"Mhmm...mhm...Of course you'd get beaten by a dragon specialist with your own dragon." Vinno mumbled in-between eating her food. "Dragon Pokemon are strong, at least statistically, but they're volatile to train, especially when pitted against each other." She added while looking over at Reina. Vinno didn't want to make assumptions about someone she had just hung out with for a day, but Reina seemed like the type to have her emotions overrun her. Well, she also partially admitted to it.

"I know it seems pretty cool to like, uh, have a dragon showdown or something, but strategically that just isn't great, especially since you're up against someone who knows all about dragons. If you can't get the first-move advantage, you're just going to get steamrolled. Dragons are weak against each other afterall." Vinno suggested, that although it was a viable strategy to battle a dragon specialist with your own dragon types, it was a risky one as well due to the double-edged nature of the type. If one can't gain momentum fast, they'll wind up on the defensive, which usually spells defeat in such a match-up.

Vinno tilted her head a bit and looked at Reina, it wasn't uncommon to have trainers that disliked losing, but it was the way they handled loss that was the key. "So...you think mastering Z-moves can help you win more? Why is that? Do you have battle plans built around one?" Vinno asked, a bit more sternly this time.

"...It doesn't matter, all of it. Z crystals, terastellization orbs, mega stones, dynamax bands...if you never understand how they fit into your battle style and your battle plan, they'll wind up as shiny trinkets and pointless spectacles in the end." Vinno sighed and took a sip of lemonade as well. "I've seen plenty of trainers who'll say things like that, 'only if my Pokemon could mega evolve', 'only if I mastered Z moves', but they just sought after power, and power will only ever get you so far. Most of the time people don't lose gym battles because they lack power - the gym system isn't set up in such a way." Vinno said while quietly sipping her drink, eyes closed serenely.

"So tell me, Reina, why do you think you lost those gym battles?"

"I don't know?" Reina groaned and leaned back on her chair. "First I thought we lacked power, but the gym leaders fight us at an even power level so that can't be it. Then I thought maybe we need better strategies but I've won using the most simple ones, to some deep thought out ones and some have just been luck! Chuck says I need to concentrate on the battle more, focus focus foucs. That's all I've been getting. I'm doing meditation, going back to the basics and this Z-move is supposed to help me with all of that somehow."

She pouted for a second or two, but then reached out for some berry, biting into it. "I guess I can't fix it on my first day here huh?" With a smile she shrugged it off and went back to her cheerful self. "But I really appreciate any and all advice you have to give me Vinno. You must know a lot because you are always watching strong trainers, right?"

"Mhmm..." Vinno tilted her head, seeming lost in thought. Reina appears to have a grasp of what she has done right and wrong in the past, even if it was tenuous.

"Well, even if gym leaders are top trainers, they're still people. People have different personalities and battle styles, so there's no one-size-fits-all all solution. You might be able to beat some of them with simple strategies, while others would totally shut them down." Vinno sat back and replied to the other girl's confusion.

When Reina mentioned how she must know a lot because of her battle watching experience, Vinno looked away for a bit. She looked lost in thought while clenching her hands underneath the table. "I...Perhaps. Perhaps I do..." She muttered. "But...I'm not actually good at battling." The girl finally sighed out. "Even though a lot of people ask me for advice, and I do talk about it quite a bit...when it comes to doing it myself...I don't perform too well." She added, though not as melancholic as before.

"It's easy to understand what to do if you removed yourself from the battle, perhaps that's what your master meant. It's much more difficult to make proper decisions when you are in the heat of the moment."

Reina looked at Vinno with a lost expression on her face. Then, out of nowhere, her face lit up, almost seeing the light bulb switch on over her head. "You're a genius!" She cried out loud, getting some others from the table to look over their way. "We don't need to be the perfect battle tag team, to be a team. If you're not busy, could you stick around for a while? If me and Blue take on some Alola trainers, you could give us some pointers. See, Blue Demon is determined to nail that Z-Move, but I'm pretty sure it's my little of focus, in battle and during the training, that's keeping us from ash- ashea, reaching it! Could you watch us please? In return, we can practice some battles together or team up like today, you have to admit we were an awesome team."

Reina's eyes lit up with emotion and inspiration, as her ancestors did when they saw the gold in Metztli before taking over. "Oh pero que genial seria!" She threw her hands into the air and sighed. "Sorry, I get carried away. If you're not sure, at least sleep over it? This could probably be better with a friend." She gave Vinno a smile as she reached for her lemonade glass, "I almost forgot, a toast, to our friendship!" She held up her glass, waiting for Vinno before drinking the remaining liquid in it.

