Assailant. I just realized something.

The Shadow's are invading neighboring universes.

ECLIPSE IS JUST SHADOW IN DISGUISE

Care to explain?
It's from a previous roleplay the two of us were in. One of the main antagonists was named "Shadow" who turned people into shadows and forced them to obey him in an attempt to conquer the world and turn everyone into shadows or slaves.

So who came first. "Shadow" or "Eclipse"

So who would win if it came to a death battle between the two.

On one had we have a basicly a Kaiju with all the powers of a super villian. And the other is (what exactly is he?)

He's a human, sort of. They're called Conduits. He has very high regenerative powers (he can take bullets and be unfazed), faster reflexes than the average person, and he has the ability to manipulate shadows and give them physical form, typically opting to use blades but he uses all sorts of things in combat. He also has a sort of berserker form where his shadow powers coat him in armor, as well as giving him fangs, blades on his hand, and claws, while also monumentally upping his strength and speed, at the cost of him not being able to think properly anymore. Oh, and he can also cloak himself in shadows and end up almost entirely invisible in the dark. And he can also turn into a ball of shadows and temporarily become almost incorporeal.

It would be a tough battle. Shadow is almost incomparably powerful in close range. If he got close to Eclipse, Eclipse would be dead in moments. However, the problem is getting close. Shadow can only sort of fly (He can use his shadow constructs to leap into the air and jump around, but he can't fly,) So Eclipse could stay at long range and fire blasts at him. Shadow has a lot of stamina, and his conduit nature allows him to have far more than the average person, but he DOES still have a limit. If Eclipse can tire Shadow and still have energy himself, it's just a matter of blasting him hard enough that it overpowers his regeneration.

I think, most likely, Shadow would win. However, environment plays a large part. If they were in a city, for instance (which is where the other RP took place,) Shadow could dash around through air vents, use his shadow camouflage, and strike from alleyways and roof tops. Eclipse wouldn't stand a chance. However, if they were on... say, a wide open field, Eclipse would stand a MUCH larger chance. Few places for Shadow to hide, few tactical plays he can make, and a large amount of range and maneuverability for Eclipse. Shadow would only be able to rely on his powers, which, while immensely strong, are still at a level that he could lose if he didn't play it intelligently.

Hmmm, well he does seem very powerful. But there's one reason why Eclipse would always win. But I can't tell you because of spoilers.

Right now you know Eclipse is basically a super sized Lati with the ability to corrupt other creatures. But he has another secret that I haven't revealed, but hinted at.

Huh. I didn't even know he was super-sized, I legit just thought he was a Lati that corrupted other creatures.

I'm interested to know how he would always win, given that, in hundereds of timelines, Shadow has conquered the world. If Shadow fought our party, he would slaughter them brutally. So I'm very interested in this.

Shadow would put up a frustrating fight for Eclipse definitely. But it's only a matter of time before Eclipse would win.

And when it come the that city encounter. It's just going to be Godzilla all over again. Shadow would have to worry about falling buildings.

Shadow would have to worry about falling buildings.
That chaos would actually be a really huge benefit for him, but yeah it would also suck.

He actually DID have a kaiju form in the works, but I never ended up showing it in the RP so I always debated to myself on whether or not that was canon

Even still. Kaiju vs Kaiju, Eclipse would win. And I'm not holding favoritism, Eclipse really does have a power that would make him the winner of any head on battle.

To put it bluntly. This whole gathering the legendaries is completely pointless.

...

how the hell are we supposed to win this thing? Kaiju Shadow would have been a battle that would leave a good ten or twenty fighters, each as powerful as our entire group, dead.

Yes. Thank you for the massive spoilers, Latios. Great.

Look I gave a major hint already that Eclipse would be sticking around. Remember when I talked about Part two that all my characters would be in it (where assailant was killing his off) I listed all my characters EVEN Eclipse in that list.

However I will tell you this, the shadows are not the problem in Part 2

I did think that was odd. I just imagine a sort of Saturday morning cartoon scenario where a bigger villain arises and like Eclipse is demoted to the new big bad's intern and every so often we just catch a glimpse of him grumbling about his fall from grace as he serves the new big bad coffee.
