Your character will be starting in the Orre Region as a completely new trainer. Your character is allowed to have some expertise in some pokemon related field though.
You should note not worry too much about learning the rules of the TCG, as you will get to learn organically while playing, and I simplified the game down to make it easy to roleplay with.

PERSONALITY
Margot is a dedicated, hard worker. Once she has her mind set on a goal, she will not stop until she finishes. She’s also very loyal, though she sometimes has a hard time choosing between friends and her mission. She tries to act cool and suave like her sister but isn’t very good at it. If something is keeping her from whatever goal she has set for herself, she gets frustrated easily. This includes in battles. If the tide suddenly turns away from her, she’ll get upset, which can lead to her making further mistakes. ​

APPEARANCE
Margot is tall for her age, and has a somewhat thin figure, though she doesn’t put that much effort into it. Her hair is medium length, blonde, and soft. She keeps it pulled out of her face leaving her round features and dark eyes visible. She wears a plain white blouse with short sleeves and a low drop. Somehow though, perhaps through a flat figure and lots of loose fabric to fill in space, the shirt doesn’t seem erotic or attention grabbing. She also has plain black pants and black suspenders. Her shoes are simple black boots with no heel. She shows a fair bit of her light skin, which is smooth and soft.​

Background History
Margot grew up with an older sister who has always been incredible. She has always lived in the shadow of her sister’s academic, social, and competitive achievements, and this has greatly shaped her desires. She learned how to battle at a young age and has practiced with her sister’s leftover decks. Though she never owned a deck of her own, she had the chance to fight many skilled trainers. In school, teachers would often, intentionally or otherwise, compare her to her sister. She worked hard to exceed their expectations, getting all A’s and being a part of many extracurriculars. It was never enough. Everyone would always say that she was just like her sister, that her sister had done that, too, that she was shaping up to be a great battler like her sister. Always being compared. Never outdoing her illustrious older sister. So she made a decision. She changed her style from mimicking the conservative and smooth outfits of her sister to more open and revealing clothes. She cut her hair and got rid of her bangs to distance herself from her sister’s stylish and enigmatic appearance. In fact, Margot was going to get a deck of her own, fight the gym challenge, beat the Elite Four and then the champion, and finally, outdo her sister with her own deck and her own achievements.​

Alyx is (like most people) naturally concerned about other people when it's apparent that they are in trouble. She sometimes finds it annoying that she worries so much about other people, but she can't stop ingrained instincts. This girl is also a chronic liar. As a bad habit, she lies constantly partly because it's fun. It's a bad habit she picked up after her mom passed away, and it's not about to go away anytime soon.

On a completely unrelated note, her stamina is amazing and she's light on her feet. Alyx may sound like a bit of scoundrel, but that's because she is. It's close to impossible to not pick up on the townspeoples' scoundrel ways.

Background History
Alyx grew up in Pyrite Town.

Her mom Cassandra met and fell in love with a ruffian with a surprisingly big heart. His name was Seth. They married, and, though there was much arguing, Cassandra agreed to settle in Pyrite Town. Cassandra was right to be worried about settling in the town. When she was only a child, there were shadowy dealings both above the surface and underground in The Under. But Alyx didn't know that until Cassandra died when she was 10 years old. Kids Grid had been formed for years already when she first heard of it, and she was never wanted to be involved in accordance to Cassandra's wishes.

Growing up in Pyrite Town had its quirks. What may have seemed like scary-looking ruffians to kids of other towns were the gruff but often kind neighbors next door. Cipher going around conspicuously was a time to observe the weirdos who did weird things. Both sides tolerated children, which was fortunate since she was one of the few kids in town that liked to play. The others were too serious for her liking.

She never knew about PokeCards or much about Pokemon in general, only staying purposefully oblivious in accordance to what she thought was Cassandra's wishes: Stay out of trouble. After Cassandra passed away, Alyx lied not only to herself but also to the people around her to keep an illusion of ignorance and innocence.

It was several years after Cassandra's death that she came into contact with PokeCards. Carefully hidden in a cardboard box underneath the floorboard under her bed was the life her mom left behind. Cassandra never told any other townsperson barring Seth that she was a trainer even though a large part of the town were trainers themselves. No one but Cassandra knew the reason she quit being a trainer all-together. Seth said as much to Alyx when she discovered the cards. He let her take a few cards to start with if she ever wanted to take up being a trainer and kept the rest under the floorboards.

At first, Alyx wasn't intrigued by the cards or the Pokemon. They were only trouble, after all. But she started to become more conscious of Pokemon because it was glaringly obviously a part of everyone's lives. As she jumped and scoured the town as if it were her playground, Alyx would always be aware of the cards weighing in her pockets. She couldn't ignore it any longer. She couldn't pretend to not know anything anymore. Not after carrying around a few of her mom's cards with her everywhere. They were mementos of her mom, the very few she had because mom left everything behind to start anew in Pyrite.

Her thoughts always came back to Pokemon because it was what people talked about. Her thoughts always came to Pokemon because she discovered that her mom, too, had been involved with Pokemon affairs. She wondered where people obtained cards. As she thought along those tracks, Alyx decided to leave town one day, leaving her dad behind. She promised she would come back, of course. Maybe she'd head towards her mom's hometown.

