Master Thief: Avery Kingwood
"KEEEEEEEEEEEH!" Kevin wailed as the Guzzlord's impact sent him sailing through the air , startled but otherwise largely unharmed thanks to his changed typing.

"You're doing great sweetie!" Avery called, tracking Kevin's arc of travel as he reached the zenith of his trajectory and started to accelerate back towards the ground. Before Kevin could pick up too much speed Avery simply recalled him, judging the fight to be fairly close to wrapped up.

"Manny, circled around and help out with those last two," Avery called, as she stashed Kenvin's pokeball and fished out a different one. "Dynamic punch if you need to but use your judgement, they can't have too much left in the tank"

Manny grunted agreeably and the alolan shirt clad behemoth took off at a steady jog towards the side of the battle that was still ongoing, closing in on the flank of the two Guzzlords that were still standing. As he approached the dwindling battle the fighting type cocked back a fist, chambering a powerful punch ready to be used or pulled back as the situation dictated.

While that was happening Avery tossed her newly retrieved pokeball, revealing a new pokemon in a flash of light that would blown minds in an ordinary setting but right here and now was almost a foot note.

"Hey kid," Avery smiled, as the flash of light from the pokeball solidified into a green, fae like pokemon with the proportions of a small child. The mythical celebi giggled and floated closely and Avery obligingly patted it on its bulb like head. "Do a quick run around with life dew okay? Top Manny and everyone else off. We're in the deep end this time and I dunno how many pokemon centres are still gonna be running out here.

"Celibi!" affirmed the little pokemon, floating off on its deceptively fragile wings to spread rejuvenating water to the allied pokemon.

The threat was neutralized…largely. The Guzzlords weren’t as terrible as Fabian was expecting or perhaps his ‘allies’ were just that impressive. It stood to reason that if the Lunala-Guy had scoured the multi-verse for people who could save this world then this level of strength was to be expected. The appearance of Celebi, another pokémon only heard of in myths and legends, only drove that home. Too bad he didn’t have any pokéballs on him, they’d been left back at the inn...a whole dimension away. Ugh! If not for that, he might’ve tried to snag one of the defeated Guzzlord for his team. You know, get a legendary for himself or something. Oh well, there were a few more important things to deal with.

Fabian shifted, trying to keep one eye on the Guzzlord and another on the man in question—the Lunala-Guy and that girl who seemed to be with him. They were the ones to ask about...well, everything. What the hell was actually going on here? The Maelstrom? Roaming packs of legendaries? Saving the world?

“Hey, I don’t mean to distract from our victory or anything, but I can think of a few questions I’d like answered before I commit to this whole ‘save the world’ thing you’ve got going on. Especially if getting attacked by Ultra Beasts is going to become the norm.”

Aegis managing to barrel into it's target with all the grace and force of a freight train was something familiar to the walking steel wall of a pokemon. Hearing the confidence of her trainer in the ability to take one of the beams the crustation-like Pokémon shot before filled it with the determination to prove it. The pink laser of energy having slammed into the targets of the last attack and themself. All they saw was pink for a moment or two and a very sharp pins and needles feeling as they blinked a few times after feeling themselves move. Regaining their vision they looked at the destruction then back toward the ground to see they did in fact get pushed by the raw power a good 3 yards. A shake of its body made it grumble. The Aggron was definitely sore from that blast even if the attack itself wasn't very effective. It's eyes scanned for enemies within striking range but when seeing none, it started to move it's way at a reasonable pace towards Miiya.

Arma was proud of its victory over the strange alien Pokémon. It didn't exactly notice the rocks that began to fall over it. Smashing the tumbling rocks out of aggrovation after getting clocked in the head by a particularly big one showed clear signs of damage. Dispite this the Arnaldo still looked raring to go as if the damage made it far more battle hungry.

Miiya watched the laser blast Aegis and smirked at the resilience displayed even if she expected the walking tank to be able to take that fairy type attack no problem. She gave a nod to the red haired trainer with the odd Whimsicott stoking the flames of it's own ego. She let her eyes scan over the rest of the trainers around the area and took mental notes of what they were doing and how they were fighting now that she had a second to do so. Honestly she was rather impressed at the mastery some of them were displaying.

She started to recall some previously said information. This couldn't be all they have been facing, not by a long shot. Realistically these enemy pokemon seem strong, but champion level trainers are a rarity but they shouldnt have had trouble with stuff like this. Also, elite four trainers aren't pushovers either. Even with sheer numbers, highly trained and effective teams of pokemon logically should have a distinct advantage over something like this. Personally she never had experience with ultra beasts, nor has she seen one before today. She can't determine how strong they are naturally but champions the like of Steven Stone, or even gym leaders shouldn't have much in the level of difficulty against this. It doesn't make much sense. There are pieces of the picture missing, why everything is falling apart this way.

Answers however won't just land in her lap. Also, what's to say after this occurance happening here is completed her world couldnt fall under siege next? No, she can't allow that.

Eric Wolfe
As the battle raged on around them, Eric could see they were steadily gaining ground against the rampaging pokemon. With any luck, they'd have the battle wrapped up in the next few minutes and the valley could be safe once more. If only for a little while, if the state of things was to be believed. The thought that their arrival was the cause of this attack twisted his stomach. He was supposed to help people, not put them all in danger. We'll have to find a way to make it up to them . . . Maybe help with repairs?

Eir's moonblast surged in power at the last second, sending the Guzzlord crashing into the canyon hidden from sight by a cloud of dust. Her power surged in response to the ultra beast's defeat as her copied beast boost kicked into effect. The blue tinted Gardevoir's body shimmered as she hummed and gave a graceful twirl, feeling the misty terrain wash over her once more. Empowered once more, she began gathering power for another moonblast, but let the attack disperse in a burst of light with a sigh. The remaining two Guzzlords quickly fell to the other pokemon on the field. Eir seemed to float as she returned to her trainer's side.

Tyr released a shaky breath as his shield weathered another series of blows. The Gallade saw Tapu Fini's acknowledgment and returned the nod. While he didn't know anything about the legendary, the pokemon was able to power emanating from the island guardian. Seeing that the last of the fleeing trainers had made it to safety and the Inciniroar had taken to the air, he let his barrier fall away. Tyr let out a calming breath, letting his body relax and lighten with a swell of psychic energy. His boosted Agility came in handy as he sprinted away from the incoming blow, dancing across the splitting earth. The Gallade winced as the shaking ground rattled him to his core, but he kept moving until he was back with his sister Eir.

"Good job," Eric patted his pokemon on the shoulder, watching the end of the battle play out. He tensed, watching as the aura around one of the Guzzlords vanished. When a pokemon was knocked out in a battle, its aura faded but was still visible. This just guttered and died instead. Eric felt a chill at the sight. "Shit . . . we didn't actually . . ." He had to have been seeing things. With how overwhelming the pokemon's aura had been, powerful enough he could see it without focusing, he could only pray it returning to normal would look the same as its life fading entirely. Eric took a steadying breath, trying to center his focus and thoughts to see the auras around him.

Focus that wavered as Celebi flew by, scattering healing waters over the battlefield. Unlike Lunala and the Island Guardians, Eric was familiar with the myths surrounding Celebi. He glanced over at Avery, I shouldn't be surprised someone else here has a pokemon like that. But . . . His gaze wandered back towards the alter where Surtr still stood. Does that mean it'll be in danger?

As the last Guzzlord was fell, the canyon returned to its usual quietness, but the tension and unease lingered in the air like the now motionless bodies of the rotund dragons. However, one Guzzlord seems to be still alive as it twitched a bit, not wanting to battle, but clearly to attempt to flee. A illuminated portal begin to form below the dark dragon's body as it sunk into the wormhole, the portal quickly shrinking behind it.

"Agallion! Intercept it!" Zaniah commanded Naganadel to follow, the winged purple Pokemon attempted to follow as it delved into the wormhole as well. After a few moments of silence Lunala's moon shaped shadow blitzed passed the sky, as it ripped apart the space around the portal and also delve into the dimensional hole behind Guzzlord, in a few seconds another wormhole opened up a few steps away, the fleeing Guzzlord was tossed out of the wormhole followed by the hovering Lunala. Naganadel also emerged and returned to its trainer's side.

"Phew...did we make it?" The dark purple haired girl half walked and half ran wearily up the rocky formations, Lunala retreating to near her once more.

"...Yeah. It didn't get away." Zaniah responded while looking out for any other potentially escaping ultra beasts.

