Fandom Pokemon: Worlds Unfurled

And I think the big cheese mentined something about Arcaeus not really being a god. Though Religion in the pokemon world is an interesting inquiry.(Boss! What's is the religious views of the pokemon world?)

Also, keep in mind that the legendary pokemon are just powerful and rare species. There would be more than one Zapdos.

And I think everyone has to start out with a single starter.

So am i restricted to only the starter pokemon or just one pokemon in general?

Ill fix the other stuff though

Just the starter Pokemon, which must be an official starter Pokemon from the games.

Hmmm... I'm sure if there is really any legendary lore. Anything special anyway. I know that we aren't using canon. I sort of just winged it ( xD get it? winged it? Cause ho-oh is a bird? Ha ha?) Big cheese has plans for a few of the legendaries, such as mewtwo and the legendary dogs, but he hasn't revealed anything yet.

As for characters, newbiness and realism is the theme. The boss might suggest you newb Perry up some considering Perrry had already went on a previous journey.

Btw, need a help looking for a pic?

Ya know. I can now actually catch that grimer for Ricky. Lol and a mawile xD But I still want that far'fetched...>.> I got me a full set already planned, but I think I will venture into the controversy of having him catch more than six :D

Far'fetched, I will stick with my plan of catching him until much later. Mawile, undecided on catching but maybe. I will see what happens. Though would also be a later catch.

As for grimer, I would like it to be the next pokemon that Ricky catches. Buuuuut.... still undecided -.- Depends... dang me and my undecidedness.

@Kyero Question for you, Mr. Cheese. Can you go over again the when and how evolution will be handled in this RP?

I'll add that back in once I have a better understanding of the lore in the story
The lore of this RP is entirely unrelated to the original Pokemon franchise.

All of the Legendaries, with very few exceptions, are part of a breeding population though it is very small worldwide. All of the Legendary Pokemon are true legendaries, meaning that they cannot be measured in strength against normal Pokemon. To give an example of how powerful they are, almost any of them could kill a human with a single attack, and even other Pokemon. They are so powerful in fact that even the prototypes and final product of the Master Ball does not work on them.

Each Legendary in this RP is different than its tv show/manga counterpart in various ways, so when you create a backstory for your Legendary you're free to do so how you wish so long as it matches the Legendary's personality. And one last thing about Legends, just as I cannot stand introverted characters, Legendary Pokemon may be shy and elusive beings, but not introverted or otherwise angry and vengeful creatures. It's not their nature to be like that, so that's pretty much the only thing I don't want to see regarding their stories.

All of the Gym Leaders are brand new and they are in the "Neutral Characters" thread for you to look at when you have time.

Pretty much everything you need to know about the RP can be found in the Mechanics and Neutral Characters threads.

When it comes to your character, there are a few rules to follow:

1) Must be at least 16 years of age.

2) Must be new to the world of Pokemon and you as a real human have to leave your knowledge of Pokemon at the door. No sudden epiohonies about Pokemon along the way that imparts your real world knowledge or anything like that. They have to learn the hard way.

3) Be prepared to lose. It's a natural side of competition that you will lose Pokemon battles against the Gym Leaders, other NPC trainers, and sometimes even other player controlled characters if you cross paths with them. Everyone up to this point, save for Sakura since she hasn't challenged a Gym yet, has lost. Not one person managed to beat the Pewter City Gym Leaders to claim a badge yet.

Evolution comes in a few forms:

1) By bond.

Some Pokemon will create such a strong bond with you that they may evolve a bit early, or in some instances where you are in extreme danger they will force themselves to evolve to protect you. The consequence to this second event is that it is incredibly taxing and dangerous on their bodies and once they have protected you they will need almost immediate care from a Pokemon Center or they risk death.

2) Time.

All Pokemon, which have evolutions of course, evolve over time. For younger Pokemon, it's about age 5-7 or so for their first evolution and another 4+ years after to reach their final stage (if they have a third).

3) Stones.

Some Pokemon can only evolve via the use of an evolutionary stone, but they are VERY expensive going upwards of $50,000+ Poke Dollars.

Lol 1 sounds like a convenient plot device xD anyhow, does the danger of this also apply to pokemon that naturally evolve via bond? Such as buneary?

Regarding 2, I think you mentioned something that evolutions should be starting around the 3rd or 4th gym,(or badge)?

And about 3, would there be other ways to acquire stones? Such as the kind of convenient plot device mentioned in number 1 xD .

I just realized that my team mainly consist of those who only have two evolutions lol. No decade of waiting for me :D

Pokemon which evolve through a bond will never force themselves to evolve. Once they love you enough, they will evolve. Simple as that, but no matter the danger if they don't love you enough they won't force themselves to evolve for you.

Yes, by the time you get your 3rd or 4th badge is around the time you could expect your Pokemon's first evolution.

