I can't honestly say that I'm too inclined to be sympathetic to your excuse Dakup. Notifications are a convenience on this website, but it is your responsibility as a role-player to visit the RP's you're in to visually confirm for yourself what is or is not happening within them. Doing so is as easy as typing the name of the RP into google and taking a look at the OOC.


That goes for everyone, by the way. As a role-player, it is your responsibility to check the RP's you're involved in to make sure they are still active and that you have opportunities to post. It is in no way the job of the notification system to tell you that a single RP is still running. They are there to tell you that something has happened on the site which might involve you and be worth your while to investigate. If you're not getting notifications for one RP you're in, visit the RP to see what's going on. If it's dead, then don't worry about it. If it's alive and moving, then you've got work to do.


So Dakup, if you didn't bookmark the RP or figure out some sort of shortcut option which you could use to visit the RP once in a while to see what's going on that's officially on you, not the site or the notification system.


But regardless this is what's happened in the RP in a nutshell since you've been gone:


* Since the Team Rocket attack, approximately two, maybe two and a half weeks have passed IC.


* Most of the others who were in or near Pewter City challenged the Gym and lost, but received advice and helpful hints on how to train and better prepare for future engagements with the Gym Leaders.


* Sakura has moved on and is inside Mt. Moon where she has encountered and captured a special Gible with flat blades instead of round horns on its head.


(I have added a new "Special Pokemon" mechanic to the RP in the "Neutral Characters" page which is where the Gible comes from as well as Cloudy's future "Mohawk Larvitar")


As of right now, whatever your character decided to do for two to two and a half weeks is up to you. I don't know exactly where your character is or what he would have done, as it's your character and not mine. If you don't remember where he was or what he was doing then it's your responsibility to figure it out by reading your previous posts to catch up on what your character has been up to.


It should be easy enough to get back in by creating a simple "catch up" paragraph or two. Two weeks isn't much time, but it's enough to create some kind of short story about what they have been doing since watching Team Rocket give their warning.

This RP is open ended so there's really never a time that's "too late" for joining. However, my policy with this RP is that everyone who begins the RP does so as a newcomer, so double check all the rules and such before committing to a character profile. If you do join, your character will be brand new to the world of Pokemon and you'll have to leave whatever knowledge you have of Pokemon as a franchise at the door, so to speak.


If this is all fair and acceptable to you, then by all means scour the RP's information to make sure you understand everything and if you have questions, ask away and everyone will be happy to pitch in and answer whatever questions you have.

She's not far at all. At most he's maybe a few hundred feet down one of the hallways trying to escape the creature who took the bite out of Gible's horn.

Alright. Well about to have Ricky make a big ruckus around there. Going to catch that onyx and make a scene. Figured it would be an easy way to catch up with Sakura. And also figured I would give you a heads up on theatrics. It will be a decent sized post, I don't know if I will be able to get to it tonight. Probably Thursday since I won't have my laptop on Wednesday.

So, to those in Ricky's group: If you managed to keep up with Ricky during his fight with the Onix, Sakura has taken refuge from the main cavern in one of the branching hallways in the back of the room. There are three of them, so make a careful guess as I'll be watching whoever decides to lead onward.


There's one to the left, center, and right of the back of the cavern, so choose wisely or Sakura will continue her solo adventure!

Nope. Ricky and crew were on one side of the cavern and Sakura left on the other.


Sound carries well in open spaces with flat reflective surfaces such as the open expanse of an auditorium or a mall, but in small areas with a lot of curves, uneven surfaces, and twisting arcs such as the pathways inside a cave, it does not carry very well at all. The diffusion of the uneven surface would kill the sound before it reached the second or third change of direction, and Sakura's farther along inside those paths than that.


In the depths of the hallways and little branching corridors of the cave, Sakura would not hear the battle very well, if at all.


Sorry King, but there is no joke on me this time buddy! Lol!


But anyway, if you want a hint and a better shot at finding her, pick either the left or center pathways in the back of the cavern.

That makes sense, it is a bigger cavern than I had thought it was. Science is on your side, lol but I was only teasing about that part. Though choosing wrong and you still miss out on the our lovely camaraderie.

The RP is open ended which means that there really is no beginning or true end. Whenever you join is whenever your character's private story begins, and you're free to tell it either solo or with a group (Most people choose the latter as it's often more fun but hey, solo is an option).

The Legendaries are entirely optional encounters, kind of like how Ash encounters them in the movies but never actually captures them. All the Legendaries which have been claimed for an encounter exist in our character profiles on the Character Sign-Up page.

I'll take a look at the character tomorrow. I got a headache that feels like someone slammed an axe into the back of my head and it's all I can do to concentrate on writing this.


At a glance it looks okay, but again I'll give it a more thorough examination tomorrow after school is over at around 2pm or so PST.

Okay then, I have had time to rid myself of the headache and take a better look at the character so here is my analysis:


1) "Can be annoying with how many questions she'll ask someone" is not actually a character weakness so much as a simple quirk of their behavior. Asking a lot of questions is more a strength than a weakness, as it shows a great desire for knowledge and the ability to take in a lot of informant with each answer presented. So you might want to pick something else for your last weakness.


2) I don't enjoy saying this as I can see you gave it your best shot, but I don't like Raikou's bio.


Keep in mind, I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just saying what I honestly think looking at this with an objective pair of eyes.


First of all, lightning is near instantaneous. Raikou is fast, but not fast enough to keep up with the electrostatic discharge that is actually lightning. Lightning moves too fast for any biological creature to even see properly, let alone race against on foot and win. It doesn't happen. Regardless of whatever the games might say or whatever the anime might have shown, this RP is grounded in a more realistic world and Rakiou is not fast enough to compete with the element that he represents. Even Legendaries have limits you know.


My next major issue is his personality and the reasons for his distrust of humans.


It is well understood by Pokemon around the world that humanity has its uglier side, however the good nature of humans is equally well known and by far the more common sight. Pokemon death in Trainer battles is so uncommon that Raikou is not likely to have ever seen it at all, unless it was involving Team Rocket. Even then, he'd be able to sense the evil within their hearts and compare that evil to the neutral or more often positive sensation of the average human heart. It is highly unlikely that Raikou would view the entire human race as untrustworthy because of the actions and evil hearts of such an isolated few as Team Rocket.


So Raikou is going to have to be tweaked a bit if you'd like to use him.


My only other issue is that your character's biography is too short. I need at least three paragraphs from you before I will consider it complete, and each of them have to have at least five sentences.


So if you are undeterred by this response then please make the edits whenever you have the time and I'll take another look when you're finished.

Alrighty! Got my CS and Item sheet updated with my new pokemon. And delving into the realm of non-canon moves. Right now giving them mainly to Monty and Bonnie as they have been with Ricky the longest so he would have had the chance to customize their movesets. Though I am considering making some of the moves an add-on to other moves. Such as Bouncing Single Barrel or Spinning Pound(example, since it is same as spin attack). Or the move such as Frustation, have it more like a state of being than an attack. I also included what the moves were 'upgraded' or variants of. For example, Tackle becoming Takedown.


And of note, the moves I am putting in their sets is not exactly the same as Pokemon games, as they are instead Ricky's interpretations of them.
