Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Ash
Ash looked at Dust, he could see in Dust what Ash was when he walked through the battlefields of what was Earth.

"Not worthy of the title huh...." Ash remembered back to the day he lied dead in the battlefield after the war, when Greece fell under control of Rome, when General Sulla's forces took control of the city, wiping out the last of the resistance in the region. "I never did give my life up no matter what, I fought till the end." Ash then remembered Velder.

When he fought to the end, surrounded by the blue-eyed demon army, he didn't give up his life.

But why now Ash wondered. He looked at Dust,
"The boy has a fire." Ash clenched his fist grinning. "You have a big mouth boy, I like that. Theres a key component you forgot about Feita."

Ash calleed his sword forward, "You seem to think I don't know my men's worth...Feita hasn't fallen yet because of me, no that is because I know those I trained, those who looked at me to save there homes didn't want me to fight there battles but to make them stronger, to protect the province that was left behind by the humans I stepped forward." Ash raised his sword holding it side ways resting on both his palms. "I gave the soldiers a new found strength, one victory was all they needed to believe in hope, they achieved it with there own hands, afterall I was gone for a week." Ash said as he smiled.

"You and I are alike more than you know Dust, but." Ash looked at Orion in the sky to transport them back to Feita.

In the blink of an eye, Dust and Ash along with Dusts soldiers stood about 2 miles outside Ash's camp where all of the civilians and his current troops stayed,
"Feita is under my wing, When I said I would give my life was not as I would simply lay down and die, but one last fight.." Ash walked towards Dust, Cai Er didn't know what to expect from this, she kept her guard up for insurance.

"I'm know coward, the reason I offered an alliance was because Feita is under my wing, I won't allow you to harm the civilians or my soldiers here." Ash raised his sword and buried it into the ground at an angle, "I may have a gods power but that makes me no prophet or Messiah, I was never remembered for my deeds because all I did was what any soldier would do, endure what humanity or any kind didn't have to, afterall...I'm only human." Ash pointed at his sword, "Where I came from crossed swords at the site of a battlefield builds a bond between warriors, If you want to end this blood shed in Feita I suggest it, but if my ramble wasn't enough, then walk the other way." Ash looked at Cai Er, "Let's go back, we still got homes to rebuild." Ash said, Cai Er was startled, Ash wasn't much of a talker but old habits from earth die hard.

"Father...why did you continuously push an alliance on him?" Cai Er asked. Ash looked back at the hill top where Dust and his soldiers stood and Ash's sword stayed dug in the ground.

"Long ago I lost more than anything when a king insisted on fighting alone. He believed 'Spartans never Die' but we werent gods we were just human we needed everyones support but..he didn't listen and the day arrived and Rome took over." Ash said, Cai Er was confused on what Rome was but she knew what he was trying to say.

"This world is divided fighting one another while Ishmael, Sult, Henrir and who knows who else play with it's citizen's lives like a game." Ash said as he and Cai Er neared the camp. Ash looked at the working humans, elves and demons from the Sourcream clan. "This picture is what I hope for all of Elrios. I'll try to keep it alive the best I can."

Orion then arrived, setting down in front of Ash, "Master, we have a bigger problem, When Ain returned to Ishmaels chamber's she has started to move the chruches, as well as a new darkness I can't tell what it is but Ain himself feared for the worst." Orion said, Ash crossed his arms and looked up at the hill top. "So what will you do Dust?" Ash thought to himself.

Ain
Ain's back was against the wall as he held his shoulder in pain,
"You've really gone for it...." Ain looked at the giant creatures that flooded heaven, "Dark Nephilims.....this is what you plan on unleashing to earth..." Ain couldn't believe the corruption that his mother did to the peaceful Nephilims but one thing he knew was that Elrios was going to be shook by a storm.
Fume Fume

Lara
She was slowly walking out of the last ponggo hideout when Glave approached her.
"Did you see Luto's memories?"
His voice was not the mocking one she had often heard him take when he approached her. She glanced at her left hand and clenched it into a fist to hide the purple marks on her fingers.
"Yes."
"Then you know what Henir is trying to accomplish. You saw what pushes him to reach that goal."
"So the end justifies the means?"
Glave fell silent for a second and Lara continued her way. Then the disciple's voiced resounded in her ears and mind before bringing her steps to a halt: "Look at your own path and answer that question for yourself, Lara."
She calmly continued her way, but her mind was focused on how she was no better than the one that she despised.

Durahan
He had finally seen the prince, Ishmael's only son. He immediately disliked his attitude, how could he not see that his mother was doing everything in her power to maintain the balance of the world? To insinuate that Ishmael was manipulating races for a mere game was absurd. She was the goddess of the El, the one who had to stop the Soul Priestess and Henir from destroying the balance. Sometimes, for good to vanquish, it required to destroy certain things first to weaken the forces of evil. How was that so difficult to understand? Wars always required destruction to bring peace, no matter how...horrible...

His mind went blank for an instant. Destruction was indeed horrible, wasn't it? No. Ishmael would never do something that put in danger the world of the living, her world. Those Nephilims wouldn't bring destruction to anyone but Henir, the only enemy.

He continued to watch from afar Ainchase's conversation with his mother, looking as calm as he could, but he couldn't shake off his slight annoyance.

"Do not worry, Durahan. Mortals are not meant to understand the ways we, the Gods, ensure their well-being. Continue your mission without worries."

Lento
Feita's Blacksmith watched with contentment how the group of heroes and enemies slowly backed away from one another. It didn't mean the end of the war, but, he hoped both camps would negotiate a ceasefire that would last enough for the temple to rebuild. He had heard legends of some strong power being sealed away in the shrine, a power that couldn't be controlled by anyone and that had to be sealed away by gods, demons and humans alike to be stropped. Some talked about the existence of a blood monster and Lara had also hinted the possibility of the monster's existence. She had died to it four dimensions ago. Lento got up and began to sneak around the rubble, being careful to stay away from the demon troops although he didn't doubt the possibility that some of them might see him. His armour didn't have any stealth properties, nor did his own magical aura. He pressed on, searching for any magical seals that might still be tied to the rubble surrounding him.

"Better to be safe than sorry."

