Post Apocalyptic (Closed)

Mask wields a half smile, raising a hand in protest of Sarah going on watch. "Now, now... I can handle night watchin' for a good long while. It would be only fair since yer crew and you are keepin' me company, and yah fixed up my shoulder." Masks says in a reasoning tone. Mask sits upright, placing his hands onto his knees to shoot himself up off his feet. He stretches out once again. "B'sides, I already took it upon myself to take a rest a few hours before y'all stumbled to this here gas station... I could probably get through three quarters of the night with all the rest I took." he says, moving his possessions back into his backpack.

Sarah looked up and rubbed her neck slightly, everyone was pushing her to agree. She finally let out a sigh and nodded in surrender. "Alright, alright yeah... thanks." She smiled softly, finally allowing herself to yawn. "But make sure to wake me if ANYTHING suspicious happens or if there is any danger..." She dragged herself over to the sleeping bags next to a darker haired man who was already partially asleep. One of the girls leaned over to Mask.

-"If anything happens wake Donivan up first, he can handle things in her place for a night."- she smiled and laid herself down as well. They all began mumbling their goodnights and thank yous again before drifting off to sleep.

Mask, with his backpack swung over his shoulder, made his way to the exit. He glared at everyone with a smile as he left (with the exception of the Russian man, which he greeted with a stern look). Masked closed the door behind him, laying the backpack down to his feet, leaning against the wall. He shook his head and waited for his eyes to adjust to the pitch dark night. After a few minute of adjusting, he starting scaning the area around him like a robot, his arms crossed.

The man that Sarah had been speaking with earlier joined Mask outside after and hour or so. Grunting his greeting stubbornly. He leaned against the wall next to Mask and kept his eyes to the horizon before speaking. -"Don't think too much about her friendliness, she may trust easily but I don't. So don't think getting buddy buddy with her will do you good alright?"- his tone was out of no where, wether out of distrust or jealousy it would be evident that he did not prefer Mask's presence here. -"You should leave before they wake up, take your Russian man and get going... Before she wakes up and gets too attached to you..."-

Mask glared at the man slightly, raising an eyebrow. He didn't look at him too long, as he kept his full focus on scanning the are. He waited patiently for the man to stop ranting, crossing his arm. Mask's voice was very quiet and calm as he replied: "Ain't no shame in a lil' friendliness in the shit show we're in these days. Hell, ain't no shame in friendliness when this world was normal either. Y'all seem to enjoy my company, with the exception of my ill-tempered Ruskie I got tied up in there. Honestly I don't see no problem on what is goin' on right now, sir." Mask coughed in his hand once he finished his sentence, still scanning.

-"Tch... Whatever you think is up to you, but I won't be fooled... You're all the same... Sarah is was the first perfect thing, don't try to ruin that."- the mans dark eyes were burning in the moonlight at the other man, he spit in the dirt before walking out a ways into the night to look around. He was unarmed, and took out a lighter... Proceeding to light a cigarette he had been hiding. The glow from the fire aggravated something in the distance, and there was a noise. -"hehehe... Just you wait Sarah, I'll show you I'm the only one you need."-

Mask stood up from his lean on the wall, he gave the man a disgusted look. "What in God's name are you doin' with that light, boy? Are you tryn' to get erryon' killed or something?" Masks voice was very frustrated, some spit came out of his mouth... but he spoke in a hushed tone as he did so.

The man simply gave him a crazed smile. -"ever since this trip began... This is all I have wanted... To show her how-"- he was cut off by the sound of Donivan loading a shotgun. He grunted and nodded to Mask, signaling him to go retrieve the man. The man raised his hands and started to shake.

Mask quickly dashed forward, swiping the cigerat before throwing it on the ground and stomping on it with his foot. He grabbed the man's arm and began to tug him toward the building, still looking very angry. "Get the hell in here, you moron!" he exclaim, still in a frustrated and very hushed tone.

The man tried to fight back, but was too scared of Donivan to try anything. As Mask passed by Don handed him som rope that had been hanging from his belt. He waited outside and scanned for anything that was awakened by the endeavor....

Mask lead the man into the building, trying his best to make as little noise as humanly possible. Once he was inside, he let him go and gave him a very angry look before walking toward the door to check outside for anything, like what Don was doing.

Don had continued scanning the area with very stern eyes, his face was a mask of calm but the twitching of the corner of his mouth gave hint that he was furious. "F-f-forgive us... f-for h-his behavior, he-he is a m-m-moron..." Don coughed and took only a moment to look over to Mask to give him a sincere apology. "S-Some of us... c-c-can't handle b-be-being out here s-so long."

"Ain't nothin' you need to apologize to me about, y'all ain't to blame." Mask replied, in a hushed and serious tone. He looked around the building a few times in search for something. "What's the matter with yah? You sound like yah saw a ghost or somethin'." Mask said as he scanned around once more, before shifting his gaze to Don in curiosity.

"M-M-Movement..." He answered as he nodded toward the buildings a small ways down the street. "B-Be pre-prepared to warn... o-others."

"Well, if yah saw somethin', it may be best we both get inside and warn erryon', better safe then sorry." Mask replied, timidly. He turned to the door and opened it slightly, waving his hand at Don to follow in behind him.