Robyn is a generous girl, always wanting to help out her friends and other people in need if she is able to do so. She allows her kindness to be expressed to others, but she tries not to blindly help those around her. When around people she is not familiar with, Robyn is shy and hesitant, not wanting to make a bad first impression. As she gets used someone, she slowly becomes more assertive around them. Despite her shy personality, Robyn can easily become competitive when she is with close friends and rivals, wanting to beat them. If she loses, she can seem short-tempered due to the adrenaline of the battle, but rarely does she go mad or hold a grudge against the victor. Ironically, if she ends up speaking to someone like that after a battle, it is a good sign she trusts them and sees them as a good friend of hers.​

HISTORY
Robyn was born in the Kalos region; however, she has little memories of her time there. After only a few short years living there, her family decided to move to the Orre Region. They chose to move into Agate Village, despite the lack of other youngsters for Robyn to socialize with, in order to live closer to her maternal grandfather. Because of this, Robyn didn't receive many chances to interact with a variety of different children.

Despite the circumstances, the girl managed to keep in company with people still. Many of the people who lived in Agate Village, as Robyn found out, were elderly Pokémon trainers who had previously retired. Her grandfather shared the background to the other aged folks who lived in the village as well, but he did not have any Pokémon. Having welcomed Robyn and her family with open arms, the elderly allowed Robyn to play with the Pokémon that continued to stay at their side over the years. Her interest and enjoyment of Pokémon only improved.

Years passed and Robyn spent the majority of her time with Pokémon companions, although none of them were her own. All of them belonged to the retired trainers who allowed her to play with them from time and time again. While she enjoyed her time with the Pokémon, she felt as if she only yearned for her own adventure with her own Pokémon instead of a Pokémon she knew had to return to its trainer before the sun was down from the sky.

She brought up her thought to her grandfather one day. He pondered the question in thought before deciding to tell his granddaughter the story of his past. Taking her to his room, the two sat down in chairs. He explained to her his past and answered my questions she had about him, including how he was considered a Pokémon trainer, but didn't have any Pokémon with him: her grandfather used PokéCards.

Hearing the information straight from the horse's mouth, Robyn found herself surprised. She never thought her grandfather used PokéCards instead of Pokémon. Her own imagination and theories told her a far darker tale, but she was glad that she had proven herself to be false all the same.

When Robyn asked if her grandfather still had PokéCards, he nodded his head and beckoned for her to follow him. Underneath his bed, he pulled out a dusty suitcase that he chose to clean the dust off of before opening it. Inside, there were collections of cards featuring Pokémon and items on them to Robyn's amazement. Until that point, she had never heard, nonetheless had seen, PokéCards in her life.

Although she found his PokéCards to be very interesting, Robyn wasn't completely sure if she wanted to become that type of trainer. She wanted a real Pokémon at her side in real peril; however, she couldn't voice any of this before her grandfather suddenly offered her a deck of PokéCards that appeared to be based around Fire Type Pokémons. Robyn couldn't bring herself to tell the truth to her grandfather, so she accepted the PokéCards and promised she would put them to good use.

Over the next few months, her grandfather showed Robyn how playing PokéCards worked. She even had card battles against her grandfather to test her strength against his deck that he lowered the strength of to give Robyn a fighting chance. She didn't win each time, but she still managed to have a few impressive victories over her grandpa.

Eventually, the time came for when Robyn decided she would go out to the world and see what it had to offer. She still couldn't admit to her grandfather that she was more interested in real Pokémon rather than PokéCards, but she convinced herself that it was too late to go back on her promise to him to do something with them. Saying her goodbyes to her family and friends, she left Agate Village with only her PokéCards at her side.

PERSONALITY
Sarcastic, mischievous and super cocky. Jimmy can not be taken seriously or lightly. He can act his age when the time comes, but even then it's hard to know if he actually is serious. Jimbo is childish and loves to crack puns/jokes.

Despite his crazy and somewhat annoying personality, he wants to make people smile and laugh. With his great self-confidence, he believes in his ability to do so.Jimmy is a dependent friend if someone can get past his teasing and vexing attitude. He looks out for his close friends like they're his family and treats them as such, like a brother you never wanted but in a good way.

Some more downsides of his personality are, he is quite the troublemaker. See people running and screaming angerly? Probably Jimmy's doing. The teen is also forgetful, often losing his cards and frantically running around like a Torchic with their head cut off to find them. Lastly, this guy is a flirt. Ladies, seriously watch out because this dude will make a sad attempt to compliment you.​

Background History
Jimmy was born in the Johto region and boy he was a handful. His parents had a hard time keeping up with their son's energy but loved him all the same. When Jimmy became of school age, he was the king of the timeout corner. He was always talking or disrubting class one way or another. The teachers recommended they find an activity to keep his energy at bay and maybe then he'll start to pay attention. Pokemon was out of the picture. A little spastic kid with a dangerously powerful creature was a no. So Jimmy's parents tried everything else, Apricorn gardening, Pokéathlon, photography, etc. Nothing seemed to grab Jimmy's attention.

However, when Jimmy was twelve, there was a new kid in his class. The kid was from the Orre region, and he introduced to Jimmy and the rest to PokeCards. It was just like training real Pokemon but well, with cards! The rest of the class was more interested in raising real Pokemon, but Jimmy was interested in the cards and decided to learn how to play. Jimmy and boy became great friends, and the boy even allowed Jimmy to have some of his old/duplicate cards. Yes, Jimmy was invested in the art, and thankfully, it caused him to calm down. His grades went up, and so did his participation in class. Jimmy's parents and teachers couldn't be happier!

At the age of seventeen, Jimmy decided to move to Orre and get some PokeCards of his own. His parents were saddened to see their son go but was happy to see he was pursuing something he loved. They set him off on his journey and warned him not to get into too much trouble. No promises there...