Ash: Pior Return to Elrios and 7 Years

Before returned to Elrios, Ares had told him of a world he had created for Ash, the rest would be put together by him. As Ash walked through Ishmaels chambers he grabbed his clothing that was made for him by one of the seraphs. Ash put on his eye patch as he fixed his hair in the mirror.
"To continue this plan, meeting with an Old ally would be helpful."
About a few months before he met Rain and the others Ash had helped a demon noble named Luciela and her butler Ciel. Ash turned to Ain, "I've began looking for her, I already guessed you'd seek for someone who has info on gaining trust of demons." Ain said with a soft smile as he pin pointed Luciela's whereabouts in Velder.

After a bit of setting up with Ain visiting her down in Velder a link got established as Lu's face appeared on the screen.
"Boy? Is that you? My you've changed! But first why do you have a son this old?! Well you where 44 when we met..." Lu's appearance had also changed, she had sharper horns her hair rougher and her eyes lifeless. Ash raised a hand with a chuckle. "Yes it's me and I'm not the only one who's changed." Ash said pointing out Lu's new features, he didn't know what caused it but was happy that she was still the same Lu, "So, why did you send him here? Do you need this queens assistance once more? Huhu" Lu chuckled, but whatshe said was right and Ash nodded his head, "You see I want increase my army's size, it's been a few months but I believe when they see I'm alive again they'll rejoin my cause." Ash said with a serious expression, Lu rolled her eyes. "Your human right? Theirs nothing more you need right?" She said, but Ash shook his head, "I don't want just humans and elves but....demons." Ash said, Lu stared at him with a glare, "Demons? With Humans and Elves? Impossible." She said, but Ash shook his head, "Not if they fight for a similar cause." Ash said as he began to explain to Lu his plan.

How he would use the world Ares left him as a gift to keep this army off Ishmaels hold, a solution to fighting on different fronts and such, Lu looked at Ash as if it was no use.

But then an idea sparked within her,
"Not all of the demon forces here obey the commander running the army here in velder, if I could rally them up they'd maybe up for it." Lu said grinning as she slammed her fist together. "If all works I'll send some to you and keep some here in feita but I need back up." Lu said, turning her head from the screen, "KEEP IT UP CIEL, ALMOST FINISHED!" Lu yelled, Ash was flabbergasted but was able to calm down. "I-I'll keep in touch.." Ash said as the window vanished, he looked down at the map of Elrios, "I have a few days before Ishmael finds me." Ash said staring at the spot that was Feita.

Day 1:Elrios
Soon Ash ventured to Elder reuniting with his old company, the few he met Ash requested that they seek out as many as they can before the day came to an end.

With that covered Ash went to the blacksmiths buying weapons of all kinds and materials to use in forging better gear. With Ains help they built lodges in his world and place a world map like that i Ishmaels room.

When he deemed there was enough Ash set off to Feita, like Lu said the people feared his power but he didn't mind it, while there Ash met a girl a demonic girl. She had snuck into elrios during a demon siege of the shrine. Ash took her under his wing and all through the day they walked around what was left of Feita.

When time came Cai Er chose to train under Ash, that same day Ain had brought in Ash's old company and the training began. To train everyone efficiently Ash sped the worlds time, every week Ash consuned 8 pots of mana to keep depletion from happening. Ain would take over for a while at times but he would consume more than Ash.

Day 2 in Elrios
2 years reached Ash's world. Cai Er's training was going well, around this time Ain brought forth old members and current from the Feita militia who apologized to Ash for calling him a monster. Ash forgave them, but instead of leaving they requested to train under him, Ash needing all the help he can get agreed. With this Ash sent Ain down to Elder to get weapons and materials once more. More lodges where built and soon the vast green plains began to look lively.

When the numbers where added Ash had 132 elves and 266 humans in his company sized army.

Day 3 Elrios
A year later, it was Cai Er's birthday, Lu had decided to arrive this time and celebrated along with Ciel. When Ash requested Lu to see what demonic power Cai Er possessed, Lu found out that she was of her clan and that her father was her uncle.

Lu was excited to see that she came to train Cai Er for a few months, teaching her how to unlock the Altar of Evil and sdome of her skills. Ciel as well helped Cai Er in her assassination skills and his demonic arts.

A week later Ash went bed ridden, Ain and Orion volunteeredto keep the spell active, Lu and Ciel quickly returned to Velder to rally up the few demon forces they rallied, within 5 hours Lu returned with 35 Spearman, 5 Commders, 40 Shieldman and some wyverns. Ash was surprised when he awoke 2 weeks later. Lu began th ere training as the training grounds where filled with Demons and Elves and Humans sparring together.

"At first I had to kick all there asses, let them know that they aren't going to win a war hating each other for grudges made by the higher ups like myself." Lu said, "Soon they came to know one another they've come to eat meals together." Lu said. Ash smiled.

When he got better Ash ventured out to Feita with his troops fighting off the waves of demons that arrived, because Ash regained control over the spell he was only able to fight like a mortal like he used to.

After a day of fighting Ash offered the villagers shelter for a while until they could rebuild there homes. When they saw the demons they back there agreement in fear. But among his unit rose someone who seemed to know the villagers.

He explained all that happen and how they needed everyones support. But it didn't work, so Ash built a seperate area for refugees in the world, until they could recover.

With much convincing they agreed.

Day 4 Elrios

When Ash returned Cai Er. Was stronger, thanks to Ain training her in magic for a while, Ash settled down the human villagers in the areas the designated for them. Within 8 months relationships between his army and the villagers improved. But all couldn't be all too well, when Ash set out with Lu to Velder all was well till a demon in a small armour attacked Lu and Ash while on patrol, this demon was stronger than those Ash fought before, but what he didnt know was that the spriggan followed Ash's shadow back to his world, chaos rose as 20 of the elves where murdered, before Orion could banish the creature.

Dust thought to himself while sitting on a pile of rubble on his next action. If Feita was under that man's wing, then attacking it would mean starting a war with him.

His chest burned a little, a least much less than before. Ran was ordering him to fight and destroy, but now he had some leeway to have some freedom. His soldiers were patched up and ready to move again, one approached him.

"Sir, what are we suppose to do?"

"I need to think. For now, capture anyone that is lurking around, field medics take a look at the wounded. Warn me if they look strong." He gave his orders while thinking on the subject. They saluted him and started to act on his orders.