Currently I have no information for you regarding evolution stone acquisition other than through purchasing them.

Lol what if they lose the next 3 or 4 gyms? They would still have the experience and they pokemon would be stronger and older, they just wouldnt have the badges.

Haha, King! I bet Bonnie will only evolve when Ricky's old and grey. xD
xD looks like it, dont it? And here i thought Ricky was a pretty loveable guy lol.

Heh. Yes, they would still be at the evolutionary stage of their lives regardless of whether you have badges or not.

Good... cause Ricky has a pretty impressive loosing streak O_O

Lol and two out if his four will be super weak to Kelly, and ricky doesnt have a full understanding of types xD certainly not enough to take advantage of Crowley's bug typing. Not beyond "bugs eat plants, dont they?" anyway lol.

Well you can agree upon a preset ending, or see how it plays out. Or lose when boss tells you to lose xD

All battles between players are played out in conversation and posted as one big post. Npc battles that your character gets into with random trainers are your respinsibility and should be played out or summed up in a single post.

Zenn said:
how are the outcome of battles decided?
King basically answered, but I'll confirm everything for you all the same.

When you create a battle for your character against a random NPC (usually also of your own creation), you determine the outcome so long as the battle is reasonable and presents a challenge.

When you enter battle against a player controlled character, you must create the battle turn by turn in a private conversation, and then you both can decide who posts the final product to the RP.

If you enter a battle against a named NPC in the RP such as a Gym Leader, all of whom will be portrayed by yours truly, you will play it out post by post in the RP's IC with me as I did for the others when they battled the Te Brothers.

And it is tradition to lose your first gym battle T_T i got crushed by folds of back fat....

Do the named NPC's of player creation, such as Janice or Rory follow the same battle standards? Or are their additional restrictions.

Named NPC's created by other players are theirs to control, so you'll have to engage such NPC's as if it is a personal battle with the player via a private conversation approach.

Sorry it took a little bit. My real life always takes precedence over my fantasy one. Now we can all continue onwards!

I HAD AN IDEA BEFORE WORK BUT I FORGOT IT AND GODDAMIT IT WAS A GOOD ONE AND ItèS 12:30 AT NIGHT I SHOULD SLEEP NOW GOOD NIGHT

Silly Terra.

Anyway, now that Soph has posted we can get on with the show!

One thing though Soph, Blaze is the one in good shape. So much so that he is still pumped up and ready for a fight. Sakura doesn't have trouble taking care of her Pokemon so much as taking care of herself, so that part of Geoffrey's speech aimed at her inability to care for her Pokemon was actually entirely off base. But hey, it was still fun to read.

Also, I think what my post has to say right in the first few sentences will piss him off that much more once he realizes what happened during his speech. Lol!

And for everyone else, if you want your characters to find their way out it would behoove you to have them follow Sakura for whatever reason you can think of. The pathway that you met her in does not lead out of Mt. Moon, so if you continue down it you'll end up coming to a massive dead end chamber after about two full days of walking. The path Sakura has turned around and decided to take does lead out, and in less than a matter of two hours.

But if you'd rather stay in Mt. Moon, then by all means continue on without her! It'll be interesting to see if Geoffrey can even stand the idea of following her to find their way out after that little speech! Lol!

So i had to wait on a response that would end up becoming totally ignored? Very uncool, boss -_- very uncool.

Also I think he was talking about the terrible fatigue and extreme exhaustion of Blaze, which you had kept mentioning. And it should be argued IC anyway since it is an IC...well, arguement.

Lastly i think you made up the dead end part >.> how convenient for Sakura... Not that it matters, the group has no way they are knowing going the wrong way and i cant think of any reason to change course, unfortunately.

But, i was going to suggest a timeskip after this round to cerulean, if nothing else is gonna happen now that Sakura left.

Sorry I disappointed you King. I'm not perfect.

As for Sakura not listening to Geoffrey, I wrote at the end of my post that once she was finished speaking that she left the group in peace to find her own way. Did I leave any indication that she would stick around to listen to Geoffrey if he decided to speak to her again? I don't think so. If I were in Sakura's shoes, I wouldn't stick around to listen to the words of someone who hated me and misunderstood me and the intentions of my words. But if you would stick around then power to you. But Sakura didn't stick around so Geoffrey was talking to the air when he made his speech. She was already gone. If anything Geoffrey would look rather silly making a speech to thin air like that.

Regardless, I said you guys would find Sakura in that tunnel. I never said it would lead you out did I? One of the perks of being the GM is I decide the course and pace of the RP and what pathways lead to where in such instances as these caves.

But go ahead and wander to your heart's content. Sakura will find daylight on my next post later this evening and she'll wish you all well, including Geoffrey even though he hates her. How long you decide to remain in the cave is up to you, but I have no time skips planned right now.