"I suppose I can, sometimes at least, but I'll probably be using footage of your battles in my videos, I'm in pretty desperate need of B-roll......they keep playing copyrighted music at bigger tournaments recently" Vinno replied to the girl's suggestions. "It's quite difficult to catch private battles between people who know what they're doing as well." To be frank, it's not like Vinno had a lot more to do before the contest circuit - the video topic she had promised her audience to do, was going to start. She sighed a bit as she mulled over the fact that she isn't that good at battling herself, the fact that she only had two Pokemon was already a hurdle against her, but since Reina seems to be planning to only train one Pokemon, that might not be that big of an issue anymore.

"You don't focus on the battle...while battling?" She glanced over and asked when Reina made that analysis. "What do you...uh...think about during battles then? If not the battle itself." As someone who often hyperfocuses on battles, even ones that she doesn't participate in, Vinno was a bit confused. She have heard of trainers who panic or blank out during battles, but this seems different.

"Umm...yeah. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance...or something." Vinno muttered as she looked over at Reina, and quietly sipped a few drops of liquid from the cup they just toasted a bit awkwardly (the other girl didn't seem to notice that.).

Vinno's words left Reina thinking for a bit, but she shrugged it off and decided to focus on the food and people they had in front of them. The rest of the evening was spent with Reina, Hau and Vinno talking about this and that. Hau even invited Reina to dance, to his surprise, she actually knew how to. Reina tried to get Vinno to join them, but it seemed she didn't want to. In the end tho, after Hau helped his drunk grandpa to bed, the trio spent a few more hours talking, mainly listening to Reina boast about her region, until they finally went to bed.

The next morning, as soon as the sun rose, Reina opened her eyes. She felt tired, but Blue Demon's devotion to the training forced her out of bed. She put on her training gear and head outside, finding Hala already watering the plants outside his home. Reina and Blue Demon took their stance and once again started practicing their Z-Move.

As Reina went back to her training, Vinno realized she probably should be getting back on track with making some videos as well. Gengar dutifully followed her, carrying the still half-asleep Rotom drone above his head while waddling around. "Huh, you want to go for a flight? Sure, we're going to be on Melemele for a while anyways, just be back for lunch time." Vinno stroked the feathers of Atria, her Talonflame before the bird took off into the tropical regions clear bright skies.

"And here we are in Alola, like most regions, Alola is home to a variety of berry trees." Vinno looked up at the floating Rotom drone while half crouching near a pile of berries below a tree. "But we're not here to talk about berries today, if you want to learn more about them, check out my berry basics and advance battle uses of berries series playlist in the description down below."

With a deep breath, Vinno continued. "Today we're going to talk about Pokemon that are attracted to wild berry piles, in Alola, the most common of those is crabrawler..."

"...With that being said, I suggest adding a team member who can help Crabominable by creating a suitable playing field with weather for them to attack on. If you're not a fan of the cold, other methods of slowing down the opponent, like trick room or moves that obstruct their movements can help too..."

"...And cut."

"Phew." Vinno fanned herself slowly with a leaf from the berry tree as the Rotom drone whirled into sleep mode. "Was my mic on properly, I wouldn't want to have to voice over that again." She said to the Gengar beside her while checking the footage.

"Swad- swad swad-" The small cloaked bug Pokemon was curled underneath the shade of the tree the whole time, Vinno looked over at the Pokemon and tried to pick her up, but not before having her attention caught by some rustling.

"Hey, is that berry pile...did you eat..." In an instant, a few crab Pokemon emerged from inside the pile and on the trees, their blue rounded hands punching the ground while landing. A few of the crab Pokemon snatched up the Swadloon before running towards the forest.

"Hey, wait!" Vinno wanted to pull for Talonflame's Pokeball, but the ball was empty today as the bird went on her little light. A ball of shadow appeared in Gengar's hand, but the ghostly Pokemon was stopped by his trainer. "No, don't, you might hit Hiiki." Vinno explained before starting to run after the crabrawlers. Gengar's half-created shadow ball disappeared into the air, before he too follow in his trainer's tracks.

"Are you sure they went this way?"

Reina walked with her Hawlucha and Bulbasaur down the road. In order to celebrate they had seen a spark when practicing their Z-Move, Reina had decided to go tell Vinno and go tour town. But, they had no idea where she went. Blue Demon lead the way, looking sure of having sighted their temporary companion and her Gengar. But the Alolan trees didn't make it any easier.

"Maybe you should like, jump high and look for them?" Reina said with a suggestive tone, shrugging as Hawlucha gave her an annoyed look. "Could work..."

