I am confusion
It's finally the big day...

Many Pokemon are arriving at Star Shard. Maybe they are Newcomers looking for opportunities, or maybe they have mysteriously stumbled into town. Townies are waking up, shops are opening and a new day is starting. Near the shop, a Kecleon is patiently waiting for newcomers so he can give his tour.

In the middle of the town, there is a large News Board, detailing some of the latest information in town.Day 1 board.png

You could have a tour, or maybe you prefer to explore the surroundings? How about getting a job if you need some money?

It's currently 6:00AM. By midnight, you should have a place to sleep, or you'll LOSE 10% of your EXP (you won't de-level though)

Elliot the Sneasel
Star Shard Town, 6:00AM

It had been a couple of days since he began traveling. His legs were sore, he had no more food and there was an itch at the back of his ear that didn't want to go away. But alas, Elliot finally arrived at Star Shard town, and early in the morning as well meaning he had the entire day for himself.

While he wanted to visit the shops, maybe see if there are any rare gems he could buy or "borrow", the first thing that drew his attention was the News Board. He took a look through the jobs section and thought that maybe, if he gets a lot of money, he'll be able to buy all the gems for his collection! No need to steal them or anything! But the part that talked about the house in the woods really stuck in his head... what if there are gems there, just waiting to be collected?

He brushed off these thoughts for a moment, and headed towards the Star Mart. He read about the tour, and some introduction to the town wouldn't be a bad idea. The thought about the house in the woods though kept coming back... he was definitely taking a look there later.

Mari
Star Shard Town, 6:00 AM - 6:04 AM

When Mari first woke up, she figured she must have wrecked or something considering the last thing she remembered was sailing through some particularly nasty waters. It wasn’t exactly how she’d seen her journey going, but she was alive and, aside from a slight headache, perfectly healthy. She had resolved to explore whatever land she happened to find first, so it’s not like her plans were majorly derailed or anything. Overall, the situation was unusual, but not bad, and that was something she could gladly work with.

After a moment to get her bearings, Mari took stock of her surroundings. The sun was low but bright in the east and the few clouds were wispy and weak. It seemed like it was going to be a beautiful day once the sun had a chance to warm the earth. Well, if she had to wake up after wrecking with no idea where she was, at least the weather was nice. She also seemed to be in a flat, grassy field. There were a few trees off in the distance, eventually thickening into an impressive forest, and, much to her surprise, a sizable town within reasonable walking distance. It was a good place to start, if she had to start somewhere. With a destination in mind, Mari pushed herself to her feet, her hind legs straightening out first and then the rest of her body shifting back to allow her front legs to gather purchase under her.

Wait.

That wasn't right, was it? Looking down at her front legs, Mari noted the distinct cloven hooves and short blue fur of a mareep. Apparently that was right. Still, she got the unsettling feeling that it wasn't. Wasn't she supposed to be bipedal? Clearly she was a mareep now, which implied she'd always been a mareep, but somehow that felt wrong. Not one to ignore a gut feeling, but also not one to make a big deal out of a decent situation, she came to several conclusions. First, she wasn't always a mareep, but she was one now. Second, she had feelings and impressions of what she used to be like and what had led her here, but couldn't remember anything specific. Third, while the situation was weird, it wasn't inherently bad. While taking stock of herself, she could also make out a blue ribbon tied around her neck. There was what looked like a yellow and red marble set in the middle of it, but from the angle she couldn't really make it out. She had wanted new experiences, an adventure. If this wasn't that, she didn't know what was.

Right, no need to make a big fuss out of a little strangeness. Starting forward, Mari set herself on the road into town. Even if she accepted her new lot in life she still needed some information on where exactly she was. The walk into town was shorter than she thought it'd be, but maybe it only looked farther because she was much shorter than she was used to. From the entrance, the town looked rather nice, homey and well taken care of in a way that spoke of a good and caring community. If she needed to find a place to stay, she wouldn't mind it being here.

As she approached the entrance to the town, she noticed the bright sign announcing the name of the town, Star Shard, as well as the bulletin board with what looked like various jobs as well as a couple announcements tacked neatly to it. Reading carefully over the bulletins, Mari felt the beginnings of a plan come together. A tour of the town sounded like a splendid idea. She’d be able to figure out where everything was and ask questions to someone who presumably knew what was going on. There also seemed to be plenty of ways to make money around here, which could be useful later on, if she decided to stay. The variety also gave her a chance to find something she really wanted to do. She’d hate getting stuck with only one way to support herself, and if there had only been one or two types of jobs available, that probably would have been a deal breaker right there.

There were some concerning notes, as well as a few things she had no context for. Mari wasn't really sure what an adventure team was supposed to be, though it sounded like it could be fun, and the warning about suspicious activity could mean trouble down the road. Still, it all seemed very exciting, and the unknown elements gave her something to investigate or ask about once she had a better idea of what was going on. The thing that really caught her eye though, and cemented her first course of action once she took the tour, was the job bulletin about the anonymous pokemon and the pretty wing. Something about the vagueness of it set alarm bells off in her head. Every other bulletin had some location or affiliation attached to it. How was anyone even supposed to find a "house near the forest?" Maybe it was something people around here just knew about, but it still seemed like a bad excuse to Mari. All the more reason to check it out honestly. A little mystery was always fun and if the situation turned south at least that would make things exciting.

Settled, Mari finally entered town, making her way towards the Star Mart where the tour was meant to be held. It took her a minute to find it, but it was pretty obvious once she could see it. Standing outside, likely also waiting for a tour, was a sneasel. He looked pretty tired, like he'd been walking for a while, but friendly enough.

"Hello!" she greeted as she approached. "Are you new in town too?"

The moment felt ethereal. Despite feeling the snow under her feet, which after enough steps became grass and then a dirt road, Erucca's mind refused to believe that this was real. Her rational side tried to focus on the positive: despite seemingly like it would be a challenge, she had managed to become accustomed to walking on four legs quite quickly. But then her neurotic side pointed out that could mean she was losing touch with her human self.

Erucca helplessly believed it. She could remember her last moments as a human fairly clearly: being trapped in that cave during that blizzard, and that fox Pokemon... But she really wasn't able to recall anything beyond that. Where was the cave? Why was she there? She knew she used to be a Pokemon trainer, but what were her Pokemon? Despite having no clear concept of their identity her heart ached at the thought, and she prayed they were safe.

The previously-human white fox Pokemon's ears perked up to the sound of some chattering nearby. Her blue eyes lifted from the ground to take note that she had managed to make her way to the town she saw from the icy peaks where she awoke. There were a few Pokemon walking about and conversing with each other on their ways, which normally would have shocked her, but her rude awakening moments ago left her fairly numb to anything.

