    As you embark on this journey, you are stepping into a pivotal moment in our species’ history. The Earth, once a thriving sanctuary for life, has become increasingly inhospitable, plagued by pollution and looming food shortages. Scientists predict that within the next decade, these challenges could lead to the end of humanity as we know it.

    This harsh reality is the result of our collective choices, but you, the chosen travelers, have been granted an extraordinary opportunity to escape this fate. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Bluebell Corp and the unprecedented cooperation of nations worldwide, a new chapter for humanity awaits.

    Together, these great powers set aside their differences to construct an elite space vessel, designed to transport the brightest minds of our generation to a new world—XR34G9. This planet boasts an atmosphere remarkably similar to that of Earth and has shown promising signs that life can thrive on its surface.

    Plot:
    In this roleplay, the characters are the last surviving members of the human race, thrust into a world where Earth can no longer sustain life. They are the best and brightest in their respective fields—scientists, educators, military personnel, trackers, and more—charged with the monumental task of colonizing the distant planet known as XR34G9.

    As they embark on this new adventure, the characters will soon discover that XR34G9 is fraught with peril, teeming with dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, along with unexpected challenges that will test their ingenuity and resilience.

    While striving to establish a new home in this alien environment, they must also navigate the complexities of their relationships with one another. Conflicts, alliances, and personal dramas will arise, offering ample opportunity for character development and intricate subplots to unfold.

    Together, they must learn not only how to survive the dangers of XR34G9 but also how to coexist and thrive as a team in this uncharted territory. Their journey will be one of discovery, both of the world around them and of the bonds that will shape their future.


    Rules:
    1. Please listen to the thread owner. Whether it be asking you to change something for the health of the rp and our community or enforcing a rule, my word is final and I would appreciate it if you didn't fight me. I never aim to make this a dictatorship but I do want it to remain a healthy environment for all.

    2. Please do not attempt to claim a job or Lead role already being used unless given special permission by the rper who has claimed it! Duplicates are only acceptable if approved by both the original rper and the thread owner! (Weird rule but due to past experiences I feel the need to state it hehe)

    3. You may have as many characters as you like so long as you can handle the number of characters you decide to have. If you repeatedly slack with posts I will require characters to be removed from the rp!

    4. Keep characters realistic. Be sure to give it some sort of weakness.

    5. Please keep face claims realistic and respectful.

    6. Any large plots or minor plots that have to do with the main plot I would like to please be run past me. I want to ensure that we aren't randomly throwing things in that throw everything off the deep end haha. Small personal plots that have little to do with the larger plot can stay between rpers and I encourage this because it makes things fun and exciting to have surprises unfold.

    7. This will be an advanced RP so please be sure to write at least 3 well written paragraphs per character.

    8. As we want to keep this thread alive, you'll be expected to post at least every 2-3 weeks. I understand real life comes up so please just keep communicating with me so I know you haven't ditched. If I do not hear from you for a while and I don't hear back after pinging you I will likely remove your character from the rp and open their position. As I said, just keep me in the loop and I will try to work with you.

    9. We are looking to have characters be in their 20s and 40s due to the fact that they are supposed to be the top of their fields but still able to survive the new and untamed world.

    10. If I feel uncomfortable with a situation and ask you to change it, please do so without arguing.

    11. If your characters have cybernetic or genetic enhancements please include some sort of drawback to them, makes things more interesting.

    12. Please follow all RPN rules. No discrimination of any kind will be tolerated.

Appearance: Kenna is a captivating young woman whose striking beauty commands attention. Her high cheekbones and lush lips frame a perfectly sculpted jawline that tapers to a pointed chin, giving her an air of elegance. Her fair, smooth skin beautifully complements the naturally rosy hue of her lips. Long, ebony hair cascades down her back in gentle waves, though it can easily be straightened for a different look. Her almond-shaped sky-blue eyes are framed by long, dark lashes, exuding both warmth and intrigue. With a slim yet curvaceous build, Kenna is both fit and graceful, boasting long, toned legs that add to her striking presence. While she carries some scars—remnants of her past and the attack that cost her arms—these only enhance her resilience and story. Her cybernetic arms, crafted from incredibly durable and advanced metals in shades of silver, white, and black, are among her most distinctive features. Personality: One way to describe Kenna is that she is a big sister to basically everyone she meets. She has spent so much of her life trying to prove to others that she has what it takes to take care of her little brother so many of the traits required have simply become a strong part of her personality. She is patient and trustworthy with those who need such support and has earned themselves a place in her heart. She would stand by them on the darkest of nights and walk through hell and back for someone she cares about without hesitation. She also knows how to keep others motivated and work towards making improvements to that which needs to be improved while also calling attention to things done well so others feel appreciated. It might seem a bit hard to get to that side of her when you first meet her though since oftentimes she is very professional, quiet, and more interested in observing than interacting with others. This should not be taken personally because it stems from the fact that Kenna is simply socially awkward, especially when meeting new people. She has always found that she understands machines better than other humans and spends so long observing how another person might work because she is trying to figure out the social situation as though the person were a machine. Once she gets to know you this awkwardness disappears for the most part and she will act very comfortable and affectionate. Especially when around machines Kenna is extremely creative and always coming up with new and better ways to upgrade devices. She can become very consumed by her work and lose herself for hours or days on one project which usually means no sleeping or eating. It is during these times of hyper fixation that she tends to truly slack at caring for herself but will still make sure to tend to the needs of others. One thing that should be known above all else is that Kenna will do whatever it takes to keep her little brother safe. She will go mama bear mode the moment he is in danger and getting in her path is a great way to end up with a wrench to the side of the head.