Alaula seems to have predicted that these trainers brought to this world would have concerns, it was only natural. She sighed slightly before being brought down to the former battle field by the Lunala behind her. She looked up at the tinted sky, with a few sparkles peppered in the gloominess by life dew. "...Celebi...I never thought I would ever see one for myself." The girl, as gloomy as the tinted sky, raised out her hand and looked at the sparkles drop into her hand with a sadden smile. "I never thought I would be so close with Lunala either...I truly wish it wasn't under these circumstances." She lamented quietly, but quickly regained her former composure.

"Thank you for your help." She bowed gently to the trainers who stood beneath the altar. "I...I suppose I should explain from the start about...what's happening here. I was just a child when it first started, it was about eight...nearly nine years ago."

She sighed again while looking at the ground, seemingly recollecting something. "At first, it was something that appeared over the ocean near the Regions of Orre and Unova, it was...a storm, of some sort. It wasn't any normal storm, it didn't really move, or disappear with time, it just sat there everyday. Of course, everyone was either scared of it or curious about it, so expeditions were sent into it by the Unova Region...and there wasn't any results. The expeditions didn't return. After that, the entire world became concerned about it, we all dubbed it the 'Eternal Maelstrom'." Alaula pointed to the dark clouds that swirled on the horizon of the ocean, beyond the islands of Alola.

"You can see it from here, it haven't faded one bit all these years. Instead, it got larger, larger and larger. The nautical Pokemon that lived near the Maelstrom got more aggressive, even destructive, as time went on. And the more it swallowed, the stronger it became, the more fanatical the Pokemon affected by it became as well."

"The leading theory is that the Maelstrom got to legendary Pokemon that primarily inhabits the ocean, that's what caused it to expand rapidly. And soon...that theory was proven, because its effects has hit land dwelling Pokemon as well. The same phenomenon began to occur in various regions, starting from those that are the closest to the Maelstrom, everyone tried to fight back, the Pokemon Leagues, the Champions, but then......"

"...Then it began to affect all the legendary Pokemon as well, whether they use to avoid people, were peaceful, or even lived in harmony with humans, they all became senselessly destructive, even a region's Champion and League couldn't hold them back. A single one, perhaps barely, but multiple..."
Her voice trailed off into silence.

"...And that's what the 'Great Collapse' is. When all the Pokemon Leagues and their Champions fell in a short period of time." Zaniah added as he noticed Alaula's melancholic tone trailing away.

"...Yes, that's what it is. The Alola Region was lucky, the island guardians has been the companions of the island Kahunas for generations, they were more resistant to the corruption. And Lunala, Lunala is capable of taking refuge in other worlds to escape its influence and-" The girl wanted to continue, but was rather abruptly cut off by the man near her.

"-But it's possible that won't always be the case." Zaniah nodded to the defeated Guzzlords laying around the area. "This corruption spreads through Pokemon that it takes hold, which explains why the situation deteriorated so rapidly once the legendary Pokemon got involved. We don't know how many it has influenced by now, but since it includes ultra beasts that are capable of opening wormholes..."

"If it were to overcome powerful Pokemon with the ability to warp dimensions, we can't rule out the possibility of this blight spreading to other worlds."
His voice was serious, but rather calm and professional considering the subject matter. As if understanding what he is saying seems rather farfetch'd, the lilac-haired man finally formally introduced himself. "Zaniah Prasiola, International Police. I specialize in dealing with cataclysmic incidents of extra-dimensional nature, and I sincerely hope that all of you, being the trainers that you are, can help with the investigation and preservation of this world."

A whole new world...

"Not bad...." muttered Darius as he watched the Aggron's reaction down below; the behemoth clad in metallic armor doing well to have only been pushed a few feet, despite its type advantage to the empowered beam of fairy infused energy. He hadn't even offered a moments consideration towards the obsidian colored sentient gutlord that had been rendered motionless, smoke contrails flickering off of its smouldering lump of a body as it lay there unconcious; an expected outcome considering everything that had occurred.

"Aegir, Loki, Return" commanded Darius as he held their respective luxury balls; the two pokemon dissappearing in a flash of red energy as they were once more sealed away in their devices. The battle itself had long since entered its final stages; the rampaging bottomless pits severely lower in numbers than when they first decided to interrupt the introductions as well as Darius's attempt to retrieve what Eric had stolen.

Alas, unlike Fabian whom had taken the opportunity to return the focus towards this whole 'saving the world' schtick, Darius's attention was instead drawn ahead towards the rest of the battlefield; eyes fixed upon the fae like mythical. Despite the unfavourable situation that had seemingly been thrust upon him, it seemed like there was definetily opportunity to profit.

Smirking, Darius would turn away from the sight of Celebi and instead focus his glare towards the pair that had summoned all of them to this god forsaken realm; the younger of the two beginning to divulge the whole story; the ominous storm that loomed beyond the ocean's expanse; the destruction and chaos that had spread across the region and the ultimate demise of this worlds veteran trainers.

While the story itself was full of despair, Darius's expression had for the most part remained unchanged; his glare ever present as his gaze shifted between Zaniah and Alaula whenever each of them spoke, though once Zaniah had finished, he would quickly step in and interject.

"... and what do we get in return for cleaning up this worlds mess?"

Chorus the Corviknight
Voilanc the Salamence
Raol the Incineroar

The last of the Guzzlords fell. Tension loosened without any threats looming on the horizon - he checked - and Richard tapped on Voilanc' neck. The Salemence, sharp to the little signs they developed over years, descended. Raol and Chorus awaited, the former with a look of contempt and the latter with pride. Too weak, the Incineroar's expression said, and Richard merely smirked in return.

"It's them that's strong, yeah?"

Raol did not budge, but Voilanc's agreeing cry honestly reflected his take on the view. Richard's laughter did not reach his eyes. Any one of them would be a strategic unit in his suppression of Team Plasma, yet this request gathered everyone onto one World. While he held a confident smile as he recalled Chorus and Voilanc into their Luxury Balls, Raol stood arms crossed behind him without any hint of smile.

Freedom was limited to the powerful.

The lesson was painfully hammered long past and its bolt unmoved. Richard listened to the tragedy that wrecked this world havoc, the ugliness of Champions' individualism rearing their heads, and the desperation everything led to. Hilda, the young genius, would have agreed to their request in a heart beat. The gal had a heart as pure as the crystallization of her talent. Purity that his heart did not contain.

"No hard feelings man, but this guy got some point." Richard gestured at electric-stare Darius and shrugged. "If all you need's one Kyurem or just some thugs about, I'll jump in no issue. You said it yourself that this is hella different."

"No idea about most of these... folks here."
What the fuck is that a Celebi. Richard blinked before his gaze returning to Alaula and Zaniah. "But I'm Unova's Champion back home. The International Tournament's coming up, rumors of Legendaries showing up, I got responsibilities."

About time he found a successor and travel again, too, Richard thought. He continued, "This not about not wanting to help, but about being able to take responsibility about my time missing. Being a little blunt, your Unova here got nothing to do with me or my responsibility."

Richard showcased pity his voice lacked. "So this guy's here once more, sorry."

"What's in it for cleaning the mess this place is for us?"

Avery Kingwood: Master Thief
"...Are you guys idiots?"

After checking over Kevin for signs of injury or the weird aggression he had been displaying during the fight (the little goofball seemed fine) Avery had jogged over towards the centre of the group to meet up with Celery where the kid was finishing up his healing rounds. There was a rather tedious three way conversation between two of her fellow isekaiers and the princess girl who had summoned them with the help of Lunala, a conversation Avery didn't hesitate to barge into, as Celery came to rest daintily on top of her head.

"Seriously have you guys never read a single isekai manga? The heroes always make out like bandits!" Avery looked around at her conversation partners and, perhaps sensing that wouldn't convince them she cleared her throat and continued. "First of all I should introduce myself, Avery Kingwood, master thief, a pleasure to make your acquaintances. Owing to the whole... alternate universes thingy I'm guessing you aren't familiar with my work but I stole a prototype masterball from Silph, kidnapped this goober on top of my head from Team Rocket and once I stole an island. Not like, the deed to an island or anything like that, the actual landmass, it was a whole thing. Anyway I'm not saying this to brag, I'm pretty sure we're all basically in the same league I just want to establish my credentials as a professional before I show you something," So saying Avery reached into one of the pouches on her belt and pulled out a rather battered, but otherwise unremarkable notebook with a black cover.

