Fantasy Pre-interest check for a sort of mecha/sci-fi type roleplay?

Ok soooo this is like a pre-interest check. What I mean by that is this is here to see if anybody would even slightly be interested in the main idea.

So essentially, a alien life form is attacking Earth and Earth's inhabitants have to retreat to Emergency Evacuation Safe Spaces (EESS) for refuge. There is a special weapon that has to be used in order to destroy these alien life forms. There is also a special academy in one of the EESS that was made specifically to train soldiers on how to use these special weapons.
