Fantasy Project Anima

Hearing him talk she couldn't help but smirk, he is not all charming as he made him self out to be. "why have you not hired an assassin yet if you wanted him gone?" as she asked this she started to think of a plan to carry this out, then what he said came to mind. "were you wanting to help with this?" she raised her eyebrow if he did she would just charge him extra for protection but would let him have the satisfaction of seeing him dead with his own eyes. she needed his answer before she could say yes but, she would end up saying it anyway.

His grin grew wider on her last question. "Of course. Naturally, I want to be there when his death comes. There would be no greater satisfaction than seeing that man writhing on his death."

His expression was clouded with malice. Pure contempt, as if he had a personal vendetta against whomever his malice was aimed at. But he soon covered it up with his usual jolly smile.

"As for why I haven't hired any assassin yet...well, would you believe me if I said I was waiting for you? More precisely, I was waiting for an assassin bold enough to try killing me, a royalty, in my own castle, and who is also able to survive my traps. You might've thought of it as child's play, but do you think just anybody can defeat that Golem like you did?"

She looked at him for a moment then started to giggle "alright you have an Assassin" she smiled at him as she held out her hand. She was really not the best assassin out there it was just an assignment she was given to work up to some others she had, but hearing him talk helped her pride at being up there with them. "and your golem was actually really easy the worst part was you pushing me against the wall" she laughed, seeing him smile and look other then like a prince she had warmed up to him a bit.

Smiling at him she waited for him to take her hand. there is a possibility that she would not kill him after the job was done. she even might tell him her real name, thinking this she giggled to her self. out of no were something sparked, what would happen after the job was done? would he have her arrested killed even or tortured for the information she held on other kingdoms? her smile started to fade, she could not trust this man even if he was getting to her. He had to know that there was always a risk of her taking his head after the job was done, but did she want to do it or rather could she do it?

He stared for a while on her extended hand, but ultimately shook it firmly. His face looked refreshed, as if a large burden had been relieved from his soul. This was only the start of the long job ahead, but gaining her assistance is a good start. He can't help but flashing her a genuine smile.

"Thank you. Oh, thank you. You don't know how much this means to me."

He was oblivious to the worry on her mind. As much malice he had in his heart, he was still a Prince, who had always lived in safety of the castle wall. Certainly not as accustomed to lies and betrayals like she was.

"So, when can you pull this off? What would you need? I'll help you get them. Norman can get any weapons that you want through the black market. With the gold that I have now that shouldn't be a problem."

After he had shook her hand she had to quickly let go not wanting to touch him, her strange actions were fought back to her normal self as she leaned back in her chair. "slow down on your questions" she mumbled as she thought, she really didn't need much other then a new sword and cloths. putting her sword on the table she looked at him "I need one that would match with this one...by other one is probibly blown apart or melted right now" she looked at him then sighed "as for when give me a few days to rest then i am all yours...but for now give me some coins so I can buy a new outfit" she got up from her chair and looked at him.

she wanted to show no feeling of happiness to this prince or anything else but her assassin side. "you will also need to get us a room so I know were you are at all times until we leave" she crossed her arms then turned away from him a bit to look at the bartender, tonight she may get a drink to celebrate her new job.

He was was still smirking with glee, but he did take a mental notes on all that she'd asked. "Of course. Then, I'll borrow this sword. And here's some coins for your expenses. Consider this another advance payment aside from the dagger," he pulled out the pouch containing his coins, then poured around half of it into his bundle. From the sound of coins inside, the pouch still hold quite a sum, surely enough to live in relative luxury for a while. He left the pouch on top of the table, and then took the sword with him.

When he reached the counter, Norman was all smile.

"You lucky guy you, I saw you pouring her coins there. So you DO look for some action eh?"

"Shuck it, man. I got something for you to do," he placed the sword on the counter. The former bandit raised his eyebrow upon this strange artifact. "I need a sword to match this one. Highest quality. Money is of no concern. But keep it a secret."

"Hmm, you know that getting weapon is hard, right? If you're a legit business like me, then I can't..."

Gills interrupted his speech by placing a solid gold bar beside the sword. "I'll give you two more after I get the sword."

The grin on Norman's face grew brighter. "Aah, good ol' Gills. You know how to move a man! Give me a couple of days and it'll be done."

"Also, two rooms, please," this time Gills only gave a pair of gold coins.

"Hmm? Oho~ ahem, our room is full at the moment, so all I can give is one room. Tell you what, I'll throw it for free. Stay as long as you want! But you'll have to pay lunch yourself. Ohoho!"

"Bu-but...?!?" Norman had given him one key and nothing more, rejecting the gold coins Gills gave him. The bulky man ran to the back of the bar with the sword and gold bar at hand, whistling about youth and bees and whatnot. Gills was left there dumbfounded.

"Err...sorry, I only got one room. Eh..eheheh..." When he returned to the table, all he could give her was a nervous laughter. "Here, the key. I can just sleep here. You take the room."