Pre-Colony Occupation: She was actually one of the minds behind the ships for the colony. She was a mechanical engineer who owned her own highly successful shop and made restoring older machines and vehicles a personal hobby. When the concept of the colony and ship came into play, she was recruited to help design and build the ships, her ideas and input becoming highly valued as she made several possibly lifesaving improvements. She knows these ships inside and out as well as what parts of them can be used to help a colony survive on the planets surface.

Specialty: Her overall specialty is mechanics. She can design, build, or fix just about any machine she sets her eyes on. She started down this road by working in her father’s motorcycle repair shop before he and her mother passed away. Her mind seemed to be hardwired to see each part of a machine and how it works. She perfected her trade through school and work experience, acting as a nomad for a time and traveling around to work in different shops with different masters. She eventually opened her own shop so she could settle down and take care of her little brother who was finally released into her care.

Cyber/Genetic Enhancements: After being attacked and having her arms and hands broken beyond repair Kenna managed to scrape together the funds to have her hands replaced with cyber prosthetics. They make up her arms from just above her elbows down and in each arm, she has an array of tools for her job that can either appear through her fingers or become her entire hand. While useful they do have the drawback of providing no real sense of touch. She can no longer feel the heat or cold and has to have a dial on her wrist tell her how hot or cold something is. She will no longer know what it is like to feel someone else’s hand in hers, the warmth of her skin, the cold of snow, the pain of cutting her finger. It makes her feel less human at times.

Personal effects: She brought an old and useless pair of keys that once belonged to her father’s motorcycle. His bike was one of the first things she ever repaired and she did it all with him at her side. Ever since the day he died (was killed) she had carried them on a chain around her neck so she would always have a piece of him with her. He died when she was 16 during the same attack that left her arms destroyed.

History: Growing up in the brutal world of the inner cities didn't make for an easy childhood but then again very few were blessed with an easy childhood on a dying earth. Every day was a struggle not only for food or for access to clean air filters in order to survive outside of filtered spaces but for life in general. It wasn't just a given that you would get to see tomorrow, growing up Kenna learned that she would never truly know when the last time she would see a friend or a family member would be. It was all too easy for the cruel world to snatch them up and eat them whole, never to be seen or heard from again. With so much of the city in ruins, it was only really those who lived in the domes that had the luxury of any police force to depend on, everyone else was just out for themselves and needed to find a gang to run with or a place to fortify and hide. If you had skills then you were less likely to be targeted for organ trade but more likely to be a target for skill trade, a fancy way to say slavery. Kenna's father was an engineer by trade and taught her much of what she knew though he tried to keep her skills which grew to surpass him a secret. He bore the mark of the Kruger Family but not as kin. He was their property, available to provide them with his services whenever they needed whether it be in the middle of the night or when he was nearly suffocating from sickness brought on from too much exposure without an air filter. While it meant he and the rest of their family was considered safe from other gangs there lives were certainly far from a walk in the park. (To be continued)

Personality: Andrew Schirmer, more often referred to as "Mr Schirmer" by the colonists, is a quiet man. His fellow security officers know that he isn't the stone wall that others perceive him as, and have witnessed occasions of laughter and even cheerfulness from him. However, many find it difficult to get to know his personality. That being said, he has shown a genuine concern for not only the physical safety of the crew and colonists but also for their emotional well-being. He is soft-spoken and listens attentively to others, whoever they may be. There is a gentleness to Mr Schirmer that isn't too hard to spot.

Cyber/Genetic Enhancements: Mr Schirmer has extensive implants in his musculature and nervous system, affording him increased reaction speeds and accuracy with weapons. Unfortunately, his body has not taken well to the implants and they cause a great deal of pain in his arms, shoulders, neck, and head.