"This is kind of my bucket list, in this book is every major heist I want to pull off before I die. The Cinnabar Lab research data? The Sky Pillar Mural? The legendary red hat said to rest atop Mount Silver? All in this book. And in this universe its all totally unguarded, ripe for the taking as soon as we clean up this mess. The poor folks here will be too busy rebuilding to miss any of it so anything you've ever wanted or needed is up for grabs. If you really can't think of a way to extract some value out of this for yourself, your region then that seems more like a failure of creativity on your part than anything else,"

Avery smiled, widely and brightly. "...Unless you were pretending not to realize any of this to wrangle more concessions out of this young lady that is, that would be pretty creative,"

Miiya hummed softly as her Pokémon returned to her she looked over her Armaldo for any thing serious before reaching up and rubbing it's head. "You did good Arma... Get some rest." The blue rock and bug Pokémon made a sound in affirmation even if it's battle Hunger hadn't exactly been sated and it was eyeing the other Pokémon in the area warily until it was recalled into its ultraball. The steel giant was next to arrive by her it lowering itself for it's head to be near her own. "You did well Aegis, I'm very proud of you. Does anywhere hurt?" The Aggron shook it's head in the negative. It indeed did look unharmed for the most part but that didn't mean rest wasn't required. "Alright, perhaps next time we have a big endurance bout seeing how long you can go against Nina, Galahad, and Arma. I think that will be the next step." The metal clad Pokémon seemed to snort and slap it's tail lightly against the ground. "Okay get some rest." Now with both of her combatant Pokémon recalled and in their respective capture devices she noted her Nidoqueen moving back towards her side.

A soft clear of her throat as she prepared her voice to talk taking it has her turn next even if she was the first to arrive to introduce herself to everyone formally. "I shall take my turn to introduce myself formally. My name is Miiya Kyuuga. Where I'm from, I held the title of youngest Kalos Champion. Went undefeated, some personal events and purging Kalos of Team Flare I retired from the position and left Kalos to become the Viridian gym leader in Kanto." She finished her small intro adjusting the badge she had pinned to her chest. "I find it logical to assume that it is unlikely that our own worlds or times aren't safe from this dubious occurance. If that is indeed the case I wish to eradicate the root of this problem before it gets worse than it already is."

With her general introduction out of the way she turns her attention to Darius and moves to be closer to him offering her hand to him shake. "I appreciate your cooperation. If by chance you decide to stay, I'd hope to forge a form of teamwork with you."

“Tch!”

Now, Fabian was a habitual skeptic but between explicit interdimensional travel and the clearly visible whatever maelstrom, he felt that Zaniah’s explanation was—if not immediately, then at least warranted further investigation. “The sketchy girl’s got a point, even if it’s for all the wrong reasons.”

“If these guys are to be trusted, if everything they’ve said is true—and I’m not saying that it is but…” The Paldean gestured towards the dark clouds on the horizon. “That isn’t just a hurricane.”

“If these guys are right about the eternal whatever—and that’s a big IF—then it’s going to keep growing and eventually… well, call it a hunch, but I think the Kalosian is right. I’d wager our own realities aren’t too far from this one. They were close enough for Lunala to reach them all in one trip, after all. I’d give it…I don’t know, another ten or twenty years?”

It was more of an assumption than anything else, but if this world had been nearly overrun in just under ten years, then another decade or two would surely see this maelstrom invading neighboring realities. And twenty years was extremely generous, if the maelstrom infected realities through pokémon to pokémon transmission then its speed of infection would only increase as more pokémon capable of dimensional travel were infected.

“Once this world is overrun the inter-dimensional cancer will spread, and it sounds like our worlds are next. At that point, we’ll deal with more than just a dozen Ultra beasts…

“I don’t fancy my home turning into…whatever this is…in another 20 years, so you can count me in.”

A whole new world...

It didn't take long for others to begin speaking up; the first being the trainer who had taken quickly taken to the skies upon his armoured avian. Not only did he have the smarts to allow himself an aerial view of the chaos taking place beneath, but he had the capacity to rationally control three pokemon simultaneously to the best of their abilities. As opposed to jumping into the fray hastily without so much as an iota of knowledge as to how dangerous this most recent threat, like some trainers had done.

It seemed that like Darius, this man too had a reservations towards the unfolding situation before them, though he was perhaps a bit more maleable towards the idea of helping out the situation so long as he had a justifiable reason to do so. Darius was perhaps skewed a bit more towards an actual incentive, something that would personally give him reason to place his life on the line for a group of people who for all intense and purposes meant very little to him; after all just a few hours ago he didn't even know a single one of them aside from the hero wannabe thief that was Eric.

It was pure fantasy and delusion if these summoners believed that people would simply comply and help without question; that people with power and strength would so easily submit to a strangers request to wipe their ass for them. Sure, there were probably a few here with a screw loose, with ego abundant that they believed themselves to be a hero of justice, a saviour to those destined for despair. A sly glance was thrown Eric's way, though no words were said. This was the real world, not some fantasy realm where whatever you wished for came to fruition. For people... strangers to put their lives on the line for a world that wasn't even their own; there had to be equal if not greater compensation. To think otherwise was little more than selfish ego born from the desperation of the helpless. Very little did more to aggravate Darius, watching the weak cling upon the strong, to beg them for help without even considering the required price that must be paid.

Listening to Richard ramble on about his list of accomplishments, Darius would remain rooted to his spot; observing the others that had been brought here against their will; gauging their reactions in an attempt to see which side of the line they fell upon when it came to placing their lives on the line.

The next to speak up would be the purple haired trainer, the one that had called forth the mythical fairy of the forest; sometimes referred to as the 'voice of the forest'. Her ownership of the mythical pokemon had already hinted towards her prowess as a trainer; though beyond that, Darius's current opinion of her was only growing worse, considering the irony behind her calling them idiots. Listening to the self proclaimed master thief introduce herself, Darius could do very little but take note of the flaws in her aspirations.

Miiya would introduce herself next, another champion of Kalos and the present gym leader of her own worlds Kanto region. Unlike Avery who apparently appeared to want to help; if only to 'steal' treasure, Miiya however appeared to take the stance of preventing this chaos from spreading to other universes. A notable point, Darius had to admit; though one that wasn't yet strong enough to convince him to offer charity to this worlds inhabitants. However it did seem to convince the one known as Fabian; the man all too ready to sign his name up for this doomsday suicide squad mission. Alas, before he would address Miiya's handshake, he would first address the self proclaimed master thief.

"Idiot?" replied Darius, turning to face Avery. "That's a bit ironic considering you don't even seem to realize the biggest flaw in your thinking, despite referring to our current predicament as some kind of shounen manga plotline. This is a new world, an alternate reality. Who is to say that this fabled red hat you desire is even red in this world? For all we know it could be fucking blue. he continued, tone hinting towards some underlying frustration. "This isn't some anime storyline. We have not been hit by a truck and suddenly found ourselves reincarnated into another universe with strengths gifted to us by some unseen god or goddess above. For all intense and purposes, this is reality; a world torn asunder by chaos. People from this world have lost their lives, the heroes -he spat at the word- and champions of this universe have lost their lives... too weak to clean up their own mess" he paused and pointed towards the ones that had summoned them here. "Why should we now do their bidding and save this forsaken world? Place our lives at risk for a world that isn't even our own" he paused again. "While some of us here may be willing to play along with the idea of being a hero of justice, I for one have outgrown that childish fantasy. If I am to put my life on the line for a world that isn't my own, for people I couldn't give two shits about, then I need to know what exactly I am getting out of it. Nothing in life is free and there is always a price to pay. That is the real world, that is reality. I suggest you open your eyes and realize that this dying world does not have the charity to play along with your childish fantasy. If they want strength and power, then they must be willing to offer something of equal value"

He would turn to Miiya next as she had her hand held out; Darius merely looking down towards the outstretched appendage for a few moments before reluctantly shaking it. Despite not totally agreeing with her point, he did have to respect that she was indeed a strong trainer. "Whether I stay or go depends on the answer of our hosts. I have no respect towards those that would beg for help from the strong even less so towards those that have the audacity to request it without offering something equal in return" he turned to face Miiya and then Fabian. "If this chaos is capable of spreading to other universes, then as he suggested, it may take several years and if that is the case, that is several years in our universes to prepare for this chaos, to protect what is important to us and protect those close to us. Not strangers. We would be able to fend off this chaos with knowledge beforehand of the danger it brings, unlike this world that was caught unawares. We would have a better chance of survival with years to prepare for this looming danger" he then focused his attention more towards Fabian. "Alternatively, if we fail here, there would be nobody to warn those back in our universe, nobody to save them. They would be left to the mercy of whatever that maelstrom is."

He paused and turned to face those he had taken to believe were infected with the 'heroic flu of justice'. "Before any of you chirp up with your heroic sense of bullshit about not failing. Realize that this world is vastly different to our own. These rampaging beasts will have no hesitation of taking your life. Not some anime isekai where you can respawn at the nearest church. They have already done so with this worlds strongest trainers, whose to say they won't have an appetite for some exotic out of this world flavours" he not turned back to Alaula and Zaniah.

