Fandom Persona - Black Garden

Emile continued his walk to school and saw Makoto. He was about to shout his name when he saw a girl with him. Makoto is talking to a girl?! This can't be right, what should I do... "Hmmm" Emile hid and just stared at Makoto intensely just to use it as ammunition to mess with him.

She frowned a bit at the boys response. His smile shined a bit less bright than before. And he didn't even seemed fazed by the person who just bumped him. She bent down to pick up a few stray sheets and handed them to him gingerly. 'Whats so wrong with telling me where it is? He obviously knows something.....' She sighed and stood back up stretching her arms up as she did. Calmly she brought them back down and smiled the brightest she could manage and nodded.

"Alright, we can meet right back up here, okay? And then your gunna tell me all about it!" She laughed cheerily and turned to the school.

"See you at lunch Red!.... i meant to say Rei... But Red has a pleasant sound it eh?" She turned and winked cheekily at him, her purple eyes glinting in the sunlight. Then she was off into the school not really waiting for a response from Rei, the Red Boy. Quickly showing up inside her class room '4A' and found her seat at the far left in the center. She unloaded her back pack onto the desk and took out the protein bar to start eating.

After a little bit of walking, Kyra and Takeji found themselves at a bench. The two sat down, Takeji relaxing a moment while Kyra looked around at the scenery. "We need to take this route more... Start waking up earlier so we can come here every morning." Kyra said. "Well, if we came here every morning, then it wouldn't be as much of a beautiful scenery since we'd get used to it, don't you think?" Takeji responded. "I mean, if you want to come here every morning then I'd be happy to get up, but it's better it remain a once-in-a-while kind of thing because it makes it all the more fun to come here if we're not seeing the same scenery every day." Takeji added, giving Kyra a smile. "Alright, I understand... Still, you owe me for not taking me down this route at all last year saying it was out of the way while going to different schools." Kyra said in a childishly annoyed tone

"Alright, alright, I'll get up early more often so we can come through here a few more times than usual." Takeji said, scratching his head as he couldn't dare argue against his sister. Takeji was about to get up and start heading toward the school once again with Kyra, but Kyra got up before him as she'd taken notice of somebody else, waving on over to them. "Hey!" Kyra shouted all excited and happy and such, starting to jog toward the person while still waving. "You shouldn't be running like that, Kyra." Takeji said, though it was too late. On the way though, about half-way between Esther and Takeji, she came to a sudden stop as she'd stepped on her own shoelace, tripping forward and landing flat on her face. "Owch..." Kyra mumbled to herself. "I warned you," Takeji said with a sigh as he walked on over toward Kyra to give her a little helping hand.

"You alright, Kyra...?" Takeji asked, holding his hand out and Kyra taking it so he could help her up. "I'm fine. It just hurt a little bit." Kyra said as she stood up with the help of Takeji. Kyra dusted her shoulder with her hand real quick before returning focus on the other person. Takeji's eyes didn't seem to even notice Esther, almost like Kyra and him were the only ones he knew to exist. "Now then, if you're done tripping while trying to run who-knows-where, shall we be going back toward school?" Takeji asked Kyra, Kyra brought to a sigh. "Onii-chan, onii-chan, onii-chan..." Kyra said in an uncaring-like mumble. "Why do you always act like nobody else exists...? I'm going to talk to the person over there, so please at least pretend you care that somebody else is around..." Kyra said, childishly poking Takeji on the cheek before walking on toward the other person again.

Black Garden

Asleep was one Hugh Mann. In the middle of a nap, one which wouldn't end at the choice of the one sleeping. The world around him would seem to go dark, everything fading completely into darkness until a long gate would once more appear. The location was quite similar to the Black Garden in the sense it had the giant gate with an infinitely-long wall around it. There was differences though. This time, the gate was more of a deathly presence, old and rusted just screaming death, meanwhile the wall covered in designs that he'd be unable to tell what they were right away. The coloring of everything being black and white, as well as the style of shading the place seemed to have, was very reminiscent of the pages in manga. Designs on the walls came into focus, everything around making Hugh seem as though at the gate of a biker gang's mansion or something.

Beside the gate was, once more, the mystery person from before. He seemed to be more fitted to the setting though, cloak replaced by a full-body biker outfit that left no skin showing, head covered by a helmet all the way through minus a small opening where a cigarette stuck out, though one wouldn't be able to see inside through that crack due to the inside of the helmet being too dark. "Welcome to the Black Garden." The man gave wave toward nothing, the gate slowly sliding upward into the giant wall and allowing entry for Hugh Mann. Inside resided a giant mansion, the kind in which you'd find some kind of notorious criminal organization in or whatever. Despite all the signs saying 'enter' though, Hugh would find himself unable to move currently, as the one beside the gate had some final words to give to him; explanation of sorts, one could say.