A few minutes went by as the demon commander was thinking carefully on his next move. To sacrifice this place or to leave it be. It would be a great tactical advantage to have, but at the same time it would be made into a fort to renounce any kind of enemy reinforcements.

"Sir, we've taken care of the wounded... H-how are you feeling, sir?" He asked worriedly at his new commander.

"I'm fine, soldier. I've been in worse conditions than this, right now this is fine." He responded with a small bump on the soldiers chest armor. Even if it was a very small tap, it felt like a pinch to the demon.

"What are you thinking then, sir? Is the town not good?" Curiosity was grasped on him.

"It's the other way around. But if we attack, we might be countered by that army that guy has and I'm not about to send all of you a suicidal mission." He explained while thinking what he should do. "Maybe a hit and run scenario is better. If we can't have it, no one will. Even if there are casualties present."

"Sir! We found somebody skulking around! He's a few blocks away from our position looking at the rubble!"
One reported to him.

"A uninvited guest huh?" He thought to himself. "Lead the way. Surround him, but don't engage, not until I see if he's worth something." He ordered them while guiding him towards the person in question, looking around as if he lost something.

"You have either a lot of guts or a lack of nerves to be here, human."
Dust voiced out towards the man, making him petrify on the spot. "Now then, how about you tell me on what the hell are you doing here?"

The moment he had detected movement around the edges of his small mana field, he knew that demons had found him. It didn't seem like they were about to attack him so he continued his search as discretely as possible. Any sudden movement coming from him would only result in him getting surrounded once more. A powerful aura entered his field and he froze in place, knowing that it had to be the elf commander. He slowly turned around and lifted his hands as a sign of surrender.

"Lento. Dust is someone you could negotiate with, keep that in mind. I speak from experience, but be careful, he can really kill you if he wants it. He forced me to change my vessel sooner than I wanted."
"You sure know an awful lot of people..."

Lento decided to play honesty as his best policy to deal with Dust and he pointed his right index towards his ear to inform him about his condition:

"I...gan't hear...you."

Ash

Ash looked as Dust left, "Make sure we don't attack that boy, if need be we'll assist him in the future should our paths cross." Ash said to a soldier who walked up to him, giving a salute he ran off.

Later on, Ash, Lu,Ciel and Cai Er stood in a circle.
"So..I've been looking into possible allies, aleady with the Night Savers, White Ghost Army 1st Battalion, Sourcream Clans 2 platoons, the 3 Feita Platoons and Ash's old company we've got a nice number of about 1,600 soldiers in our army. Recently in Velder we've been noticing a lot of strange things happening near the southern gate but we couldn't reach their. We'll probably have to head to Velder next." Ciel said, Ash looked at the sword on the hill, Velder has always been the strongest defense humanity has had. Ash looked at the map. "I think we should. Hamiel knights are helping right? We can probably see if they can reason with us along with Velder." Cai Er said, what she said was true but, Ash doesn't remember the last time he meet Velder royalty. "That elf Pane also seemed to know a way through to Velder past Feita. We can march there, but it'll take a few days." Lu said as she scratched her horn. "We'll move out after we've finished the frames we've set up and leave 50 guards here a barrier of 10 megs will be placed, if trouble comes we'll be back before we know it." Ash said. "What about Dust?" Cai Er said, Ash shook his head, "He may be under the command of another but he is a warrior, I velieve he won't harm them." Ash said.

"Don't worry, I can easily take care of the food," Aisha responded to Phantom and smiled as she swung her staff around.

Later in the day, everyone was fed and were safe at Feita. The townspeople were very surprised and shocked about the dragons' appearance, most of them thinking it was an attack yet Aisha had to strongly reassure them that wasn't the case. It took awhile for them to be convinced, especially since Aragorn nearly stepped on the children who seem to be unaware of how dangerous they can be. The dragons settled down outside the valley to talk to Aisha and Allegro privately about their situation. As well how they came to be in hiding out at the deepest part of the shrine. The story was long, yet the dragons weren't so bothered to tell them about their past...

...To first begin with, there were many dragons long ago. All in different sizes, colors, and abilities. We were all blessed by the El Shard, given us birth to the world and help the humans to grow and learn. It was a very prosperous life, we never asked for any more than what we have. We lived with the humans peacefully and a few of us guarded the El against those who want to destroy such life. We all thought we gained the humans trust, we even have riders to strengthen our bond with them. It was perfect...unfortunately not everyone was happy.

Our trust was betrayed, a close friend tricked us and ruined the El's harmony. Everything fell apart. We did our best to save any humans that were close by. Yet once the El exploded, all dragons were heavily affected by it. Majority of them were killed and some had their nature twisted and went off on a rampage, killing anyone on the spot. Fujin, Ivy and I have to gather a few of our own kind to stop the rampage as the humans were useless at the time. Yet alas when it ended, we were the only ones left, along with Athena who was just a mere hatchling. We weren't welcome with open arms when returning back to the people. They pointed their weapons at us and demanded us to leave. I can't blame them for fearing us after what our kind did to them...but I felt anger for letting a mere human to ruin our lives. Yet we left them be, as too much blood has been spilled already. All we had left was each other and a piece that was left from the El.

Later in the years, we discovered three dragon eggs, safe from human civilization. Both were Aragorn, Octavia, and Athena. We raised them together and all six of us are all we ever needed. Yet as years passed, human growth expands. We didn't want to be spotted by them, so we always go in hiding. Their size causes us to fear and fear cause us to hide away. We never wanted to walk along with the humans...we watched and learned how greedy they can be, how much evil they sought. If we ever try to go back how the days were, sharing knowledge, it was likely the humans will use this for their own desirable needs...and use it for destruction. We did not want that to happen.

Yet that rule was broken when Octavia found a baby, human boy. It was a very hard decision to whether give up the boy to a nearby village or kill him. Though we discovered something significant about him...so in the end by the majority of the votes, we kept him. If you haven't noticed, we are referring to Xavier. We called him the El Seeker back then when we haven't figure out a proper name for him. He was rather...unique, being able to use elemental magic with his hands and able to find the smallest el shards around our hideout. Unfortunately, he can be a mess. His powers are unstable, some of us have to be careful since magic can be our greatest weakness. Aragorn, Octavia, and I have it lucky to resist magic, so we have to tolerate and supervise him 24/7. We as well trained him to control his magic...our first human to train ever since the explosion. He met our expectations in the end...