Reina was about to try and call Vinno, when she saw a commotion up ahead. "Hey, I think that's them? Go on ahead Blue Demon!"

Without any further instructions, the luchador bird rushed forward. Hawlucha rushed past several bushes and trees before getting a good view of the situation. Not wanting to cause any trouble, the bird caught up to Gengar, running along side him, waiting for Vinno's instructions.

Reina meanwhile ran in the direction Blue Demon had, having to carry her Bulbasaur who just didn't seem to want to go into the Poke Ball. "This would be a lot faster... if you would just... go into the Poke Ball!"

"Hu......It's so hot......" Vinno sounded a bit out of breath, since content creator isn't exactly a job where you can build up stamina in. But she had no choice but to chase after the wild Pokemon that had kidnapped her non-battling Swadloon.

As she ran past the road near town, a familiar Pokemon hopped out and followed her alongside Gengar. "Oh, you're the-" Vinno recognizes the Pokemon as the Hawlucha that belongs to Reina, the girl trying to study Z-moves she met yesterday.

"Where's your trainer?" Vinno asked half-heartedly while they kept on chasing the wild Crabrawler. If the Pokemon is around, the trainer usually is...okay, maybe not, as Vinno thought about Atria going on a solo flight right now.

"H-Hey, you..." Vinno looked at the Hawlucha and thought about the brief tag battle she had with Reina yesterday, what types of moves would a trainer like Reina teach her Pokemon? What were the moves she had already shown? "...Uhh, do you know any flying type moves? Can you go faster? Hone claws won't help...ugh..." The heat and exhaustion from the chase clouded Vinno's head. Gengar couldn't do much against the Crabrawler out of a fear of hitting Swadloon too, but Hawlucha's close ranged attacks would work much better, except she wasn't sure what to do, this was someone else's Pokemon after all...

The luchador known as Blue Demon nodded in respond to Vinno. Get up close, don't kill the package. Hawlucha took to the trees, jumping forward from banch to branch as a white aura began to cover his body. Aerial Ace always helped him locked on to his target and never miss. With the Crabrawler in sight, the masked fighter began moving faster and faster. The speed increased until Blue Demon was a colorful blur that crashed down into one of the wild Pokemon. One down.

That didn't seem to stop them from running though. But the faster Pokemon was soon running past them and landing in front of them. The group stopped as Blue Demon landed with one knee and slowly revealed his face from behind his wing. The challenge between two proud fighting species had been issued.

Hawlucha stood up and spread his wings, challening any of them to fight him straight on!

Meanwhile, Reina kept running in the same direction her Hawlucha had ran off to. But, struggling now more because of the extra kilos in her arm. "Come on, Flor!" She stopped to catch her breath, letting the Bulbasaur down. "I need you to keep up."

Flor looked up with a smile and began skipping ahead. Reina groaned, knowing that she was going to take a while to catch up and hoped that Blue Demon managed to find her friend.

James Argentston, Hau'oli City, Alola, July 22th. Arrival to Alola.

James's plane had just landed in Hau'oli City, Alola. It was a mess getting out of the plane, and being immediately flocked by random girls and some boys. The young Hoennian-Unovan male had been a bit overwhelmed, as suddenly, Pichu's Pokéball opened. The Pichu looked around the area, and pointed with his tale. James then followed the Pichu, preparing to get out of the Airport. When he got out of the airport. He looked around to see the view. As such, so many buildings, that all abruptly end at a street on his left. Beyond the street was a beach.

"This is Hau'oli City, amazing, I've heard stories of this place, but this is my first time here," James whispered.

He and Pichu looked around the city for a bit, attempting to find the Pokémon Center. He found a map, though, giving him an idea of where the Pokémon center. As such, he followed the road, at least Gold wasn't out. That would bring more attention. He then found the Pokémon Center after twenty minutes of running around the city.

"There's the Pokémon Center, Pichu!"

"Pi chu!"

He arrived in the Pokémon Center, and immediately made a bee line for the Phones. He made a call. A red haired girl and a Larvitar and Numel sitting with her had answered the call. Larvitar jumped up and down excitedly as Numel looked at James. Suddenly, Pichu sat down, with the most wicked smile that a Pichu could give.

"Hi, James!"

"Arabella," James was surprised she even called, "How are things your end?"

"Other than members of the Goomy Line sliming up the ship, good."

Arabella motioned to the rest of the ship, where there were Goomy climbing about, confusedly, and suddenly a Dragon Breath fired from one of them in a panic, straight at Arabella.

"Arabella!?" James was worried.

"I'm fine, Numel saw what was coming and used Protect in front of me."

James was relieved at Arabella's words.