History: Although Andrew Schirmer's record shows that he was a German anthropologist of some renown before joining Bluebell Corp's mission, there are not many details. A notation states that he studied the development of human culture in relationship to nature, another that he has extensive experience in hostile environments. He and his son Rolf were involved in the project from rather early on in the selection process.

His record shows that he joined as an anthropologist, then trained with the scouts for over a year, before finally being reassigned to security shortly before the final departure from Earth. Security teams required more personnel and several scouts were moved to security positions. Schirmer's record is clean, tight, and not very informative.

Those with access would find his psychological profile to be sound, but extensive medical records relating to complications with his implants, beginning with their rather sudden insertion when he was reassigned to security. People who know Mr Schirmer would know him as reliable, quiet, and perhaps kind.

History: Although Andrew Schirmer's record shows that he was a German anthropologist of some renown before joining Bluebell Corp's mission, there are not many details. A notation states that he studied the development of human culture in relationship to nature, another that he has extensive experience in hostile environments. He and his son Rolf were involved in the project from rather early on in the selection process.

His record shows that he joined as an anthropologist, then trained with the scouts for over a year, before finally being reassigned to security shortly before the final departure from Earth. Security teams required more personnel and several scouts were moved to security positions. Schirmer's record is clean, tight, and not very informative.

Those with access would find his psychological profile to be sound, but extensive medical records relating to complications with his implants, beginning with their rather sudden insertion when he was reassigned to security. People who know Mr Schirmer would know him as reliable, quiet, and perhaps kind.

History: Nahimana was born on a reservation. She believes she was abandoned by her parents as that is what she was told her entire life. She grew up raised by the community but she was never able to form a close connection to anyone. Her ability to connect deeply on an interpersonal level was somewhat developmental disabled by being separated from her parents at such an early age. However, the communal living she experienced made her very adaptable and compassionate, even if she has a hard time forming connections. Nahimana learned much about agriculture and animal husbandry in her youth and it became her passion to protect the wilderness she loved and its inhabitants. Eventually, Nahimana would earn her masters in animal biology and environmental science. She became a top name in her field but as looked at with suspicion due to her inability to form relationships with her colleagues.

When her parents influence landed an offer to study a foreign planet on her desk, Nora jumped at the chance to contribute to science under her own power.

Pale-skinned and raven-haired, Valkyrie is scarred from both combat incursions as well as a multitude of cybernetic inlays throughout her body. The most recognizable of the latter is her Ocular-Cranial graft, complete with a cybernetic left eye.

Personality: Prickly and detached, Valkyrie is not sociable by any means. She is practical and cold, constantly calculating threats and investigating her best plan of action. Molded to the life of a Clan Seeker, Val trusts nothing but her own capacity. She is loyal to a cause, but not to people. To her, personnel are assets to achieve an end result. And whether she is terminating those assets or protecting them is a matter of situational derivative. In the case of the colony, their intended goal is to survive and prosper, which leaves a rather nebulous question as to what the best course of Val's actions could be to usher that goal forward.

History:
Born as a refugee in the wastelands of what was once the Sino-Russian border and Eastern Mongolia, Valkyrie was one of thousands of prototype Clan Seekers used in the feuding Clan Wars ensued after the world governments of that region lost their territories to insurgents that could not hold their newly acquired seat of power. After several generations of failed field agents crafted out of adult soldiers, the varying Clan Houses began introducing combat cybernetics and their intrinsic phyco-conditioning modules to children. after a few years of trial and error, a stable solution was found, and the badlands of the Gobi Desert became Site 01 for the first successful fielding of these adolescent killing machines.

Not soldiers, and not assassins, these Clan Seekers were loosed into the war-ravaged wilderness and given simple directives: Survive, and Exterminate.
Essentially, they operated alone, dispersed sporadically enough so that contact with one another was not likely. However, incidents did eventually occur where the Seekers would find and engage one another, an event that could only lead to the outcome of one or both Clan Seekers being killed. The Clan Wars waged for decades before the Russian and Chinese governments resolved enough power in the region to dissolve most of the clans and force the largest powers to come to a territorial truce. By this point, Valkyrie has been operational for several years, having been grafted and conditioned as a child aged into what is estimated to be her early 20s. With no more official need for Clan Seekers, the Clans liquidated most of their assets. However, their most successful and efficient agents were put in clandestine stasis.

As the years wore on, the world fell into deeper and deeper crisis, to the point that it'd doom was recognized as inevitable. When the Bluebell Cooperative put out the call for the world's best and brightest, the remnant of Valkyrie's Clan House, Haadia, sought to breach her from her dormant sate and nominate her for the programme. Eventually, they gained an audience with a panel of administration responsible for selection. The Clan had put Valkyrie on a simulated mission to exemplify her capabilities, as well as submitted documentation that had previously been sealed and redacted. This documentation detailed all of her wetworks, showing her involvement in several notable sorties that had shifted regional power back and frth furing the course of her service in the Clan Wars.

