On July 2019 the world changed. Thousands of spirits were let loose into our world. People were in a panic at first, though soon they realized something, the spirits could not interact with the world, not on their own at least.
The spirits could do but two things, communicate, and grant one their power. Soon people with extraordinary abilities cropped up, fueled by the spirits power, though it was not free, their power came at a price, earning the name of Outsiders among the general populace.
The price was different for every individual, based on the desires of their host spirit, something that would fuel its goals, or something satisfy it's desires. The price was never a one time thing, to continue possession of their abilities they would have to keep paying it, over and over again, those who have chosen this life being given the name Indebted.

An elitist group of regular humans dead set on 'cleansing' anyone who calls themselves Indebted. Lead by a charismatic man going by the name of Richard Steelgate they have set up a strong foothold in global politics, playing off the insecurities of the populace, working towards their goal of restoring the world to the way it once was.

A network of Indebted and regular humans working towards some unknown goal. The leader of this group is unknown being rumored to be a collective of Spirts, it priding itself on telling its members and those it hires as little as possible about itself. The Stakeholders have no public face, being more of a rumor to the general populace than anything else.

Aequalis is perhaps the most influential of these groups, sanctioned by the United Nations its goal is to keep the balance between the Indebted and Mankind in equilibrium, well armed and well organized they are a force to be reckoned with.

The Indebted and Outsider have to agree on forming an contract and the contracts price, a person can not be forced into a contract. Though if the Indebted changes their mind and wants to end the contract the Outsider must agree. An Outsider may end a contract at any time.
The price of an Indebted's power varies greatly from person to person. It is entirely up to the Outsider that granted it to them. Some examples are:
- Sleeping for a time depending on how long you used your power.
- Eat 200 calories worth of food.
- Read a book 10 pages longer than the previous book you read.
- Be polite at all times.
- Cut yourself deeply enough to bleed and leave the wound open for 15 seconds.
- Kiss someone.
- Kill someone.
You can have a maximum of 2 characters. If one dies you may make another.
Skylight City:
- Follow all RPN rules.
- Violence and Profanity is allowed, but do not go into excess, too much swearing or taking too long describing how horribly you mutilated your enemy breaks atmosphere.
- No ridiculous powers, Outsiders are not gods they can only grant so much power (Something like manipulation of gravity being considered EXTREMELY powerful). PM me if you are unsure about your abilities.
- No arguing in OOC
- Enjoy yourself