"I just got news of the first Contest, In Heahea City on August Fifth, if you happen to be on Akala Island that day, you could watch, if you're Able."

"I'll be on Akala Island on August Sixth, we can talk in person after that." Arabella responded, "See you on the sixth, cutie!"

"See you then, Arabella," James blushed a bit.

James then hung up, only for another phone Call to come across. This one being his mother.

"Hi mom," James answered.

"Oh, hello, James, I was just checking in to see if you made it into Hau'oli City."

"I did, sorry if I didn't get your call immediately, Arabella called just as I Arrived at the Phone Screen." James continued.

"Aww, how sweet, your girlfriend called!"

James then blushed a bit, then looked at the screen. Pichu was sitting in James's lap, looking at his trainer's mom with the most wicked smile a Pichu could muster. The woman gave the Pichu a surprised look.

"Mom! She's not my girlfriend!" James flushed red.

The woman started laughing uncontrollably, alongside Pichu. James looked down, then back at the woman, then facepalmed.

"Mom, I have to prepare for the first Contest, It's on the fifth of August in Heahea City."

"I understand, have a good day!"

"I'll try, Mom,"

The line then cut off, and James looked at his Pokéballs, holding Quackers's Pokéball.

"Alright, I am using Gator for the appeal, and if I get to the battles, Quackers."

James then started writing notes for an Appeal.

August 5th, Friday. Heahea City, Alola.

As G walked on to the port fo the famous tourist attraction, Heahea City, she looked around the new region. The air was fresh, the people around were happy, Pokemon moved around naturally, the smell of sea food mixed with some delicious sweets, the sun bright in the sky, the colorful plants, the sun, the smiles on everyone's faces, the sun, the sound of the waves hitting the port, the damn sun, the never ending ocean and sky...

"It's so hot here!" G cried out, getting mixed reactions from the people around her. Her Vulpix followed up with a whimper. "Seriously, can we like drop some Rain Dance for a bit? Ugh, it's going to be annoying."

G took out her neon blue Rotomphone and sent a picture of her boat docked, to Altair. -We're here, hope you're okay!-

Once she had informed her bestie, he didn't know yet, G and Vanilla the Vulpix began walking into town. At first they were excited to visit the region Vanilla was supposed to be from, but it seemed there was no natural conection. In fact, the ice fairy felt way better back in Sinnoh, where the temperture was cool and the sun wasn't on your ass 24/7. To make it worse, mosquitos!

G slapped the annoying bug away from her Vulpix. "Let's just get to the contest hall, should be a lot cooler there." At least that was her plan, until she heard her name...

"Hey, it's G!"

"Get ready, Vanilla." G whispered as she turned to the origin of the voice. Sure enough, there were was a group of teenagers heading her way. Traveling through Sinnoh had been easy, due to a lot of its cities and towns weren't focused on attracting tourist and G barely spending time in them. But, she had to make an annoucenemt in her social media for her first contest, reason why she left gaming, so naturally her fans followed. G adjusted her hat, sunglasses and dress with a big smile as she was approached. Like usual, most of the ones in the group were boys. She signed their notebooks quickly, took selfies with them and even answered the typical questions.

"I love Alola, it's beautiful."

"Right now, Bubble Gum Ice Cream is my favorite."

"Vanilla doesn't like being petted by strangers, sorry!"

"I do plan on participating on the next League of Legends tournament."

"I do plan to win my first contest, we need to start strong!"

"I'm sorry I am not looking to date anyone right now."

Once the group had their fill, G excused herself and left in a hurry. She had learned that once you get swarmed once, more will follow as the word would spread. As she followed the directions from her Rotomphone, G got closer and closer to the contest hall. Her hopes for cool air and no moist grew and grew until her icy blue eyes set on the destination. "What the hell is this?!"

G groaned as she ready the welcome sign. "This is it?! We're doing the contest outside?!" She could feel the tears forming in her eyes. "Whatever. Let's do this."

The gamer girl walked in, already scouting her competition. She knew her Pokemon weren't that strong, but today it wasn't about raw power, it was about being smart and looking better than anyone else. She found a small shade next to a tree and settled down under it. Her eyes looking around at possible participants and anyone who could put her team in danger.

James had been busy the past two weeks, writing and teaching his appeal to Gator, his Turtonator, when he was on land. However, during that time, he had found a strange encounter, a Rowlet, who was seemingly left there. James had helped the Rowlet when he landed on the boat unexpectedly. During the trip, he managed to get the Rowlet recovered and the Pokémon joined his team. He nicknamed it Robin Hood, and continued his plan to teach the Appeal to Gator.