"Before you, lies a world of wonder. Just beyond the gate lies everything you could ever wish for, ever want. In this world is everything you love, everything you could ever need. Even should you want the world to make you work for what it gives you, it will do such. However, everything before you comes at a price. You'll be leaving behind your current life, tossing away the world you know. However, if you so wish it, it could be recreated within. In other words, the one price to pay for attaining everything you could ever imagine, is simply knowing it's yours. Now that I have said that, do you wish proceed to the Black Garden...?" The man had finished his words, and before Hugh the gate still remained open. Hugh's movement was returned, the man awaiting Hugh's choice. It was up to Hugh whether he'd proceed further in, or turn away and hope for exit of this place. It was up to Hugh if he wanted this world of which would grant his every wish, cater to his every whim.

Hugh's every wish is about to be granted. Will he take this opportunity and have it all, or idiotically leave this world behind that promises everything? It's up to Hugh what he does next, and why he does so. Whatever his reasons may be, there seems be no right or wrong answer. What will Hugh choose?

Hugh (@Mushroom Wars)

Hugh could swear he was in a dream but he felt as if he were wide awake. What he had dismissed earlier as a random lucid event could no longer be passed off as such. Whatever this was, it was real. From his ragged breathing, to the cold sweat, and even the feeling of the absolute nothingness that surrounded him, Hugh knew. Some many questions regarding the mysterious man before him and his exact whereabouts raced through his head; but the words of the man hushed them all away as if they were his own thoughts.

Hugh had just been given an ultimatum. A promise of unimaginable power if you will. It was so enticing, so inviting, that Hugh almost couldn't find the self control to not immediately run through the gates when given the opportunity. The price was just too good to be true, as there didn't even seem to be one at all, and this entire setup seemed to be just that, a setup. . .

He took his time with this, folding his arms and closing his eyes in concentration. The mysterious man didn't seem to be in a rush to go anywhere nor did it seem that he would show any lack of patience waiting for an answer. So Hugh thought for a moment. On the one hand, Hugh felt that this could be the pearly gates. . . in a sense. Hugh had never been particularly invested in religion in the past, but a giant gate leading to limitless happiness? Come on, he'd have to be a sucker not to notice if he was about to walk into the light or not. At the same time he didn't particularly remember dying in the first place and it would suck if he ate it while taking a nap. He shuddered at the thought.

On the other hand, as unlikely as it sounds, he may have somehow ended up in some sort of matrix and this was his chance to get in. Childish, yes, but he didn't have a lot of options pull from.

"Ara Ara. . . " Hugh rubs the nape of his neck in exasperation. "I don't suppose your willing to tell me what happens if I refuse?" he asks the man.

The man makes no response unsurprisingly.

"Ah, thought so. . ."

He was about to just give up and refuse the offer when he remembered something from his past. It was around the time when he started middle school and the other boys started to pick on him for being an "outsider". At first would always run away, but then his father found out and roughed him up for doing so. "A man doesn't show his back to his enemies! He takes life challenges head on and at full throttle!" he would say. He began teaching Hugh MMA with a dual focus in Boxing and Muy Thai. In a matter of months Hugh had turned the tables, largely due to his size advantage and newfound confidence, thus starting him on the path that would lead him to the man he currently was. He didn't scare easily, bottomline.

"Remembering something like that all of sudden. . ." he smirked, "Full throttle, huh?"

Without another thought Hugh stepped through the gates. The biker garb that the man had been wearing, now complete with sunglasses, flowed onto Hugh in a wispy fashion until there was nothing left of the man. Looking at the mansion before him, Hugh popped a smoke in his mouth and lit it. "Now then, hows 'bout we do a little redecorating?"

Ren'ai stepped back a bit after the girl spray him with, some kind of women's perfume. The smell did kind of womany, as stated by the girl. 'Uh, she did notice the booze smell...' Ren'ai almost sneezed, though, because of the smell, but he could hold it in.

"Well, it's not gin though, but, well, you guess it right. Wild night yesterday." Ren'ai noticed that she held his hand. Her hand was quite small compared to his, and he noticed that her hand is quite soft. Typical hands of a musician.

