Khione padded through the woods wearily, her paws flicking up small flurries of snow with every hurried step she took, her pupils darting around, ears pricked for any signs of danger. Her amber irises were dull and emotionless, as always, though they were also alert, scanning the shadowed forest with an intelligent stare, as though she knew how to pinpoint movement in the darkest of places. Slowly, her pace slackened to more of a tip-toe, and she lifted her white and gray-laced muzzle upwards, whiskers twitching as she sniffed for any unknown scents, though didn't notice any alarming scents with her keen nose, so she set off again, faster than before, knowing for now, nothing was off about the area. Her white pelt, usually bright from the shining sun, though darkened from the overhead trees. Her pupils were dilated more than the average wolves to capture any sudden movements, sense of hearing and smelling keener to pick up any sound or scent. Suddenly, she froze, hearing something in the brush. She sniffed, inhaling, and caught the scent of snow-hare. Her ears perked in excitement, something she'd show for a chance to hunt. He slipped through the brush, weaving her way soundlessly around to find the white rabbit, snuffling among the ground, searching for grass. Effortlessly, Khione leaped forward with incredibly swift, quick movement and pounced on the creature, giving it a clean bite to it's spine. She lifted her head to the sky, eyes shut, and chanted a prayer in ancient greek, "Ω, κέφια! Σας ευχαριστώ για αυτή την ευλογία των τροφίμων, τα οποία θα ενισχύσουν μου, να ικανοποιήσουν την πείνα μου! Αυτή η ζωή έχει υποστεί ένα άλλο, και για αυτό, είμαι ευγνώμων για αυτό είναι πλούσια σε πρωτεΐνες παρέχει μου! Αυτή η ζωή δεν έχει λήξει στη θλίψη, αλλά με ευγνωμοσύνη!" With that, she dipped her head in silence before, lifting the limp body in her strong jaws and carrying it away, looking for a safe, secluded place to eat her meal. She ushered her way forward through the forest, pausing to scan her unfamiliar surroundings.

The large black wolf was holding his muzzle close to the ground. Walking as silent as he could and making no noises whatsoever, he tried to find something that would satisfy his rumbling stomach. He knew he was in a great area to hunt but today just didn't seem to be a lucky day for Shadow since he hadn't even seen a single rabbit that usually would sprint into the bushes as soon as the large canine approached. He stopped for a second, raising his keuze into the air and stretching his neck which had start to hurt a little by holding it so close to the found for such a long time.

He took a deep breath of the rather cold but very fresh air when he suddenly smelled something. He had hoped to smell something, but definitely not the scent of what he was smelling now. He perked his ears and sniffed the air again to see if he was right. It was clear to him that this wasn't the scent of a possible prey since Shadow was not cannibalistic and this definitely was the smell of another wolf. He sniffed again to mark the direction in which he had to go towards the other wolf. He crawled close to the ground, his chest and belly almost touching the cold snow that Shadow somehow loved so much. He was wagging his tail very slowly as he got the other canine in sight. A female, with a white and grey pelt was enjoying a freshly caught rabbit. Shadow was hiding in the bushes, the perfect spot to let hid pitch black fur work as camouflage.

Khione had settled on a fresh patch of grass, a deep green, sustained by the snow which had cooled it. She took a bite of the delicious, savory hare, chewing slowly. Her amber irises were inquisitive and alert, scanning the brush as she ate her meal. Crimson stained her white and gray fur as she drew back after another bite. Her nose couldn't quite detect any other scent, being it was covering in the sticky-sweet scent of blood, but travelling had taught her new tricks. She turned away from the half-eaten carcass and rubbed her nose in the snow, specks and blotches forming, disturbing the untouched white. After cleaning her muzzle, ridding it of the red, she sniffed the air, her keen nose picking up something that would have been masked by the scent of pine needles and rabbit. She got to her paws so quickly, it was abnormal, ears flying backwards, lips drawn backwards, revealing stark white teeth, now stained with the blood of the rabbit she had been eating. Her pupils darted around, trying to pinpoint the wolf that was just in her earshot, close enough to smell through the scent of pine and fresh-killed rabbit, but she couldn't find it. She frowned in confusion, tilting her head slightly. The wolf was still here, but she couldn't find it.

