Right. Yeah, it's been awhile. Only movies I know well are The First Movie, 4Ever, and Mystery of Mew (though my faith is a bit shaken after that whole "aura tracking" thing.)

What's the lore regarding the rest of the world? For instance, did Red or Ash defeat Team Rocket? Is Brock a gym-leader, or breeder?

The only Black Latios
Brook is both. According to the Show, he was the gym leader at a time until ash came along. He wanted to join him on his journey. He father who had just returned took over for him. During his gym leader days he sent part of him time working as a breeder too, but he could never fully realize his dream because he had to take care of his 20 or so siblings and keep the gym open.
Technically speaking, Ash never beat Team Rocket, only the annoying trio that follows him. (FYI, I don't remember a single movie or episode that didn't show one of them, think about that). Though there's one problem, the games and shows timeline clash. Team Rocket is active in the show but not after the game, at lest, not by Giovanni. In the next game, gold and silver, four members of Team Rocket become the new leaders and have a side quest to find him again. You actually get to meet him in the Celibi event.
So I have no idea where to go on that, but because most of my data is TV based, let's say thier active.

You'll see 
if your referring to the last post. Zapdos basically came down them zoomed over the the exit to look again at the land. Latios pushed Max onto his back and zoomed after him.

Max is on Latios's back, not his own. He did that to get Max down without him having to jump. Getting up is one thing but down is another.

Looking back through old posts, I completely forgot about Umbra. Daisies first character here. She asked for a tent when we were buying supplies at the first town. Apparently we forgot about said tent.