Now here we are, all five of us here. We may have lost Fujin because of the demons but we won't let his spirit die. We are willing to rebuild up our bonds with the humans and help them defend against the demons. I already sacrificed my ability to fly but this pain is no greater to what I suffered through the past years. If the humans are able to turn the war around with our help then we'll do our best to guide. I don't know what the demons are gaining from taking over the lands...but their corruption disturbs the El and I am willing to protect on what gave us life.

After the main story was told by Cornelius, along with a few others, the dragons went ahead to rest up for the night. Aisha leads Xavier and Phantom to a free tent so they can rest up as well. They were safe for now as the demons had paused their invasion, the dragons often taking shifts to keep an eye out beyond the valley.

The next day, the dragons asked for a favor.

"It may be ridiculous to ask...but we wish for armor. We don't need it now but, it will be nice to have it made for us."

Armor for the dragons can be a difficult task to make. Alas, Aisha still not know about Lento's whereabouts so she has to ask for volunteers from the soldiers to travel outside of Feita towards Bethma and Elder for blacksmiths who are willing to take up to the challenge. Five soldiers volunteered, four of them from the said village as the fifth one, Ren, was willing to help either way. As long there was good pay for it of course. The group prepped and left Feita after breakfast.

Meanwhile, Ivy was paled out. Her breaths were short and long. Everyone's concerns were raised as Cornelius finally proposed his idea.

"I know of a place...it could help her...or kill her. But we don't have any choices. There is a floating island, a massive one that is up in the skies. From what I gathered about that island, some areas are corrupted as some are full of robots known as nasods. Yet if Ivy is able to thrive with what the island has to offer, she is able to make it reverse the condition of that island and make it her home,"
Cornelius rumbled to the group. "I'll just give her the energy she needs to make the travel, Ivy should be able to detect the island's energy after leaving Feita behind."

"Octavia and I are practically the healthy ones here so we can help Ivy's flight up to the island. It won't take much effort but of course, we don't mind carrying a few others with us to ensure our safety," Aragorn said, looking at Xavier.

"I'm in," Xavier said, nodding his head.
Phantom was quick to want to come along, as he felt concern for the health of the nature dragon.

"I'll stay here just to keep an eye on things, who knows when the demons will start moving," Aisha said to them.

"Well you got us two, I'm sure we can good use for you," Cornelius said to the mage, nodding towards Athena as she was spreading her two wings.

"Just be careful, you two," Aisha said to Xavier and Phantom. "Both of you were helpful against the demons, I look forward to having you back here when you get Ivy's situation taken care of."

"Hopefully it won't take long," Xavier said, sighing lightly.

"Make haste. Climb on, Xavier," Octavia said to him.

"How about another ride on me, Phantom? I'll go easy on you," Aragorn taunted Phantom yet he was being serious. They were carrying Ivy after all. Phantom paled up yet he did agree on coming along. It would look bad he changes his mind.

Xavier went ahead to get on Octavia's back, the dragons positioning themselves next to Ivy as they were ready to go. Ivy slowly got up after Cornelius gave her the energy to move. She gave a small nod at the dark dragon and was ready to go. Yet Aisha quickly stopped them for a second.

"Xavier! I..." Aisha said to the boy, earning a very confused stare.

"Hm? Something you want to say?" Xavier asked in confusion.

"I...have this book, I think it might interest you," she said as she teleports the book to Xavier's hands.

"Oh man, another book. Did I tell you guys how much I love reading?" Xavier joked, holding the book as he inspects it. A book about magic properties. Strangely, it felt familiar to him.

"I hope it can be in good use for you," Aisha said, looking away as she doesn't usually give away one of her books.

"Huh...thank you," Xavier said as he put the book away in his bag.

Without any other interruptions, the dragons slowly took off into the sky. With Ivy in the middle and the two other dragons at her side, they quietly flew further up and away from the land below.

Carna rushed on forth, shooting a spray of accurately aimed bullets at the Nasods. He whipped out his blade and sliced the Nasods closer to him down. The sound of metal screeched in his ears when his blade released waves of energy. That was because he didn't use his blade for actual attacks, but sliced the Operator field instead. The Operator field would release an energetic slice at the enemy, which was ranged. A combo would release a circular slice.

"Nekrotische Scheibe!" He released a shockwave the passed through the Nasods as light before they started to disintegrate. It was almost comedic when they jolted and shook, their systems failing and burning into nothingness. They had just been slammed with high-intensity light, eradicating their bodies. He was using his own energy without relying on Henir. It was almost refreshing to not feel the aftereffect of darkness, although his body wasn't in the best condition.

Meanwhile, his older brother released bursts of electrical energy. He was testing out his new skills and combos, making sure they were usable and effective. He didn't like how the new ally wasn't attacking the enemy. Even he could tell how skilful she must be with those movements, but what use were they if she couldn't get rid of the enemy? A distraction, perhaps, but it wasn't like they needed one exactly. The enemy wasn't hard to deal with!

Ash
Making his way to the other side of Feita where the smallest amount of damage occurred, Ash walked in greeted by a few villagers, "Sir, you've returned!" The elder said, he then moved his head towards the soldiers standing behind Ash who where part of the Feita militia. "I'm here to drop off some guards to keep you all safe, don't worry they are experinced bunch." Ash said.

The elder nodded his head,
"Ah, the commander of the remaining militia arrived, she just returned but a few ago." The man said, Ash raised a brow, he took a small interest.

Heading deeper in Ash went straight for the material store.
"Seems the original commander is here...no matter, I'll just let them know of my army's existence without causing trouble." Ash thought to himself, while walking around the store he made sure to double up on any possible thing. "I wonder if I should get some magic stones."

"Tch...these people are making this really hard for me. I don't know if I can restrain myself if I attack..."

Rain feels no obligation to do any more. She didn't have to help them. She doesn't feel any detachment to them. Such qualities were discarded the moment she transcended above the knowledge of this world. You could say that right now, she is an observer, driven only with lust for information. Yes...that's the only thing that shapes her existence. Lust.