He hesitated and nodded... Holding up his shot gun as he followed Mask inside, he began to wake a few people up near the door and explain to them the situation. The girl from before with the caffeine pills pulled out a syringe full of a weird liquid from her bag and went to work on the man who caused all this, soon after giving him the liquid he started getting drowsy and was lifted onto the transported with the sick. Sarah was the only one left sleeping as everyone wanted to let her sleep for as long as possible.

Mask was trading glances around the room as they were informed on the situation. After awhile, his focus was locked onto Sarah for a brief moment. "Sarah said she wanted to be woken' up if anythin' bad was to happen, right?" Mask said, timid as he took a single step into the direction of where Sarah was at.

The woman who had sedated Robin, the foolish man who caused this, walked up to Mask's side and spoke in a quiet low voice. "I suppose, but she hasn't ever been someone to wake up... well, happy. Especially in times like these, we try to let her sleep as much as possible if we can, though if you want to deal with her and explain by all means go ahead... We only have a bit more to move, and you? You should move out too, this place will be invested with imps and goblins soon."

Sarah's face tensed a bit in her sleep and she grumbled, shifting slightly onto her back where she spread out a bit more to get comfortable as everyone tried to stay quiet.

"She's yer leader, ain't she? When somethin' bad is 'bout tah happen', you need yer leader awake at the very least." Mask said, as he walked over to Sarah's position without hesitation. He squatted down next to her, already feeling bad about having to wake her up. After a moment he placed his hand on Sarah's shoulder and shook it gently. "Aye, we need yer leadership badly right 'bout now." Mask said in a hushed tone as he shook Sarah's shoulder.

Sarah grumbled, eventually awakening into a dazed state. She looked around slightly and her soft expression quickly turned to stone as she sat up and looked at Mask, he eyes questioned Don instantly and he nodded toward Rob. She grit her teeth and began to stand, a bit wobbly at first, but solid. Everyone in the room stopped for a moment and awaited her words... "Well, what the fuck are you waiting for? Get your asses in gear, move it!" She seemed to already know what was going on, and that was that danger was very close. She gathered her sleeping bag and threw it onto Robin without guilt. She then kicked aside a few things as she made her way towards her bag and weapons, making sure her hand gun was loaded and her blades at easy access. Then, turning toward everyone she gave a sarcastic smile. "What a refreshing nap~" She then nodded to Mask in thanks and respect as she walked toward the door.

Mask took it upon himself to gather all of his possessions in the midst of the madness as well. He even went into the back room briefly to fetch his things. He seemed to be pretty good at packing up camp quickly, as he has done it by himself so many times before. "Hey, Sarah." Mask exclaimed as Sarah was walking to the door. He rubbed the back of his neck and walked over to the Russian, his backpack slung over his shoulder and holster with his revolver firmly wrapped around his waist. "Yah mind iffen I tag a long with yah and yer crew? I bet if I get myself to one of them districts I can find someone to bring this hot-headed ruskie to his papa. Yah don't need to let me tag along if yah don't want me to, I'm just sayin' that I'd be most gratefull iffen yah did so."

Sarah paused and turned toward him, her eyes gazing down at the Russian boy before answering. "Heh, yah... just try not to be a burden." She smiled and winked at Mask, and her group was begging to get excited by the new accompaniment. They could use the extra hand, and Mask seemed to be a good accomplice. Sarah's smile continued as she opened the door, letting her team file out and gather up the trade bundles. She covered them by keeping track of the movement from the building down the street, Don was at her side with the shot gun and a grumpy expression.

Mask followed in behind the group, he grasped the Russian's hand bindings and tired to pull him a long; however, the Russian was not being cooperative at all. Mask fixed this by pulling the Russian so much he almost fell... after that the Russian was walking with Mask. Mask held a static, yet slightly pleased face. Being aloud to tag along seemed to have lifted is spirits.

Sarah led everyone slowly around the building, so slowly it felt as if they weren't even moving. She held up her hand in signal for everyone to stop, and listen... The movement from inside stopped, and something didn't feel right.

Donivan crept forward and held up his gun, aiming at something no one could make out. Until Sarah realized what it was, it was a mutilator.

A large creature with a horse body but a head that opened up like a flower made of flesh and teeth, the tail was made from barbed vines and where hooves should have been we're only soar and bloody nubs. Even so they were known to run fast. The only part of it that could be seen was the rear before it disappeares into and alleyway, waiting for a chance to attack.

Mask carefully followed the group, and took Sarah's words as if he now looks at her as his leader. The Russian's hands were still tied firmly, and Mask was pulling them along with him, jerking the Russian forward when he stopped moving (which he did do a few times).

The creature made Mask grow a serious expression. He let go of the Russians hand and pulled out his bow from his backpack (which he layed to the floor almost instantly without causing much sound). He took out an arrow and readied for a shot, looking around the pitch black area thoughtfully. "Watch yer backs, y'all. This here might get ugly." he said in a whisper.

The Russian was shaking in fear, kneeling down a tad... he was making a bit of noise from whining, but it was muffled by his gag. That didn't stop a noticeable amount of sound, though.

(Gaah, sorry for the late reply. I got caught up in some family stuff and was unable to get on here. It's resolved now and I should be on my regular schedule.)
