Opinion Pet Peeves

Mmmmmmmm, I have several.
Hypocrisy. This mainly stems from my older brother being an intense hypocrite, but nowadays when I see it I just get angry. I even get mad writing hypocrisies within my characters.
I also seriously can't stand misinformation or demeaning opinions about Autism, not all of us are low-functioning.
The guys in my house don't put the toilet seat down either, I don't know why but it just bothers me. It's not even the middle one either, I get mad when they don't put down the one on the top xD
Arrogance also bothers me on an entirely new level, again stemming from my older brother.
And if people interrupt me when I'm trying to talk there is literally always a passive-aggressive remark to follow.

In my seminar class freshman year (round table discussion style), one time before I even knew it I said "does the middle of my sentence mark the beginning of yours?" to someone lol, but they didn't seem to hold a grudge lol, they got better about it. I've almost said it more often to various people but stopped myself.

My main pet peeve is when someone either speaks too loudly or barely audible. It drives me insane! My second one is almost like it - barely touching. I can't handle that. This also includes barely tapping my back - either do it or don't, but do not barely do it.

I just want the whole world to go quiet when I go to bed. Completely dark. No sound of the vent. No sound of the computer. I'm a really sensitive sleeper. I hate it and my parents hate it. The only thing at home that gets away with making noise is my cat.

And when I request that everyone be quiet earlier than usual because I have to wake up especially early for something the next day and they still end up being noisy/walk around/shower/participate in other various activities that make noise. Out of a family of heavy-sleepers, I'm the one person who got screwed over; I literally wake up at the sound of an alarm in someone else's room. I know my family hates it, but I swear, it's a lot more frustrating for me than it is for everyone else. Like it makes it damn-near impossible to sleep at hotels, other peoples' houses, etc. because there aren't many people who are as sensitive to noise and light as I am.

Biting insects are a pisser that make a top peeve for me. I am not even eating things taken from animals. But biting insects will still plague me. And people smoking who don't care if their smoke reaches me or anyone. I have a lung issue though I was not a smoker, but smoke from them would be critical to my lifespan. Worst case is this guy riding his bike. He smokes while doing this !!! and he passes me where I am walking so I go on in his trail of smoke where I can't avoid it.

I also try to become better as a person, constantly, but what of those who won't ever give another chance after something from me bothered them already?

I have more, for a list, but I might just stop with these.

I should yet say it is a real peeve when any have been pushing a food on me that I really do not want to have. There are different cases of that, but it has been especially the case of mushrooms. We who do not want mushrooms in any food for us should be recognized and respected enough to not make it seem like we should be accepting of it, or even scraping mushrooms out of the meal ourselves. They should not have been in there! They will leave their taste, which we do not like.

Well, I stopped eating out, that was just one of several reasons, and I make my own food, and my meals are all very nice now, and I am happy with having them.

I can't leave out the stupid time changing with the clocks. This really cannot just be me! It must be what others seeing this thread notice. It is not serving anyone (not even the farmers as there is the myth for a claim of), but just those who get profit earlier from changing the time for everyone else with such ease. It is known that society will go along with anything. Look at us going along with taxes far more that those in Boston that threw imported tea overboard in the Boston Tea Party that ignited the American Revolution. Who are we compared with them? There is such complete trust of political leaders, people follow along like sheep. There are problems with the clock switching, there is no benefit worth the troubles with it. It was not right to let those profiting a little earlier with our loss of an hour do that, what hour we "get back" is only four 4 months before changing to then lose it.

Yes, the oppressive state is a peeve too. I think it better to manage ourselves including how we can get along with some others. We should not be with others who we can't do that with. We do not need big communities so much.

The trend. The Trend. It is happening in this country. We cannot have a good leader. It comes to what most think is best of what choice we get is the convicted criminal. We have a future of tightening control, less choices economically, and expanding control over more lands acquired as territory just as anything would that is becoming an empire. We may have a despot.

Don't you just loooove it whenever somebody tells you that there are no stupid questions and that you can feel free to ask them anything? Only when you do they do a complete one eighty and yell at you, scream at you, and just make you feel like a complete idiot for daring to ask them something?

