"I see.... You seem like a good parent. But if you don't wanna talk much about it, I understand." Genesis said in an understanding tone. He did not want to pry, and left the topic alone.Max nodded. "I prefer to imagine that's what happened. She loved Felix too, so I do not believe she would have simply given up or run away. Even still, many years have passed since then, and I have moved on. I would like to see her again one day, but I have long accepted this will never happen."
Amber shook her head. "April, the one that is flying Nathan. I..." She looked down at the kids, of whom Orion was also looking at her curiously. I can't talk about the details, not with children here... not that I'd want to... "I was... selfish... and April got angry at me..."
"It's fine, if you don't wanna talk about it, then don't" Genesis replied, trying to ease her so she does not end up getting emotional.Max nodded. "Maybe not much, but after almost twenty years, she could be anywhere. In that amount of time, even a Sylveon could have crossed regions."
Amber smiled. "I'm sorry. Maybe, one day, you will hear the whole story. Most of the people here know the story, so it's only fair you should to, but I can't say it... especially with children around..."
"Not a problem. Feel free to ask me anything you want." Genesis said in an understanding manner, since it would be best to move onto a different topic, and quite possibly a better one. "Also, how did you meet Orion and Darin?"Max nodded. "Or boats." He shook his head. "It does not matter. It is still unlikely I will find here, and even if I did, it is unlikely we would stay together. Though I value our friendship deeply, we have simply forged new lives in our absence, and if we met it would likely only be to say goodbye formally, hurt me though it would. My heart has moved on, and I'm sure her's has too."
Amber smiled. "Thank you. That means a lot."
"I see. Well, I see you all are one happy family. It is a good thing in all this chaos really. You are good to them, so keep it up. They will be there when you need them, as you have them." he replied, he felt more comfortable around amber, nathan, orion, darin, and april. "What's they story on April?" he asked Amber.Max nodded. "I suppose so. I will keep it in mind."
Amber smiled. "Darin came first. Nathan got him as an egg when she was really getting settled down after ending her training career. She had me, as well as a few other Pokemon she'd accumulated as a trainer, but she kinda missed the feeling of getting new Pokemon. After having settled down for a few years, she indulged and purchased Darin's egg. When he hatched, Nathan, bless her heart, did her best to care for the little guy, but I ended up doing more. I could simply understand him better, and I suppose I had a knack for it. Eventually, it fell to me to care for him.
"Orion is relatively recent. Four years ago, there was a terrible storm that ravaged our city. At one point, as we looked out in the storm, we spotted a young Zigzagoon hurt on the street with no one caring for it, left out in the rain and lightning. Immediately, I was told to bring it in, and using my psychic abilities I brought him in from the street. We healed him, but he became very attached to us. Nathan found herself unable to give the little guy up: he was named Orion, and the rest is history."
"Interesting. I was once in her shoes when I met my trainer. I was 2 at the time, and on the run from the group who created me. She took me in, and the shinies on her team helped me get used to being around a trainer. I was the only legendary she ever caught, so I instantly became her favorite, the star of the team...." he stopped. He was getting slightly emotional as he talks.Amber smiled. "April was one of the few Pokemon that Nathan kept after ceasing her training. April was caught in Kanto on one of the earlier routes, when she managed to make her way over there. She was just a baby at the time, born not long before her capture. Of course, she was somewhat scared of her new environment, but the Pokemon of Nathan's team helped ease her into domesticated life. She became very attached to me, and she saw me as her mother." Amber's smile was distant, as if recalling a long lost time. "I was only six at the time, so this was a new experience for me... but it was very fulfilling, and I ended up embracing it."
Emperor Of Embers
"Shiny collector, yes. I was her only legendary, ever. She treated me as I was royalty because of it. Her team respected me, like I was their boss.... I dunno. It's wierd to me. But as soon as everyone found out about me.... Everyone wanted me....." he said in reply to Amber. After that, he thought about it for a bit.Amber cocked her head. "Shinies AND a legendary? Was this trainer some sort of collector?"
Max hummed. "Who can say? Perhaps everything will return to the way it was before. I may seek out Beth for closure... I may try to find love... I am not sure."
Latios Emperor Of Embers
"I don't understand...... What makes everyone go crazy for Shinies? Why am I wanted by everybody? I do not think there is a difference between shinies and normal pokemon...." he asked, since these were legitimate questions he had been asking himself, but he hoped to find an answer for them.Amber was quiet. "I see," she said as she pieced together what happened in her head.
Max nodded. "It will be a decision that must be made, and it could change the outcome of lives"
"Rare? So shinies are rare, and more valuable, despite having no other visible differences? That explains a lot, actually." Genesis rambled, he just thought it out, but was still confused.Amber smiled. "Because they're rare. That makes them more valuable."
Max nodded. "I do not believe you have to worry about humans hunting you, but if that is still a concern, it may be safer."
"With me being a shiny, people go nuts. I do not like that Kind of attebtion, so I spent 18 years running and hiding...... Because I am afraid the wrong kind of humans using me for evil, which I was created for..... I was made to do bad things for bad people..." He said, flashbacks hitting his mind, which made him silent for about 5 minutes.Amber nodded. "That is why people collect them."
Max shook his head. "I just do not believe people are out hunting Lati. I simply don't think it is something you need to be worried about."
