“My apologies.” Tequilla said with widened eyes from Tani's statement. Once the shock was over, he nodded and put back his drink selection on the shelf. “And that is perfectly fine, miss. Please don’t hesitate to ask anything.” Upon seeing Takemi arive, the barman offered a mild smile. “Oh, hello there.” Shortly after there, her request earned him a light chuckle, “Not one to slow down much, are we? I suppose it’s better to follow that trail while it’s still fresh. Do you remember the hallway just across where you just arrived? That’s the train station, right there. You can take a train there for free to just about anywhere in the planet, including Newerth. The engineers are kind enough to yell which way they’re heading, too. Oh, and if you do come across the culprit, tell him Tequilla won't forget this." He added in a more serious tone.

Shortly after Cindy found shelter within the machinery of the nearby ship a loud noise was heard, that being the same door she slipped through being busted open. Hurried steps zig-zagged around, anxious and unsure as their scoured the vicinity. Tried as they might, however, they didn’t seem to be any closer to the hideout itself. It seemed like the coast would clear soon when the hurried noise of steps emerged from the distance, followed by the sound of a heavy wooden object dropping into the vehicle's floor, felt by a quick shake within the hull.
“Seems like that was the last of it!” Exclaimed a voice from within the ship. “Get ready for lift-off, we need those crates in Newerth stat!”
Not long after, a rumble overtook the vehicle and the walls inside of the engine began heating up; Cindy's hideout specifically didn't seem particularly hot yet, but it was hard to tell whether it'd remain like that in the near future.
Newerth's outskirts - Entrapta
P PopcornPie
After quite a bit of searching, the subject of Entrapta’s search would show up not too far from Newerth’s outskirts, back again at the city ruins that surrounded it. She ran into a sizeable pool of pink Blobbas bobbed and hopped their way into a small alleyway, guided by a strange green Blobba that left a stinking, steaming dark green slime on its path; Whatever the strange substance was, it didn’t seem very safe to touch.
Atop this crowd there was a single Blobba with a pink ribbon on its tail. It seemed to react to Entrapta's calls, but it was being carried off by its brethren, bouncing helplessly on its spot with a crying expression over its cartoony face. The world’s cutest kidnapping proceeded slowly but unimpeded and, should nothing be done about it, would soon vanish from sight into whatever awaited down that obscure path.
Newerth's outskirts - Lelouch
Jeef_jones
After a bit of journeying towards the tower, the young man came across a wide avenue that seemed in better shape than most patches of asphalt around it, vehicle husks in different states of corrosion siding it just before the sidewalks. Right at the middle of the street, a boy laid on the street, holding one of his knees with both hands. He’d squirm and scream, rocking back and forth with a pained expression that could break even the coldest of hearts.
Newerth - Magic School
CocoaMarshmallow Yamperzzz
Just as quickly as the excited robot lightened up Thomas’ expression, Gargan’s skeptic remark took it away. But it was pointless to talk further. He’d show them magic directly and settle the dispute once and for all.
If Newerth was a museum of magic paintings crafted into the stone, then the school was the exposition’s masterpiece, with the most beautiful and intricate patterns and dashes of vibrant colors peeking around the purple tapestry that adorned the walls. Students would pace by with books, discussing subjects and assignments and without batting much of an eye to the passerbies. Upon being requested by Thomas, a young man with purple hair approached the group and began to speak:
“Welcome, welcome to Newerth’s magic academy! My name is Sygmund and I’m a teacher here. Oh, my!” He quickly hurried in closer to Gargan, staring up at him with concerned eyes. “This… This isn’t natural, is it? It looks awful. How did it happen? Come, I’ll see what we can do for you right away. Could you accompany us too, friend?” He asked hypercam. “I have a feeling you’ll also find what you seek there.”
Newerth - Leyline tower
P PopcornPie
While all of Newerth seemed to emanate a mystic, arcane aura from within itself, in no other place this feeling was quite as powerful as the ground level of the Leyline tower: the very pebbles and dust in the floor would float in the air on their own, glowing slightly from the energy given through the magic crossroads. The gates were grand and elegant, decorated with gems and crystals, and the insides gleamed with stained glass lighting beaming in. At the entrance, Caramel was met with a young man in surprisingly modern clothes. He heard what she had to say, then replied:
“Good, you’re just in time then! You may call me Jeremy, I’ll be your supervisor for the day. Come with me, I’ll explain the specifics while we walk.”
After that, Jeremy turned to the side, then made a circular motion with his hand that summoned a spinning, floating blue magical circle just in front of him. The glow that came from it seemed to react with something in the ground - like fluorescent objects exposed to black light - and formed a shiny white light that crossed the floor. He began walking on top of said path, which quickly left the city’s path and into the ruins at a direction different than the one she came from.
“You don’t seem from around here, miss, so I’ll begin from square one. The leylines are pretty much the threads of this planet’s soul, where magic energy gathers the most. We built that tower over there to help gather it and conjure stronger, more reliable spells in our town. It also casts a massive aura around the whole planet that sets out the gnarliest curses down a peg. This means that keeping it working is critical. You could save a life today, young lady.”