Watching him pour the coins into his pack she almost yelled at him, they were in a pace with bandits and killers for heavens sake. Sitting back down as she shook her head she opened the pouch and looked through it. He is going to get us both... Well him killed over this. Moving it around with her finger she shook her head again, thinking about what she should get.

Hearing him come back she stood up then picked up the pouch. "no need I told you to get A room for Us" she said as she tied the pouch to her belt along side the dagger. "there is no need to give me the key you keep it I'm sure you will want your beauty sleep soon" she moved past him and started to the door of then inn to go and shop.

He sat there dumbfounded as he watched her went out. For us. For...us...us...US??!? whatever would that means?!? could...could that means...

...

When he did open the room and look inside, though, he realized it was a room with two beds. Oh. Yeah, what did he expect, really? He plopped down into one of the bed, exhaustion started to set in. Now that he think about it, he didn't get any sleep last night. A yawn escaped his mouth. Did he tell her which room this was? Oh well...Norman can help her. For now...he just want to close his eyes...before that, though, he hid the bundle below the bed, just in case.

In the daze before he fell asleep, his hand clutched the sheath on his belt. That was the only thing he won't separate from his body.

The heaviness of sleep fell down on Argillys.

Walking around the town she had finally found the place she was looking for. it was a nice out of the way shop that if you went to the back there were always cloths for those who work the night. Browsing around she found one that she had liked and went to chang into it. She wanted to get out of those cloths and new dressings on her wounds.

Slipping it on she looked at it with a small smile. it was different then what she was use to, but it was a nice fit. Turning she looked at her back and seen the healing cuts and bruises. Letting her hair down she sighed as she walked out after switching everything over to the new outfit.

After finishing paying for it she left the little shop, she had left her outfit there for the women to get rid of with put anyone knowing. Walking back to the inn she entered to find him gone. He must of been tiered...she had no idea what room they were in. Shaking her head she walked up to the bar to wait for the bar keep to see her.

"Yes, yes, coming," The former bandit bartender, Norman, showed himself from the small back room he was cooped in just a while ago. Seems that he was working for Gills's request until now. "Oh, you're that gal who was with Gills. Just finished shopping, eh? Hmm~ that looks good on you, heheh," he whistled merrily. "What do you think? That guy should be sleeping right now, how about spending time with me? Eh?"

His face was showing a lewd expression. But then something came up to him. "Hmm? Now that I think of it, you seem familiar...have we ever met before?"

She gave him a small smile she was sure the prince was sleeping and figured it wouldn't hurt to have a drink or three. "thank you.I wouldn't mind spending some time here with you. I was planning on getting a few drinks anyways" she gave him a playful tone as she looked at him. Looking away she took out a coin and laid it on the counter, as she leaned foreword on the stool she was sitting on. "and I've been in here a few times mostly for job meetings" she said as she played with the coin on the counter.

"I...I see..." Norman instinctively gulped. His days being bandit had honed his survival instinct, which was still useful even to this day. And what the instinct told him was that this chick is dangerous. "W-well, here you go then."

Swiftly taking the coin on the counter, he skillfully replaced it with a mugful of ale. His gut feeling told him to keep this woman happy. Or else.

Seeing him start to get nervous she smiled at him, then leaned on her elbow watching him move. Seeing the coin be replaced with the ale she leaned back a bit and took it in her hand. "thank you" she said before taking a big drink of it. Sighing she put the glass down and looked at him again. "so~ when will you be able to find a twin for my sword?" she asked then took another drink of her Ale.

Her question snapped him back to his usual self. It's okay, Norman, she's just a customer. You're not a threat to her. Just be professional and everything will be a-ok. "Ahem. Well, it's an unique blade, alright. But I can prepare it soon, in a day or two...three days at most. Rest assured, I'll get the best sword to match yours," he replied proudly. He was sure about his skill to procure black market weapons. He's been in this business for long, after all.

"Do you have any specification that you need? That Gills gave me too much money actually, so I can add some extra services if you want. Oh yeah, he's in the middle room right after you went up that stair. I think he told me to tell you that. By the way..."

He leaned forward until they're in whispering distance. "Say, who the heck is that Gills dude anyway? I mean, as long as he gave me gold I'm one happy man. But it's weird, ya'know? Who's that guy actually? Some rich duke or noble?"

She nodded as he told her how long it would take for her sword to have a partner again. Drinking her Ale down to half she shook her head. "I just want it like that nothing more is needed. You might as well just keep the extra until we need something" she said before taking a drink.

Listening to him talk she nodded, but hearing his questions the put the empty cup down slowly. "I only give out information about my employers to dead men or vary rich men after my job is done so would you like to know now" she smiled at him and lightly pushed her empty cup to him "or would you like to know later? " her smile gave off a sort-of blood lust as well as a warning.

"I'll have another ale please" she happily said as she placed another coin on the bar. She had no reason to kill this man but she had no problems doing it if he asked to many questions.

In the entire life of Norman Levigh as a bandit, this was the first time he shivered from mere glance of a woman. Dangerous. Truly dangerous. To delve further would be giving up his life.