The day of the Contest had arrived, and he was slightly nervous. As he arrived at the site, which was a huge park, almost like the Safari Zone back home in Hoenn. He then took a look around before sending a text to his parents, and Arabella. When he arrived at the specified location, he already was scouting the competition, which was an interesting sight, his Pichu was sitting on his Shoulder, he then ran down towards a Pokéball, and was contemplating something.

"Pichu, what are you doing? That's Gold's Pokéball."

Pichu then ran back up to his Shoulder, now seeing what James had seen, wide eyed with Excitement.

"It's Gator's Turn to Appeal, and Quackers will be battling if this Contest is not set. I'll get you in next Contest."

The Pichu's eyes lit up, and looked around the area.

"The Contest is outside? This is interesting, I'm Used to this, living in a somewhat tropical island has prepared me for this. But this may be interesting for those not native, or myself. This may lie in how they deal with the climate."

James then kept an eye on the competition, seeing the most noticeably, a black haired girl, with the areas visible behind her head being neon Blue. There was an Alolan Vulpix nearby, probably her Pokémon. James kept a look out for anyone else that may be dangerous, but no one else stood out.

"The appeal stage will be starting soon, participants, please proceed to your designated area. I repeat, the appeal stage will be starting soon, participants, please proceed to your designated area."

G looked up at the speakers on some post announcing the beginning of the event. She stood up and looked down at Vanilla, "Ready to go live?"

"Hello there everyone out there waiting for the first or second? Should we count the one at Hearthome? Hmmmm, you decide! Leave it on the comments!" G smiled brightly as she walked ahead with her Rotomphone recording her. "Today we are aiming for the 1st spot in the Alolan Circuit! First stop, Heahea contest! Here we are, walking into the locker rooms before we take the stage. First I need to go change, thanks for all of you who voted on my first contest outfit! I will pause the stream while I get ready, see you all on the other side!"

G smiled until the stream went into a be right back status. She felt the stares on her as the locker room turned to see who was the one causing the commotion. But, she was a bit used to it. She bowed her head slightly to excuse herself and proceeded to go change. Once she was into her new outfit, she walked over to were the other participants were gathered. "Okay Vanilla, we're going to look absolutely adorable out there. Are you ready?"

The Alolan Vulpix replied with a bark and a wiggle of her tails. "That's the spirit." G let her Rotomphone out, allowing the stream to continue. She smiled and winked at the camara and waved to her viewers. Then, she turned her attention to the event, ready for her debut.

As James heard the Call to designated areas, he headed over to see the area, and prepare for the contest. When he got there, he returned his Pichu, and got dressed. He was lucky he had this suit made of light materials before he got here. As he finished, he grabbed Gator's Pokéball, and prepared for entry.

"I hope Arabella can see one of these soon."

As he prepared to arrive, Gator's Pokéball opened, looking at his trainer. The Turtonator gave his trainer determined look. Quackers popped out to give James a bit of a calming presence.

"Let's do this, Quackers, I'll have you up in a bit."

Quackers hopped back in his Pokéball as James prepared to see his Appeal, he went over the plan one more time in his head. He then stepped out, with his Turtonator. He then took a deep breath, as Gator steeled himself.

"This will be an interesting one, for sure."

G appeal.

Repeat.

G's mind kept going over the rhythm in her head as she watched others step in to perform. The screen in the lockers allowed the rest of them to watch the competition. They were good. Better than she had hoped for. If she was to stand a chance, they would need to nail every move perfectly.

“Next up, this person asked to use only their stage name, so please welcome, G!”

The gamer took a deep breath and smiled. She walked out onto the field, the sun being brighter than she liked and the warm air making her feel stuffier than normal.

G and Vanilla walked to the center. G placed her hands on her hips and put her feet together. Vanilla jumped in front of her and puffed her chest up.

“Whenever you're ready, miss.” One of the judges said.

G nodded and pointed at the sky with her right hand. “Let's do this, Vanilla! Time to chill!”

The Alolan Vulpix spread her tails and lifted her head. A light toned howl escaped her as Icy Wind shot into the sky. The chilly air swirled around into the sky and slowly began to turn into snowflakes thanks to Powder Snow. G nodded and then placed her right hand to her chin in a doubtful expression.

“Hmmmm Alola is now cooler and beautiful. But it's missing something…”

Vulpix stopped her attack and tilted her head to the side, as if confused.

“We need more colors!” G stretched her arms out.

Vanilla jumped on her fours, spread her tails once more and pointed her snout upwards. She opened her jaw to let out a colorful beam that smashed with the small snow storm being created above. The impacted cause the Aurora Beam to spread through the air and sent colorful waves of snowflakes around G and her partner. The sun of Alola helped a bit, allowing the frozen bits to shine a bit more but also worked against them as the snow quickly began to melt on the ground around them. But, G had thought about that.