"I am asking you, our so humble hosts. What do we get for saving this world? Because as it stands, I see more benefit in letting this world perish if it means buying time for my world to prepare itself for this threat"

Miiya listened to Fabian's explanation and firmly shook Darius' hand when he reciprocated the action. Darius did make several good points of argument. It wasn't like Miiya wasn't doing this for her own reasons. It wasn't some sense of justice, it was more of the idea that removing the problem now even if it was a struggle would be better than allowing the issue gain any more strength and losing the capability of stopping it all together. Even if she were to go back and use what she knew to help her universe prepare. Unless she had some level of knowledge on how to stop this it wouldn't matter how well prepared they were the world would inevitably be overtaken just like this one nearly is. She began to think the words coming from her in a low volume, "I can see how that makes sense, if we did get wiped from this our worlds would likely be affected in time and with no forewarning. However, there is merit to removing the problem before it grows any more out of control than it is. If that storm gets a hold on Lunala, it's effects can travel to our universes." She falls silent as if mulling some things over before continuing her quiet muttering. "Even if the theif is rather out there she does have one thing correct at least... If all if not most of the powerful trainers are gone or missing then there isn't really much stopping anyone from taking anything from this world. Artifacts, coveted Masterballs, even the legendary pokemon of this world could be up for grabs provided we find them. Even if this world is in relative ruin that doesn't mean we can't take things back with us once the job is done. It might even be worth the time to look for the legendary Pokémon and capture them to use against the storm. I'm no expert but I believe Rayquaza, Kyogre, and Groudon have a substantial effect on the weather. Finding and utilitizong them may have an effect on the storm. Nothing saying that we can't take them with us when we leave." While it's true they could potentially use them to rebuild all of the damage the world has suffered if any. "Plus any notable signs can be recorded and taken to our respective worlds to ensure there won't be any further happenings just as a precaution." She continued to mumble and mutter a few other things that were unintelligible but likely falls under similar lines of what was already said clearly attempting to make a plan.

Eric Wolfe
Shaking off the shock of seeing Celebi soaring through the air, Eric took a slow breath and closed his eyes in an attempt to recenter himself. Focus on his own breaths, his heartbeat, the swirl of emotions and adrenaline that followed a battle. Scarlet eyes opened to take in the battlefield from a new perspective. Even with newly honed focus, the pervasive feeling of dread smothered everything in a blanket of dread. But underneath that, auras flickered and swirled. Life persisting despite the crushing odds.

His own aura came into focus first. He flexed his right arm, seeing where its flow had diminished slightly. Shaking off the pained memory, he took in the auras of his companions next. Familiar and comforting, they were a steady presence at his side through everything. Eric gave them a small nod before turning his gaze to the Guzzlords scattered across the battlefield. Their auras seemed so dim now compared to the raging inferno of moments ago, but they were there for the most part. Most of the ultra beasts had just been knocked out.

Eric drew a sharp breath over his teeth as he took a closer look at the few that took the brunt of the fairy type moves. Their auras weren't dim but snuffed out entirely. Maybe . . . that's for the best. The thought made him sick as quickly as it crossed his mind. But whatever was affecting these pokemon was driving them into mindless rampages, and from the way it sounded, there wasn't a known remedy. Would death be a mercy? Eric shook the thought away, breaking his focus. "There has to be a better way," he told himself.

Looking at his pokemon, he gave them a weak smile. "Good job, you two, get some rest." He recalled Eir and Tyr into their pokeballs before starting back towards the altar. The solemn mood didn't last as the one remaining Guzzlord tore through reality in an attempt to flee the area. At first, the trainer thought nothing of it. If the rampaging pokemon had been quelled enough it lost the will to fight, then there was no sense in continuing on, right? The pair that had summoned them didn't share the opinion as their pokemon dove in after it. The now unconscious Guzzlord was unceremoniously dumped back onto the ground within seconds of its attempted escape.

He crossed his arms, listening to the pair's story as they were finally able to explain the events that led up to their summoning. An eternal storm that corrupts pokemon... His gaze traveled briefly to the swirling mass in the distance. Scarlet eyes snapped back onto Zaniah as he mentioned the next bit of info, the corruption spread through pokemon. Pokemon that were capable of traveling between dimensions. "So it might only be a matter of time before--"

Darius said:
"... and what do we get in return for cleaning up this world's mess?"

Eric had to stop the snarl that threatened to overtake his features. Chances were high that their own homes were going to be the next victims of this corruption, and all he could focus on was the potential rewards? It wasn't long before another spoke up in agreement. Richard's smug attitude from before had screamed region champion. Too similar to the guy back home.

Avery was the next to chime in, surprisingly gungho about their new situation. Though for . . . perhaps just as greedy reasons as the other two. "I don't . . . think master thieves usually advertise the fact they're one?" He shrugged, listening to her ramble off a list of potential treasures just waiting to be claimed.

Avery said:
"The legendary red hat said to rest atop Mount Silver?"

"Wait, that's a thing where you're from too?" He asked, train of thought momentarily derailed. "That stupid thing's the reason people keep leaving hats on the summit of Mount Coronet back home!" He'd spent an entire day helping rangers collect them before pokemon could get a hold of them and potentially get hurt.

A sharp elbow from Freja brought his focus back to the ongoing conversation. "10-20 years before it starts hitting other worlds might be a bit generous even. It sounds like this stuff spread real fast once it got started." For all he knew, it had already spread to different dimensions. It might've even come from another fallen world in the first place.

Darius spoke once more, Eric scowled at him from the corner of his eye. Despite that, an eyebrow was still quirked at the admin's . . . surprisingly in-depth knowledge of anime tropes. He doesn't seem the type. Despite the surprise and his deeply rooted dislike of the man, Darius made some valid points. If this really would spread, then they at least had the advantage of being able to warn people and prepare. Assuming anyone even believed their crazy stories.

And if they died here . . . who would be left to warn home? They'd be caught unawares in just the same way.

"Dammit." He hissed under his breath, fingertips digging into his crossed arms. Home needed warned, but he couldn't just leave these people like this. Condemning countless people and pokemon to this fate? He'd never be able to forgive himself. Even if it could potentially save far, far more. Knowing Yggdrasil, you guys would just try to find some way to profit off this if it made its way back home."

Eric finally turned towards Darius. "We still have a chance to nip it in the bud before it has a chance at spreading back home. But go on back if that's not a good enough reason for you. If we manage to fend off and save these super powered legendaries though, mopping up the rest of your goons will be a walk in the park in comparison." Coming away way stronger than they were when they arrived in this world felt like a no-brainer to Eric.

Actually surviving was the real issue.

"Zaniah, right?" He looked back at the man that had summoned them. "If you're really part of some special task force that deals with this kind of stuff, then getting warnings out to the other worlds should be pretty doable for you, right? Got buddies stationed elsewhere or some crazy headquarters between dimensions even?"

Raol the Incineroar
...What in Distortion is an isekai?

Richard held a look of confusion followed by derision. What would a thief know about the world? Comparing their situation to a comic? The little respect he had for the Celebi partner evaporated like hail in harsh daylight. The nuance of his request was just flute music to a Mareep. Did she think everyone was as useless as her, satisfied with little trinkets? Raol growled, his flame flaring as his yellow gaze pressured on Avery. He understood some words and Richard's expression even more. What he did not like, the Incineroar would not, too.

So, the red haired's rebuttal was a beautiful and dramatic backslap that quirked a smile on the Sky Champion. He could do without the gratuitous reference to mangas that flew over his head, but it was a damn satisfying response in this babbles that agreed without a problem. He realized what they reminded him of; Hilda. Damn young prodigies who didn't understand the true meaning of a roadblock. More annoying was that they had the monstrous talent to back their ideals.

To someone that sweated blood and needed charity to be where he was, it was obvious they had no worry. He would, too, if he was still an unfettered traveler of the world.

But the fight against Team Plasma changed him. The death of his Gyarados Gora changed him, and his responsibilities as the Champion changed him.

"Hey, not my problem if you geniuses want to play heroes, so sit back a bit and let the adults talk." A smooth undertone enveloped Richard's cocky attitude. His smile to Eric and Miiya was kind, but his words were not. "Your request for help is a request to borrow our Unova's defense power. Not only one of the most powerful defense unit in the region, but also one with the most political significance. We are preparing to host an International Tournament. To have the Champion unavailable is a huge loss. Some had sighted Legendary pokemon in our region too, which required a Champion's attention to avoid the wrong hands landing on them. Not to mention the ongoing suppression of Team Plasma. Not to mention the danger this emergency would have. If I bleed dry here, what you can you do? I'm dead, dead, and without anything to show for it."