There were a few Pokemon standing a little ways before her in front of what looked to be a bulletin board. She made her way over besides them, less so from curiosity and more so because she felt unsure of any other thing to do. She scanned the writing on the board and realized that despite now being a Pokemon she was still able to understand the words. Erucca turned to look towards one of the others around her, a Mareep, when she heard them speak. Even though she saw Pokemon talking among themselves before it was only now when she realized she could understand what they (or at least this one) was saying.

"N... new... to town?" she vocalized, believing the next logical step to be seeing if they can understand her. When she heard her own words they didn't sound like just some variation of a Pokemon's name, which was comforting. "I'm... new in town too..." She decided to continue to speak, despite the question not being directed to her.

Reed floated in awe as he approached Star Shard. His parents sent him here once they finally decided that Reed was old enough to fend for himself. A debatable decision by others, but Reed and his parents were excited to start a new chapter in Reed's life. He levitated there a few inches off the ground. He held his pyukumuku doll and sketchbook in his arms, lugging them around as he went. Reed could barely contain his excitement as he arrived at Star Shard.

Reed wandered aimlessly for several minutes as his senses were overloaded. There were so many places he could go, where was he supposed to go first? He was beginning to wish he had his mom's help, but now he was independent, and he must navigate the town on his own. Just as quickly as he became teary-eyed from fear, he corrected himself and made a brave face. He puffed up his chest to ensure that he was no longer a boy and that he had everything under control. Eventually, he discovered a bulletin board in the middle of town.

As he approached it, he noticed that a few other Pokemon were reading it. He wasn't a fast reader, so he stood there for a few minutes slowly reading out loud what it said. It had so many cool things written on it! There was going to be a tourney with prize money, jobs, and coolest of all, "suspicious individuals." Reed fantasized about one day helping in bringing a terrible criminal to jail just like in the stories he heard. Also, the jobs seemed like fun, especially the one involving Starly Farms. Mostly because he could get berries with his pay, he loved food.

More importantly, Reed read that newcomers should come to the Star Mart to get a tour of Star Shard. So, after asking around, Reed found where the Star Mart was and arrived to see a number of other Pokemon waiting outside. They must be other newcomers, he thought. Just then, he saw the sneasel, which was a Pokemon he had never seen before. So, understandably, he excitedly flew over to the sneasel, ignoring that he was rudely interrupting their conversation with the mareep, and gasped in amazement.

"Wow! What Pokemon are you? I've never seen one like you before. Are you a newcomer, too? What's your name? Are you strong? Ooh! Is that a mareep? And what are you? You look like a vulpix, but you're different. You're pretty!" He spoke a million miles per second and was barely understandable.

Chirin the Zorua
- Star Shard Town -

She'd been on the trail for a while now, and she was finally at her destination. Her tiny feet padded at the ground as she trotted her way towards the town she'd set her eyes on to live there. This, she thought to herself, would be completely different than living a semi-wild lifestyle. Luckily she had the personality to fit in well, rather than end up being a delinquent on the streets. No, she didn't plan that at all. Instead, she ended up watching the grass brush alongside the wind as she scurried by. Then, she saw it in the corner of her eye. She her head to face the Town that stood in the distance and looked on in awe. Wow- it was the town! A town! She'd barely ever seen one in the flesh before, given she lived in the wild with her parents. For a moment she held her position as she simply stared at the Star Shard Town, encapsulated by its appearance. Thoughts of what she'd do there and how she'd do it filled her mind. Potential friends, potential rivalries! Well, she didn't want that last part to end up happening, but she knew that she'd probably make friends. After a short while of staring, the Zorua hastily padded down the dirt road to reach her destination.

Before long, she was wandering in the town, her two eyes wide with awe. It was hard not to let her jaw hang open in wonder as her head turned to face all the different activities of the place. You could work jobs, people were going about their days, things were happening.. and while that was fine and dandy, she hadn't a clue where to go or what to do. It was rather intimidating, now that Chirin thought about it. A small part of her contemplated retreating back into the forest; something she knew how to live in. She shook off her concerns however. No, we'll be staying here. It may be hard to settle down, but it isn't impossible. The Pokémon roaming around the town were examples of that.

Luckily for Chirin, when she made a sharp turn she saw a group of Pokémon staring at a board. Given their appearance, a small hunch of hers told her that they were all newbies, much like herself. She swallowed the nervousness in her throat, unsure wether or not she was nervous because there were other people, or nervous because she realised she didn't know what to do, other than read the big board everyone else was reading. Quietly, she trotted her way up. The group of Pokemon consisted of a Sneasel, Mareep, Alolan Vulpix and a Phantump. You had to know your species before you fought competitively.

Quietly, Chirin approached the board, not wanting to disturb or irritate any of the newcomers here. She looked up at the sheet of paper and began to read it to herself in her head. Immediately upon reading that there'd be a tournament, her eyes lit up. While she wanted to participate, a large part of her told her to simply establish herself first in the town-- or at least settle down enough to get a hold of her head. In which case, she read, she'd have to visit the Star Mart for a free tour. The Zorua gave herself a small nod in agreement to herself when she decided to do that. She then glanced around at the other Pokémon, simply curious to how they appeared.

Azure the Mudkip
Location - Star Shard Town (Azure's Home > Star Mart)
Time - 6:00 am - 6:05 am

Normally, Azure didn't wake this early up - usually, he'd get up around 7:30 for a small walk around town, and then go about his day until around 11, where he'd sleep in his cozy little home until the next day started again. Today, though, he'd heard that there was going to be a sudden wave of new visitors, and that meant new people to meet and befriend! Probably. They might be really, really mean, but Azure didn't mind finding out for himself. He knew that one of the Kecleon's would be holding a tour at Star Mart, so that's where Azure would go. All he really planned on doing was greeting himself to the newcomers and then leaving, but he was still fairly excited. The Mudkip slid out of bed, where he grabbed his Mystic Water off of his drawer and hung it around his neck. He dashed out the door, bounding off the steps to his home.

The Star Mart was a quick five minutes from his house if he ran, which he did, of course. He saw a slowly gathering group of people heading from the town's entrance to the shop, which currently seemed void of any Kecleon - looks like it'd take a little while until the tour started. He reached the front of the shop before glancing around to be confident there was no Kecleon there before he turned to face the small crowd, smiling softly. "Hi, how's your day been? Probably a little chaotic, I'd bet. I'm Azure, by the way - I figured I would go and introduce myself to all the newcomers before the tour started."

Azure glanced throughout the crowd, spotting a Sneasel, a Mareep, a not at all chatty and shy Alolan Vulpix, a very chatty and excited Phantump, and a Zorua. He'd be sure to ask them about their stories, but considering they were probably tired, overwhelmed, not interested, or a mix of all three, he decided against it for now.

