The two would meet up nearby an outpost for, ironically, the Onix Express, Vera Valle's to go to travel system. A man with a rather rough looking cowboy hat, five o'clock shadow, and a friendly smile would meet both of them.
"Why, would ya look at that? Ya'll must be the trainers Ms Maria was talking 'bout. She's paid for your fares and everything. We won't be able to take ya'll all the way, it's a bit of, well, er, sensitive time of the year for our ol' boys here."
He slapped a nearby goliath of a rock snake who roared happily, reaching down to literally pick up Damon by the back of the neck, and surprisingly gently put him on the back of its neck onto a saddle. It then offered tis tail for Lillinoe to climb up.
"Now, here's a trick. Onix aren't shy. Like, at all. They ain't in the mood if they ain't all the mood. Kinda a flash mob. Makes this time a year real dangerous in certain parts here 'round. Thankfully they always got an alpha. Well, two alpha's. If ya guess prom king and queen, ya'd be right. Just get them to move, and the rest'll follow. Now, uh, they're real active at the evenin', so maybe do this in the mornin'? Know ya'll didn't ask for my two cents, but well, there it is. Oh, and Steelix tend to be much more... selective, so ya ain't like to run into any. Now, happy travels!! Hiya!"
He slapped the onix, and with a roar, it was off, twisting and turning over the wilderness that was Vera Valle. The trip was bumpy as it ever was, but the seats seemed to be improving somewhat. If it weren't for the occasional violent jolt, one could almost sleep on it.
The heavy mist that surrounded Mt. Regi wasn't much later, a much quieter landscape greeting them, only occasionally broken up by battles of behemoths. Mt. Regi was for the strong, and natural rule, and so the only fights there were big ones. From the cliffs, various pokemon looked down at the traveling onix with the two trainers, but gave little more than a glance. A particularly fierce Tyrannitar even gave nod to them, its back blown up by a rare but mostly natural mega evolution in the wild.
Finally, they got to the earth-shaking, and in the distant miss, the outline of the observatory could be seen. Another seismic shake and part of a nearby cliff broke off.
A roar could be heard as the same Tyrannitar approached, walking straight past them, its shoulder spikes near toppling Onix as it made its way to the cliff... and began to pick up the broken edges of the cliff and slam them back into place.
Onix dropped the two off and began to slither back to its station in Nimbos Forest. The Onix were in the east where the mist was a little thinner, and the pokemon less fierce some. The tyranitar finished, folding its arms and inspecting its restructured cliff with a nod.
