JC seen they were headed out as she recalled her Nidoran for some rest. She called over her squirtle who stood next to her. Seen noticed the others had at least a Pokemon out for danger so she may as well as keep one out as well. She mused over Kai's question about specific Pokemon she'd want to have on her team.

"I'm not sure," JC admitted to herself, "I've seen a lot of different Pokemon while living in White City for a while, though I think they said they were all native to Kanto. I used a few rental Pokemon to do a few tournaments and I remember I used a Pikachu a lot thanks to a show I used to watch on TV."

She watched as Kai packed up his stuff. She wondered if she should offer to help, but it seemed he and his Pokemon had everything taken care of. Maybe next time. She pondered on the other question.

"I seen some Caterpie around too," JC remarked but didn't think they were as dangerous as beedrill. She then looked to Mavis, "Well, I'm ready when you are," She said.

JC answers first regarding the choice of Pokemon. She didn’t have a preference either like Mavis. ”Ah, yes rental Pokemon. The festivities behind it are fun.” Occasionally, her family would help set up a local tournament by using their farm or their livestock. It’s fun for everyone and a once-a-year opportunity. Mavis might have to miss the annual festival this year. ”As for me, I’m not necessarily searching for Pokemon. She simply answered. She could add more but isn’t the type to talk about herself. Besides, once they were out of the woods they would part ways.

As knowledgeable as Mavis is, she doesn’t really know herself. The only thing she does know is that bug and grass-type Pokemon lurk in the Viridian Forest. ”I don’t know. I just know bug and Grass live in the forest. There are uncommon Pokemon here like JC’s Pikachu.” She said. ”I hope you get to at least take one Kanto Pokemon. That would be a treasure to remember.” Mavis pats Ghastly proud that he’s her partner. She then notices Kai had picked up his campsite. Despite it being his belongings, she could have helped him. ”Sorry I didn’t help. Please don’t be afraid to ask for assistance. It’s the least we can do for your kindness.” She then looks forward to the path ahead. ”Alright, Ghastly, we have to get out of this place. The forest is thick, and tricky. If you would please be kind enough to guide us out. Our destination is the exit of Viridian Forest found to the North. Do you think you can take us there?” Ghastly’s eyes light up delighted to comply. The group will be relying on him to find a way out. He begins to press forward.

Maya gave a slight nod as she followed Mauro into the gym facility. She had actually expected the girl to follow them but it didn't seem the case, perhaps she happened to be in the area.

Nonetheless, Maya looked around at the gym set up. The room they had entered was a kind of reception room. There was a few chairs and straight ahead was a set of double doors. To the left of the double doors was a window that opened up to a small room where an individual was. Seemed that was where you signed up. Just inside the window was a computer console that those looking in couldn't see all that well, on the outside there was a swipe card reader even with the window.

Two the left of the double doors was a single door. Perhaps this was where the spectators took if they just wanted to see some gym battles. Maya glanced as she happened to walk towards the window, "... I guess this is where we sign up?" She pondered and the individual there perked up and gave a warm smile.

"Hello, welcome to the Violet City Gym," He said, "Come see me if you would like some more information about our gym, register for a gym battle, or register for the league itself. If you're here to spectate, please take the door to your right which will lead you to the stands."

Maya nodded at this information as she walked up to the window. "I'd like to register for the indigo league please."

"Ofcourse," The man said with a smile as he did some typing on his end, "Please swipe your trainer card on your end."

Maya nods as she instantly got a bit nervous. She didn't think about a trainer card. She slung her backpack off her back as she dug into it, soon enough finding the card that was requested. Well, she hoped this worked... Doing her best to hide her nerves, she zipped up her bag and put it back on her back as she swiped the card in question. She waited nervously as the man looked at a screen only he could see before he gave a nod, "There you are, you are all registered," He said, "Would you like to also take on the gym?"

Maya nodded, "Yes," She said as the man also nodded in return. He did some typing on his end before he nodded.

"You are all ready to go," He said, "There is one person in front of you right now."