"Well, nice to meet such a pretty girl, Honoka. Second year? So, I must've guess wrong, I thought you're a freshman. Are you in a band or something, Honoka?" Just after that, she stated that she knew about the Black Garden. The Black Garden. Pretty white walls. A cloaked man. Right?, that's what she described. Even though his memory of the dream still kinda hazy, Ren'ai was sure that the room he saw was hollow, and there was no wall there. And it's nowhere near pretty, kinda scary, that's it.

"Well, you got the cloaked men right, but pretty white wall? Not even close. It was a big hollow room, sure, but there's no wall there. It's....kinda scary, actually. It gave chill down my spine.... I think we see a dif- Wait, do you see this room in a dream?" Ren'ai knew his tone changed from calm into more serious tone, the one you would hear on the interrogation..

@Halcyon

Setsuro crossed the school-yard at a brisk stride, heading towards the club building. After her arguement with the teacher, there was no way she was going to show up for Homeroom.

Besides, Ren'ai will probably be there, sleeping off last night's booze or something. She thought. I can hang out with him until Homeroom's done, then go back to class.

She pulled the door to the club building open and stepped inside, allowing it to swing shut behind her with a soft thud. As soon as she entered, she heard voices from upstairs. Setsuro paused at the foot of the stairs, one hand resting the banister, and listened.

"-pretty white walls. A cloaked man. Right?"

"Well you got the cloaked men right, but pretty white wall?"

She recognised Ren'ai's voice, and a girl's that she didn't know. For a moment she was painfully reminded of the dream she'd had the previous night, but Setsuro dismissed the thought quickly.

Coincidence.

But despite herself she felt the corners of her mouth curled into a wry grin.

Ren-san's with a girl? Some things never change. I just hope he's checked whether this one already has a boyfriend before he starts hitting on her...

Setsuro climbed the stairs, stifling a fresh yawn. As she reached the top she saw Ren'ai, hand-in-hand with a pretty blonde girl. Folding her arms across her chest, Setsuro leaned against the wall, watching the pair with the same grin and a quirked eyebrow.

"Not interrupting, am I?" She asked, smelling the scent of fresh perfume in the air. "Why does it smell so much of perfume up here? It's nice."

Honoka Hashimoto

Honoka furrowed her eyebrows slight, ignoring any questions he asked about her. It's not that he really care. Honoka then let out a laugh, shaking her head. "I think you've been mistaken. It wasn't a dream for me. I was actually there. I went to the black garden." She smiled once again. "I don't know when, as i said before, but i know it wasn't a dream. It was much too real to be a dream. I could feel the tension and recall very fine details.I can't do that with dreams." She explained excitedly. This was the first time she was actually able to talk about herself with someone, granted, it was probably helping out Ren'ai more.

She then heard a new voice, causing Honoka to look over at her. She looked down at the mention of it smelling mumbling out a "sorry." However, she brightened up at the next part, smiling. "Oh really? It does smell nice doesn't it?" She grinned, clapping her hands. She then looked at the two, suddenly feeling as though she was being a bother. "Oh. Uh. I got to go. It was nice talking about the black garden with you. Maybe we can go together one day? Maybe not though since you only saw it in a dream." She laugh, waving as she turned on her heels. She then tightened the grip on her bag, walking down the stairs to exit the building.

Honoka continued to walk down the path, looking for anyone who seemed to need help. She liked to consider herself a friend to everyone, always making sure the were okay. She noticed a boy, sitting on the ground with his head shoved in between his knees. Like always Honoka walked over sitting next to the boys. "Are you okay?" She simply asked, patting his head. The boy looked up, noticing who it was. Most everyone around school knew Honoka was the girl you told your problems to. As the boy went on to explain about his parents loosing their jobs and him maybe having to move Honoka just sat there and listened, nodding and adding in input on how to feel better every once in a while. In the end the boy ended up laughing along with Honoka. After a few moments he stood up. "Thanks for your help! I needed that." He smiled before walking off. Once again she made someone happy. She was happy for that and couldn't help but feel happy herself. Yet deep deep down, in a place she wished to ignore, dread and anger filled her. A place filling her with thoughts she couldn't even hear. Why didn't he ask how she was doing. The little brat didn't even tell her to have a nice day. Your worthless and you know it. You should just die... For now though she was blinded by happiness, and these thoughts didn't get a chance to reach her.

Esther hummed softly to herself as she followed the GPS on her phone. She looked around and blinked at little, 'wow...' she thought as she stared at the scenery. She didn't notice it until now. She smiled a little ' i should show this to Rena later...' she thought to herself as she continued to walk to her school.