Yeah that happened to me at my work when I first started. So like it was only maybe my second or third week and my co worker tells me all of this when she noticed that I wasn't really asking questions as a way to get me out of my shell I guess. So the very next day I ask her about something and then she yells at me and makes me feel inept for asking. Naturally, I was left feeling very confused since she just contradicted herself. But I was just like, "fine if that's how you are going to be about it. I won't ask you anything ever again. I'll just ask someone else. So much for what you told me yesterday." And yeah I told her that and yes that was the first and last time I ever asked her anything. I don't like being stepped on. She didn't stay much longer either. She was either fired or quit. I dunno which. But because of her and others like her I have trouble asking people anything because I keep thinking if I do I'll be yelled at and made to feel inferior.

I do not like it when asked to submit a sample of my writing, for a roleplay request, and when I do it is rejected, because the writing is not good enough. I am a writer. I have some writing published. And I regularly post samples of my writing. I expect feedback for anything lacking in my writing with showing the samples. But I do not get the helpful criticism that I might write better. A few tell me they enjoy it, and say nothing more. But for this, my writing is not good enough. There is no helpful tip to write it any better, though, with that.

People who make jokes about names should be thrown away.

Yes, we've heard every pun or joke about our names before, it's not funny. It possibly never was funny, but you're not original and you're definitely not making me laugh. I didn't get to choose my name, you didn't get to choose yours, and that won't change unless we go out and pay the government to change it. Same deal with non-funny retail "jokes". I was a cashier and I've heard them all before. No, it's not appropriate to say "I have one at home" when asking you if you want a bag (hahaha, so funny, I hate my wife jokes!) or "if it doesn't scan, I guess it's free". No. Shut up. You are not funny. You are tiresome and I want you to go away ASAP, but I'm stuck here, so all I can do is laugh awkwardly until you leave.

These are two of my prevalent pet peeves at the moment.

I have a name people make fun of.

Can you tell?

This is being posted from a brand new phone I got just now, this is the very first thing I am doing with it, logging in here and posting this. It isn't cheap. It is one I only needed because a phone I treated well and never exposed to anything that would harm it nor just dropped it stopped working for me within a couple of years. Why do they not just make phones now that can last longer than that? They are overly exploiting us while we have dependence on our phones! They are built so as to not last for a decent duration.

Does anyone else have posts they wrote be deleted? I do have that happen, and it is specifically this forum site, and I hate that. Maybe for being a little late to respond, but still. No other forums do I have that happening, not even where I am in roleplaying there. I believe it should not even be enabled here, nothing is gained except maybe a power trip to some. I do post for roleplay to start and if roleplay with me was not desired by the OP my response might interest someone else if not deleted. But with their power trip they may say to themselves, we can't have that happen. I hate it and I wish it was not permitted to continue.

I keep seeing this more and more often and every time I encounter it it annoys me more.

People who need to make everything a joke, everything a reference, every interruption a punch line. Every time they try to say something it needs to be an attempt to be funny and if you bring up any topic that has the slightest shred of seriousness they blow it off with a joke. All the worse when they just make outrage bait, trolling attempts or edgy jokes. People who are entirely incapable of having a serious conversation.

What stuns me even more is that the last person I encountered that was like this was 34. 34 years of age, married and had a full time job but still acted like high schooler desperate to be liked.

There are some who gaslight and you know what they do! They accuse you... it is your fault, you are gaslighting! Such doing that are ones to avoid, if possible, and to leave behind.

When people pretend their extremely normal, widely accepted opinions are unpopular because they spend too much time online.

I look to start with roleplaying in anything with looking for interest check threads. I would like roleplaying in the Isekai Hell forum, but they do not have interest check threads, so I do not start up in threads there where I would because I do not see ones I would choose when they start. It would not be a problem then if they did have interest check threads.

People who are loud. I'm not talking about people who speak loudly, but people who have no clue how to eat, close a door, etc., quietly. Especially in the morning when I'm trying to sleep arughh

There are those who are neighbors who are so annoying. One close by is going by where I stay, back and forth through the day. He has nowhere else he goes to all day, every day, and he snorts, very audibly, over and over. And there are those right above me, with their laundry machines right over where I sleep, and almost every day their laundry machines are running, and running, load right after another load, even ten times through the day, all day, into the evening, until I collapse and sleep. They just do not stop running their laundry machines, the washer and the dryer. This is besides the loud barking dogs, the sirens, the long trains with their horns blowing, and the planes flying right overhead. I have nearly had it with being in a city with people right around.

Every book I pick up is in first person. First person is not entirely off my list but I honestly don’t feel like I can get a clear picture of the character where I could with third person. I’m not knocking first, it’s just every time I read a decent synopsis I feel a little disappointed when it’s first person.