As she watched the icy wind and powder snow quickly start to land on the ground, she decided to connect them. "Vanilla, ice ring!"

The Alolan Vulpix yipped joyfully and started running around G, using her Icy Wind once more to freeze the ground around them. G at the same time twirled in rhythm with her partner. After three turns, Vanilla jumped on to G's arms as the gamer jumped into the icy ring and began sliding along it. After a turn of waving and smiling, they jumped back into the dry center.

"Thank you!"

Silas wasn't sure what he was doing here.

He had registered for the Island Challenge, gotten the amulet that signifies he was on it, but here he was. Procrastinating on challenging his first Totem Battle, inside Verdant Cavern. He was... He was...

He was scared.

Sure, he hid it well. No one in this crowd of people would look at the teenager currently playing tug-a-war with a Gabite that could very easily bite his hand off, and think they were afraid of challenging a Totem Pokemon. Mostly because those two things had nothing to do with each other, but still!

Silas sighed, and looked at Cadmus the Gabite, his first partner, who was currently demolishing the rope toy the two had been playing with. As soon as Cadmus noticed Silas staring at him, he froze, and his eyes became pleading.

"Nice try. We're still going to have to replace that." Silas said, exasperated. Cadmus let out a whine. "No, you destroyed it! Look at it, it's in shreds! If you want to keep getting attached to every single toy I get you within the first 5 seconds, try not to destroy it in the same amount of time!"

Cadmus placed the toy down on the ground, and laid down on top of it, preventing Silas from accessing the toy. Silas sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. Why did he put up with this little shit again?

“Next up, this person asked to use only their stage name, so please welcome, G!”

Silas and Cadmus heard the announcer speaking, and the two of them looked up to see a black and neon blue haired girl walk on stage alongside an Alolan Vulpix.

“Let's do this, Vanilla! Time to chill!”

What followed was a beautiful display of mastery over ice, that, unfortunately, made the area a bit chilly. Cadmus did not like the cold, retreating inside his pokeball, allowing Silas to finally grab the toy the two had been fighting over, and toss it in a nearby wastebin.

"Ah, Aerial Ace-" Vinno looked on as the Hawlucha moved, using the highly accurate flying-type attack on the Crabrawlers. It wasn't the strongest attack due to its accuracy, but it was enough to ward off a number of the weaker wild Pokemon that commonly traveled in groups. The Swadloon wrapped itself tightly in its leaves as the attack happened, as although she is quite defensive for a non-fully evolved Pokemon, and even had an eviolite inside of her leafy bundle, a quadruple effective move being used right beside it still intimidated the creature quite a bit. Although the group has thinned and spread out a bit, a few of the crab Pokemon knocked out, the ones that carried the Swadloon off were still scurrying along the path.

"Uhh, thanks!" Looking at the Hawlucha, Vinno tried to think for a bit, what type of moves would a Hawlucha know, or better yet, what type of moves would a trainer like Reina teach her Pokemon?

"Do you know any moves that can stop them?" She looked over and asked the fighting type. "Or maybe...not make them run away...Ah, do you even understand me, I'm not your trainer..." She sighed tiredly. "Feather Dance? Or maybe Grass Knot? Maybe we can try to rush ahead and Quick Guard- Ugh...those aren't common moves though, too many flying-type attacks would scare Hikii too much..." Vinno muttered with a troubled look on her face.

"Let's try to switch to fighting-type moves, they're still effective on the Crabrawlers, but Hikii is resistant to them. She has her eviolite, she'll be okay as long as we can get her back." Vinno looked over to the Hawlucha again and nodded before her Gengar finally caught up, even while levitating in the air it looked rather exhausted. "If you don't understand what I'm saying, let's just be an example, Pulitz! Focus Blast!"

Pointing to the Crabrawler, the trainer orders her Gengar to use Focus Blast on the swarm of crab Pokemon. The ghost-type nodded and pushed its glasses slightly before generating a sphere of energy above its head, and sending the sphere towards the wild Pokemon. The ball of energy slowly drifted towards the...moving Crabrawlers.

And it missed.

"Yeah, shouldn't have expected that to work. Let's just keep running." Vinno sighed and rubbed her forehead a few times, before continuing her steps behind the wild Pokemon.

James Argentston, Heahea City, Alola, August 5th. "Gator! Showtime!"

James had been preparing, as he and his Turtonator went over things one final time. He then stepped to the stage and prepared.

"Now give it up for James Argentston!"