Halfway across the park, she heard someone yell hey to her. She blinked and looked around thinking it was for someone else, which it wasnt. She then heard a loud thud and finally looked at the person who called out to her. She started to walk over to her to help but a male came over and help her up. She tilted her head a bit as she overheard them speak ' they're siblings...' she thought and was thinking about and then noticed their uniforms, it was the same as hers. 'wonder if they can give me a tour of the school...'

She yawned a little ' naa... I should bother them...' she stsrted to walk away ' i can alway ask the teachers...' she thought. She then heard footsteps behind her and turned around to see the girl looking at her. She blinked a little " um... hi" she started aid to her politely " i am Esther Rivers...Nice to meet you"

Morning "Before School"

Ezla

Getting off the train, Ezla noticed a girl she's seen around at school, Hasegawa Yuzuki (
@Emiya Shin). Ezla watched her silently, trying to decide whether or not to approach the other girl. After all, Ezla wasn't a very social girl nor did she have many friends. She'd been teased as a child for having such a western name despite having been born in the very heart of Japan.

Her name and gloomy looks led people to ignore her and Hasegawa-san looked like the type of bubbly and cute character with her short, orange/red hair that steered clear of people like her. Ezla turned away and sighed before fixing her black framed glasses and continuing on with her way to school. Besides, who needed friends?

There was obviously something much more important at hand: like that dream she'd suddenly woken up from.
'Black Garden?" She thought to herself. 'What does that even mean?' Ezla had never heard of any place by the name at all and it seemed that neither did the rest of the world if her previous search was anything to go by. She fixed a few of the pins in her hair and continued on her way to school.

Ezla thought back to her brother and hoped he was doing well. It had been almost six months since she'd last seen him and the separation was finally getting to her. Her big brother was her best friend and rock. With him gone, she felt almost lost. With her head in the clouds, Ezla tripped over a misplaced rock and grabbed anything closest to her. Turns out, that 'thing' was a person. Turns out, that 'person' was Hasegawa-san.

Ren'ai tried to hold Hanako back so they can have a chat, since it's his first time meeting her, but the interruption from Setsuro, her classmate, she left in a hurry. "Hey, wait. At least ell me your..- there she goes...." Ren'ai watched her as she turned and walked down the stairs. 'Sure, if we meet again. What is the Black Garden anyway...'

Ren'ai then turned his head to his classmate, Setsuro, who worked at his uncle bar. Ren'ai sighed and then leaned himself to the wall. "Oh man, you ruined my fateful encounter with a new beauty. But, hey, you still look good even though you're not in your maid uniform. Say, do you want to hang out after school? You know, let-me-treat-you-so-I-can-date-you kind of thing? You do know that I have crush on you, right?" Ren'ai then put on a small grin in his face to Setsuro, whom he tried to date since freshman year.

@Hellkite

As Diana sat through class, all she could really do was lay her head down. She couldn't focus on her courses with the thought of getting this dream found out so easily. Something had to be amiss. Her dreams were usually easy to interpret, having read many different dream interpretation books. But this one was no where in the books she read. She racked her brain trying to figure it out what it could have been, but nothing came up.

'On the bright side, you get to see the cute red boy again!' she thought to herself admittedly smiling a bit. She may be a tom boy in societal standards, but she had her girly moments. She thought about him and what he may say. "Oh its down by the fair, a new attraction. Wanna come with me sometime?"..... she giggled a little to herself and put her head down. She knew there was no way that was the case, still was nice to think about it like that though.

Setsuro gave the blonde girl a small but warm smile as she left, ignoring Ren'ai's attempts to make her stay. She seemed sweet.

"You'll have to tell me where you found that perfume sometime!" She called after the girl as she descended the stairs. Setsuro turned back to Ren'ai in time to catch him continue talking to her.

Setsuro rolled her eyes and smirked at him as she always did when he started hitting on her, equal parts flattered and amused.

"Ever the lady-killer, huh? Sorry for messing it up for you with her." She jerked her head in the direction of the stairs. "As for hanging out with you after school..."

She thought for a moment, before producing her usual answer.

"I'm on duty at the bar once school's out, so I can only serve the drinks, rather than sit with you."

Setsuro's smirk reduced to a genuinely apologetic smile.

"But if you're headed that way you could always walk me over there? Not a date." Setsuro added quickly, "but a walk. If we're heading the same way there's no point going alone. Anyways, I could do with a laugh and a chat."

Setsuro stretched, stifling another yawn with a clenched fist.

Wow, I really need to get more early nights.

"So," She began, moving over to lean against the wall opposite Ren'ai. "How's it going with you? Planning on ditching class?" She paused, recalling her dream from the night before, and then something that the blonde girl had said. She decided to launch straight into her gambit.