Mass the Linoone
Yorozuya Massuguma - 6:07 AM

It was a particularly busy morning for Star Shard. It would explain all the bustling about of the Pokemon around town. The noise was pretty much typical of Star Shard-- just not at this hour.

Of course, this was just a normal morning for a certain family of Zigzagoons.

As a Pelipper from the mail service landed, mail held firmly within his beak, he was greeted with a homely, familiar sight; a big, Linoone-shaped sign and the well-maintained wooden storefront. Making his way past the parchment nailed to the side, he gave a quick tap on the small, Bronzong-shaped bell on the counter before unloading the mail into the slot marked for it.

With his job done, the Pelipper turned to leave. But before he could fly away, however, the sound of clumsy paws trotting up to the counter caught his attention.

Thump, thump, thump! Hop! The thumping noises were followed by a quick hop, a skidding stool, and finally, furry brown ears peeked over the counter. A tiny Zigzagoon peered over, her tiny paws braced on the wooden counter.

"H-H-Hello, mister!" The Zigzagoon yipped at him. "Welcome to Yo...Yoro...Yoroyuza!" The mispronunciation of the shop name drew a small chuckle out of the mailman, just in time for another, much larger figure to come in.

"Iggy! What'd I say about running off to the counter on your own?"

The Pelipper relaxed as the proprietor of the store, a rather large Linoone, finally came out, fur still ruffled from what seemed to be the last dredges of sleep. He easily picked up the smaller Zigzagoon, who squealed and yipped in one of his claws as he turned to face the Pelipper. The Pelipper briefly tipped his head to the Linoone.

"Morning, Mr. Mass."

"Morning," Mass sniffed, grinning. "Got any good mail for us today?"

"Just the usual," The Pelipper chuckled, briefly motioning to the Zigzagoon. "Little Iggy seems to be growing up fast. Are Goonie and Zigs in?"

"Still having breakfast last time I checked." Mass answered, lightly tightening his grip on the little Zigzagoon he was clutching. "I'd better not keep you. Gotta make sure Iggy doesn't try to get on your back when you fly out." He joked.

"Aye. Well, have a good morning, Mass."

As the mailman flew away, he picked up on the last hints of conversation between the Linoone and his younger counterpart and couldn't help but chuckle.

"No, no, no counter duty! I haven't even assigned jobs for the day yet!"

Inside the house, the whole family was already awake. As Mass came back in, Iggy tucked in one claw and the other holding a few small envelopes. His other two siblings looked up from their bowls of breakfast and yipped as they spotted the envelopes in his claws.

"Big Bro Mass!" Goonie was first to speak up. "Do we have new jobs?"

"Only a few," Mass responded, smiling as he let Iggy down from his claws. The toddler of a Zigzagoon wandered back over to her spot at the table, clambering up with clumsy paws.

This was how most of their mornings went; Mass would wake up the earliest and go over the jobs for the day and the mail they got, and when his siblings would wake up and have their breakfast, he'd give them whatever job suited them for the day.

"It's really busy out," Zigs sniffed. "I went out earlier to go water Mom's berry plants and the town square was going wild."

"There's a lot of newcomers coming in, or so they say," A deeper voice piped up as Mass watched his father lumber out from where their parents slept. The older Linoone chuckled. "At least, that's what I heard from town."

"It's Star Shard. News spreads fast." Mass chuckled. "If you guys are done with your breakfast, come over here and I'll tell you what you have to do for the day."

His smaller siblings clambered off their chairs, trotting over to him and sitting down, all in a line. Zigs gently nudged Iggy to sit down with her nose. Before he could start, he heard his mother stifle a laugh from where she moved to clean up the cleaned out bowls of his siblings.

"Growing up into a regular old businessman, Mass?"

Mass stifled an embarrassed smile and turned to his siblings. "Well, er...alright. Goonie, there's a family of Sandslash living a little ways near the farm that needs help filling in some holes they dug up since last time. Go over there and give 'em a hand."

Goonie mock-saluted his older brother. "You got it, Big Bro Mass!"

"Zigs, there's a Spoink living near the hotel that needs some groceries picked up for them. Here's their shopping list." Mass handed over the marked envelope to his younger sister, who gratefully accepted it.

"Oh, Zigs! We're running out of berries too, so if you could, could you also pick some up for us?" Their mother called out, receiving a quick nod in response. "Thanks!"

"As for Iggy..." Mass smiled a little awkwardly as he turned to their youngest. Truthfully, Iggy was really too young to be running jobs on her own. She was better off learning at home, but...

"You can tag along with Zigs." Experience was still a great teacher, and it wasn't as if Mass hadn't tagged along with his father on jobs before. The small Zigzagoon yipped and cheered, happily trotting over to where Zigs was and pawing at her.

"But what about you, Big Bro Mass?" Goonie brought up, ears flicking. "Where will you be?"

"Me?" Mass laughed as he tucked away the remaining jobs he saved for himself into a small pouch and hoisted it over his shoulder.

"I'm gonna go check out the ruckus in town, of course!"

Star Shard Town - Star Mart, 6:18 AM

Only a few steps in and Mass could already see just why the town was bustling. There were quite a few new faces gathered near the Star Mart, probably for the free tour advertised on the bulletin board. Mass counted at least five-- a Sneasel, a Mareep, a Phantump with a broken branch, a Zorua and an oddly colored Vulpix.

"The Kecleons sure are feeling generous," He thought to himself as he approached, seeing at least one familiar face. One of the towns folk had beaten him to introducing himself-- a laidback Mudkip named Azure. Nevertheless, figuring he had enough time before running his usual errands, Mass stood up on his hind legs to bring him to his full height.

"G'mornin'," He greeted the crowd with a jaunty wave and a friendly smile. "Hope you're liking the town so far."

Before Erucca could get a response from the Mareep, the trio was approached by a very enthusiastic Phantump. She found herself quietly listening to all his comments and questions to the other, though found chest tightening when he referred to her. He confirmed the suspicion she had when she first noticed her six tails, although he too didn't seem to know why her fur was white as snow. He seemed to be fond of it though, as he went on to call her pretty. She felt her cheeks heating up. Her memory might have been hazy but somehow she knew she wasn't complimented on her appearance often as a human.

... Should she tell him? Or anyone else? How would they react? With this situation being so bizarre already, Erucca decided to just keep quiet and try to keep some semblance of normality. The ideal plan right now seemed to be blending in among these other people- er... Pokemon, and just trying to find a safe place to stay and survive. Later on she would worry about returning to her old life.

