Post Apocalyptic (Closed)

They were all silent, Don joined Mask's side as his backup. He nodded towards Sarah, letting her know that he would help handle this. This was Mask's initiation, this was how he would prove himself.

Sarah took a few steps back as she heard the Russian beginning to whimper. It broke her heart, it reminded Sarah of the past too... Her past. Without looking at him, or saying anything, Sarah placed a hand on the Russian's arm gingerly as she tried to let him know he'd be in ok.

Her fingers were cold and shaking, yet her wrist seemed to hold quite a bit of strength.

(Oh! Also you're fine dear I know how it is... I'm glad to hear everything is good and sorted out! Glad to have you back!))

The Russian was surprised by Sarah's gesture, he pushed himself up (as best as he could) and screamed extremely loud in fear. It was very noticeable, even if he was still in a gag.

Mask shifted his gaze to the little man, his eyes angry. "Damn it, shut yer mouth boy, yer goin' to get us all killed!" Mask said under his breath. Mask then heard something, he pulled his arrow back into the bow, making him ready to shoot. He scanned the area some more, taking deep breaths and slowing himself down... giving all his focus into the bow and trying to find wherever that monster was moving around in the night.

(( Aye, thanks for understanding. It's good to be back. ))

Sarah was quick to grab the boy and get him to the ground.

"Mask, third floor... Second window... Don't breathe." The monster was now hanging loosely from the shattered window as it searched for the sound... It waited for another, inching closer to having their location.

Don hesitated with his gun, any noise from it would mean doom, but Mask was already prepared to shoot... Don nudged him with the toe of his boot, so gently he wasn't sure if Mask received the message.

Mask's head locked onto the monster, he breathed deep, quite breaths. He raised the bow up to his eyesight, moving it to aim at the direction of the beast. Mask himself could only hear his breath and heartbeat. He closed one of his eyes to line up the shot more thorough. His arms were starting to shake from holding the bow too long, so that is when he released the string. The arrow was on its course to his the monster's head.

Everyone held their breath, it was only when the beast dropped to the ground Mask could hear the long sigh of his new travel mates. Don was he first to pat him on the shoulder, then a few others. Sarah retained from the group as she was keeping an eye on the Russian. "Alright, good shot Mask... everyone lets keep moving, keep an eye out for anything else." She nodded to him with respect and in thanks.

Mask never let down his aim from the beast, his aim still pointing at its limp body. In a way, he seemed a little scared, but he was also paying attention to see if the monster actually died.

The Russian was holding himself on the floor, still extremely scared.

Don re-assured him a head shot was all that was needed for the creature, and he tried to comfort his new friends. The group walks a block ahead of them to scan the area, Sarah tugged on the Russians shirt, signaling he should start moving.

Mask snapped out of his focused state, shaking his head. He holstered his bow and started breathing normal again, at last. He followed in behind the group with a serious, stone expression fixated on his face.

The Russian didn't seem to want to budge still. So, Mask made his way over to the man and grabbed him by his shirt's collar, bringing him up to his feet. The man looked like he was about to scream again, but Mask covered his mouth quickly, obviously not amused with him nearly getting everyone killed with his screaming.

"Hey, Mask... Go easy on him, he's scared... We all know what it's like to be scared." She felt bad, it was her fault after all.

Dom spoke "s-s-Sarah... Br-bridge ahead..."

Mask simply glares at Sarah as she speaks, before looking back at the boy. He opened his mouth to say something, but it is cut of by Dom's speaking. Mask grabbed the boy's arm and guided him forward to see the bridge that the man was talking about.

The Russian dragged his feet, following Mask's lead. He had his head pointed to the floor, and looked very sad with himself... but he continued onward.

Sarah flinched, but continued forward as well... For the first time she really wanted to hear what that boy had to say, she was so curious...

It was another few hours before they could see their destination in the distance. It made Sarah few much more relieved, that and how Don was standing by her side through all this.