"What was this 'Black Garden' your friend was talking about? The one you dreamed. Sounds interesting."

Black Garden. Setsuro thought. Surely a coincidence, but still. I dreamed about a Black Garden too...

Ren'ai smirked and then smiled at the idea of walking out together after school, even though it's not a date. "Man, you're as cold to me as always, Setsuro-chan. Well, that'll do, for now I guess." He saw Setsuro leaned herself onto the wall before yawned. Ren'ai gave a small laughter, and then smiled. "Rough nights lately huh?"

Ren'ai smirked at the idea of ditching class with her. He have heard that sometimes those teacher chewed on Setsuro. "I guess. My head's still spinning from yesterday. The teacher chewed on you again, huh?" Setsuro then talked about the Black Garden, it seems she saw it too.

"Well, I dunno either. It's just a weird eerie dream that I had, but that girl saw she gone to the actual place. Meh, I can't think clearly right now." Ren'ai then put his arm around Setsuro, then start walking toward the stairs to the roof. "Well, let's talk on the roof, shall we, babe? My uncle's been giving you a hard time, eh?"

@Hellkite

Rei watched as Diana ran towards the entrance, and smiled. She really seemed nice, and they were in a similar position, apparently. Both of them had the same dream, about the same place, and it seemed to be bothering both of them. Rei made his way to class, 2A, and as usual, the girls blushed and whispered, and some of the guys straightened up, trying to maintain a level of confidence that Rei seemed to diminish just by being nearby. It didn't make much sense to him. He wasn't any different from everyone else, after all.

As he sat in his classroom, waiting for the day to begin, Reizou couldn't help but think about the dream. What did it mean? If it meant anything at all, that is. Why was Rei involved? What did it have to do with Diana? Was something happening to them? How was he going to explain to her how little he knew about this? All of these thoughts drifted through his head, and he could feel himself becoming worn out from the excessive thought. It'd been quite some time since Rei had fallen asleep in class...

Soon the bell rang.

Black Garden

"You've made a most excellent choice, my friend..." The man said calmly, the gate silently closing behind Hugh and everything behind him, gate and all, just gone. The world was a place where Hugh could do just about anything, bend the world's rules to about his every whim. It lacked people, but simple want of a person would create such a person, as well as the same could be done be rid of people. Hugh would even be able to bring existence to specific people and things, exactly as he wants them be and able to just simply wish for 'his father' to get a person exactly like his father. Unknown to Hugh though, his physical body was gone without a trace. It had vanished from the spot in which it rested, without a single person having ever known he was taking a nap there even should they have previously seen him there. Even if somebody had been trying to wake him up until now, they wouldn't remember trying to wake Hugh up, though it wasn't like he never existed in the realm of the living. It was like he'd just vanished from the face of the earth though.

Words Behind Backs

"The gate's closed on one... Their only leave will be salvation, and in this world, there is no salvation. A dream is but that; a dream. It may promise everything, but in the end gives nothing. There lies naught but suffering in this world, for the biggest of promises, give the worst of despair. Let the world slowly guide your soul to its torture, for life here lasts an eternity without silence. Welcome to the Black Garden..."

The Bell

The school's bell ringing for all to hear, it would reveal that not too long from now, school would start. It was just fifteen minutes before all students would be required in their seats unless wishing be late, absent, or otherwise. Students would begin flooding through the halls (not literally), headed to their respective classrooms and getting in their respective seats. There were the occasional students who didn't bother going to class until last minute or so though, given fifteen minutes could be plenty time to get some important things done.

"Nice to meet you, Esther! I'm Kyra, and this here's my brother, Takeji!" Kyra said with a smile on her face, taking Esther's hand in both of her own and shaking it energetically but gently. Kyra was about to get all playful and everything, but Takeji just had to check his watch right now. Seeing the time was pretty close to the start of school, they'd spent way too much time there. "Kyra, if you're done talking to imaginary friends, we have fifteen minutes before class begins." Takeji said, grabbing Kyra by the back of her shirt and beginning casually drag her along with him. She basically acted like a doll, still as she was dragged while on her heels. She gave a smile and a wave to Esther as she was dragged. "See you later, Esther!" Kyra said cheerfully, almost like she didn't notice she was being dragged by her brother. The two went on their way, and that was that.