"Th-thank you..." she responded to the ghost-type, clearing her throat. She eyed what he was holding: a sketchbook and a Pyukumuku doll, and wondered how old he was. Phantumps were rumored to be the spirits of children who got lost in the woods and died, but his demeanor really was that of a young child. Was he perhaps a human and turned into a Pokemon like her? Remembering what she could from before today, the situation did seem dire for her. Judging from his belongings though, if their fates indeed were the same, he had been here long enough to acclimate to his new life, or at least had done so fairly quickly. Part of her wanted to ask about his parents, concerned about how he would fare being all alone, but held her tongue in fear of causing an embarrassing moment for herself. Besides, she now found herself fretting about her own survival being all alone.

It seemed as if their spot was some sort of beacon, as more and more Pokemon were drawn to it. They were joined by a Zorua, and then a Mudkip and a Linoone. The latter two greeted them and the Mudkip even introduced himself, while the Zorua simply waited among them. Despite the polite atmosphere among all of them the Vulpix felt claustrophobic, trapped, and irrationally threatened. She found her stance becoming somewhat shaky and she slowly stumbled backwards until her tails touched the bulletin board, causing her to jump a bit. She gazed around at the other Pokemon simply conversing pleasantly but felt her vision blurring slightly and her head lightly spinning. It felt as if this was all some sort of fever dream, and how Erucca hoped that it was, one which she would soon wake from.

She tightly closed her eyes, and suddenly... everything became cooler. She felt cold pellets fall against her fur as the temperature dropped. Despite the physical contact they caused no pain, but rather their chill was welcome. She felt her head and body stabilizing as she let out a small sigh. She opened her pale blue eyes once again and noticed the ice raining down from the sky around them. Ironically, a curious look came onto her face as she wondered what could have suddenly caused this (welcome) change in weather.

Elliot the Sneasel
Star Shard Town, 6:18AM

"Wow, so many Pokemon!" Elliot thought to himself. The town was lively when he arrived, but now there was an entire crowd near the board, asking him all sorts of questions!

First, he was going to chat with the Mareep that just arrived, but then his eyes were drawn towards the curious little stone she was carrying. That... that was a Mega Stone! They were supposed to be super rare, and yet this Mareep just walks in carrying one like it's your everyday pebble! He wanted to ask her how she managed to get one of them, or if she was willing to trade it for his smokeball... but he was so perplexed by this sight that he decided against it, at least for now. Maybe he could "borrow" it later if he got the chance.

Just moments later, a white Vulpix approached them. She looked just like the ones his sister would get in trouble with back home... although this one seemed a lot friendlier and maybe even shy. He wondered if the Vulpix had a gem with her just like the Mareep.

Then the Phantump appeared. He was... energetic, yeah that's a nice way to describe it. Elliot understood him though. The thought of coming to live in a new town that you know nothing about can be both exciting and scary. I guess that if you are a ghost though, you have seen plenty of scary things, so you wouldn't feel scared about a simple move. Or maybe he was just oblivious to the things that could go wrong during a move like this. "Oh, hello there! I'm, uhm, Elliot, a Sneasel. Nice to meet you! What happened to your branch? did someone steal it?"

A Zorua approached not long after. She didn't seem odd in any way, with the exception of having triangular marks under her eyes. She seemed to be a very reserved compared to everyone else.

A Mudkip also showed up, claiming that he already lived here. His name was Azure, and he seemed quite friendly. "Hey, do you know any places that pay well? Where do you work?"

Finally, a very large Linoone appeared. Elliot hadn't seen that many Linoones before, and compared to the ones he had seen, this one had a lighter fur and was quite large. Elliot wondered if all Linoones outside his home were this big. He seemed nice though, and proceeded to just welcome the newcomers into town.

Overall, this had been a fairly nice experience. Nothing too out of the usual happened and the town seemed very welcoming. Elliot gestured towards the others to follow him to the shop so they can continue the chat, and began moving towards the place where the tour would be held, he noticed that it began to snow, and even hail. Apparently, the Vulpix had been spooked by something and accidentally triggered hail. It didn't hurt him as Elliot is an Ice type, but he wondered about how the others would fare. The hailing shouldn't last for more than a few minutes though.

Caligo The Scyther

Being an early riser, Caligo would always try to get a workout in. Using his moves or just testing his endurance, he would push himself to the limit before returning back home.

"Caligo good work it seems you're growing stronger" A scizor spoke.

"Of course father. I just hoped that I could get a sparring partner" Caligo said neutrally.

"How about me then?" His father asked.

"Sadly I believe my abilities would be abysmal compared to yours and...Forget it" Caligo said making his way inside keen on some other task.

"I've heard New members are arriving today, you might as well go take a look" His father said.

"Yes, I too have heard that. Guess that would be the optimum choice" Caligo said as he took his razor claw with him.

"Take care Caligo" His father said with a small smile.

"I will, Father" He said with his trademarked neutral look as he left his house behind.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The town seemed to buzz with commotion due to the newcomers.

"I had to go to Star Mart, right" He said to himself as he walked past the other pokemon nearby.

As he almost reached the Mart he began to feel a slight drop in the temperature and looked up to the sky. Dark clouds with hail trickling down he wondered what was with the sudden change in weather. Being a partial flying type he didn't enjoy the cold. The hail pelted his body but he just shook off the pain as he arrived at Star Mart. He wanted to get a handle on the situation.

He noticed a Mudkip and Linone who he remembered definetly seeing before. But the others were all new faces.

"Is there any issue here that I can help with?" He asked as his wings turned to steel in the preparation of a steel wing.

Chirin the Zorua
- Star Shard Town -

For a while, a small urge in her gut urged her to stay with the group, just so she didn't end up lost or having no clue where to go. Most of the Pokémon in the group more or less seemed to be your average guy, perhaps save for a relatively claustrophobic looking Alolan Vulpix. Chirin glanced at her for a second, before her eyes returned to the board. She re-read the thing over and over, making sure to take down every single drop of information it offered. Occasionally, she'd turn her attention to the other Pokemon simply going about their day and wondered to herself if she could do the same. She scratched her ear with one of her back legs, and then noticed a Mudkip bound their way towards the group. He quite happily introduced himself as Azure to the group, and the Sneasel responded simply by asking questions. The Zorua decided to take a different approach rather than ask things, so she simply waved with her tail and gave a simple, calm “Good morning!”

Then, it started to hail. The Zorua was alerted to this when her nose was dinked with a small piece. She wanted to look up, but the risk of having either one of her eyes smashed with a tiny cold pebble from the skies didn’t seem very enticing to her. She recalled the Vulpix looking particularly nervous when she glanced over, and then immediately came to the conclusion that she had Snow Warning. Not particularly good weather to battle in, Chirin reckoned. Well, as long as you were an ice type then it didn’t matter. Other than the Sneasel and Vulpix in the rag-tag group, Chirin couldn’t spot any. She shrugged off any concerns in her mind— this would wear off soon. As long as the Vulpix didn’t get terribly scared, of course.