James stepped forward, preparing a particular Pokéball, and had it ready.

"Gator! Showtime!"

The Fire and Dragon Type appeared in the middle of the stage, with a determined look. James then gave a similar look.

"Just like we practiced, Open up with Scale Shot!"

As Gator fired the Scales, several Scales were shot straight into the air, seemingly raining down on Gator. James hand planned for them to do so and knew his command. He gave Gator a look.

"Brutal Swing, get those scales Moving!"

As James looked on, he saw what Gator was going to do. Gator then threw its arms around sending a swirl of Dark energy to catch the scales and spin them around. As such, the scales collided with each other inside of the Brutal Swing, giving James the cue to give his next move.

"Now, Gator, Let the Brutal Swing Loose and give it a coating of Venoshock!"

The moment Gator started letting the Brutal Swing loose, his mouth coated in venom, letting that mix into the spinning dark scale energy to give it one last thing. As it rose up a bit from Gator, it spun there, as James made his Final move.

"Gator, set it off with a Dragon Pulse."

As James gave his final move, a ray of Dragon energy headed straight towards the Spinning poisoned scales. When the Dragon Pulse hit the epicenter of the spinning attack, the Dragon Pulse destabilized the spinning scaled mass and set itself off, placing the scales around Gator, and letting everything else dissipate peacefully.

  “Welcome back folks, hope you enjoyed that little break! After a rousing round of morning appeals, eight Coordinators have advanced and earned themselves a shot at the Heahea Ribbon! I’m your Contest Master, Chairtarō and please welcome coordinators G & Miriëlle!”
  
  The crowd erupted in cheers and the contest master highlighted two trainer boxes that been drawn into a grassy field. “The battle will last for 5 minutes and ends when time runs out, a contestant’s points are depleted, or their Pokémon is knocked out.”
  
  “Coordinators, are you ready?”
  
  “Begin!”
  
  Miriëlle was a tall woman of fair complexion. Her skin glistened with a miserable sheen of sweat; the heat of the Alola Sun and the weight of her dress worked double duty to swelter the Sinnoh born. Filled with an unspeakable menace, Mirëlle sized up her opponents with ill-intent. Quick and brutal, that’s how she wanted to play this—the faster the better.
  
  The deep purple of her dress set a dark backdrop against which an array of gemstones sparkled like stars; the dress mirrored the crystal laden environment of her her partner Pokémon—“ Glimmet, it’s sparkle time!” Her eyes narrower and her lips curved into a grin as she took the lead in sending out her Pokémon. She would spare no mercy. “Welcome them a purple carpet! Toxic Spikes!”
  
  The poison ore Pokémon emerged from its Pokémon with a twinkle and a twankle, discharging toxic debris that coated the battlefield. The surrounding grasses began to wilt and sizzle as the corrosive poison settled in and Miriëlle leaned back with a pleased smile.

G took in a deep breath. The fact that she had made it so far was great, but now she was facing whatever that weird poison Pokemon was. Usually, she would battle with Biscuit or Banana, since they were the ones who needed it the most. But, in this situation, she would go for her cool selection, Spicy. "Show them your stuff, Spicy!"

The Poke Ball opened up in the air and the Sneasel did the typical superhero landing before standing straight and crossing her arms. The Toxic Spikes landed around their side of the field, but G wasn't too sure how to deal with that. Instead, she would focus on keeping the battle going. "Time to show them the awesomeness of Snowpoint! Badass Icy Shower!"

Both G and Spicy pulled out a pair of sunglasses from behind them. G popped them on and crossed her arms over her chest, leaning forward a bit. While the Sneasel did a whole show. Spicy placed the Dark Glasses on and then held out her paws as if they were machine guns. The Sneasel then fired Ice Shards into the air. The pointy projectlies all crashed into each other over the battlefield and began to fall like needles towards their opponent. While the shower of icy needles fell, Spicy held out one paw aimed at her opponent and Taunt for them to attack.

July 27th, Melemele Island, Route 2, Reina Amaranta Esmeralda de la Santa Cruz Caballero Cortez, Rank 29,574. Team: Hawlucha Blue Demon, Bulbasaur Flora.

Blue Demon knew all too well what a fighting move was. His eyes followed how Gengar's attempt at one missed. But he understood, with a loud squak and a nod he rushed ahead once more. He was allowed to attack as long as they dropped the bug basically. He knew exactly what to do.

The Hawlucha rushed into the group, a green glow in his eyes activating. Detect, allowed him to swerved between the threatening groups and directly to his target. He extended his claws, crouched and went for Submission!