Purple flames flashed behind Richard. Raol's growl deepened and grew with the intensity of the Will-O-Wisp. Richard pretended not to see the Incineroar's Intimidation and smiled. Raol knew what to do, as always.

"I kindly accept your time frame, 10 to 20 years, and that it could spread to other dimensions, without question."
Richard patted his shirt off nonexistent dust. "So, due to the emergency nature of the request and the poor state this region was in, we will accept a deferred payment. Let's see..."

"Three years harvest of the core ingredients for Max Revive."
Richard had a kind smile. "We'll generously accept Max Elixir ingredients and Revive or Elixir ingredients with a 1:4 ratio. We won't touch your Legendaries or Mythicals and we are willing to wait until the region stabilizes."

Many trades happened between the regions, but not the core resources. Potions. Revives. Ability Capsule. Each and every single one was a strategic resource that could sway the direction of a war. These geniuses wanted to capture Legendaries, but he'd be damned if he believed he could actually catch one. He knew he wasn't that strong or lucky.

Richard met Alaula and Zaniah's gaze. His incineroar gaze glimmered behind his glasses and above his gengar smile.

"Yeah, what can I say? I have reasonable demands, unless some people that want to put a Rayquaza into a Pokeball."

His smile swept at Miiya and Eric.

Avery Kingwood: Master Thief
"Arghhh you guys don't get it all!" Avery groaned, ruffling her pink hair with both hands in frustration, in the process forcing Celebi to abandon his perch on her head with an annoyed chirp. Apparently blaming Darius and Richard for this disruption the mythical pokemon fixed them and Richard's incineroar with a distinctly unimpressed expression, folding its stubby little arms over its chest. Avery for her part seemed barely to notice the stinkeye she was receiving

"Listen okay?" Avery said, rounding on Darius first and poking a finger in his direction for emphasis. "If the hat is blue that's BETTER! That means its one of a kind artefact that's different from the one in my world and that's AMAZING! Who else in history would get a chance to steal that!? If the places I hit in my timeline don't exist than that means there's some other place that's new and unique for me to rob the shit out of!"

Avery shook her head. "Honestly I don't know what its like where you guys come from. Is Pokémon training not dangerous there? Is it a fun little hobby people don't take seriously? Did you not take any risks to get to this point? Right now you are standing where no one from your entire universe has ever stood before, with an entire unexplored reality stretching out ahead and all you wanna do is turn around!? Wild rapidashes couldn't drag me back through that portal!"

Avery let her finger and her shoulders dropped and suddenly she looked younger and a bit sad. She had assumed upon grasping the generalities that the other trainers who were called her would be similar to her, that they would be those who pushed boundaries and looked to scale ever greater heights! She had expected to find fellow adventures and instead met bitter, cynical men made old before their time. They reminded her of the people she normally robbed: the rich and powerful who spent all of their energy hoarding and guarding what they had instead of striving for better.

"I understand you might be confused because of my youthful charm and exuberant, magnetic personality but I am neither a child nor an idiot." Avery said, once again becoming animated and posing dramatically. "I am completely aware that I have no magical cheat skill or legendary weapon, by the way you seem to know an awful lot about those kinds of stories for someone so serious. Are you a closet otaku or something? That would explain the coat, its's kind of a lot," she shot as an aside at Damian before continuing. "I know that I have nothing backing me up except for my pokemon and my skills but guess what? Every time I've bet my life so far that was enough, because when it wasn't we found a way to stretch it just a little further. And if one day I can't stretch any further, push any higher or eke out that last little bit of luck by hook or by crook than that's exactly where I wanna die anyway."

Next Avery rounded on Richard. "And you, if you're so proud of being an adult than stop bullying a desperate child into a lop sided trade agreement. If you want to gain something from this then take it with your own two hands like a real trainer, otherwise leave. This girl can find a dozen more 'adults' like you on any floor of the last office building I robbed,"

Having seemingly said her piece, Avery dismissed herself from the conversation with a flip of her pig tails, turning towards Eric with a much friendlier expression.
"So, okay! What colour is the hat in your world, because I have theory that-..."

Alaula had a complicated expression on her face, part sadness, part bitterness, but surprisingly enough, also some relief. She stepped forth under the moving gaze of Lunala and wanted to say something, but a hand pressed on her shoulder and forced her to turn back for a brief moment.

"You did well, Kahuna." Zaniah gently patted the tense girl's back. "You should take the guardians and go back to the shelter, check if anyone got hurt, and keep an eye out for any other rogue wormholes around." An ovular shaped Pokemon also hovered near the girl, the shell opened up as Tapu Fini revealed itself, urging the purple-haired girl to come with it.

"A-Alright...but...you said these...people- You said they're stronger trainers than you, r-right? Would it be okay if I left you here alone? What if...what if something bad happens to you, then we'll-" The girl made little effort to hide her concern about the situation, though her companion was much calmer.

"Haha, I know, I know, but don't let it get on your nerves too much, there's little chance they'll try to hurt us on purpose when we're their ticket back home, and besides, if it does come to that-" Naganadel and Lunala both loomed over the altar quietly. "-it won't matter how strong the Pokemon are if you can just throw the trainer into a void, right?" It was almost a whisper as Zaniah smiled while nodding towards the direction of the portal upon the altar. Alaula looked at him, then looked at the trainers who were having some heated arguments, and finally at Lunala once more.

"...Okay." She nodded quietly, but there was a certain firmness to her voice. "...Lunala, you stay here and protect him. I won't make the same mistake twice." The crescent shadow blinked and nodded, gliding towards the portal that it opened previously as it watched the girl walk away down the cracked altar steps.

Zaniah watched the short figure leave and as soon as Alaula vanished into the rocky formations of Poni Canyon, he let out a deep breath like something was finally off his shoulders. "Whew——" He sighed as he took out some sort of flask and took a sip, whatever was in it caused quite a strange expression. "Not alcohol." He added in a rather deadpanned manner. "It's just water boiled with cheri and chesto berries, I brought it in case I fucked up and accidentally summoned some sleep paralysis demons today." He sat down on a nearby piece of partially shattered boulder and took another sip while scanning the others present, coughing a bit at whatever flavour the thing had. Zaniah's tone seems to be different from before, now that his much younger companion has left the scene. It wasn't exactly anger or frustration like the bouncy girl with her Celebi, it felt like a mix of disappointment and resignation.

"First of all, I'm gonna make it damn straight, that I can't give you shit for doing this. You. Get. Nothing. Nothing from me that is, because I've got nothing to give you, even though by your logic me and my coworkers should probably be ruling over the multiverse by now because we're in charge of making sure it doesn't fucking implode on itself."

"Second of all, I'm actually more like you guys than the little Kahuna, I'm not from this world either, I don't know what's out there beyond these islands because it's a fucking one way ticket to becoming a dhelmise's arm to go out there alone. There could be something out there, but I'm not going to give you any guarantees in case it doesn't happen and one of you decides to attempt psycho cutting me in half for 'lying' or something."
He paused for a moment before sighing again.

"—I suppose I should explain what that meant. My world is a place where dimensional shenaniganary happens a lot more than your average universe, that's why there's an International Police division dedicated to that. Months ago, I got summoned here much like you guys, with some others, but unfortunately, that little Kahuna is a total amateur at this business — Not that I blame her, she barely just turned twelve when it happened, and let's just say her eye for strong trainers isn't exactly great. I won't say her picks are incompetent, worthy of a dozen gym badges or so, they managed to suceed in one fight, on Melemele. But soon after..."

Zaniah pulled out some sort of device, similar to some models of Rotom phones but without a Pokemon inhabiting it. He clicked around for a few seconds before an image was projected out. It was a picture that seemed completely monochromatic if not for the pink storm in the distant background of a photo, but the mid and foreground were a confusing mess of nothing but black shapes, almost seeming like silouettes. "If you wanna wait for the region to stablize, maybe your grandkids could get those things you were asking for, if we're lucky." Zaniah enlarged the photo again, some of the black shapes seem to be the outlines of buildings if you squint really hard. "Hau'oli City, everything was scorched to a pitch black, there were items that perfectly retained their shape, but the moment you touch it they turn into a pile of charred dust. From the surface of the ground to six-feet into the dirt. Before it was quelled, Tapu Koko's thunderstormed reigned above for years and scorched the earth into near nothingness."

