I have wondered this for a while, but would sitrus berries in the form of paste work like a potion and close wounds, or simply speed up the healing process certain injuries (like using a bandaid filled with protein to heal the wound in half the time.) i could be thinking about this in a weird way. Anyways, this is my last post for the night. Goodnight!

No medicine in the Pokemon world heals wounds instantly. They only do so in the games because of video game logic. Oran and Sitrus Berries both only speed up the natural process of healing, though Sitrus is more potent. And they really can't be turned into a paste without added stuff to make it paste like. Both berries are known to be juicy like Strawberries. Your better off squeezing the juice over the wound.

Now because if this I still don't have a reason for the benefit of buying potions instead of gathering berries because having a natural cure is better than potions, not to mention cheap for everyone's wallet.

I always thought potions heal wounds instantly, but are more expensive, while berries speed up the healing process, but are abundant

I wasn't sure if I should post this, it came out kind of cringey. That said, I spent WAY too much time on this to do nothing with it, so here you go.
Arcanus huffed and puffed rapidly as he sprinted through the forest. He procured scrapes from branches that he failed to push out of the way, but he frankly didn't care... in fact, he hardly even noticed. He could get a one track mind every so often. He figured now was as good a time as any for that... well, that's not true, he didn't figure anything at the moment, he hardly had time. The only thoughts rushing through his head were worst case scenarios, all seeming just as likely as the last, somehow juxtaposed equally with a pleasant ending, almost too saccharine for the rational mind, yet seeming just as reasonable as all the others to him. Of course, the path to take was almost painfully obvious, and the time spent along it felt at the same time both endless, as if time itself slowed down and every moment dragged into infinity, and also obscenely short. Yet invariably he arrived, and what a sight it was.

"Here we are again," April sighed as she looked over her body at him from a lying position, her head on the opposite side from him, before her head plopped back down onto the ground. Arcanus was suddenly right next to her, examining every terrifying detail of her. Her wings were clearly broken, there was no doubt about that judging by the way they bent. Scrapes covered her, but there wasn't a ton of blood coming out. She was bleeding, for sure, but not at a level one might expect. Arcanus hoped that meant that maybe she would be okay. He rushed over and knelt by her side. "Seriously," she said somewhat weakly. "How do we always end up in this position? I'd like to find you on the brink of death at some point. Though something tells me I won't get that chance." Arcanus looked her over again before shaking his head.

"What do you mean? You're gonna be fine," he stammered out, the panic in his voice making it abundantly clear that somehow, he didn't fully believe that himself. April smiled up at him and sighed.

"Sweetheart. The arc of light in my life. I need to ask you something, but it won't be pleasant." Arcanus vehemently nodded.

"Of course, of course, anything!" She smiled and looked at her wounds.

"This doesn't hurt." Arcanus frowned, wondering where she was going with this. "If I had to guess, it would be that my body hasn't caught up yet, it's still in shock. But it'll be coming. When it does, it's not going to be pleasant. I'd much rather I die peacefully than writhing in pain, ya know?" Arcanus shook his head.

"April... I don't get what you're saying. What do you want from me?" April sighed.

"I want you to kill me Arc." Arcanus froze on the spot. She wanted him to... what? How could he even consider that? How could he even IMAGINE that?

"W-what?" He said softly, the struggle of that weight compressing even his voice.

"Arc, please," she pleaded. "It may be cowardly of me, b-but I don't want to die in pain. I've spent my whole life hurting, I'd like to die in peace." Arcanus grit his teeth and closed his eyes, unwilling to accept that.

"I can't," he said. "I can't... you know I can't..." April narrowed her eyes.

"Arc, please!" She yelled in desperation. "Y-you're the only one I trust!"

"I can't!" April closed her eyes with a sigh and leaned back. "I-it doesn't matter anyway. You're gonna be fine! You're going to be fine, you're not gonna-" Arcanus was interrupted as April rose to kiss him. Arcanus was shocked into silence, but he froze up as they touched. He was just completely overwhelmed, he had no idea how to respond. April pulled away ever so slightly.

"Please," she whimpered. He slowly shook his head.

"I can't..." she continued to whimper as tears began to come out as her whimpers grew louder and louder until she threw her head back and screamed. Arcanus sat there, wishing more than anything that he could help her, but ultimately powerless. Though... that's not true. There WAS something he could do. He stood up and prepared a move, looking down at April.

Arcanus used...

Arcanus used...

Arcanus used...

Arcanus...

He shook his head and fell back to his knees. "I just can't do it," he sputtered as tears finally began to leave him as well. A rustle from the nearby bushes might have gotten his attention if he wasn't so distraught.

Out from the bushes leapt Max, pursued by two shadows. He quickly dodged their attacks and batted them off, and soon they were downed. Quickly, he looked over at the two and sighed.

"I had a bad feeling this was happening." He ran over to April and moved Arcanus aside, who very reluctantly agreed simply out of hope that Max could do something. Max placed his paw on April and closed his eyes, his aura sensors rising into the air. After a few moments, he stood up and moved his paws around in a weird motion, before stabbing his paw into her wounds and pushing around. Arcanus jumped up.

"What the hell are you-!" Max blasted Arcanus back with an Aura Sphere, and while it didn't hurt, it pushed him back a bit. He hadn't even realized he was charging at Max. April screeched in pain as Max hit her in various places as Arcanus watched in horror. Soon, however, the screams stopped and Max stood up. "What... what did you do?"