Meanwhile Reina tried to catch her breath. The Bulbasaur didn't seem at all too tired, she actually seemed to be enjoying the run. Reina though was losing sight of their location. "Sorry Bulbasaur, but I need to move faster." Reina returned the smiling bulb Pokemon and took in another big breath. "I'm coming!" She called out before breaking into a sprint once more.

  Icy Shower? What was that?
  
  Code names always drew some wariness from Mirielle and so she waited a beat as her opponent...took out sunglasses? Mirielle couldn't stop a smirk from quirking her lips, the command was on the tip of her tongue almost before she had time to process it. "Rock Polish!"
  
  G's Ice Shower would be difficult to dodge, but Mirielle and Glimmet didn't plan to. The corrosion ore pokémon spun in place, grinding the scattered debris against its body to polish its rocky surface to a shiny finish. After all, their opponent had donned some shade, it was only polite that they give them some dazzle.
  
  The Alola sun reflected off Glimmet's polished body, then off the fragments of ice as they rained down. Although Glimmet was being hit, the fragmented ice shards looks like little gem stones that granted the poison type a sparkling aura.
  
  "And pose!"
  
  Both trainer and Pokémon struck a pose, heads held high. Despite being bombarded with attacks, they looked magnificent and dazzling—so dazzling that their opponents had been forced to wear sunglasses just to look at them. The order of events was off, but the final product remained—Glimmet and Mirielle dazzled with the refracted light of rock polish, while G and Spicy looked on with what must've been awe and envy behind their shades.
  
  This was how you took damage in style!
  
  They wouldn't be able to do this again after that Taunt, but this was a strong start.

"Hmph!" G crossed her arms over her chest, keeping that tough act. "Contest are not only about glowing and looking pretty!"

"Spicy, let's show them our knife show."

Sneasel held up her arms over her chest in an X form. Her claws gained a metallic color, shining along with the sun beaming down on them and Spicy's smirk added to the coolness of her looks. The ice dark type then dashed ahead, using Quick Attack to move before her opponent. Except she didn't go directly into Glimmet. She appeared to its right, then moved again and landed to its left, then behhind it, then moved to a diagonal position and then across from that point. She began moving in those odd directions until the glow of her claws and the energy began to leave a trail, marking a star on the field and leaving Glimmet in the middle. Once her drawing was clear, Spicy used Quick Attack once more to dash directly at her enemy. Her claws extended to the sides and ready to Metal Claw the rock type!

"Submission? Are you really going to use that after-" Vinno saw the fighting flying type Pokemon move, speaking about it the...less than stellar (not the terastallization kind) accuracy of the move it chose to use, especially after the little blunder (the policy kind) with Focus Blast earlier, her confidence in accuracy was at an all-time low. But it seems like that games of chance eventually would level out, with the usage of Detect protecting and helping it to go on the offence, Hawlucha managed to strike the Crabrawler that carried off Swadloon, as the bug Pokemon was hurled through the air after the wild Pokemon carrying it.

"Hiiki! Protect!" Vinno shouted. Although the Swadloon was far from a real battling Pokemon, the species was one of the Pokemon lines that learned protect naturally upon their evolution, a trait for Pokemon that had strong defensive instincts, it was possible that it would've used Protect on its own even without the trainer's reminder in such a situation.

A light green ball was what fell out of the sky, with the wrapped up bug Pokemon inside. The few wild Crabrawler that lingered behind tapped the protective barrier with their punching pinchers, but it was to no avail.

"Kewah-" The cry of what sounded like a bird Pokemon can be heard from the skies, as Talonflame swooped down and landed beside her trainer and teammates. Vinno glanced over at the bird Pokemon with a nod. "Atria, Brave Bird them, now!"

With the looming assault of two flying-type Pokemon, the Crabrawlers decided to retreat further into the forest. As the tide of crabs retreated, VInno let out a sigh of relief and walked over to pick up the Swadloon that was planted on the ground. The Pokemon's face was as unamused as ever. "Thanks. But still......where's your trainer?" She looked down at the Hawlucha, it was undeniably the Hawlucha from the girl before, Vinno didn't know many Hawluchas who knew Detect and Submission at the same time.

Another voice can be heard from beyond the trees, it was one that Vinno had heard before. She turned around with the Swadloon in her arms, considering returning the bug to its Pokeball. "Reina? Is that you?" She shouted in the direction of the voice.

"Did you send your Pokemon here?" Vinno asked after the girl got closer, noticing that she had the Bulbasaur from before with her. "Thanks for that, I didn't have my Talonflame with me, and there were too many moving too fast for special attacks to handle...They're not exactly...battling Pokemon." She sighed slightly again as both her Pokemon tilted their heads curiously.