Before long, the Sneasel- whom of which seemed to be more confident than the rest of the people in the newcomer group- decided to lead them all to the Star Mart. Not wanting to be left behind, Chirin suddenly picked up the pace and padded along shortly behind the Sneasel. The dark type glanced up at the Pokémon, and then she realised how much she should make a conversation rather than just be the one Pokémon that was just there. Though, she didn’t quite know what to say to start off a conversation.

Star Shard Town, 6:04 AM - 6:22

Things got hectic quickly after Mari tried talking to the sneasel. To be honest, she’s not really sure how it happened. One moment she was just trying to get the sneasel, Elliot, she supposed, to strike up a little conversation with her, and then all of a sudden the square was flooding with Pokémon. It would have been fine if it was just the- the what? Was that supposed to be a vulpix? It kind of looked like one, maybe, but it was unlike any vulpix she’d ever seen, white where she should be reddish orange, curled and poofy where she should be sleek. Well, she looked enough like a vulpix that Mari was going to say she was one, at any rate. She was painfully shy and looked a little shocked that she’d said anything at all, which Mari thought was a little inconsiderate toward herself. If you’re going to approach someone, might as well go as confidently as you can. She wasn’t doing herself any favors with that quiet stutter. Mari didn’t judge her though, some people were just like that. She’d find her confidence eventually. Maybe Mari’d even be around to see it.

The quiet didn’t last long though. Within a few minutes the square was teeming. Elliot got swept away by a strange little floating tree. He looked like some kind of ghost type with the shadowy, not quite solid material poking out the bottom of the little tree stump, though because of the tree stump, he almost certainly had to be a grass type as well. An interesting combination, but not as interesting as he seemed to think everything else was. He was a curious little guy to be sure, and Mari found herself chuckling quietly at his earnest enthusiasm. She didn’t answer any of his questions though. At the rate he was talking it didn’t seem like he really wanted answers so much as to simply ask questions, which was alright with her even if she did find it rather against the point of questions. Maybe she’d find him after everything had calmed down, he might appreciate a conversation once he could concentrate on one thing at a time. He did seem to agree that the other girl was a vulpix though, even if he seemed as lost as to why she looked like that as Mari was.

No one else that showed up after that was quite so energetic as the ghost tree, but the sheer number of pokemon was making the area very crowded and Mari was starting to lose track of what was going on. She thought she spotted a little black and red pokemon similar looking to a vulpix as well, but different enough she didn’t think that’s what she was. She only had one tail, anyway, which was really the dead giveaway. Mari didn’t get a chance to contemplate it longer or ask though because her attention was drawn away by another newcomer. She was pretty sure this one was a mudkip? She’d never seen one in person, or at least she didn’t think she had, but maybe she’d heard about them from somewhere? Or seen a picture? Regardless, he was a mudkip, but from the way he introduced himself it seemed like he’d been living in town for a while now.

Summarily ignoring the other three pokemon, Mari turned toward the mudkip. Smiling brightly, she answered, “Well, things certainly are lively around here this morning. I’m Mari, by the way. It’s nice to meet you. I take it things aren’t always like this around here?”

After the little bit of small talk, things settled down. Mari wondered if this was the extent of the company or if more pokemon would show up later. She didn’t mind either outcome, especially now that she had a few minutes to get her bearings, but it might be overwhelming for whoever was giving the tour if anyone else joined in. Well, they signed on for this, she was sure it would work out fine.

Taking advantage of the calmer atmosphere, Mari started to think about what she wanted to do after the tour. The town was nice, and if Azure was any indication so were the people. It wasn’t a bad place to stay, if she had to stay somewhere. Checking out the surrounding area was still a definite yes. She hadn’t seen much more than the grassy field she’d woken up in and the forest just beyond that, but there looked to be quite a variety of things to do around here and Mari was excited to take full advantage. A totally unknown area full of potential dangers? Sign her up. Just thinking about it got her energy up and, unbeknownst to her, her already fluffy wool coat puffed up and the little bulb at the end of her tail started to glow.

Speaking of the unknown and that forest, she had already been planning to check out that suspicious house right after this. There might be a few things she had to get sorted that she learned about during the tour, but getting a pretty wing from somewhere was definitely on the to do list. Or at least going to investigate the house. She didn’t necessarily need a pretty wing for that, but she figured if she was going to pry into someone else’s business she might as well do something nice for them first.

Oh! But she didn’t even know where it was. Looking back at Azure she started to ask, “Hey, Azure. Do you kno-”

She cut off when the linoone arrived. She remembered those. Or at least she had the feeling she’d seen one before. It was different than it was with Azure. Instead of just a vague recognition, the impression that this was something she had experienced leaped up to the forefront of her mind. Sleek brown and tan, rough sand and clear water. She’d definitely seen a linoone before, but had it really been this big? This guy was truly massive, towering over everyone present when he sat back on his hind legs. She was no expert, but she was pretty sure this wasn’t an average sized linoone.

He was polite though, so that was nice. Mari was so preoccupied being amazed that she didn’t realize she’d totally zoned out until something hard and a little bit painful pelted her in the head. Looking down at the object as it bounced to the ground, Mari tried to parse out what it was when another one struck her back. That didn’t hurt at least, since her wool was thick enough to protect her, but it prompted her to look up at the sky, and oh. It was hail. Not something she was unfamiliar with, but it’s sudden appearance was highly suspect. It had been sunny just a moment before, most of the already sparse clouds burned away as the sun continued to rise. Hail right now was a little unnatural, especially considering it wasn’t even actually that cloudy. Mari, thus, came to the only logical conclusion.

Some pokemon had done this. She didn’t know of any pokemon that could change the weather in this way without using a move, and she was certain no one had used a move. That really narrowed the options though. The only ice type that Mari knew in this little group was Elliot, but she’d never known sneasels to be capable of something like this, so that left someone else. It might have been Azure, since he was a water type. Maybe. But why would he cause it to hail when it would just end up hurting him too? He didn’t really seem like the type to do something like this anyway. She’d only known him for ten minutes and had one quick conversation, but he struck her as friendly and laid back.

Looking around the group again, she quickly ruled out the linoone and the tree. Linoone couldn’t do this, and it didn’t make sense for a grass type to know how to make it hail. That left the black and red pokemon and the white vulpix, and suddenly it hit her. Coloration was important to pokemon. For the most part, you could use coloration and general appearance to pick up on what type it might be, even if you’d never met one before. Usually, vulpix were orange and fire types, but if this one was white, could that mean her type was different too?

The hail didn’t seem to be hurting her at all. She actually seemed quite pleased about it, or at least calmer than she had been when she first arrived. Shuffling over to her, Mari poked her with one of her hooves. “Hey, do you think you could stop the hail? I know you’re really stressed out. There are a lot of new faces here and I get that can be pretty overwhelming, but only Elliot over there is an ice type and the rest of us are in pretty sorry straits right now.”