"A-ah, of course, of course, there's no need to be violent here. I, too, know the importance of secrecy. Here you go, missy, and this one is on the house,"

He poured two mugs of ale for her. Now that he'd experienced that glare, he somewhat remembered that he'd seen her before. Not just her. Her people. Those guys whose appearance speaks of trouble, the ones whom even the vagrants and defiants dared not to cross way. Could she really be...

...nah, she's a customer, nothing more, nothing less. He still valued his head on his neck after all. Only a fool would hasten to separate them, and Norman Levigh is anything but a fool.

She gave him a fake offended look " but sir I was not being violent" she picked up the one of the cups. "I was only telling the truth" she smirked then quickly downed the first cup, then sighed happily feeling her body start to warm up from the alcohol. She smiled at him as she picked up the second cup. she could feel the fear from him it was something she was use to and came to enjoy a bit.

" so~ Norman was it?" she leaned on the counter a bit with her free hand under her chest as she smiled. "why don't you tell me a bit about your self" after sweetly asking this she took a drink of the Ale. She could tell she must of been blushing from the heat coming from her face. alcohol never really bothered her until she was relaxed and at this point she was relaxed, just having some fun with him.

At this point he was sure that this woman was playing around with him. While it was scary, at the same time it gave him that exhilarating feeling he'd had on his old bandit time. It's been a while since he had those feelings again, it felt somewhat nostalgic. "Huh? Me? Oh, you'll get bored fast from this ol' little me. I'm way past my glory days from way back then. Now I'm just a bottom feeder scraping for whatever left in this world. Surely not someone you can compare to your...people."

He emphasized the last word carefully, not sure of how she would take it. There should be no harm, right? ...right?

"Oh but I was a hot lad back then. Axe on mah back, sword on mah hip. We would ransack a village or two, party with kegs of ale 'til the moon shied away and the sun went up. Ah, the good ol' days." He flexed his muscle, showing how much it bulged. Even after all those years, those muscles were still as big as before, his pride and joy.

She smiled slightly as she listened to him talk, he wasn't boring not to her anyway it normally took a lot to be boring to her. sipping on her ale she raised a eyebrow when he said you people but said nothing, she really didn't care what was said about her or the people she worked with. his life must of been a fun one, she finished her ale as he began to flex. she put another coin on the counter as she started to giggle. "they are vary big, you must of had a lot of fun, though i'm sure you have a little fun still working this bar" she smiled happily at him, the ale had started to work its magic on her and she was starting to feel giggly and flirtatious.

The bartender let out a roaring laughter when she praised his muscles. He had gulped a large jug of ale, the sight of this woman chucking them in one after another had affected him as well. His face started to blush red, both from her compliments and the alcohol on his bloodstream. He took another coin she'd left and put down another jug, this time bigger than previous ones.

"Oh it's not boring at all, that sure is, missy. I replaced my battling days with rumors. Tasty, juicy rumors. You can get lots of money selling hearsays to the right person! *hic*" He gulped another jug of his own. "I got clients from everywhere. Can't tell you, business secret. Buut I can say that they're 'mportants. Some people from the ministry, royalties trying to get laid, even got some fancy bigwigs from the Priesthood."

She couldn't stop smiling as she watched him laugh then start on drinking with her. As he placed the jug on the counter for her, she took a big drink of it as he continued to talk. It seamed that the more he drank and she flirted the more he started to talk.

She tipped her head and tried to look cute "priesthood? What do they have with the underground?" she asked leaning on the counter a bit, as she smiled at him.

Norman took her jug and refilled it with more ale. Seems that he wasn't thinking too clearly now. "Oh, many things. Those guys have lots of shady stuffs going on. Corpses...lots of them involving corpses. That's where I come in," he replied, alternating between drinking and talking. "But I can't tell you more than that, missy. Confidential, see? Just like you can take my head off, so can they."

She giggled "alright I'll ask no more" she drank some of her ale down to half. The alcohol was getting to her now and she felt it. If he was not going to give her anymore information then there was no point in asking.

"I don't want that cute head of yours to be separated from those muscles" she smiled at him then drank down the rest of her Ale. "I should go and get some sleep" she sighed as she leaned back in her chair.

The bulky bartender looked a bit disappointed when she said that, but involuntarily let out a relieved sigh. "Well, if that's what you want. Your room is the middle one of the three after you get up through those stairs. You can wake Gills up if you want, I'm sure he won't mind, heheh."

Seems that he still had the wrong impression of the two.

"Missy, I can tell that that Gills dude is beneath your league. But don't be too harsh on him, 'kay? Can't squeeze gold from the hen if you chop 'im, you get it? Hahaha!"

She shook her head with a light laugh "he is only my employer that is all" she slipped off the chair and then looked at him. "it was fun drinking with you we should do it again" she winked at him then started to walk to the room.

Making it there she opened the door. She had been able to walk straight but going into unseeing eyes she giggled a bit before closing the door behind her. Stumbling into the walls she tried not to smile as she laid on her back on the second bed.