Maya nodded as she pocketed her trainer card and had a seat there in the room. Feeling more nervous as it were.

Kai nodded at the answers the two gave. That seemed about right. Aside from Alcremie and Appletun, he never really had a set goal on any specific Pokémon he wanted. He was caught those he ran into or happened to choose in the moment. You couldn't really plan things like that sometimes. "I might catch at least one new friend with me just to remember this adventure." Kai mused as they got ready to go. "Ah- no need to apologize." He said sheepishly as he waved his hands dismissively. He was pretty used to doing the clean up himself even if he had guest. "Um, though if you really want to help next time it will be very appreciated." Kai spoke with a smile. Now being ready to go himself.

With Gastly leading the way, and Churro and Squirtle helping clear out any random encounters they run into, making their way to the other end of the forest was looking to be a lot easier than it was when they were doing this alone. There were a few twist and turns, but eventually the outline of Pewter city could be seen in the background between a break in the trees as they neared the edge of the forest.

To finally be out of those stuffy words, Kai gave a sigh of relief. "We're finally out." Kai said with a chuckle. Glancing at his rotom phone and checking to make sure his service was alright. Which is was! He'll make sure to get proper maps saved next time he goes into any dark and creepy forest. He then looked at the three pokémon still out and smiled. "You three did such a good job too~" Kai hummed as he praised the three. Giving each of them a well deserved pat on the head.

"Thanks to you two as well. Who knows how much longer I'd still be in there if it was still just me trying to figure it out."

Mauro also signed up for the league as he then walked over to Maya and said, “ you gonna battle the gym leader?” He looked ar her and smiled as he got ralts back into her pokeball as he smiled and stretched a bit as he was ready but didn’t know if she wanted to go first.

Maya glanced up at the boy from earlier.

"Yeah," Maya replied to him. She was still a bit nervous as she had had out a Pokeball as she was glancing at it a moment or two, "...You know much about Falkner? Is he.. a flying type specialist?" It was clear that it was a little worrisome to Maya on that subject.

JC was already feeling exhausted when they finally got out of the forest and stepped back onto Route 2. The sun was just now starting to reach the horizon so they should be able to make it to Pewter City before night fully enveloped them. JC glanced down at her Squirtle as it let out an exciting cry at the admiration from Kai. JC beamed at her Pokemon as well, "Yeah you did excellent."

She then gave a slight nod to Kai at his acknowledgement of that, "Well, I think the credit more goes to Mavis and her Gastly. We'd both would probably still be in there if not for her." She laughed at the idea.

Interactions: JC JCKane & Kai Bloody_Death​

Mavis focused on Gastly the whole time hoping it wasn’t attempting to trick anyone. The lack of trust between a Pokemon and their partner is wrong, but again it’s only the beginning of their bond even if they’ve been together for a decade. It’s different on the road. To Mavis’ relief, Gastly had successfully guided everyone out. Gastly swayed thanking Kai for the compliment before hovering over to Mavis for approval. A small smile graces her lips. ”You did do great. Thanks for not fooling around. You can rest now.” Gastly nods, and melts into Mavis’ shadow. ”Honestly, I was concerned about Gastly pulling a prank on us, so I’m glad it didn’t come to that.” She admitted, answering both JC and Kai. ”I wouldn’t be able to get out of the forest nor realize I need a map to proceed with my journey.” Then it hit her, they were out of Viridian Forest which meant it was time to split.

”This was an experience. I guess now we can go on our separate paths.” There was a somber tone to her words. Why did she feel sad all of a sudden? They were just passersby. It’s a common thing. Mavis will encounter many others along the way in her search. Still, she had a pleasant time learning about them, earning words of wisdom, and even sharing a meal. That means something, right? Maybe being sentimental over such a small moment shouldn’t have her overthinking. ”Where are you two headed off to?” She could at least ask them that before their departure.

The cheers of the three pokémon made Kai smile. It was nice that they all managed to work together. "I'm sure Gastly knows enough not to prank about something like that, right?" Kai said sheepishly as he watched Gastly vanish into the shadows. Though, maybe he was wrong and the ball of gas really would have wandered them around the forest if he wanted to. "It all ended with us getting out of there." And that's what really mattered.