Erucca Carmine
Star Shard Town, 6:20 - 6:25 AM

The drop in temperature and the soothing touch of the drops of hail had calmed Erucca down for sure, but she still felt a pang of fear when the Scyther which had joined the group was readying a move. She assumed it was probably for the sudden change of weather, and hoped he didn't believe that she had been the cause of this. She tried to think back to her time as a human and remember whether she had taken down a Scyther as a Trainer. Of course a battle would be different with her actually being the Pokemon, and maybe the type and strength of the Pokemon she would have used to battle a Scyther back then would have differed from her current capabilities.

Embarrassment flowed through her body when the Mareep approached her and accused her of causing the hail, as well as asking her to stop it. She didn't seem as threatening as the Scyther but Erucca still worried about a potential confrontation.

"Um... I... I didn't start this..." she responded, though once she uttered the words she wondered if she in fact had. "I... I don't know how to stop it..." She added sheepishly. It came as a bit of a surprise to her that she was able to actually respond as opposed to run with fear at the Mareep's request and the Scyther's intimidation. Maybe the cold really was her element, although it was somewhat contradictory based on how her last traumatic moments as a human went.

After what seemed to be about five or so minutes the hail stopped and the skies were once again clear. As the sun shone once again and warmed up the area, Erucca tried to hold on to the comforting chill she had felt moments ago and the confidence it had brought with her. "... Sorry," she simply said to the Mareep, though glanced around at the others when she realized she should be apologizing to all of them. She wanted to explain how she was new to all of this and had no idea how her new found powers work but for the sake of not being ostracized decided against it. Even if she wasn't exactly comfortable around this group, none of them had tried to hurt her yet (except maybe the Scyther) and had in fact been fairly hospitable. She figured befriending them or at least staying in their good graces would increase her chances at survival when compared to going at it alone.

That led her to blurt out, "M-my name is Erucca!" in a rather forced projection. Friends and even acquaintances or members of the same community knew each other's names, right? The silence that followed after her interruption made her once again want to cower, though for the sake of not starting another hailstorm she tried her best to keep her compose.

Caligo Strom
Star Shard Town,6:25-6:28 AM

Hearing the mareep and vulpix speak Caligo cancelled his move, his wings returning back to their old green hue. He figured that he may have jumped the gun this time, his rashness in situations like these would often get him in trouble. But he didn't like to admit that he was wrong. He was too arrogant for his own good but this was how he was.

"Fine, I'm Caligo Strom" he said following on the vulpix Erucca's introduction and to stir the conversation away from his previous move.

Looking around he saw the others beside the linone and mudkip from before. They included a sneasel, a phantump(he felt an eerie feeling), a zorua and the mareep and vulpix from before.

Not knowing whether to speak or not he just stood there waiting for what came next.

Aiya
Star Shard Town
6:00 AM - 6:30 AM

Aiya had never been a morning Pokemon. A loud crash had roused the Umbreon from her restless slumber. It was a sharp drop, followed by the sound of broken porcelain, hinting that it might've been something valuable. Thus, still groggy from another mentally tiring night, she cautiously opened her eyes; bright rings of blue illuminating the comfortable shadows of her home.

A streak of light from outside peered through what appears to be a crack in the ceiling. A small meteorite perhaps? No, it wasn't the season for the annual showers yet. An intruder? The hole was quite small. She followed the light streaming down the damaged roof and saw what broke earlier.

The spigot regulating the flow of potable water in the house was badly chipped, impacted by something hard and heavy. A surprisingly hard chunk of ice was strewn nearby; the most obvious suspect. This must've come from the sky. An ordinary passerby would not have had the strength to hurl it with enough force to breach her straw ceiling and shatter a piece of the piping which had been made by hardened, sun-baked clay.

Hail is particularly unheard of during this season. A Pokemon had most likely used the move. It was best to start in the town plaza. That's where all the news originates after all. Looking around her house, she jams the piping with a hard rock first lest she returns to a flooded house. She picks up the ice shard and carries it in a small rucksack she uses for travel.

All-in-all, not the nicest way to start the morning.

A small crowd had congregated by the time Aiya arrived at the square. It felt unusual for her to be coming out early in the morning. Not that she never ventured to town mind you but she usually did it a bit past sunset, when there were less Pokemon roaming around the square.

Hence her 'phantom' reputation.

Linoone, Scyther--familiar faces. She's seen them, sometimes. Not much talking though. The others were...new. She didn't recall it being festival season for them to receive this many visitors.

The hail had already stopped prior and the sun was starting to shine again. Best be quick about her business. She walks towards the center of the commotion and drops the chunk of ice right in the middle.

"Someone lobbed this at my house this morning. Damaged the plumbing. I seek reparations from whoever's responsible."

She has no qualms of speaking up to people, despite her reclusive nature. Of course, she was aware that she always sounded half an inch away from a full-blown confrontation. If Hina or Haruki had still been around, they might have handled this a bit better than she did. Her eyes caught sight of Sneasel and the Ice Vulpix. Yes, she was aware that foxes did not come in just fire red. She had lived in Snowpoint prior, after all.

"Was it any of you?" Her eyes narrowed down to the two Ice types specifically.

As Reed was rapidly firing away questions and admiring the new Pokémon, it took him a while to realize that it was hailing. The first few pieces of hail went through his body from the top of his head, phasing through his ghost body. He also didn't detect the sudden frigidness because, well, he's a ghost. Reed is always cold. It wasn't until when the hail hit him in the face that he finally knew what was happening. He made an exclamation of, not pain, but surprise. He began to spin around in place to see what was causing the sudden weather change.

Eventually, the Mareep approached the Alolan Vulpix to confront her about the hail. Once Reed realized it, he bonked his head playfully as if to say, "Oh, of course!" How silly of him. It was obvious that she was the culprit, even if you didn't know what an Alolan Vulpix was. Then again, Reed has never seen that particular kind of Vulpix before.

Just then, the Phantump noticed that a Scyther had been behind him for a while. He immediately squealed in excitement. Though he had seen Scythers before, he always thought that they were cool. This one looked super strong. They looked like they were preparing an attack for a second... Pah! It must've just been the angle.

Before he could say anything, he heard the Vulpix introduce herself as Erucca. Reed thought it was a pretty name. Shortly after, the Scyther introduced himself as well, mentioning that his name was Caligo Strom. Immediately following, Reed exclaimed once again.

"Oh! That's a cool name! Are you strong?" Reed felt that his name matched his awesome aura. Man, he wished he had such a cool name... He gasped, then returned to talking.