"Rain! Above you!" she hears Rena cry out. The dancer looks up in time to see a drill just inches from her face. The elf snaps an arrow in her direction, but she could tell it wouldn't make it in time. The drill snaps into her face...and the Nasod wielding it is then drenched with a spray of crystal blue liquid.

"It would waste Glave's gift to me though. He gave me this power and told me to forge my own path. One free from the memories of my world. If that's the case...let's give them a show."

"W-What-?!"

Rain collapses in a pool of water, revealing that it had been an illusion. The real Rain is a few feet away, spinning a lone dagger in her fingers. Strangely, the illusion shifts to maintain its form, and the Nasods following her instead slump towards her watery image, almost in a daze. Rain opens her mouth to sing, and a soft, haunting sound touches the battlefield. She sings in a language that her allies do not understand, but they can tell that it's a song more sung at a funeral than anywhere else. The world twists around her, a distortion of space. Rain drops the dagger she's holding...and disappears from view.

Raven takes this moment to aim his Nasod arm at the crowd of dazed robots. A burst of explosions engulfs the field, expanding forward to ensnare all in his path. The water projection fades away before the raging fire. After several seconds of enduring the intense heat, Raven stops his attack to survey the carnage: tiny bits and pieces of metal scattered in front of him. Rena runs ahead to take care of the incoming Nasods, but she skids to a stop once her eyes register the horror before her.

A giant whirlpool, seemingly out of nowhere, is ravaging the land, swallowing Nasods after Nasods as it tears a path into the dirt. Stray metal cannot resist the allure of its spiraling depths, for they easily let themselves be swept away by the tornado of water. And walking towards them was Rain, spinning another dagger in her hand and singing the same elegy. Her eyes twinkle mischievously, aiming her gaze at the white-haired scientist, as if she's daring him to insult her again.

"Can't hear? Deaf, maybe?" He mumbled to himself as he approached the man that surrendered. He looked at him from top to bottom, gauging his worth. "Maybe he can be of some use..." He thought to himself.

"Sit." He pointed down as his chains grabbed a piece of debris and sat on it. He grabbed a piece of cloth nearby and some charcoal from a burnt campfire, a makeshift way to communicate with the man.

"What are you doing here?" He wrote it down in the language of the humans and passed him the piece of cloth and charcoal if he wished to communicate better.

Despite what the priest said earlier, Phantom wouldn't just let his fear get in the way of taking care of a patient...or that was what he was chanting in his head to keep a small percentage of composure. Phantom certainly considered Ivy a comrade, not a friend just yet since they have only met recently.

"A-alright," Phantom answered and he climbed on to Aragorn's back and the priest hid his face as best as he could. It helped a bit if Phantom didn't see the take off, but when the dragons actually took flight, he screamed from the dragon's movement. A scream so shrill and high-pitched that he felt bad for Ivy's ears.

"WHY?" Phantom screamed before biting his tongue and just making that strange whimpering sound. He clung onto Aragorn as tightly as he could and tried to distract himself from the naked feeling. Like noting how Aragorn's scales felt, or how the dragon smelt, and then Phantom noticed something so major that he wondered for a second why he didn't notice sooner.

Xiopetec's silence.

That just made Phantom really nauseous and he groaned. "I think I'm gonna vomit," he whined as his skin started to take a green hue.

Lento watched the elf sit down and write something on the ground. He crouched and looked over the words formed by the charcoal. "What am I doing here, huh?"
Lento thought to himself that he had nothing to lose by saying what he was looking for, after all, if the blood monster was released, it would mean bad news for everyone, no one would be able to fight it when everyone was this tired.

Lento took the cloth and charcoal and wrote his answer:

"I'm looking for a magical seal, the one that seals away the blood monster."

He extended the piece of cloth to the elf, carefully observing the demons that surrounded them. Some of them looked ready to jump on him. "Lara, I might need backup."

"Dust is the only threat in front of you, if you see him turn hostile, I'll come. No need to contact me again."
"Alright. Diplomacy is not my forte, and I don't think I will be able to fight soon."
"Your wounds are still taking a toll on your capacities, huh? Got it, I'll be nearby."

"Hmph," went Add. At least their new ally was doing something useful.

Carna was thinking of something. Almost as if he was unfazed by the recent attack, he brought up a screen to check if there was a network in the area. He was thinking if it was possible to hack into the mainframe's network of Return Plains and disable every Nasods at once. He found that there was no stable network to work with since most of the Nasods were controlled, or their connection to the network was damaged. Nonetheless, he hacked into the network and disabled some security measures of the Plains.

"There...I disabled some of the security measures in the network. Strangely, this place has a workable network. It's damaged severely, but still works," he said. He could probably use this method in the future when they approach the Nasod Core below Altera.

"This place still has a mainframe? Talk about a fucking strange network to place here. So, did you look at the algorithms of the controlled Nasods?" asked Add before he took a look at the screen. "Brute force algorithms? Damn, what a fucked up parasite and also...complex."

"They're still connected to the network and that's how they infect every Nasods in this place. There's a possibility I could disable every Nasods in this place with a virus antidote."

"Hoh, you haven't rusted, brother."

"Ah...Daevas. Mean ones, but great forces to have in our army. Prove yourself to them and they can lend you a hand, make a contract with him and you'll pay the price." He thought to himself as he looked at the man in question.

"I know where he is, I personally sealed him away by my predecessors orders. I can tell you where he is in this place, but I'm gonna need to ask of you to do something for me. It might... Save or kill the people of Feita, if you don't have enough speed in those legs." He gave the cloth back, all with a small speck of emotion in his eyes.

"This might be the only chance that I can do things my way in this place. Either this bastard can run fast enough and prevent another war or it will begin." He thought to himself, having another war will greatly affect morale from both sides and then if a third party joins in, massive amounts of corpses will fill the lands for sure. He was just being careful without being caught.

Lento frowned at the man's written words. Elf or not, he was planning to do something horrible to his town. He concentrated a small part of his mana and burnt the piece of cloth. He got up and unsheathed his weapon, glaring at the commander. The demons readied their weapons, and Lento slashed some of the ground to form a message to the elf.
"I won't let you touch my town, demon commander."

"I'll...defend..my town...from you. All of...you."