"They had an argument about whether this place was worth saving or not, even starting flinging Pokemon battles at each other to challenge their 'ideals', people got hurt, and Alaula had to get Lunala to stop them and throw them all back into the wormhole. Because being a strong trainer and emotional maturity always comes hand in hand."
He remarked rather sarcastically. "So I've heard it all already, in fact I'm relieved that none of you got physical about this yet. I wasn't interested in moral arguements though, I stayed here because I needed to survey something else."

Swiping away from the photos, Zaniah pulled up some sort of chart that would seem rather confusing to the layman, but it looked like a map of stars in a void. "This is a map that my world and the Megalopolis made of the worlds that we are capable of surveying." If one can assume one light dot in the void is one entire world, there seems to be dozens, or even hundreds of them. "As you can see, your worlds are but a fraction of them. Some worlds differ greatly, such as entire worlds where the concept of Mega Evolutions has never existed, but nearly all of them contains similar legendary Pokemon, including those that can traverse dimensions such as Ultra Beasts, or even Pokemon of a higher caliber like Lunala."

The diagram of the worlds dotting a void like stars contiuned to faintly glow, for the first time Zaniah actually scoffed at something one of the trainers said. "I didn't want the little Kahuna present for this, she'd offer up her own life to Lunala if she were to know."

"Ten, twenty years? That's laughable. Maybe you people haven't gone to schools other than trainer school, but I hope you at least understand how the move rollout works. If this thing infects another world, it'll only take half the time to destroy it, and when it takes over two worlds, it will spread into four, then eight, then sixteen, with the time required being cut to a fraction each cycle as well. For instance, if powerful Pokemon from multiple worlds invade a single place at once, it would virtually fall instantly. You all did well with the Guzzlords, but worlds that become infected later may need to face down encounters tenfold in difficulty, needing to defend a world from multiple of Pokemon like Lunala, or even Giratina is a distinct possibility."

"In the best case scenerio, depending on how many corrupted Pokemon makes contract, it'll take a little over 3 years for the 549 worlds on record to be infect..."

"...And in the worse case, about six months."

Zaniah looked strangely calm or even apathetic for the situation. He's had his panick attacks when he first came to a conclusion like this, but the non-stop days of ldoing research and correspondence on a secluded dimensional altar while trying to contain any Pokemon that was trying to breach the fabric of reality wears a man's emotions down quickly. A few more diagrams that seems to have seperated different worlds into categories and tiers were swiped by.

"I been on this altar almost every waking hour, it's a place of space-time distortion and a place where I can communicate with other worlds. My home world, as well as any other worlds where research on interdimensional incidents have advanced far enough, have been trying to set up prelimiary measures through recon squads and the likes. However, progress has been less than ideal these past months, both the speed and precision of opening wormholes will suffer if done en mass, even more so without the aid of legendary Pokemon; the spread of public panic has been a concern; and of course, many worlds' organizations, including Pokemon Leagues which haven't had experiences with these incidents have been treating the warnings with disbelief or even hostility, that's why we ultimately decided to attempt to deal with it from the source. There is a basic priority system set up based on how close these worlds are to this one, Point Zero. Those worlds that are closer and more at risk will be prioirtized in setting up defensive measures, while the worlds less at immediete risk will be going on the offensive."

Zaniah closed the projection and retracted the device into his pocket.

"Unfortunately, summoning people from places further away comes with the unfortuante side effect of them not being privy to the situation." The lilac-haired man strechted a bit and yawned, he seemed rather exahusted. "I did my best to fix that, but you can lead a Ponyta to water but not force it to drink."

"And I don't care if you're a thief, or got into the seat of champion through insider trading or an extortion ring or whatever— It actually happens more than you would expect, especially Unova, honestly do not know what is up with that place. Anyways, bottom line is that I don't care, that's not my job to deal with, my job is to prevent dimensions from imploding, by any means neccessary. If you think what I've done is unfair to you-"
Zaniah pointed towards the direction that Lunala headed towards, on top of the altar beside the wormhole. "-Just step away and to got Lunala, it'll bring you home. Go take a bath and forget this ever happened."

"...But if your world is still intact a few years in the future, all I ask of you is to look up at the sky and say thank you to the people who did risk their lives for it."

Fabian stilled momentarily, pondering all the new information: the situation was grim, and only grew more dire with each moment of inaction. There was so much to consider, so much that could be extrapolated—if legendary pokémon could be affected—had already been affected—then did the Maelstrom evolve with each new legendary under its belt? Were the legendaries simple carriers of the disaster or would they cause it to spread in new and unpredictable ways? The infection of seafaring legendaries had caused it to spread rapidly, but did this mean the seawater itself carried the ‘virus’? If that were the case would a nature legendary cause plant life to transmit the virus? What about stronger dimension-faring legendaries? Would there ever be a point at which simply being in the same dimension as the virus was enough to contract it? Dare he even imagine what would happen if it got hold of Dialga? But amongst all these questions, one stood out to Fabian… did that guy really have to insult their education? You throw out some prospective numbers to give people a scope of the situation and a guy takes the chance to call you uneducated. Tsk, the nerve of some people!

“Do you have a concrete idea of how the maelstrom affects pokémon? As much as I’d like to help you, if my pokémon become infected once I’m within x-radius of the maelstrom then…” The Paldean left that part unsaid; instead, he heaved a sigh and began to pace. “How do we know our pokémon aren’t already infected or carrying some small portion of the maelstrom? That girl’s Aggron came into direct contact with those Guzzlords several times, is her Aggron at risk of going AWOL?”

Fabian paused to point at Miiya and gauge her reaction, whether or not her Aggron was doomed to become part of the problem though, he still had other, even more important questions that needed to be asked. “And even if we disregard all that, how do you propose we stop this maelstrom? What do you want us to do? Fight the storm? We need some kind of actionable plan…Or we need to start figuring it out.”

[Empty]

Miiya's mental gears grinded harshly. Moments passed her gaze flickering around. She filed the information Zaniah was dumping on their rag-tag group of misfits and powerful prospective allies. The information blazed through her mind like a forest fire. Cleansing this issue was going to be a long and daunting process. However, there was something of an issue the more she thought on this. Provided that they decided to stay, which she was going to, they would need to decide who would be the leader in a group of highly confident and extremely powerful people. Of course that brings up a whole different torrent filled with problems. They needed organized and concentrated strikes, if anything the more reinforced they stood as a unit the better everything would pan out.

When Fabian started saying things about her Aggron Aegis, and pointed an accusatory finger at her she couldnt control what tumbled from her mouth. "Didn't your mother ever tell you pointing is rude. Aegis hardly has a scratch let alone showing any of that shadowy aura the Guzzlords were exhibiting." Her words holding a threatening ice laced venomous edge. She leveled a even colder glare at Fabian for his actions before letting herself calm. "Last thing you should worry about is my Pokémon. You should worry considering from your display of 'skills' if they could call them that was hardly anything of note. Not even a single attack came from you."

Raising her voice out of the icy venom she had been using somthing calmer attempting to reel herself in. "Okay, given the information we have right now. I am staying. I can't allow this to continue forward knowing the damage can be stopped here before it gets worse regardless. There is a few things we have to address first. We need to determine who is staying. After that, we need to figure out who will be in charge of what tasks: tactics, scavenging, item management, and scouting. We can't go around blindly on our own without direction, basically we need to take off the gloves. It makes me sick that it has to be done but we can't pull our punches. Our Pokémon will be fighting for survival each time we send them to fight here. Kalos' great war is small in comparison but our Pokémon partners will have to be acting tools of war." Taking a deep breath she steadied herself from letting her emotional state drive her. This however didnt stop her right hand from grazing over her ball belt her finger gently tracing the lines of each Pokeball lining her waist. Her gaze shifting to her Nidoqueen who was looking out at the horizon. "I can accept that, anyone who cannot should leave right now." Her eyes bore a heavy glare at Fabian.

Raol the Incineroar
Richard met the harsh rejection with an indifferent smile. He had shown his stance of profiteering from the request for help. They could put a cold front at the moment, but it was difficult to say with the future. Three years of harvest was merely the starting point for negotiation. If he could settle just half a year of harvest from every region, that would be enough to ensure Unova's safety against future invasion for at least three generations.

Still, the dimension plague was a concerning topic. He had no plan to leave from the beginning. Enemies growing where he couldn't see were the most dangerous.

"Hey, I'm not leaving, but send my little guy home later." He thought about Clark, his mother's Clefable. He was strong, but he was long raised for single battles. His penchant for using Metronome was unreliable, too. Besides, contacting his homeland was crucial. The pollution here was something the next International Summit should discuss.

And his request for compensation, of course. The Summit's support would make for a literal world's difference in negotiation.