"My name is Reed! And this is my Pyukumuku doll. I named him Pyu-Pyu because it sounds like a laser! Pew pew!" He proceeded to squeeze his doll, causing a white fist to emerge from its mouth as it squeaked. He did this repeatedly until he eventually decided to show everyone his sketchbook too. He temporarily placed Pyu-Pyu on the ground to get a better hold of his sketchbook.

"Here's my sketchbook! I draw stuff on it. Look!" Reed flipped through most of the pages too fast to be properly appreciated. Those that managed to get stuck on Reed's fingers for too long show honestly good art of various things, including places and other Pokémon. It was obvious that he was very talented.

He was just about to show them more stuff, but thankfully for everyone, an Umbreon appeared to interrupt him. He had seen Umbreons only a few times before, but this one seemed to have different color rings. He had never seen anything like that before. He tilted his head in curiosity. He listened to what the Umbreon had to say before pausing. He knew where the hail came from and he remained quiet. Though he was normally naive, Reed knew that the Vulpix might be in big trouble, so he silenced himself before he made someone mad. He retrieved his doll from the ground before awkwardly floating there in place, staring at his book.

He looked to the phantump called Reed whose enthusiasm seemed to overwhelm him. He normally didn't like ghosts due to....reasons, but this one seemed friendly. He nodded his head when he was asked whether he was strong. 'Of course I'm strong' he would think to himself with a tiny grin after getting the ego boost. His face going neutral immediately after.

He watched until he noticed an Umbreon appear. She spoke of the hail damaging her house. Luckily Caligo's house was out of the hail's range and even if it wasn't his father had probably fortified it enough to withstand the hail..probably.

Elliot the Sneasel
Star Shard Town, near the Star Mart. 06:30AM

The hailing had stopped, but the problems had just started. Hopefully not your everyday morning in Star Shard.

The Scyther was definitely intimidating. Although he seemed friendly enough, maybe he was just looking for a fight and got a little excited there. The culprit behind the hail turned out to be the Vulpix, just like he suspected. She apologized, and said her name was Erucca. Well, she seems very shy, maybe even to concerning standards. But she was friendly to him so she must be a friend! "Oh hi there! I'm Elliot. Nice to meet you..." as he chatted to her, he noticed that there was something odd about her. Just the way she was acting or maybe how she didn't know how to control Snow Warning almost as if it just hatched from an egg... nah, it was probably nothing.

However, things quickly began to go downhill when an Umbreon appeared. She seemed tired, almost as if she had just woken up by surprise. She said that her plumbing was broken by a piece of ice. Elliot may be dumb, be he wasn't an idiot. He quickly made the connection between the hail made by Erucca and and the Hail that made that Umbreon angry. Elliot was about to say that it was Erucca that made the hail, when he remembered that, sometimes, you must lie to protect someone. And considering Erucca could barely control her own ability, she would have no chance on a fight.

Elliot thought of saying it was his fault, but he also didn't want to pay for it... but he couldn't just tell the truth, and that started to make his head hurt. So in the middle of all this, he said "Oh it, hmm, was NOT Erucca, definitely not... but it wasn't me either, ehh... it was... a bird! Yes, hmm, a large blue bird dropped the hail in your house." "Nailed it"

Before any more lies could be told, a small voice came from the shop: "Ahh, you guys must be newcomers... well group up now, we'll start the tour soon!"

Not too long after Chirin started thinking about what could've been a starter to a conversation, a new Pokémon walked up to the group-- they though were far from being a newcomer. As a matter of fact, it was an Umbreon, and a rather dull looking, angry Umbreon. Clearly, she was extremely dissatisfied with what she'd propped on the floor; a large chunk of hail. The unamused dark type briefly and firmly explained that the piece of hail had damaged her plumbing, and that she was seeking the culprit choke up the money to fix it. Chirin's ears impulsively folded back, she winced and inhaled sharply through her teeth to herself. Jeez, what initially seemed like a cool ability to be born with if were the one that had it, now seemed like something far more irritating and destructive when said ability was active. Chirin found herself thankful that she could control her illusions whenever-- as long as she wasn't exhausted, of course.

The Sneasel hurriedly coughed up a humorously poor excuse for the Umbreon: something Chirin couldn't see the dark type falling for even if she was half asleep. That poor Vulpix, now facing the consequences for something she did without any say in it. The Zorua frowned slightly and returned to a normal posture- although slightly droopy. Perhaps Chirin could've helped out with an illusion? A few options to deceive would've been a Ducklett or Altaria. An Articuno would've been too hard to mimic at her stage and, of course, would be very unlikely to cross by. She wouldn't want to throw the town into hysterics. Of course, as soon as the very thought of producing an illusion came to mind, Chirin immediately disagreed with it and decided she wasn't going to do that. Not only would it be bad to do, given this was her first time here, it'd be hard to pull off without a good set-up. Unfortunately for Erucca, there wasn't much Chirin reckoned anyone could do here save for simply frown and stay silent. No-one wanted to rat out the sheepish fox.

Another voice, unfamiliar to the group, called out to them all- the group. Chirin's ear turned to face where the voice came from before her head snapped to face that location similarly. Thankfully it wasn't someone complaining of damages to their house.

Mass the Linoone
Star Shard Town; Star Mart - 6:33 AM

Mass took a moment to stay silent and simply observe the crowd with a small smile. It seemed like they had gotten quite the varied amount of people, like a very excitable Phantump with a Pyukumuku doll and a sketchbook, a curious looking Sneasel among others. One that caught his eye, again, was the shy looking Vulpix-- maybe a little too shy, considering she backed up and just a few seconds later, the weather changed.

Thunk!

A tiny piece pelted off of Mass's head, causing him to reach up and instinctively scratch at the spot. An idle thought passed his mind-- "I hope Zigs, Iggy and Goonie brought their bags to keep them from getting hailed on." Granted, the hail wasn't too bad (though that was subjective, considering he was a big Linoone) but he sure didn't want to have to deal with a crying Iggy at home. That little toddler could cry for hours.

Of course, hail could come in all shapes and sizes, and before Mass even knew it there was a dark figure plopping down a rather big block of ice in the middle of the crowd. Dark fur, sharp eyes and blue rings. Mass's ears pricked up in recognition-- he knew this Umbreon.

"Miss Aiya?"

She was curt and straight to the point, mentioning that she wanted compensation for the hail that had pelted her house. Almost immediately, an awkward feeling settled over the crowd; not that Mass could blame them. An angry Umbreon wasn't something someone would want to deal with this early in the morning...although on closer inspection, she looked less angry and more...cranky. Yes, that would be the word he used.

One of the first ones to speak was the Sneasel, who threw down a very...unique excuse for the hail. It was funny enough to make Mass chuckle, but then again-- it didn't really take much to make the large, hearty Linoone laugh. Though, as one of the Kecleons came out to ask the newcomers to start the tour, he figured now was a good time as any to step in.