"You're playing with fire. Sheath that claymore, Lento. There are way too many demons around for both of us to deal with."
"You, of all people, saying that...there must be more than I expected, or simply more powerful ones looming over my head..."
Lara fell silent and Lento sheathed his blade again.
"Do..nod take it...as war. Ever...one needs a zease...fire"

"A ceasefire? Does he even know that there's no way that we can back up?"
"Not only headstrong, but ungrateful that we didn't simply jumped at him. Humans truly are arrogant."
The soldiers protested towards the deaf human, that couldn't understand them in anyway.

Dust grabbed another piece of cloth and with big words showed to him. "We can't. You have 45 minutes to take the people out of there before my circle is activated. Fail and they die, succeed and they live. I'd hurry if I were you." He wasn't fooling around with a simple human. Best way to finish this, was with a life threatening ultimatum.

He wrote more on it before showing it again on his shocked face. "If you succeed or fail but still live, I'll leave in this spot instructions on finding what you're looking for. Now start running."

"Add was always hard to impress. It took me predicting every event that happened in Hamel to get him to acknowledge me...but no matter."

She hears Oblivio and Add discussing the network of Return Plains, things that bored her mind greatly. She walks over to Rena, who is also somewhat confused over their conversation.

"T-That was amazing..."

"This is nothing for me. Now, come on. I know a place where we can find more of these controlled Nasods. There is something blocking the way of it though, so we'll have to break through."

Rena follows her immediately, already gifted with the knowledge of Rain's story to prove her trust. Raven, on the other hand, takes a few seconds to think about the situation. Just who is he dealing with? One moment, this girl doesn't attack, and now, she had displayed a level of power that easily trumps anything he had ever seen. "She might be leading us to a trap, for all I know." That doesn't make sense though. He remembers his conversation with her when they first interacted.
...
"T-Thank you." He takes the glass of water from the woman's hand and gulfs it greedily. The extravagantly dressed dancer takes a chair beside his bed and sits down quietly, waiting for something.

"S-So, who are you?"

"I'm Rain. An ally. I'm assuming you remember what happened to you?"

Raven nods slowly, vaguely recalling the battle between him and that dark elf. In the fog of his memories, he distinctly recalls a lone girl.

"Ser-"

"That's not Seris. She's dead. What you saw is Rena, a forest elf."

The blow hits him hard. "H-How do you know that?" Immediately, he's on his guard. How does this stranger know his history, much less that battle? From what he knows, no blue-haired girl was present. "I know your story by heart, Raven Cronwell. Betrayed by your best friend, forced to watch the ones you love die right in front of you...it's a tragic tale."

"Have we met before?"

"Who knows? Maybe we have, maybe we haven't."

Her answers are purposely vague. The thin stare of her unnatural eyes draws him in, wanting to sink into her darkness. Her voice snaps him out of his daze. "What are you going to do now? Normally, you would want to repent for the sins you have committed by joining the El Search Party, but no such thing exists in this world."

She even read his desires. Raven's mind concluded that she must be some prophet, but even then, the level of accuracy in her words are far too great. It's like she had been through this before.

"I still intend to repent. What that dark elf said...I wish to honor that." His words makes Rain smile, and she slowly stands up to stretch her arm out.

"Then let me show you how you can do that. You need to catch up to the rest of us, after all."
...

"So, Rain...you told me that the Rena you knew took the exact same path as I did. Does that mean that we share the same fighting style?"

"That's right. She was a Wind Sneaker, which is what you'll become soon."

"Do you think you can help me train? My brother used to be my teacher, but now he's..."

Rain sees the shift in her expression, one that's dangerous for what they're trying to accomplish. She sighs as she replies, answering her in a soft voice. "I'll help you, but I'm not a very good teacher."

"I'm sure we can think of something!"

Raven, who had just finished his recollections, finds himself staring at the elf's back. No matter how many times he wants to deny it, Rena does look like his deceased fiancee. He maneuvers around the puddles of water that Rain left behind to catch up to the two females. They jump down a small cliff and finds themselves greeted with a giant lone driller.

Lento looked down on the message and his eyes widened. Dust was indeed a cold demon, but if he didn't stand a chance, it would be better to retreat...but to where? There would nothing to return to. Every town was overrun by demons. Velder wasn't an option and Bethma or Elder were too far away. It was a dead end. But what guarantee did he have that the demon wasn't bluffing?

"He isn't one to bluff, I'll tell you that. Ever since I teleported here, I have sensed a strange aura coming from the town. A dangerous one. Gather the townspeople, I'll buy you time."
"How would you even...*sigh* If you can do that, I'd be grateful. I'll gather the villagers the best I can."
Feita's blacksmith nodded and dashed at a superhuman speed towards Feita. At his return, many were surprised to see him back, many pronounced his name and gathered around him, but he remained silent. Lento went directly to Allegro's shop and took a piece of paper to explain to him the gist of the mess they were in.
"You're the leader now, Allegro. I can't hear any longer. Tell the villagers and follow me."

Allegro was happy for his return but he understood that it was not the time to rejoice yet. Time was running out and Lento knew the only way to save his people: Lara's world.

Minutes were ticking by.

Lara
She leapt down where the demon forces were and walked casually by, pushing the demon soldiers who attacked her without injuring them severely. She had her green-haired appearance on so none of the soldiers recognized her as the Dark Water Priestess.

"And so the new commander has arisen! It's been a while, chained man."

He looked back to see who appeared and he was surprised that Tureen came out of nowhere, his soldiers were slightly injured. He frowned at it, but he'd be linear enough to let it slide just once.

"And a dead woman still walks. It has been sometime, Tureen." He responded back to her, not a smile on his face.

"Sir, what should we-" He raised his hand to silence them.

"Give us a moment. She's... An acquaintance of mine." He explained to them, before gathering the wounded and doing what they were told. "So then Tureen, word shouldn't have gone around that fast about my new position. So either you just got notified by one of us, you got info by someone that you know or... You got it by that Henir energy that's oozing out of you." Her eyes fluttered for a second.

"But then, the question that comes now is a simple one. Why are you here now?" He asked with suspicion on his eyes towards the priestess. "And take down that illusion, that isn't the real you that I'm seeing, is it."

Aisha
Since the group’s departure, Aisha went ahead to fill in information to Cornelius as the dragon doesn’t seem to know how much has changed. The two shared a good conversation, Cornelius listening to the mage as she talked to him about any recent events when they were in hiding. Aisha take notice that Cornelius was a very good listener, the dark dragon always nodding his head and making a few comments from what he heard. She was curious about his personal life, mostly whether he had a rider or not but it was likely a touchy subject.