"Hm?" When Fabian and Miiya bickered, Voilanc came out of his pokeball and let out a guttural growl. Still not satisfied with the fight earlier? Richard rolled his eyes. "Don't fly to that black cloud."

He swore the Salamence was looking at him with disdain. Voilanc stared at Raol, who took a few steps toward it before hesitating. Richard waved it off. "Just go. I'll be bickering with these brats for a while."

Being a Champion wasn't all that fun. Yeah, looked fun on paper, but there were times he got stuck in stuffy meetings while his Pokemon would go out and play like now. He watched with envy as Raol leapt onto Voilanc and the Incineroar-Salamence pair flew off to the distance. That looked more fun than being stuck here. Richard sighed and turned to the group.

"Girl, you talk a lot for someone that just arrives here. Do we even need scavenging? Scouting should be on rotation. Love flying, but if you assign me a 12 hour daily shift for it, count my ass out of that. And tactics." Richard pressed his temple with an exasperated look. "We don't know each other, girl. Us fighting together is one thing, but having one guy telling me what to do is shit. Decide that later."

He turned to Zaniah. "That Fabian guy's question right, though. What's next from here? If you tell us it's going to be an attrition war, that's no better than slowly dying here."

Avery Kingwood: Master Thief
"Wait but if the hat is red and white in your world that has huge implications for the timeline of-" Avery broke off from her wide eyed conversation with Eric as the main conversation pulled her focus back again.

"Eh, I hate to agree with Free Trade Agreement over there but we probably do need to focus on the big picture for now and leave the duty roster for later. We'll be travelling together for a while by the sounds of it so there'll be time to hash that stuff out later. We could start a group chat or something, that'd be fun! But for right now lets lock in who's staying and what our actual plan is. I'm in, obviously, not gonna be anything to steal if the whole multiverse goes belly up and this seems like its gonna be totally badass anyways," Avery heaved a sigh all of sudden and when she resumed talking her voice sounded slightly jaded. "I'll probably have to send one of my guys back as well. The suits who run things back home won't have bothered to prepare for anything even if they got your message and believed it. It if doesn't immediately bump their quarterly profits then it basically doesn't exist to them."

Avery withdrew another a previously undisplayed pokeball from her pouch and tapped it. In a burst of light a rotom was revealed, the neon orange ghost slowly rotating in place with a curious expression.

"Hey Asimov, yeah we're in another world, it's a whole thing," Avery said cheerfully. "That's kind of besides the point though cause I need you to head home,"

"ROTOM!" said the ghost type, frowning and looking rather put out. Avery winced.

"No I know it sucks, but I need someone to raise the alarm back home. There's a whole reality collapsing crisis thing going on here that people will need to know about so I'll need you to do your hacker thing and disclose it on the web, make sure the right people understand how serious it is,"

"Rooo," said Asimov, narrowing its eyes, but after a moment's thought it bobbled in place, seemingly signalling reluctant assent.

"Thanks buddy," Avery said, looking relieved. "You probably wouldn't like it here anyway, I think the wifi is pretty well kaput everywhere,"

"Rotom!" said Asimov, looking properly alarmed for the first time in the conversation about a world ending catastrophe.

Avery rolled her eyes. "You nerd," she said fondly, rubbing the ghost on its forehead. "I'll put together an info packet and give it to you before its time to go. In the mean time you might as well stay out and check the place out so you can say you've seen it right?"

Asimov wiggled away from Avery's patting and beeped its agreement, hovering over to peer curiously at Zaniah's interdimensional map, which seemed to attract its interest.

Yggdrasil Executive
Darius Cinead
Surtr, Guardian of Muspelheim
A whole new world...

Darius listened to Miiya with some level of intrigue, many of her suggestions having already danced across his thoughts. The potential of acquiring empowered legendaries had already crossed his mind several times since arriving here, the mere thought of grasping power for himself a tantalizing opportunity that he couldn't just ignore. Yet, despite the potential opportunity of acquiring that power being present, Darius was not a simple fool to think that it would be an easy task to accomplish, especially without the resources that Yggdrassil afforded him.
Presently the odds were simply stacked against him; his knowledge on this dying realm being limited to what Zaniah and Aluala had decided to reveal. Then there were those here that would attempt to stop him; interlopers whose only real talent was to stick their nose where it didn't belong.

Speak of the devil~

"Oh.? A walk in the park you say..." replied Darius, glancing towards Eric as he spoke up; his expression hinting towards an iota of legitimate surprise. "Do you really think a miracle will occur once more?" he questioned, curious to how far the mans delusion really extended whilst also referencing their last skirmish against one another. Darius hand't yet forgotten what he had discovered during a review of the footage, the one in a million miracle that the hero had managed to manifest. An anomaly that wouldn't occur once again. "Eric Wolfe" spat Darius, "Are you so hell bent on trying to beat me, that you would endanger your self and your own pokemon... again?" Darius took a step forward, approaching the wannabe hero; ignoring any glances or stares he may have recieved from the others and solely focusing on the prey that stood before him. "That sounds... almost.." he continued to approach the man, intentionally invading his personal space as he leaned in towards him, close enough that his face was inches away from Eric's left ear. "...almost villanous..." he whispered, feigning a smile before taking a step back and turning away. "I wasn't aware... heroes willingly put their closest allies in danger... to satisfy their own ego..." he paused, holding both hands outward as he stared skyward, a smile present across his face as eyes studied the ominous sky above. "Even I wouldn't dare force my own pokemon to experience such pain... such sufferring..." he lowered his head, turning it ever so slightly as he side eyed his nemesis. "What are the chances your Lucario would survive that experience again?" he asked mockingly.

Seizing his antics, Darius would glance towards the only one he had deemed to be completely sane thus far; the sky trainer Richard. Whilst the others seemed ready to offer their aid without question... or at the very least for some potential reward with no guarantee, Richard at the very least was doing a sublime job at being the shrewd businessman; something Darius had to respect. A suppressed chuckle had escaped Darius as he listened to the demands.

Alas, Darius's impressed state would only last so long as the self proclaimed 'Master Thief' spoke up once more; the red hair admin subconsciously feeling several brain cells commit seppuku as he listened to her ramble once more. How in the hell did she manage to acquire a mythical like celebi in the first place....

".... and whatever you do steal here would have no value back in your own world... only you would know the importance of a different colored hat... the rest of your world would join me in thinking you a lunatic if you paraded artifacts they had no knowledge about, dismissing it as the ramblings of some woman gone insane" countered Darius, now fully turned towards Avery. "Though, perhaps you really are insane. Happy enough to so willingly devalue your own worth for the sake of strangers in a world that isn't even your own. Adventure? Glory? Untold riches?" Darius paused, raising a palm to his face. "Is it that crazy for us to ask our gracious host for payment?, To demand equal reward for the efforts expected from us?" Lowering his hand, a less than friendly gaze had now focused itself upon the Avery; a master thief indeed, considering how quickly she had managed to steal his patience. "You might think we are being selfish and unreasonable... but let me ask you this. How is this any different to what they are asking for?. Help from complete strangers to save a world they were too powerless to care for on their own... without even thinking about offering anything in return..... that sounds pretty darn selfish to me.... yet here you are... chastising us for reacting in similar manner, all while readily prostrating your services to this stranger... a tamed mutt ready to bark, beg and roll over for your new host" a sigh escaped his mouth, he was mentally fatigued with dealing with this ones lunacy.
"Whatever, I was a fool to even attempt to understand and comprehend the mindset of some prideless pup happy enough to wag their tail for some stranger. I don't need to see you roll over and beg either"

Beginning to walk away, it seemed Zaniah had been waiting for the opportune time to admit what Darius had already long suspected. These interdimensional pricks really did expect charity work. Though, given the information he had revealed, there was cause for Darius to perhaps stay here a little bit longer; though not for the sake of this god forsaken realm. Interdimensional travel? 549 Worlds? If Darius could acquire that map and the means of controlling travel through the dimensions, then that would be payment enough for saving this dying world.

Deciding that it was worth staying a bit longer, the red haired man would begin to walk away from the group; right hand reaching into his pocket as he pulled out a pack of cigarettes. He had no interest in playing nice with the others, nor did he have any interest in their gung-ho plan to save this world. In fact, he had no interest in saving this world. There was simply something he needed to attain.

Observing the red haired man she had shook hands with approach the one named Eric she tried to recall what the blue haired guy called him. 'Sur- something... Sur... Surtr? Perhaps that's right.' Her thoughts had picked up again as she kept her attention on the red head. Her attention followed him, she purposely ignored Richard. She had a good idea who she wants to work with.

