Fantasy Power of the Indebted

(I just realized how much of a car/train wreck this opening is. xD )

"Oh, shiny~" Fiona trilled as she saw the badge, before looking up at the man holding it. "Hi officer!" She waved her hands eagerly, despite the fact they were just a few meters, less that two, apart from each other. "These two sillies, thinking they can just kidnap a person while other people are watching, and tall man's actually awake now. Yay! Now we can talk." She took a deep breath before the onslaught began. "Sowhatsyournamehowdidyougetknockedoutwheredidyoucomefromwhereareyougoingareyouanindebtedcauseyoulooklikeonenotthatitsbadoranythingjustabitweirdifyouaskmebutweirdisgoodandeveryoneiskindaweirdinawaysoyourefine."

(Good luck reading that :smiled:)

Damien was confused as well, why did the couple try to steal him? Who was the man from Aequailis? He wanted answers but now wasn't really the time. He simply stood there holding his arms out.
As the woman started speed-talking, he flicks his hands back, two guns spring out from his sleeves and he holds them in his hands, "Calm down. I don't want trouble, I'm on the run in fact." He observes everyone.

"Tall, tall meaning more body mass, more body mass being harder to move, harder to move being slower, slower being 'weak'. I win." She said almost mockingly, in a sing-song manner fit for any child, but one could not mistake the anticipation in her eyes. He was now classified as 'weak', it would be much too easy to deal with him now. Looking into his eyes, she could see, and she knew what she saw. The match was over.

Damien shook his head, What is your problem?! He scorns himself internally. He then proceeds to push his guns back into his sleeves, "S-Sorry, I don't know what got into me..." He stares at the ground.

"That's okay, just promise not to do it again, you hear?" She grinned happily, stemming the flow of her power before she had a chance to use it. A light breeze did blow by, something she hoped would take away whatever bad atmosphere was still between them. He was interesting, they all were, no one interesting would die on her watch, especially not if they were all classified as 'weak'.

That makes one then, a few more
She thought to herself while Ardamortus simply sighed, again. She giggled at him mentally, almost feeling him shake his massive head. "So back to the beginning, I'm Fiona, what's your name?" She asked with her pinky still outstretched waiting for the confirmation of the promise and as a substitute for a handshaker

Damien hesitates then nods, "Sure, I promise." He confirms the promise with the intertwine of pinkies and then steps back, "I-I'm Damien." He rubs the back of his head and notices that he's bleeding, "Crap, I need to go." He turns and starts walking down the street.

(I don't even know what to do anymore. I just woke up and I see a bunch of confusing posts. Urgh)

"Not so fast there kiddo" Gripping the back of Damien's shirt as he attempted to make his leave. "YOU, Are coming with me." Attempting to restrain him, he pulled a pair of handcuffs from his coat pocket, if he was 'on the run' from someone this was definitely business he should be getting himself involved in. The way he saw it the more people he hauled in the closer he got to his next promotion.

Damien's eyes widened, "W-Wait! No! This is a misunderstanding! I'm on the run from The Pure! I'm not a criminal! Please!" He begs, The Banshee is so disappointed, "Why do you do this?" She mutters under her breath, she sticks around the kid, "W-Wait! They'll catch me! They know I'm here!" He struggles to get free but to no avail.

"Um, officer, please let go of my new friend Damien." She said with a more subdued tone as she mentally went through her 'Arming Process', which was how she used her power. She could categorize something as weak when compared to herself, that meant that she could manipulate things supposedly inferior to herself, or if it was generally accepted as being weak. The quality, both hers and the object she was trying to manipulate, was to be compared to her own, or if it was considered weak publicly, like an axiom, she could manipulate it on the fly.

Cuffs made of metal, cuffs so able to encircle hands or wrists, average circumference of wrist is basic size, basic size inferior, weak. Manipulation of inferior aspect confirmed. She thought mechanically as she willed the change to happen. She was only able to aggravate the weakness, or raise it to a value equal to herself. In the last case, slowness, she could make it so the boy was slower than her, or speed him up to her level. In this case, size, she could make the thickness of the actual cuffs thin enough to be mistaken for tin foil, and in doing so give them the durability to match.

But she would wait.

"What better protection is there from those radicals than Aequalis huh? Just co-operate you'll be fine." Sighing after he spoke, he really was sick of people like this, just how long would it take before people got it through their thick skulls that they were there to help, It would sure as hell make his job easier once they figured it out.