Often Cornelius would try to beckon Athena to come closer, yet the yellow dragon would stay where she is, still moving around her wings. It was a sad sight so they left her be.

“You know, the gods are rather...cruel,” Cornelius suddenly mumbled.

“Cruel? ...well, I guess you’re right about that,” Aisha said. Throughout their conversations, Aisha brought books over to read for the dragon. Yet apparently Cornelius had a very sharp eye for text. It was a shame he lost an eye.

“Tell me mage...what or who do you fight for in this war?”

Aisha paused from flipping through pages and look back at Cornelius. The dragon had a strange stare on her, studying her almost. “I...” It was strange for him to ask her, the stare he was giving made her hesitant and unsure.

“...It’s fine if you don’t have the answer. Not everyone has an answer...that what makes it a good question,” Cornelius sighed. “I too don’t know what I strive for in the end but...I hope for peace.” He paused for a moment, leaning down to inspect a book. Aisha slowly nodded her heads, quietly thinking to herself. Cornelius let out another soft sigh, laying his head down to rest. “Still hurts...”

Aisha knows he wasn’t talking about his healed injuries.

Xavier
“If you make a mess on my back then I’m dropping you,” Aragorn snapped.

“Peace, Aragorn, ease your temper,” Octavia scolded the fire dragon.

“Hell I don’t let anyone ride on me except Xavier so feel special for once,” the upset dragon growled. “We’re almost there anyways.”

He was right. At first when leaving behind Feita, Ivy became a bit lost of direction so both Aragorn and Octavia had to guide her through. Yet as time goes by, Ivy slowly began to take lead as she sensed a new energy source. Xavier hoped that the island will heal Ivy or at least make her feel less miserable than she is right now. They past through the clouds, everyone got getting partially wet and Ivy perked up her head.

“There,” she said quietly for everyone’s attention. It took a couple of seconds for everyone to clearly see the island that was coming to view. Yet it was so large that it look like an entirely new land. Xavier smiled slightly in excitement as they pushed forward.

“So where we land?” Xavier asked curiously to the dragons.

“Anywhere that is safe and got trees around,” Aragorn said as he squinted his eyes as they got closer.

“I am just a bit amazed that Ivy is handling this long. I was afraid she would drop before we even get there,” Octavia sighed as Ivy offered a weak smile.

As they were near to the land, Ivy suddenly started to drop. Both dragons stopped in alarm as Ivy was falling towards the land.

“Damn it!” Aragorn yelled in surprise.

Xavier whistled at Komodo who was safely clinged on his back and the small dragon hopped right off and dive down to Ivy. Ivy seem to starting to lose her energy, trying to open up her wings which caused her to glide further more yet spiraling down when she lost control of the wind. Komodo kept trying to help or even poke her awake but she was too weak to respond. Octavia was ready to dive in after yet suddenly Xavier got up and jumped right off.

“Xavier?!” The blue dragon shouted loudly.

Xavier wasn’t one to jump off a dragon in mid flight but it happened. Almost subconsciously. Yet he knew what to do. Komdo was alarmed that Xavier was in the air with him but he was ready to help with a steady gaze. With a series of whistles, Komodo helped to push Ivy around so she was at least diving nose first. Xavier had to reposition himself onto her back, holding onto her vines and focusing hard at the back of his mind.

‘Come now, Ivy. Spread out those wings...’ Xavier prayed to himself, having a hand on the top of her head. Komodo shrieked in alarm as they were getting closer to the ground, yet Xavier focused harder with what Ishmael strengthed in him.

Ivy eventually jerked live yet alarm as she open her wings and avoiding behind smashed into the ground. Yet she was flying wildly, her head wiping around in alarm as Xavier tried to keep it steady. They were moving fast through the area, Ivy focusing her wings to slow down as Xavier was continuously focusing his own energy to keep Ivy moving. Yet it had a strange affect between the two, Xavier can feel how weak she was as Ivy seem to be very uncoordinated with her flying.

Nearby trees were snapping off as they got closer down and Xavier wasn’t sure why Ivy was acting so...wild with her wings. Yet within seconds, they crashed into the ground, Xavier got launched off as Ivy’s body rolled through the area, the dragon seem to gone limp after Xavier was off. He rolled around as well, shouting out a series of curses as Komodo was flying after him. The dragon had to dive in and tug Xavier’s pants as he was getting near to a cliff, fearing he would fall. Komodo’s help worked in the end, nearly tumbling along with his trainer but helped Xavier from going any further.

Xavier was now flat on his back, letting out coughs. His heart was beating fast but after turning his head towards where Ivy lays, the small sign of her breathing was enough for him to let out a shaky laugh.

“Aha...nailed it,” Xavier said in a tired voice, through a fist in the air yet it fell back to the ground. Komodo chirped in response...with a tear of clothing in his mouth. It took a while for Xavier to notice that something was missing and yet the dead look of the trainer’s eyes doesn’t seem to dampen up Komodo’s happiness for helping out.

It took Xavier awhile to get up and inspect what exactly Komodo managed to rip off from him as the two other dragons rushed down to check on them.

"A contaminated driller, huh..." observed Carna. He watched as his group approached the driller, ready to bring it down. Something was off about this. There was something wrong with the driller. It wasn't connected to the corrupted mainframe at all, it was a complete standalone. Normally, that would make the driller itself weak because it wasn't connected to a network...

So why was it oozing confidence? The driller glowered at the group, almost as if it was conscious. Nasod was a sentient race, to begin with, so this would make sense. He observed the driller from afar and gained concerned calls from his group. But he couldn't shake off that feeling. Something was wrong. Something was off. He finally realized what it was. Carna aimed his assault rifle at the driller's head and pulled the trigger before it could react. When he blasted off the moss on its head, it revealed something behind it.

"No..." There was a familiar pattern on the head; a pattern he knew too well as it had impacted him his entire life. It was a pattern of Henir. The driller was controlled by a corrupted parasite. This was a bad situation to be in. He knew full well he couldn't hack into the driller and change its course, it was going to attack the group with all its might. He was confident that they could take the driller down, but what hidden abilities could the driller have?