She watched his movements and listened to his words carefully. It was clear he didn't like the situation, and to be fair Miiya didn't like it herself. He seemed down to earth about this and it is natural to expect some form of payment. Sure saving this world and subsequently their own in the process is a good argument. It doesn't change that throwing us at it without compensation is rather illogical. She's willing to protect her home with everything she has, she failed before when she lost her family. She... she wasn't exactly sure if she could handle losing the new home she was building for herself. If it was painful enough for her not to want to think about it then she knew it would leave her broken.

Her gaze flicked down for a few moments, her face betraying a deep pain but it was gone in flash as she hardened her features and moved to follow Darius as he separated himself and took out a pack of cigarettes. "Surtr, right?" Miiya was careful to level her voice to make I auditable for him as she caught up and matched his pace. "I don't really know if that is your name or not." She glaced at her Nidoqueen that was now walking about taking in the battlefield below. It seemed like the Pokémon was taking everything in. Something Miiya herself would need to do instead of closing herself up again.

Realigning her self and looking up at the man who clearly had a bad habit, one her grandfather shared, filled her with a slight hint of comfort even his presence was completely different. "Need a light?" She reached in her pocket and pulled out a beat up old metal flip cap zippy. A flick of her wrist and the top opened and a small flame flickered to life.

She lowered her voice in an attempt to keep what she said next between them regardless if the taller man accepted her offered light or not. "You have a cool head, and are clearly far more in control of yourself than I am." Her face scrunched slightly in aggravation. "I... I think you are better leader material than I am. I can't seem to direct my intentions correctly." Her hand flicked the lighter closed now if the man used it or not. She hadn't been able to see as she replaced it from whence it came, her head turned down finding the ground very interesting.

"I'll not bore you with all the details. I should stick with you. I can't bring myself to trust my own decisions if I end up getting emotional. As you probably saw when I snapped at the accusation a moment ago." Losing a fair bit of momentum and taking a breath, she continued internally berating herself for this. She was making herself look weak and she hated it, but she did mean it. She was going to be far too emotional for all this. "You can say no, if you think I'd be too much trouble. I just don't think the others would be as good of a choice as you are."

Fabian's eyes widened in Miiya’s direction, and he regarded her anew, blinking slowly over several seconds as if he found the girl’s response inane and utterly nonsensical. She was…angry? That he’d asked if her pokémon were at risk via contact with the unknown dimensional virus??? Baffling.

Anyway, if she couldn’t see the sense in confirming whether her pokémon were at risk, then... who was he to do so? Fabian shook his head and promptly checked out of the discussion.

He’d said his piece, and it looked like the others would be arguing about compensation for a bit longer. He’d have to pass on that. He was in no position to demand benefits on a regional scale or anything like that, and besides, the person they were negotiating with wasn’t even from this world anyway. Were any concessions he agreed to even binding?

Guess that was a question for the others to figure out. Either way, if they were going to be here a while, then they’d needed a better grasp of the surroundings. Alola was an island chain, right? Which island were they on (The Kahuna girl had said something about Poni Island, right?), and more importantly, how did they get off? From what had already been said, any trainers who went into the sea never came back, and flying was, well—Fabian eyed the Maelstrom—risky. On top of that, they were also supposed to attract Ultra beasts and the like because they were dimension hoppers, right? Hmm, they’d have to do something about that too…

Lunala nudged the Pokemon that the trainers who released them a bit with its cresent-shaped wing, and turned back into the glimmering portal behind it, back to where the Pokemon came from. Zaniah watched the moon-shaped cruiser leave and sighed quietly as he disconcerted some of the conversations that were going on. He took a final sip from the spicy boiled berry water and stood up, then clapped his hands a few times as if to get the attention of the others.

"Alright alright,
settle down now children..." He said rather tiredly. "If we're done insulting each other now, I'm going to let you know about everything I currently ascertained in my...approximately 18 weeks here." His tone was a bit sarcastic in the beginning but grew more serious as he seemed to be looking at some sort of notes taken down on his terminal.

"First, there's little reason to believe that whatever this corrupting force is spreads physically. I myself have been battling corrupted Pokemon here for the past 4 months, and none of my Pokemon has shown symptoms of corruption. According to accounts of the locals, there're trainers and Pokemon who have been fighting them for years, since the disaster started, and have yet to be corrupted at all." As if trying to prove his words, a round, fluffy texture Pokemon burst out in a stream of light from its ball.

"El-" The Eldegoss hummed rather spiritedly.

Zaniah nodded and petted the fluffy body of the cotton Pokemon and continued. "A current working theory is that it could spread through more mental or psychological means, which could explain why the spread sped up exponentially once it began to affect legendary Pokemon with manipulation and telekinetic abilities. And that, seems to also determine how it can be reverted." Zaniah displayed the photo of the scorched Melemele Island landscape again. "For instance, Alola's legendary guardians have always shared a strong bond with the humans of the region, which might be the reason why the corruption's hold on them wasn't as powerful. The trainers who came before you were not as strong, but managed to calm one of them by luring the deity to the ruins that were formerly its shrine, the Ruins of Conflict."

"So it appears that with strong enough outside influence and the right catalysis, it is possible to help legendary Pokemon shake off its influence, and their power would become instrumental to restoring the rest of the region and its Pokemon."

Zaniah closed the terminal and presentation again, then shrugged as if he's given up actually persuading anyone or being optimistic. "Of course, every region and every legendary Pokemon have their own characteristics, so a new plan would need to be made specifically for each situation. That's the principle at least, if you don't think it'll work-" He gestured over at the portal where Lunala was just popping back in after delivering the Pokemon who were told to return back to their homes. "If you're just interested in compensation, I can't promise you anything, but I do know a few things that could be interesting. You decide whether to accept it or call be a fruad when you see it." The man yawned and stretched, returning his Pokemon to their respective balls, and then turned around.

"Follow me if you're up for this, if you got any more questions, we can handle it on the way."

The shores of Poni Island were gently battered by the rolling waves, the sky was gloomy, and dark clouds hovered in the distance, as well as the pink energy swirl, but occasionally a few beams of light muscled through the thick overcast and landed on the ocean surface, creating some glittering reflections. Zaniah gazed out at the ocean, towards the direction of the pink energy swirl, and then released his Naganadel from its ball.

"Alright, seems calm right now. You all have a Pokemon that can fly, surf, right?" He said quite nonchalantly before stepping forward and climbing on top of the large purple dragon. "We're going towards the direction of that thing, don't go directly into it though, though not sure if it's even possible to go directly in." He added, pointing towards the pink swirl in the sky. "...As for the promised 'interesting' thing...It's on the shore of Akala Island." Zaniah quickly showed a map projection of the region, with a peculiar area near one of the islands marked. "I saw it in the distance once, didn't want to get too close, but that's the Aether Foundation's artificial island...or whatever's left of it, at least. As far as anyone knows, it's been untouched since it crashed, so finders keepers with whatever is in there I guess."

"...And don't worry about it too much, the waters have been much calmer since Tapu Koko's corruption has been dealt with, as long as we avoid anything too turbulent, it shouldn't be an issue for those skilled as you all are."

Chorus the Corviknight
Voilanc the Salamence
Raol the Incineroar

Richard handed the mail to Clark the Cleffable with a solemn look.

"Don't lose it, you hear? No Metronome until you are out of the portal."

Clark gave a serious salute, but Richard had his worries. His voice harshened. "No Metronome. None." Clark knew no time or space to use Metronome. Arceus forbid he used it in the middle of a space tunnel and lost forever in-between. Clark pounded his chest and coughed. Totally not reassuring. Still, nothing else to do but pray. Richard watched as Clark took waltz steps toward Lunala and disappeared. Then, he turned to the rest of a human with a frown.

No one here's reliable except Zaniah. Even that cold calculating guy had a little more psychotic tendency underneath. He reminded Richard of the Plasma Elders. Long-winded bastards. At least they gave him time to set up an ambush each time with their speeches. The rest... the rest reminded him of himself at the start of the war. Some parts of him cursed them for staying. Some parts of him knew it was inevitable. They were part of the reason why he stayed, but Richard would never admit that.

With the ocean ahead, Richard took out a silver whistle and blew. A wild growl answered the sharp call. From inland, Voilanc flew fast, announcing his presence with a gale that carried his majesty. Between his wings, a red and black figure stood proud, roaring to beat the wind's call, competed by the dragon's roar.

"Show-off!" Richard chuckled as they landed. He loved those guys. Raol snorted and shifted back, making room for Richard upfront. The Sky Trainer climbed on and released Chorus once again. The Corviknight chirped, displeased having been excluded from the roaring contest. Voilanc snorted.

Richard turned to the rest. "Three people, climb on. The rest find your own ride."
