Fandom Pokémon Legends: Castaways IC [CLOSED]

Samantha "Sami" Moore

It took 5 days to get the village back in worker order with the help of their Pokemon. Or, at least, something resembling working order. Regardless, all the houses were stable enough that they could actually sleep in them without worrying about the roof collapsing on them, which was nice.

And thus, five days later, the most surprising thing happened: people, a man and a woman, walked into their village. Not Castaways, actual people from this time period. How did Sami know this? It was their clothes. It was the garb of the Diamond and Pearl clans respectively. She'd seen it in multiple fashion textbooks and it was a big inspiration for her.

"Excuse me." The woman called out. "But who is the leader of this settlement. We'd like to speak to them."

Three days. For three of the next five days Zeke had successfully located and studied a group of wild Combee. Why study Combee of all pokemon? It was simple. He reasoned if he studied them, learned which one was considered their “queen” and captured it, the Queen Combee would order the worker Combee to gather honey for the collection of individuals he currently found himself a part of. He happened upon the Combee hive while out searching for alternative food resources one day, and decided that Honey would make a better alternative than trying to cultivate the mushroom of a Paras. He could use it in the meals he cooked, or if they found a way to make contact with the locals it could be used for trade. After three days of study, Zeke was confident he had identified the Queen. A larger than average Combee with the telltale red wedge on its lowest face indicating it was female fluttered daringly close to Zeke who was currently laying on his stomach in some grass that was in desperate need of cutting, the male moving slowly enough to hopefully not be spotted before it was too late. Unlatching a pokeball from his waist Zeke would rise from the grass James Bond coming out of the water style as the Combee turned her back to him, Zeke knowing a good opportunity when he saw one. In a single swift motion the ball was expanded and thrown, Zeke ducking back in to the grass as quickly as he had risen. He knew he only had the one shot at this. If it failed, the hive would scatter. If it succeeded, he and the others would be that much closer to being able to live a more comfortable life, if such a thing exists in this time period.

Whether the capture was successful or not Zeke would return to the encampment not too long afterwords, either head held high at his triumph or head hung low at his defeat. Either way there was a pair of unfamiliar looking faces in their camp asking to speak to the leader, Zeke thinking carefully about how best to answer their question. First off he wanted to know who were these people. And secondly what they wanted with the leader. Which was a curious thing in itself, given there was no actual appointed leader of their group. Either way, he thought it best to give a vague answer to these strangers, and so responded with “Leader's not actually here at the moment. Buuut if you come back later, or maybe tomorrow, you might catch them then."

A whole five days, gone in the blink of an eye. What happened after the attack? Did Kei make it out alright? Well, Kei spent all of that time recovering from his wounds. After the initial chaos he was thankfully able to get a better examination concerning the amount of damage down by the chomp. Unfortunately, he did have a scapula fracture in his shoulder blade, meaning he’d be wearing an arm sling for quite a while. Miraculously, he wouldn’t get any major infections, despite his stitches being made from bug string which couldn’t be all that sanitary now that he thought about it. All in all, he came out of the encounter incredibly lucky considering the amount of danger such a situation posed. Even then, it’d be a cold reminder that this Hisui was filled with many threats that Sinnoh hadn’t, he’d need to be much more careful from now on if he didn’t want to end up in any kind of worse scenario.

Also concerning the wound, Kei had mentioned before that he’d hoped the wound would eventually scar. For now, it was too early to tell, the bite marks that hadn’t needed immediate stitching had only just entered their scabbing phase, in which it took all of the boy’s willpower not to peel them right off. It’d take much longer before he could say for certain.

One thing that Kei could definitively say was that not being able to use his arm sucked. Really sucked.

Even the slightest accidental movement was enough to cause Kei to wince, there was no way he could do much with the arm, much less carry something. With that causing trouble, Kei wasn’t allowed to help with the rebuilding of Castaway Town much to his dismay. While every busying them selves with construction, Kei was left to impatiently wait right by the sidelines. Even his very own Pokémon had been too busy to pay the boy any mind. Dian had been putting Rock Smash to great use, helping break down boulders and such for nice even ground that could be used to build houses or farm. Likewise, even the armless Cindy helped out by using Rock Throw to clear the smaller rocks out of the area. And finally Steve had taken up mapping out the nearby area for berry tree locations, following behind the native Aimpom who were happy to show their new friend the best places to find materials. Compared to everyone else, Kei felt totally useless in every single way. He was sick of it! Any more lying around and he might just explode.

Thankfully his boredom would finally be alleviated on day five. He had been on the front ‘yard’ of his home, checking on how the wound was healing when he’d catch a glimpse of two strangers talking with Zeke. The weird thing was, they definitely didn’t look like they came from the future. No, could they be the locals? He could somewhat recognize their clothing from the history textbooks he’d been forced to read in school. They were probably Hisui’s native peoples. Ever curious, Kei decided it wouldn’t hurt to investigate.

He’d wave at Zeke with his good arm while making his way over to the three. Up close Kei could make out the finer details of the two strangers. One by the looks of it was a woman wearing a large pair of goggles around her neck while the other a man with bandages wrapped around his forearms. Smiling at the two he’d greet them with a simple yet sweet “Hi there!”

Gales of Song!

"Eviuu!" A loud cry excitedly echoed from behind. A tiny ball of fluff running around a seemingly normal, ordinary nothing special 'bout it rock. Hopping atop of it into the lap of an incredibly bored young girl's silken dress. Even with five days worth of work to possibly do, with only a talent for coordination and performance, Dulcia felt utterly useless to the group. Due to her weak physique, she couldn't help with lifting heavy objects, and would normally end up dropping everything she tried to hold. Soon she found out she wasn't good at helping with berry collecting either. She stuck out like a sore thumb in open fields and grassy terrain, due to the glittering iridescence illuminating from her dress, which is also unfortunately gonna be the only clothes she can wear until they can find fabric of some sort. Kicking a tiny pebble, as she pet Parait, who was resting on her lap.

What was there to do if you're only skills were meaningless in a time period where entertainment was scarce since everyone was too busy going on with their daily lives, they were too busy to look for a form of escapism. When was coordination even invented? She thought about how she should've probably studied about this more. On the other side of the spectrum though, even though this beachy area, ugly as it may be, was still kind of calming to stay in. Though thinking about her failed attempts of trying to be helpful was less calming.

Sighing to herself, looking into the azure sky above. "If I can't prove my worth, will they see me as a dead-weight and kick me out?" she mumbled to herself. Even Parait, a small ball of fluff was more useful than she could be. Ove rin the distance, she heard a the loud voice of someone she hadn't heard before. What was was this now? she thought. Gently picking up Parait in both of he arms. "Eeve!" He cried out in excitement. Shaking his legs energetically, he was so ready to greet the new people. But Dulcia wasn't gonna let him easily go and cause trouble again.

Looking further, she saw the Furfrou and the Average guy talking to a few weirdos in a perculiar apparel. She had no right to judge though, because it wasn't as bad as what she was wearing. She walked over and said bluntly with Eevee in hand, "So uh, what's going on now?" The weirdos didn't look like they were new castaways, judging by their way of speaking.