Why was it here...? Why now? He thought Hennon had said that they would leave him alone as long as he didn't trouble the Order. Unless they knew his plans to destroy Henir and the Gods, then that was plausible. However, only Dust and he knew about it. He ruled out the possibility of the Order interfering with his group, but it was terrifying to think of something else.

Without waiting for him to reason, the driller charged forth to attack.

"I-Is this-?!"

"Scatter! Raven, with me!" Rain summons a gate of daggers behind her, which then pelts against the tough shell of the driller. Even though one would think it won't do much, the Nasod actually staggers back, and Raven rushes forward, firing bullet after bullet to help. He bashes his sword against the moss-covered belt that it calls its feet, hoping to unsettle it. The singer unleashes another song, but this time, it's more upbeat like a festive tune. The weapon taker feels himself move faster with her song, as if he's following the beat. She dashes towards the driller, slashing at the thinly covered areas of its body with wickedly curved daggers, and notices the strange marking that Oblivio had exposed.

"Henir's mark? That's not good. What is it doing here?"

The worst possible scenario is that Oblivio will think that she purposefully led them here. Even though she's practically condensed Henir energy in human form (she's not really human), she bears no ill will towards them, at least not yet.

"How bothersome...I'm going to enjoy shredding this to pieces!"

"Hah!" Rena launches herself into the air and delivers a three kick succession to the driller's head. It remains unfazed, and the gun attached to its back aims a bullet at the elf. Rena tries to run back to avoid the blast, but it explodes in her face, sending her back a few feet. Rain, while continuing to sing, form two chains of water that connects her curved daggers to her bare hands. She wraps one of them around the massive drill, and they engage in a tug of war to unbalance each other.

"Tch..." The Nasod is being rather stubborn. Rena bolts to the exposed stomach of the machine and plants a harsh back kick. She then spins to the sky, somersault kicking up its body. The drill threatens to snap Rain's chain and bash against the elf, so Rena ends her combo with a dive kick to its neck. Using the momentum of her final attack, she flips backwards to Raven's side.

The driller recovers from Rena's attacks fairly quickly. It bears its eyes at Oblivio and then to Rain. It releases a mechanical creak and begins to ooze Henir energy.

This was a serious situation they have gotten themselves into. The driller was oozing dark energy throughout the area, no doubt corroding the environment. Something started to appear from the pool of dark energy--

"Everyone, get back!" yelled Carna, warning everyone to get away from the dark energy pool. Everyone jumped away from the dark pool as the driller was no longer attacking. The stink of dark energy emanated from the substance, but it was a strange sort of smell. It radiated into the nostrils, stinging it with an unpleasant feeling. This was, no doubt, Henir's energy that was being exposed. His older brother managed to fly back to a higher ground level and away from the pool.

The unknown object was being materialized from the dark energy, oozing a gloopy mess. It was floating in the air by the time it formed, a metre above the corroding ground. To Carna's horror, it was shaped similar to an eye--no, it was an eye. It opened its eyelids, revealing eerie patterns and a pupil. The eye was staring at the group but then focused on Carna.

"Child..."

"What are you doing here, Henir?!"

"I have come to pick you up."

Carna said nothing but felt instant fear from the God's words. He didn't want to be afraid like this anymore, but there he was. Frozen in place. He gritted his teeth and gathered all the courage he had left in him. No God was going to be toying with his life anymore. He wasn't anyone's toy!

"I am not your zealot anymore, Henir. There's no fucking way I'm coming back to your side!"

"You will find that you have no choice. That experiment, 300 years ago, that you were involved in had a singular purpose. To create a weapon capable of destroying those who've ascended into godhood. If you really plan to create a godless world, you will find that this deal is in your favour. Come with me...and I shall complete what you are."

Lara shrugged and looked around the tense demons around her.
"You must understand that I need to keep my low profile to move around, so don't nag too much on appearances."

She showed her horn necklace, that she now used as a bracelet, and continued: "This should be a good proof for you to hear me out. I suppose one of your men was told to retrieve it and you have my thanks for that."

Some veterans looked at the horn curiously, it reminded them of Berthe's own horn. Some necromancers even felt an aura similar to their previous leader emanate from the woman called Tureen. They kept only whispering among them until Lara turned a cold stare at them, one they were familiar with but also feared. They weren't certain, but some of the soldiers thought the woman had at least some connection to Berthe and fell silent.

"You are a good leader, aren't you? That's good, you know when to withdraw for battle. But I guess that coming empty-handed doesn't sit well with other demons. So you must have a plan B, one that would make them all happy regardless of the outcome of your battle against dragons, gods, mages and human soldiers."

She looked at Dust again, he looked a little puzzled, and she continued in a polite tone: "It doesn't matter if I'm right or wrong about that, but there's something off if I'm right. You let a human live, promise him power and an opportunity to save anyone he can. How does that work out? My only guess is that you'll turn that human into another Dark Priest. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm sure you're at least somewhat merciful. I'm just here to have a little chat, it has been ages since we met. We've even gained power from unconventional sources during that time, haven't we?"

She got her left hand up and summoned a dome of light.
"Sky...Burial."
She put more of her mana into it to propel a cloud of small golems, undetectable by the senses and any magic but Henir's, out of the dome to find the source of danger in Feita and neutralize it. The dome covered the whole temple and healed completely the mildly wounded while stabilizing the condition of the most severely wounded. Some of her hand's blood vessels palpitated uncontrollably before tearing her skin and exploding, leaving a trail of purple blood on the ground. Lara frowned in pain and disintegrated the dome, letting the night's veil cover once more where they were.
"Ah...I might've gone a little overboard." She touched a part of the rubble and turned it into ashes with her wounded hand, which allowed it to regenerate instantly. Lara looked around to see that the wounded were, for the most part, standing with a new strength. "It looks like I did my job, although I don't heal for a living. Your men look ready for another fight, don't they? On the other side, they're all sleeping, wounded or on the run. They think you're also mending your wounds. No one would expect an attack right now, it would be your perfect chance." She rubbed her chin, as if she was thinking about what she might say next. Then, she lifted her index up, as if she had found a solution to the puzzle. "But...you just made a deal with that human. What will prevail, I wonder: your promise with a future asset or your duties towards the demons."