With much deliberation, the panel decided that they would admit Valkyrie to the project, on the condition that she be implanted with a Pacifier Module. This device, imbedded into the back of her cranium, would render Valkyrie temporarily inert when specific words were spoken aloud, or when a very specific sound wave was emitted in a predetermined pattern. The parameters of this safety measure would be detailed to the crew captain and other officers in a briefing before setting out on their long journey. Valkyrie, in turn, would not be woken from cryo-stasis until after they arrived on-planet, as her conditioning would not fare well to be active and enclosed with the rest of the crew. Once acclimated and sent out from the colony, Valkyrie would need to periodically report in, both to deliver her recon as well as to swap out various filters and nanite packs in her body. Her purpose and role are the defense of the colony perimeter, as well as to seek out new resources. Otherwise, she has latent parameters to undertake specific tasks handed down from the colony administration.

Alright, now it's almost done, as in, the only thing that I don't like about it is the image size of the face claim but I'm also too tired to work it out tonight. I got all the other information up there, soooo I guess this is my submission. I hope that’s okay. Thank you for bearing with me, especially with me accidentally posting the character sheet, because I was reaching over my laptop to get to my phone... definitely not my best moment, haha.

Oh and also, this isn't really mobile friendly. It gets a little better though if you have/hold your phone horizontally

Personality: Keagan is deeply empathetic, caring almost too much at times, which she fears others will exploit. This empathy fuels her kindness and unwavering loyalty to those she cares about. However, her upbringing has taught her that people tend to exploit these traits for personal gain. Because of that she learned to be highly independent and to guard her emotions, leading her to keep others at a distance. She projects an image of calm composure, but in truth, she’s often anything but. This emotional detachment, born from her need to protect herself, sometimes results in self-sabotage, as she pushes away those who want to get close.

History: Keagan was born to Cyrus and Elara Xypherion back on Earth. Her father is the CEO for Xypherion Industries and her mother the founder of Vesper innovations. The status of her parents placed Keagan in a position of great wealth and power. Ever since she was small, she went to the best schools in the country. Her family also lives in a penthouse on Xypherion tower, with the best air purifying system in the world, hoping to escape some of the polluted air of Earth.

But unfortunately, not even the best air purifying system helped Keagan. Because she was born and living in pollution and toxic fumes like that, she developed severe asthma, getting treated for it ever since she passed out in P.E. during warm-up exercises when she was 10 years old. Luckily, she generally manages to manage her symptoms quite well now.

After graduating High School, she started studying (subject that will fit with her "apprenticeship", which is obviously up for discussion) at university. Then one day, her parents came to her with a once in a lifetime opportunity for her: They knew people in the right places and got her a spot on a ship to colonize a new planet. Needless to say Keagan was less than excited for this, and wanted to refuse to go. She didn't want to leave her family and her life like that, but with a bit of convincing from her parents, she ended up agreeing to it, so she could carry on the Xypherion Family legacy.

Keagan is quite interested in photography. On earth, she often used a camera drone to fly around and take pictures of anything that seemed interesting to her. Before leaving, her mother gifted her one of these old-fashioned cameras, the ones where she also had to be there in person to take the picture. She's looking forward to try it out outside soon.

She also loves music. She loves listening to it, as well as making playlists for specific occasions or people. She also makes her own music, but generally doesn't show it to anyone.

Keagan's also a huge bookworm. She reads anything she can get her hands on and is often seen either reading or having a book nearby. Back on Earth, it was kind of an escape for her, while here it reminds her of her life on Earth.

She also loves to cook, often trying new recipes or coming up with new ones. At school she often got compliments from her friends and always had to give some of her food to them, whenever she had made some.

Would you say the other characters might have heard of Valkyrie, considering her unique circumstances and role in the mission?
i mean, i guess that would depend on the other person's relative background. She isn't exactly an on-the-books type of person. Like, how many child soldiers from South Africa can you tell me about by name and background irl? It's something equivalent to that, in terms of recognition. But I guess a character could future-google the Clan Seekers of the 21XX Sino-Russian Wars and at least know what she was all about. But her, specifically? probably not.

Unless you mean like if they would know of her presence among their number? Yeah, i guess rumors could have circulated. and i would imagine that there would be at least basic information available to all crew members about the general populace of all 500 members of the mission. But that would be like... Name, age, occupation.... and not have personal deets available for just anyone to peruse over