I won't be here starting about now until around noon on Sunday. Please feel free to go hop in your seats or whatever. You can also just go ahead and pretend the fifteen minutes are going by slow enough for you to just hang out with people a while, but do note that Kyra and Takeji aren't allowed for interactions for the sake of people not getting help up waiting on me. Of course, if you don't mind the wait you can find them each sitting in their respective classrooms, assuming you're in the same year and thus decide same class. Don't expect Takeji respond even when I get back though, unless a certain character :x

Also, please excuse the border BBCode if it's a bit screwy, I'll get to fixing that if I get the chance because it's kind of a work in progress but works well most of the time when I do it correctly :x *created it myself*

[Yuzuki Hasegawa]

[Tokyo - Normal School Route]

@ScytheMeister7

While waiting for Makoto's response to her greeting, Yuzuki continued to wait for her train. She felt that the train was unusually late, before taking out her black Fujitsu Arrows smartphone and pressed the power button. The OLED screen lit up, revealing the iconic 9 circular pattern lockscreen and the time. To her surprise, she only have 15 minutes left to get to the school on time.

("What the...! I thought I gone out early today! Darn it...!)

Fortunately, the train that Yuzuki has been anxiously waiting for has arrived. Without turning to give Makoto a second look, she braced herself and plunged into the crowd of people trying to get into the train, while avoiding the other crowd of people who exited from the train. At first, everything seemed to be going well, Yuzuki is still holding on to her school bag, no one taking advantage of her... However, she did not notice that a tall female student with a pair of black framed glasses was going to fall on her until it was too late.

"Whoa--!"

Yuzuki tried to maintain her footing, but she eventually failed and fell down to the ground, back first. After giving a quick rub to her back, Yuzuki got up to her feet, before taking a closer look at the person who fell on to her and giving her a hand. The female student was wearing the same school uniform outfit as Yuzuki herself. She thinks that she might be Ezla Steele, as tall girls are somewhat uncommon, but she was uncertain, as they only have some brush-ins in the school and they never talked to each other.

"Are you okay?" Yuzuki asked the dark haired girl in front of her.

Then, to Yuzuki's disappointment, the train left when she turned her gaze to it. She sighed before changing her focus to the tall girl with spectacles.

"Did you get yourself hurt?"

Esther smiled at Kyra as she energetically and gently shook her hand. She blinked a little as she suddenly felt something was off. She looked around and nothing was wrong with her surroundings ' probably my imagination....' she thought to herself. She looked at Kyra and was about to say something when she heard her brother say they had 15 minutes until school started. " h-" she was about to say something but saw Kyra dragged away by her brother. She sweatdropped a little when the brother called her an imaginary friend.

She softly sighed and decided to follow the to two " hey... can you tell me where the teacher's office is after we get to school?... I am new" she said to Kyra and also Takeji, but didn't expect an answer from him.

@Kiyoko Tomoe

Setsuro nodded at Ren.

"Mhm. My teacher thinks I'm spending too much time working and not enough studying, so thats why my grades are suffering, apparently."

She allowed Ren'ai to put his arm around her, but was careful not to brush against him too much.

"And as for your uncle, its..." Setsuro tried to think of a way to put it tactfully.

He refuses to pay me overtime, even though I work longer shifts than all the other girls. Plus, he seems to like scheduling me to work the midnight and early morning detail, which means I can't enjoy wandering around town at night like I used to.

"...complicated. Work stuff. I don't expect you'd be too interested."

She searched for a change of topic as the pair stepped out onto the roof.

"Your heads still spinning from yesterday?" Setsuro folded her arms. "I did warn you that you were drinking too much. But I guess you just can't learn, right? I should stop serving you booze."

She stepped out from under Ren'ai's arm and wandered across the roof, enjoying the breeze as it brushed her hair and face. As she walked she heard the school bell ringing, calling the students to class. She came to a stop in the roof's centre and sat down, leaning back against a squat vent. She glanced back over at Ren'ai.

"That's the bell. Classes'll start soon, so at least it'll be quiet. Come sit, Ren-kun." She gestured vaguely at the area surrounding her. "Lets chat for a while."

Ren'ai fell silent as Setsuro avoid answering the question's about his uncle. He only knew that Setsuro worked more hour than other part-timer there. Decided not to poke that stuff again, at least for the next few days, he followed Setsuro to the roof. As they stepped on the rooftop of the building, Setsuro asked if his head still spinning.

"Yeah, kind of. I need my booze to forgot painful things that happened before, you know. I think I've told you my stories before, when I was hitting on you." Ren'ai stepped forward as Setsuro walked around the rooftop. The breeze was nice that day. Heh, it was a good decision to come up here. Just then, he heard the bell rang. Setsuro tall him to sit beside her.