The girl chiming in, apparently already having decided that she and this kid were best buddies or something. His shoulders slumped, he damm well couldn't deal with this right now, and they damm well seemed to think they could. Damien had basically admitted to being an Indebted in public so he guessed they could take care of themselves, "You know what. Fine. If you folks don't want any help suit yourselves, just don't come crying to me when the Pures come chasing you down again." Unsnapping the cuffs he set off back in the direction of his apartment, intending to get a change for his, now ruined, shirt.

The two stood there in stand by, simply watching silently. Hearing that he was running from The Pure, Seina tugged on her brothers sleeve. He nodded, showing that he understood what that meant. This boy, Damien, was indeed an Indebted.

Damien rubs his wrist, "Do you think I should've gone with him?" He asks his new friend. The Banshee floats up, still cloaked, and smacks him on the back of the head, "You ignorant twit. You could've been killed!" Damien turns in the direction of The Banshee, "You, shut up, remember that we have a contract. I can make your after life miserable if I wanted to." He smirks at The Banshee and then turns back around, "Sorry, the outsider I have a deal with is rude." Around this time the two men from earlier come strolling out of the back alley, they were rubbing their heads which is around the moment they see Damien. Damien looks back and sees the two men, "Crap." He mutters to himself as he darts off, he didn't realize he grabbed the girl's hand before taking off.

"Bye bye, officer! Next time please be a bit more gentle!" She called after him as he walked away. It was stranger to her, funny even how he genuinely expected them to trust him when he just cuffs them instead of, well, talking maybe, or even just introducing himself first. So she laughed, especially at how frustrated he was when met with her reaction. Really, even she knew that if you wanted to make friends you be friendly, not some rough figure who's 'helping' consists of arresting people like criminals before they're proven guilty. "He's so silly." She said to herself before she felt the tugging on her arm.

She could calculate quickly, identify limits and aspects on the fly, so reacting to the tug before it got painful was easy. "Bye bye, kidnappers." She said with a wink before running with the boy, content to move in silence for once. Still, the two men were doing nothing to gain more ground, so they were slow, and again 'weak'. She didn't understand why they ran when they could take them. It would be more fun too. "Why are we running?"

Damien darts into another back alley and sits, "They are part of The Pure. They came to my house right as I was leaving so I knocked them out in an alley and that's when I ran into you guys." He sighs, "Sorry for grabbing you, I'm a bit tired, I used my power and I haven't been able to pay my price." He shakes his head.

Seeing the Pure men, Seina's first instinct was to run with her brother, since he was an Indebted. However, Lairen had no intention of running away. If anything, he would fight those two. Getting rid of the Pure would make it easier for him. He pulled his sister along as he walked in the direction he saw Damien run off into. That boy had been his first time meeting another Indebted. Of course, that was because Lairen and Seina had been keeping away from them.

"I understand, they forgot all about me after a beat them in a memory game." She laughed at that particular confrontation. The challenge was to keep in mind objects in a sequence, she was alone fighting four men. They simply had to memorize one object and recite them in sequence. Their downfall was the fact that the sequence was to be recited, third element first, then the last, then second, then first. Proving their memory weak, she didn't just pay her price, she erased every memory they had of her.

"So what is your price, is it like a kiss or something?" She said in an almost joking manner, taking a step to re-identify him as slow. She would not lose her first kiss, nope, not fun. They just met, and if he did try anything, he would find himself slower than a snail.

Damien blushes, "Y-Yeah, it actually is." He could never kiss a stranger, they barely knew each other. He pops out his guns again and checks to see if they're loaded, they weren't, he reloads them.

"Well this got just a whole lot awkward. Well, better get ready for a fight, cause here they come." She said as footsteps of rushing men echoed into her ears. She was ready, already identifying them as slow as soon as she looked back and saw them chasing her in vain. They would make perfect targets for him if ever that was the case. "On a side note, why didn't you shoot them immediately in the first place?"

Damien looks at her with a confused face, "Probably because my guns weren't loaded, did you not see me reload them a couple of seconds ago?" He sighs, "Whatever." He aims at the men and shoots them.

Lairen followed closely behind the two men from The Pure, hoping it would lead them to the other two. Seina hurried to keep up with her brothers large steps. "Ren, wait!" she calls just as they heard gun shots. This leads to Lairen picking up his pace, running to where the noise came from to see the two from before.
