Persona: Invoke

"Right..." Minato adjusted his glasses. "If it's at all possible, I'd like to get to it right away, if nobody else has anything going on."

Tsuna left his classroom, fully satisfied that he now had confirmation on the identities of the other two key holders. His mind lingered on one phrase Chigusa had said during his conversation with her. "Awaken it? What could she possibly mean by 'it'?" Tsuna thought to himself as he twisted and turned his body to avoid bumping into someone in the crowded hallways. "My only hope of figuring this out is to just hang out with Chigusa and... Minato, I think was the other name she mentioned..."

Chigusa gave the proposal some thought. She had no club activities today and homework seemed to be pretty easy to handle overall. A nod compromised her agreement as to make haste of their matters. Now they just needed Tsuna's take on it...

As Tsuna walked, he continued thinking of potential theories about what Chigusa was talking about when she meant "it," not even noticing the girl in question as he walked right past her.

"There's so many possibilities. I can definitely rule out any lewd suggestions, Chigusa doesn't give off that type of impression. That leaves quite a few things... Awakening 'it'... It could be some hidden talent or power that only those with the keys have... Perhaps the ability to traverse freely between any given building? No, that seems too weird... Then what could it be...?"

"Tsuna...!" A hand caught the boy's shoulder, grasping it so it could prevent him from advancing any further on his path. Chigusa could not help herself from pouting ever so slightly at this somewhat repetition of recent events. But she promptly sighed, relaxing her body and features, moving past such things. The first-year dragged him over where Minato was, on a whim to not waste any more time. "Tsuna, Minato. Minato, Tsuna." With that, she faced the newcomer with a hopeful smile. "The investigation will take place just a few streets away from here. Minato had the idea to take care of this as fast as possible. Can you make it? Right now?"

Tsuna was brought out of his train of thought by the odd feeling of Chigusa holding him by the shoulder. Slightly shocked due to Chigusa suddenly grabbing him, he jerked his head towards her, and she had his full attention. After a brief introduction to the other key holder, Minato, Tsuna listens on their plan.

"An investigation a few streets away? As soon as possible, huh? Hm..." "I guess this'll move things along quickly, how amazingly coincidental that all the blocks are falling into place just for me. I bet that this'll be the easiest this can possibly get. Once I've awakened whatever Chigusa means by 'it,' things are only gonna get harder..." "I'm available. I've got nothing to do after school."

"Great." Minato said plainly, immediately stepping forward and heading towards the Shopping District, putting a hand in his pocket. "Let's go."

"Lovely," Tsuna replied stoically, following Minato without hesitation and keeping to himself. He could tell Minato wasn't the type to make conversation and enjoy it, so he simply put on his headphones and played music while we walked alongside his fellow student. Putting his hands in his pockets, Tsuna gazed dead ahead at where they were going, his cynical views returning to him once more.

Ohh, boy... A sense of dread crossed the girl's mind as she picked up the pace to accompany her companions for this investigation. Well, I guess dealing with...difficult personalities may prove to be good for my mental growth. And my patience. Positive thinking, Chigusa, positive thinking!

It didn't take long after to reach Tatsuhime Shrine with Minato leading the way. He made his way up the steps and deeper into the shrine, coming to a stop in front of the torii containing the portal to the other world within.

"This is it?" Tsuna questioned the leader of the group. "What's so special about this shrine?"

After several brief glances, Tsuna couldn't find any other unique aspects to the shrine, though he did notice something strange about the torii.

"Follow us in." Minato said back at Tsuna, before boldly stepping forward into the portal, disappearing from sight.

"He just-" Tsuna just stared at awe at what just happened. "Okay, he just disappeared into a random portal leading to Heaven knows what... I've got nowhere else to go... Follow the leader, then."

Tsuna briskly walked towards the portal before running straight through it and appearing on the other side.

It didn't take long for Chigusa to follow suit to the boy's lead. She figured it was best for Tsuna to take it upon himself to do this, rather than just babble her way through to him. Once inside the intricate dimension, she closed her eyes, focusing solely on conjuring her card. "I'll see what lies beyond us." She announced before a Tarot card bathed in blue light appeared before her palm and she crushed it with both her hands. Tamamo-no-Mae made her appearance, as times before, embracing Chigusa lovingly before allowing her to perceive what others could not through her mirrors. "This is my 'it', Tsuna." She paused, smiling proudly. "My Persona." With that she began to scan the area, touching one of her mirrors with her palm.

"...Enemies ahead." She started off saying, as if to advise Minato to stay sharp. "They're different from the ones you battled before. And...the dimension seems to have changed?" Its paths, its obstacles, yes, new mysteries lied beyond this room.

"Dimensions changed?" Minato asked, a bit puzzled by that. "What, this place is different than before? Can you tell if there's an end to the path?"

"The way to the end seemed to have suffered changes... At least, from what I can recall from last night, that is." It was as if this dimension was a being of its own... "But yes, I can. Tamamo-no-Mae allows me to communicate with you so I'll guide you through it..." Chigusa could not bring herself to confess her decision to stay behind, probably how reluctant she was to do so. But her Persona could not fight, leaving her presence out there to be no more than a nuisance. Here, she was safe, providing the support her companions needed.

"Alright. I'll lead... him in." Minato said, pointing to Tsuna, as he had already forgotten his name.

"Tsuna." Chigusa corrected him, sounding not at all surprised to witness Minato do such a thing. But she promptly sighed, adopting a more amiable attitude. "Good luck, you two. Stay safe."

Minato wordlessly gestured for Tsuna to follow him, taking the left path as before, not feeling quite comfortable enough with this place to be any more adventurous, as curious as he may have been.

Tsuna silently followed Minato, trusting the man with more experience in this to guide him."A Persona? That's what it is? Sweet! Not only am I getting an adventure, I'm getting a superpower to accompany it! This oughta be some fun!" Tsuna immediately conjured in his thoughts while he followed Minato.

"Do you have a name for this place yet?"

"A... what?" Minato looked back to Tsuna as we walked. "What would we even name it? This is... just a different world, or something..."

Minato really didn't know what this place was, and so didn't feel right in giving it an actual name. "The Other World" would suffice.

"Usually, in games, they give alternate dimensions a name." Tsuna justified. "It's fine if you don't have one yet. Let's just deal with whatever we've gotta do here."

In... games? What the hell was wrong with this kid?

"What are you talking about?" Minato sighed. "This isn't a game."