Out of the kindness of his heart, of course. Definitely not because he heard about broken plumbing and could not, for the life of him, deny his services to someone else.

He shifted back down onto his paws and put himself between the Umbreon and the smaller Pokemon, stretching himself back up on his hind legs and flashing a smile.

"It was hailing just a little bit ago earlier," He spoke, "so I don't think it was anything intentional, if the culprit is here." Of course, the most likely culprit was the shy Vulpix, but he didn't want to jump to conclusions or get the smaller Pokemon in any more trouble.

"That being said, you mentioned that the ice damaged your plumbing, miss? I may be of some service in that area, if you need."

While everyone else was in town socializing, shopping, or otherwise having fun, there was a notable missing...erm..." aura." At a nearby lake, a young Riolu stood in front of its reflection, trying to figure out what on Earth is going on. "It's okay Lucas, don't panic. Panicking gets you nowhere." The young Riolu, actually a human named Lucas Ward, paced up and down the edge of the lake, attempting to come up with logical explanations as to what the blue light he walked toward did to him.

"I clearly walked into an alternate universe! Yeah, that has to be it! No wait, there's no way I jumped through a wormhole and changed figure in the process. What if the blue light was aliens and they probed me and moved my essence into a Pokemon? But why would I be a Riolu? What if the pokemon were secretly body snatchers all along and are infiltrating the world with their cuteness to destroy what's left of the human race!"

Lucas continued to pace back and forth until he noticed, out of the corner of his eye, the nearby town that hosted all sorts of pokemon. Not only that, but they were doing human things. They were shopping, eating, doing jobs, and they were talking. "Are they speaking...English?" Lucas decided that if he wanted to change back to a human (he did), he was gonna have to start investigating. Lucas rushed into town, stopping short of a large group of pokemon that were interacting with each other.

Lucas searched for words to come out of his mouth, but as a Riolu he has short legs. Therefore, "running" to the town turned to be more of a trial than he thought it'd be. This is all to say, Lucas is exhausted. "Does... does anyone..." Lucas sat down on the ground before eventually falling flat on his back. "I... really need a nap..."

//Lucas is completely open for interactions. Sorry for the late reply by the way.

When the Scyther, Caligo, introduced himself the Vulpix was able to relax. The feelings of ease continued as the Phantump, Reed, introduced himself and she even found herself chuckling slightly as he went on to continue giving Caligo his life story. Even when another newcomer joined the group Erucca managed to maintain her cool.

That was until she spoke. The Umbreon's property had been damaged and she had a bone to pick with whomever started it. That was of course Erucca but she didn't mean to, much less in order to do any property damage.

As the group felt silent she once again felt her chest tighten. She had no money or carpentry skills. To her surprise though, the first one to speak didn't throw her under the bus, and even tried to divert the blame. None of the others said anything either, and someone even offered to fix the damage.

The Ice-type once again cooled down. Maybe these guys weren't such a bad group of people. Maybe she'd be alright here.

And then yet another newcomer joined the group: a Kecleon. He spoke about a tour, which from what she read off of the sign Erucca assumed that was the tour around the town mentioned. This seemed like a fairly nice town and assimilation would be the best chance for survival so she decided she would see what else it had to offer.

Everything seemed to be going slightly rocky compared to how her start in Star Shard was envisioned in her head, though seemed to be smoothing out. One kind Pokémon offered to pay for the damages done to the plumbing, while the others seemed to be rather jovial. Chirin smiled to herself and ended up turning her gaze to the side to simply learn the layout of the town, but then saw something blue scurrying to reach the group. Immediately, given its black colouring around its eyes and its signature look, Chirin identified it as a Riolu. Riolus and Zoruas, including Lucarios and Zoroarks, were two complete opposite of each other. Lucarios were quick, had great special attack, and a really powerful physical attack. Zoroarks were slightly quicker, had a better special attack but a weaker physical attack. Both species had mediocre to weak HP, defence and special defence, and that was their weaknesses. Though, while Zoroarks and Lucarios were complete opposites of one another, Chirin felt a slight kinship with the Riolu.. whom of which, by the time he reached the group, collapsed to the ground in exhaustion, asking for a nap. Chirin decided that this would be a good opportunity to make friends.

She padded up to the collapsed blue fighting type and looked down at him with a curious, yet concerned gaze. Her head tilted slightly to the side.

"Are you alright?" Asked the Zorua, mildly worried for the Riolu. She would've made a remark stating that the fighting type looked absolutely exhausted, but that blatantly obvious observation would've made her seem dull-- at least in her mind. If she had any Fresh Water on her she would've gladly given it to the collapsed figure, she imagined he'd be parched.

Aiya
Star Shard Town
6:33 AM - 6:40 AM

"Amusing." The Umbreon's eyes dilated slightly upon the Sneasel's little ruse. Perhaps he thought she was foolish enough to fall for the half-baked excuse? Nonetheless, she had picked up on that small tell just now. Restless eyes, slight stutter--the Sneasel had just given her all the information she needed. Her eyes now turns to the Vulpix.

"That was your Ability just now, wasn't it?" She takes a step forward. None of the other townsfolk so far seemed willing to intervene. That is until, Mass the Linoone came forward, situating himself between her and the new Pokemon in town.

The Linoone spoke in a friendly manner though his little maneuvering did not go unnoticed. Almost like a mother shielding its litter from a predator's attack. Is that how they're choosing to interpret this scenario now? Her, the attacker and Vulpix a fragile egg that must be protected? Nonetheless, Aiya was not one to give in to displays of intimidation, as per all Umbreon. Her eyes widened while her pupils constricted as she looked up at the Linoone.

"Unfortunately, I don't intend on forking any coin for a damage I did not cause." She steps to the side, keeping Vulpix in her sights.

Yet whatever tension was initially there was soon dispelled by the arrival of the Kecleon tour. It was a small custom concocted by the brothers in order to pitch their small town. First impressions matter, especially when you're competing with other towns for occupancy. Admittedly, she felt a hint of remorse for being too confrontational to the town's prospects early on.

Aiya relaxes her gaze; her pupils returning back to normal while her ears perked up again with a slight twitch. Her focus shifts back to the Linoone. "I'll gather the clay at the riverbank. Swing by the house later." Providing the material should significantly cut down the cost of repair.

There was one takeaway however. She had been focusing on the Vulpix for a bit and this particular one gave off an odd scent. Like there was something weird underneath the scent of fresh snow on a winter morning. Quite peculiar. Probably best not to dwell on it further.

As she passes by the bulletin on her way back, she noticed that the farm was in need of more mulch. She keeps this information in mind. She was headed down the riverbank anyway. Might as well do the town some favors.