Ren'ai smiles and walked toward Setsuro. He then lie down beside her and yawned. "It's been a long time, eh. I remember you were hanging around with those clique group of yours. Heck, I remember tried hitting one of your friend. Oh, Can I call you Se-chan again, just like old times ?" Ren'ai turned his head around to see Setsuro's face, hoping that she won't get mad about the idea.

Morning '15 Minutes Before School'
Ezla

"Crap, crap, crap!" Ezla pulled her glasses off and checked for any cracks, letting out a small sound of frustration when she noticed there was a straight line right through her left lens. "Father is going to be so disappointed..." She mumbled under her breath. It was the third she'd broken in two months. Ezla steamed slightly before finally remembering that she'd practically tackled another girl down. "S-sorry, Hasegawa-san!" Ezla apologized abruptly. "I-I wasn't watching where I was going." She blushed when the other girl asked if she was okay and nodded shyly.

It was after all her first time talking to her and what a way to do it. "I'm fine, but are you okay? I did pull you down, after all." Ezla wanted to bash her head into a wall. This was the most embarrassing thing ever. She felt a strong wind against her back and froze. T-the train... Had she missed it? Ezla looked back up at the other girl before hanging her head. "S-sorry. I made you miss the train and now we'll both be late for school."

Hugh sat upon his version of the iron throne, assembled using motorcycles parts. What had once been a mere mansion was now an extraordinary modern-day fortress, each room tailored to meet a specific need. Though there were no rooms that could remedy the endless boredom that he felt.

What he had been promised was true. Anything he could could imagine was at his finger tips, and that was precisely the problem. Whatever he wanted required a great deal of imagineering. The fortress he had built was but a mere shell when he first imagined it; no rooms no objects, no people to upkeep it. Everything he wanted he had to imagine and not half-assedly either. The level of complexity only rose from there, specifically dealing with the creation of people.

He hadn't noticed at first when he created his father and uncle. They were easy creations because he had a life time of memories to attribute to their character and they're faces were easy for him to remember. When he had started to create other people is when he noticed something was up. Initially he had mass produced many people to live in the city he'd created just by willing it. That was fine for a while but with each new person he noticed more physical similarities between each individual. Facial features and voices, all vague and yet so familiar. Eventually it got to the point where a number of physical defects could be found; like two left hands, mismatched eyes, extra parts. Then there were those he found that even if he looked directly at them it would be hard to make out a face; he called these creatures the faceless. The breaking point was when he tried to recreate his mother by pulling on the memory of a picture he'd once seen of her. Not only could he be sure of what he was seeing was actually his mother he couldn't even give her a personality because he knew nothing about her.