At the mention of splitting up he tilted his head. "Mmm yeah, well I'm heading into Pewter city to try out the gym challenge. So I'll probably be staying there for a few days at least. If anyone else is heading that way I don't mind the company." Kai offered a small smile to them both at the invitation. It would be nice to form a little party so early in his adventure. But if not, it would be a bit sad to part but he had quite a blast while they were stranded in the forest together.

JC pondered slightly at the question that was proposed. Where were they headed? JC took out her map and looked at it again. Granted, what she didn't know is there were 2 other options she could take. One included a way around Viridian Forest to head back to Viridian, the other was Diglette's Cave but she had no idea that it lead to Vermillion. The Map itself didn't exactly indicate this. She then put up her map with the still confusion on her face.

"Is there another way to go but Pewter?" JC asked. She then looked to Kai as she caught what he had said, "Oh, you're also doing the gym challenge? Me too!" Her confusion quickly shifted to excitement at the prospect. But then she paused as her stomached growled a bit, "... Though... maybe we should get going then... I'm starving and I'd prefer to sleep in a bed if I can help it." She chuckled as she didn't exactly have any camping gear. Seemed she expected to go from town to town in at least a single day.

It was nice to know Kai had a positive outlook on Gastly. At least someone did. ”Thank you, that’s awfully kind of you to think so.” She acknowledged. It seems both JC and Kai are indeed trainers trying for the gym challenges. She’s heard of it on the news, it was a big deal, but she never bothered to look into it. Before she could ask, Jc’s stomach growled. She suggested continuing making the trip to Pewter City together, and maybe find a nice place to bunk for the night than camp in the woods. Mavis looks over to the horizon. The sun still up in time to reach to their destination judging from the map. At least Mavis will spend a little longer with the two before splitting apart. A chancte for her to understand what it felt like to be a trainer. Thank goodness Gastly was not at her side right now. He would probably call her out.

”I think that’s a good idea.” Mavis agreed. ”We should get going in that case, if we want to arrive in time before the sun sets.” Mavis presses on leading the way to Peweter City. It’s a straight line from here on out.

Around nightfall, the trio arrived safely to Pewter City. Mavis was in awe of the town. It was like her own, but a bit more lively. It seemed as though people were heading home for the day. ”Whoa. Mavis said. Her Gastly emerges from the shadows in awe of the lights illuminating the dark. It felt a little like home. Mavis smiles at her partner. ”This place looks nice, doesn’t it?” Gastly nods in agreement as he dances around. It’s a pleasant sight to behold her partner have fun rather than pranking people. They wer content, but that also meant Mavis might have to take a midnight stroll for him. It wouldn’t be fair if they wandered out scaring folks without meaning to. Mavis turns to Kai and JC, ”If I recall, a Pokemon Center provides shelter and food for trainers, correct? We should search for one.”

Mauro looks and said, “ not sure.” He looked at her as he at her as he looked at his pokeball and said, “ but if anything im ready.” He smiled

That didn't help Maya's confidence as much, "...Well I heard he uses flying types," Maya said a little nervously. She then wondered slightly why she was talking to this guy, drawing attention to herself... then again if she just stopped talking to him that would also draw attention to herself.

Kai gave a soft smile and nodded. Looks like they needed to get to the city for several reasons. Some were hungry again and no one really wanted to sleep outside. "Let's get moving then. I also don't really want to spend my first day in Kanto out camping." He said sheepishly, walking with the others. "Are you looking to be a champion, JC? Or are you doing the league for fun?" He questioned before letting out a smile. "I'd like to have a battle sometime. Maybe." What better way to become friends with a trainer?

As they arrived at the city Kai looked around with a sigh of relief. He was exhausted after several constant days of traveling from Galar. "We should stop by the center to let all the pokemon rest up anyway." He soon called Churro back into his ball as they began heading toward the center. Stretching out as he did as they headed in. Kai greeting the nurse at the desk before handing the pokeballs over.