"I readjusted the flow of aura within her." Arcanus seemed visibly confused. "Aura determines everything about someone. Adjusting the flow of aura can do almost anything."

"So... you saved her?"

"Not... quite. I can't do that, I'm not trained enough. Few can save someone who would otherwise die. Toying with aura is immensely dangerous, you're forcefully moving their soul and life essence... if I tried to save her, she would likely suffer a fate worse than death." He sighed and lowered his head. "I stopped her pain. The downside to that is that I expedited her death. You-"

"What?!" Arcanus yelled angrily. Max sighed.

"It was the merciful thing to do." It did not appear that Max was happy with himself either. "You only have a short time left together. I will leave. I suggest you say your farewells." Still looking downtrodden, Max left the clearing. Arcanus glared at him angrily as he left.

"Arc..." Arcanus jumped as April spoke and immediately ran over to her.

"Yes gem..." she smiled weakly up at him.

"Looks like you won't have to kill me after all. Lucky you." Arcanus almost wanted to laugh at the absurdity of that. April's wings remained limp by her side, and she took heavy, labored breaths. Her face looked exhausted, as if she'd flown for an entire day without rest. Arcanus couldn't help but cry.

"April... gem... please..."

"Oh, you know I have no control over this." She smiled weakly up at him. "I don't WANT to die, but here we are."

"How are you so calm about this?!" April thought for a moment.

"I guess it just hasn't really set in yet." She sighed. "I had so much more I wanted to do." She was silent for a moment before she sighed once again. "I'm gonna die a virgin. Damn." That was just so awkward and out of left field that Arcanus couldn't help but laugh, though his tears didn't cease with that. "Yeah, you like that? That's your fault mister."

"A-apologies." She smiled at him.

"Arc."

"Y-yes?"

"I'll love you for the rest of my life." Arcanus tried to smile, but it came out as a sort of grimace.

"I'll love you forever, gem. It would've been an honor to spend my life with you." April smiled at him further.

"Well, it's too late to become mates... why don't we just get married?" Arcanus blinked multiple times.

"Huh?"

"It's a human thing. It's like... a promise that you'll be together forever. Like being mates without the mating part." Arcanus nodded slowly.

"I-I see... then... I would be happy to." April smiled and leaned up, kissing him deeply once again. After a few moments, she pulled back with a tired smile.

"It's done." April had a goofy expression on her face, a sort of blank smile as she laughed a bit, and it only just then became clear to Arcanus that she was beginning to become a bit loopy. Did even April know what she was doing? "Here comes the bride..." she began singing with a little giggle and a sigh.

"April... a-are you alright?"

"Probably not," she said with her dopey smile. She'd lost it. Arcanus frowned. It was more than that... she was beginning to become quieter and quieter.

"Arc," she said. "If I'm gonna be honest... I'm feeling pretty tired right now... I might just go to sleep." Arcanus's eyes widened as he grabbed on to her.

"No! Gem, don't do that!" April smiled weakly.

"Mmm, it's nice that you care. But... I think I'm gonna doze off." Arcanus's tears came forward in full force as April sighed. "I've been really selfish recently, b-but I have one last thing to ask."

"Anything!" Arcanus immediately responded. April waited a while, possibly gathering her words or possibly just gathering the energy.

"Can I fall asleep in your arms... one last time?" Arcanus reached between April and the grassy floor and lifted her up, holding her tight against him. She sighed contently and wedged her head in the crook of his neck, returning the hug as best as she could without her wings. "April Howitz Eleos... it has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?"

Soon, noises could be heard as people entered the clearing. Each of them had their own variety of reactions, but soon a gasp could be heard clearly.

"APRIL!" Nathan rushed up to the two and sat down, looking at her. April was unmoving and unbreathing, but a smile was upon her face.

"April is sleeping," Arcanus said in a defeated and resigned tone.

Even though he'd suddenly lost the one he loved... His one and only. Even though agonizing tears came down his face unlike ever before.. He smiled. He whispered quietly with an almost angelic gentleness to his voice...

"Sleep well, my gem."

Awww. That is really sweet. A very good addition.

Also, Easter egg.

"Sweetheart. The arc of light in my life."

Arc, the character in my other roleplay that I told you about. His full name is Arc Light.
:3 thankie!
I'm honestly glad it's not canon. X_X that would have taken me out irl for a good 24-48 hours.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"APRIL IS DEAD!!" *Runs off*
Yeah. I love killing my characters, and even I am starting to get sad at the idea of killing April. She is one of the only characters of mine who I've ever had who I actually care MORE about than the Max of that roleplay.

See! You're not a complete psychopath! There is still hope for you yet! Go, and do an Undertale pacifist route!

Alistair found a flat rock, and a pebble, but he realized that he needed other things to make the healing paste. "Maybe... If I just squeeze the berries?" he thought aloud as he squeezed the handful of Sitrus Berries over the wounds. Once finished, he grabbed out a rag, and wiped his hands. Latios Latios Assailant Assailant Daisie Daisie

Gahhhskfkv I don't really play the game, but the idea of squeezing citrus all over a wound is just agonizing. Which is what sounds like is happening.

I'm sure it doesn't feel pleasent, but it sounds like it would help. Thankfully Max isn't conscious to feel the pain