Shadow almost had a grin on his lips that bared his fangs, but he made sure that the large white weapons were hidden since they might grab the attention of the confused female. He grinned and wanted to tease her more but Shadow was smarter than that. Except for an occasional twitch of his ear and the blinking of his eye, the black canine was completely motionless. His tail was straight behind him and not moving at all. He inspected the female with a smile on his lips. Due to years of experience Shadow knew quite a lot about hunting and fighting but what he loved the most is that he could be so incredibly stealthy. Within seconds he had inspected the other wolf in front of him that seemed to have a hard time to find what she was actually smelling. Every second it took longer, Shadow's smiled grew wider.

Khione's eyes observed the area directly where the other wolf was, yet still couldn't directly see him. Her frown deepened and she turned her head in a different direction, creeping over to it and sniffing. She growled in frustration, looking back at where she had been looking just moments ago, seeing a small disturbance in the leaves. But she had felt the breeze so she ruled out any possibility it could possibly be what she was looking for. She felt as though she were cornered, oblivious to obvious signs what was in fact making her feel like this. Then she saw a flash of blue in the same bush. She scowled. She knew what eyes looked like when she saw them. She slipped into the bushes silently, making nothing move as she crept around, coming up behind the wolf. She noticed it had a coat black as night. Perhaps this was why she couldn't find him?

Shadow loved to see the wolf going into a different direction, but wondered what she would do if she still wouldn't find what she was looking for. Suddenly he heard something behind him and twitched his ear. He sniffed the air silently and flicked his tail with a smile as he recognised the scent he had smelled before. He stood up and turned around, revealing the real size to the other wolf. "Well well, I guess my blue eyes betrayed me once again" Shadow loved the color of his eyes, but because of their color you could easily spot them in the dark. He slowly wagged his tail and waited for the reply that would follow soon. He smiled slightly and was ready to fight if needed to.

Khione's beautiful amber eyes glittered angrily, unusually bright in the gloom. "Yeah, not a very good thing," she snapped, hackles raised. Her ears were low, yet pointed forward, pupils unnervingly still as she observed the wolf. He was just slightly taller than she, but she was sure if it came to it, she would be quicker and more clever in a fight, which led to victory. Though she was swaying more towards shooing him away rather than driving him off violently. "You should learn to conceal yourself, then maybe you'd have the satisfaction of watching me chase my tail looking for you," she advised coldly, taking a step away from the blue-eyed brute, wearing a very annoying smile.

Shadow just kept having his teasing grin on his lips. He wasn't going to back down for this wolf that seemed to be a little too confident about herself. Shadow never underestimated any other animal, since you could never see from the outside what the other one knew and what kind of skills she had. But still, regarding the size of her body, claws and fangs, Shadow had the idea that he would win a fight with her. "Yea... my blue eyes can ruin things sometimes, but they can see perfectly so I guess that makes it all even." He said while keeping up the teasing grin. He wanted to see what this female was going to try and do against him. They weren't in someone's territory so they both didn't have a good reason to leave from where they were, but Shadow was pretty sure that one of them eventually would.

Khione raised her chin, meeting his gaze with her own, eyes slitted so the brute could only see her pupils and amber irises. "How do you even manage?" she blurted suddenly. "I mean, I bet if you stepped on a thorn, you whimper and bawl like a lost puppy," she said scornfully, turning away and passing him, exiting the brush and standing next to her almost forgotten rabbit. Her white pelt was more shaded where she stood, making her look more like a gray wolf. Khione knew she was incredibly confident about herself, but it was completely fine being all she had been through, all she had endured. She had even picked up on snide comments from other wolves, so she had a smart mouth.

Shadow just kept smiling. He wasn't insulted at all since he would never whimper and bawl like a lost puppy like the other wolf told him. He turned around and followed her into the clearing. Shadow sat down next to the killed rabbit. "How about you? I bet you cry for your mommy every night when you feel lonely in a cold and empty cave. Shadow's smile only grew wider since he was sure that this wolf was completely lonely and wasn't liking other wolves at all. Once again he was ready to fight if the wolf's reciting was filled with aggression.