Hugh had reached the conclusion that he couldn't simply create people on a whim. Complex objects he knew had a basic function, like a gun for example, were one thing but an entire human being was something else entirely. For the most part he stopped creating anyone new.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A mistake might have been made coming to this place. This was no dream; it was nightmare, nay a prison. Every so often, Hugh would check on the garden gate, a symbolic feature that he had no control over. It remained closed but it's not like there was anywhere to go if it opened.
Hugh spent most his time sitting in his throne which overlooked his creations. Typically, he found that there is nothing worth doing when everything is created by you. For how long had he been here he wondered. Hours, days, had one day even gone by? Or did time even apply to this realm? There was no progression of day to night here and Hugh himself never showed any signs of tiring.
Whether it was a product of his subconscious acting on its own or not, his creations seemed to self evolve beyond the their simple one-track mind tasks and occasionally run into conflict with each other. For these matters Hugh tested the limits of his imagination and created someone to handle things in his place. Using a great deal of concentration Hugh created the ideal body and for the personality he applied his own with a few tweaks to the obedience category, as to avoid issues with it taking orders. The process left him somewhat exhausted and with a headache, but this particular creation managed to bring a smile to his face.
[Yuzuki Hasegawa]
[Tokyo - Normal School Route]
@ScytheMeister7
Judging from the tall girl's speech and her actions, it was definitely Ezla Steele. With an embarrassed expression, Ezla replied that she was okay, but from Yuzuki's view, she could see that there is a crack in Ezla's black framed spectacles, probably that it got broken when both of the girls fell down. Yuzuki felt sympathy for the damage of her glasses, since repairing a pair of broken glasses would cost a fortune. Even so, she maintained her positive outlook. Of course, Yuzuki is still slightly panicking that she will be late for school, but at least she has a decent reason to cover her lateness.
As the train moved on to its next station, Ezla looked depressed, as she apologized to Yuzuki.
"S-sorry. I made you miss the train and now we'll both be late for school."
Yuzuki smiled at the girl with a pair of glasses, attempting to lighten her up.
"It's okay, Ms. Steele. At least we have a reason to give when both of us get questioned by the student council members." She giggled, in a teasing manner. "But I apologize that I got your glasses broken. If only I'm slightly stronger..."
Then, Yuzuki once again produced her smartphone to keep herself updated with the time. Knowing that waiting for the next train would take another 15 minutes, and that would effectively seal them in the latecomers bracket. However, there is only one way to reach the school in time. But even with that method, her success largely depends on her luck, how busy the roads are, and so on. Perhaps Ezla might be interested in this method?
Once again, Yuzuki turned to the reserved tall girl in front of her.
"Anyway, I have a Plan B to get to school on time. But that would require us sweat a bit." She lets out another cheeky smile, before placing her hands on her hip. "We're going to walk to school. But since we're getting late, we're running there! I know some shortcuts and which alleyways to cut through."
Yuzuki quickly cracked her knuckles and gave a quick twists and turns to her body, as if she was doing a quick warmup, before encouraging Ezla to follow her. "Are you ready to take the challenge? Or will I be doing this alone? But I must say, it has been a while since I actually ran to school..."
She waited for Ezla's response expectantly.
Setsuro rolled her eyes, but grinned at Ren.
"Fine, you can call me Se-chan. And yeah, it does bring back memories."
For a moment Setsuro recalled her first year at High School. She'd spent hours sprawled on this very roof with the gang of girls that she'd grudgingly called friends.
"I wouldn't exactly call Ayane-san my 'friend'. Setsuro laughed, shaking her head slightly. "I spent more time squabbling with her than actually hanging out. Still, I suppose that sort of counts as friends when you're only a freshman."
She shrugged. She still saw Ayane sometimes, in passing. They'd exchange nods when they passed each other in the corridors, and the other girl would occasionally text to invite her to meet up for coffee.
Probably just out of habit. Setsuro thought. We hardly talk anymore, not since I started working and she joined her clubs.
Setsuro glanced over at Ren'ai.
"Do you remember much of Freshman year?" She asked. "I can only remember it going by in a blur. To be honest, I can't remember much of Second year either."
Setsuro closed her eyes and smiled longingly.
"And now we only have one more year until we're done." She sighed at the prospect. "Have you decided what you'll do after school yet?"
Ren'ai let out a small laughter after hearing Setsuro's story. Imaginig Setsuro when they was still freshman, where she still hung out with her friend, Ayane, and her clique gangs, sure brought back memories. Ren'ai then sat and pat Setsuro on the back.
"Well, anything goes for a freshmen, like us back then. Yeah, I remember freshman year. I was just moved to this city, and kinda depressed on top of that. But, strangely enough, that's all I remember. I can't even remember the faces of your clique gangs too. Only you and Ayane, since she was on the same class with me last year."
Hearing Setsuro talked about the future, and what he will done after his school days done, Ren'ai let out a small sigh. To be honest, he didn't have any idea of what he going to do after this. Maybe continuing his uncle's work as a bartender, or going to a college, or maybe find a good woman and married while looking for some other jobs. Who knows about the future?
"To be honest, I didn't think that far off. You know thinking isn't my forte. If it's flirting, then you have your ace here. Admit it, you once fell for me right? Ayane said so to me before." Ren'ai smirked at Setsuro, waiting for the girl's response.
Ezla
Morning '15 Minutes Before School'
Ezla had been playing with her hands in shame and was shocked by the other girl's response. Did she say it was okay? Ezla wanted to protest but before she could, Hasegawa-san apologized her her broken glasses.
"N-no! It's not your fault. I should've been paying attention to where I was going." She said instead. Ezla stressed about when the next train would arrive. Even if they did have an excuse, it didn't mean they'd necessarily be excused. She already didn't have the most outstanding record with the student council president.
After her brother had left, Ezla had become a bit...rebellious for a short period of time. In a way, she'd been somewhat of a delinquent but it hadn't lasted for very long. Most people didn't even know about it unless they'd been directly influenced.
Ezla almost jumped out of her skin when the other girl spoke to her again.
"Another route? Umm, okay. If you don't mind me joining you..." Ezla trailed off. She was tall with long legs so running wouldn't be too much of a problem. She didn't necessarily do plenty of it but she could deal thus one time. Ezla was actually kind of excited. For the first time in a while, she was talking to someone, another girl nonetheless, and it wasn't ending in some sort of horrific accident.
Ezla gave a shy smile, cracked glasses gleaming in the sunlight.
"I'd...really like to run to school with you, Hasegawa-san."