Khione's eyes flared with fury and she acted without truly thinking. She leaped forward, twisted, and bringing a paw down on his chest, slamming him into the ground. Her snarling muzzle was so close to his their noses were almost touching. "Never. Ever. Speak of me 'whining to my mother' again!" she growled, anger dripping with every word. "I know more of surviving than you do. I should know. I've been surviving on my own since I was two months old."

Shadow was rather surprised by the sudden knock he got with the wolf's paw. He looked up at her muzzle and smiled."I doubt if you know anything more about surviving than I do. Since you have been surviving on your own for your entire life you've never learned to take care and watch after others. I've been an Alpha for a year until my own uncle betrayed me. It was a fight of which you would have been afraid even looking at. The last year I've been surviving on my own, believe, you might know much but I know at least that what you know." Shadow grinned and licked the other wolf's muzzle since it was so close.

Khione was genuinely surprised he was still grinning, still challenging her. She shook her head to herself and got off him, starting to feel her long standing emotional wall crumbling. "I don't need to take care of anyone else. It will only ever be me," she decided for the millionth time, though she was really trying to persuade the black wolf she was completely fine on her own. "I don't have strength and I don't have the knowledge of taking care of someone else, but it doesn't matter because I'm capable without it."

Shadow knew that he had hit a weak spot in the memory of the wolf. His confidence grew and he stood up. He shook his pelt for a brief second and sat down again. Shadow wasn't going to slam into the other wolf's moral again, but he did know where to hit her if she got mad again. The large black wolf rested his tail behind, slowly sweeping his tail over the ground. "Listen... If you want it or not, a wolf is a group animal. You'll barely find them wandering alone and if they are they're mostly not that happy as those who live in a pack..." Shadow had not really an idea of what the possible reaction of the wolf would be, but he considered aggression a very small option.

Khione flicked a gray ear, her annoyance building. She considered what she would say. She decided not to reply directly to his words, but rather say, "I am really moody sometimes." It didn't have anything to do with anything, but she thought if she said it aloud, she'd believe it. And she did. She looked at him. "And I'm not scared of any battle," she said, relating to the one he said she would be terrified of. "I've probably had more of them then even you." She looked away again.

Shadow sighed and rolled his eyes. " I have been in a lot of fights and I do believe you in having been in much battles.... but if I came with the actual intention to kill you, you would have been long dead by now" Shadow was looking serious now. He had never came to the wolf with the intention to kill her. "So stop saying that you're ready for a battle." Shadow sighed again and looked doen at the rabbit for a second. He flicked his tail and looked up again. "You should learn to live with others... it'll make you feel a lot better " Shadow growled e and then grinned with a teasing look.

Khione's whiskers twitched. "You can never be to sure," she muttered under her breath, before glancing back up. "And living with other wolves just isn't for some of us, you know. I've been on my own for so long, I'm completely used to it. Though I appreciate the advice." She stretched, getting up, and started padding away. "I should be going now," she called over her shoulder, her voice calm, no true emotion in it.

Shadow sighed and looked around for a second. His own advice made him kind of sad since he had been alone for a long time as well. He sighed again and ran towards the female. "Where are you going?" He asked curiously. Shadow had nothing to do anyway so he figured he could just follow this wolf until she might attack him because she would be annoyed by Shadow. "You don't have anything you need to do, do you?" He said with a teasing smile.

Khione stopped in her tracks, turning towards him. "I am going nowhere in particular, and I don't," she huffed, turning around and setting off again. "And I really, really don't need any company!" she insisted, slightly annoyed by his persistence. Her white fur was bristling slightly, though unnoticably.

Shadow frowned and now raised his tail. He knew he had hit a spot again where he could tease her with. He quickly followed her and started nudging her constantly. Eventually he nudged her hard against her shoulder and made her fall over. Shadow looked at her with a grin. "Oops"

Khione growled in anger and annoyance, getting to her paws hastily. She gave her white and gray-laced fur a shake to get rid of any dust and set off faster. "It'd be appreciated if you could mind your own business and stop pushing me!" she snapped through gritted teeth, amber eyes narrowed to slits.

Shadow sighed and disappeared into the bushes again. He followed King silently with his black fur disappearing in the surroundings. He kept extremely silent and had his eyes almost closed so she wouldn't spot him this time.