From the front of the jeep, Richard looked down at Amanda's hanging sleeves and offered her a smirk and an understanding nod. From the front of he jeep, he took a glance back to say:
“You sure are a lively bunch back there…”
Just as he spoke the last word, his voice died out. Was that… Two of them? In different colors? At first he figured it was some sort of magic skill, but ms. Ruby seemed just as startled by the arrival as himself. Whoever it was, though, their behavior seemed peaceful enough that he’d let her stay around as well.
“Well, this is it. I hope you don’t mind enclosed spaces.”
The jeep parked in front of a large gap at the end of a slanted, toppled building that led upwards into a cluster of concrete and vine, well in sight of Horobi and Jin but without spotting them. A couple of guards wearing maces and rags spotted the jeep, nodded and made way for them to enter.
All across the ramp up and through the hole on the wall that led into the next edifice carcass, people of all sizes and shapes populated the alcoves. Their makeshift homes were the epitome of humble, featuring tents, fires and stacks of canned food and water, often times with a rusty weapon laying around as well. They’d look up to the visitors with tired, yet curious faces, observing their perfectly neat clothes and gear with a hint of yearning as they passed by.
Torikago's outskirts - Imp hunt mission
Topless
The sound of flesh being pierced and an ear-splitting screech filled the air. Then, peace. With the last imp down, the only sound left was the soft bip of the bomb near the middle of the clearing, with no signs of creatures anywhere else. The monsters' bodies laid limp on the floor, spilling contents from their insides - not blood and guts, as one would expect, but pieces of medieval gear, generic minerals and even a few money notes upon the floor. With the danger (somewhat) gone, the group now boasted plenty of time and peace to decide what to do next.

When Yang and MaoMao walked up to V1K1NG and replied to him, the onlookers held their breath dramatically, metaphorically holding on to their seat in expectations to what would ensue. The cat had been friendly enough, but it was hard to see the blonde bombshell’s line as anything short than looking for trouble. The hulking man stopped walking, then turned at them, towering over even Yang’s 5’8” with ease. His first response was a laugh. But not a friendly laugh, mind you; It was more akin of a gorilla, baring teeth to threaten an invader. He said:
“Yeah, someone really does! If you want a piece of V1K1NG, just gotta wait real quick till I teach this filth a lesson.” He then glanced at MaoMao and his giddy introduction, to which his response was a louder, more honest laugh. “Sheriff, eh? Your town’s gonna need a new one, ‘cuz there’s no coming back from here.”
Amidst the crowd gathering by the front gate of Laurelia, a tiny figure paced through the burly warriors, visible only by wild lock of cyan hair perking up in the shape of a comma. It bobbed up and down with each skipping step, accompanied by the sounds of ferocious munching and gobbling, before coming to a screeching halt. It bobbed twice, like a periscope searching for a bogey in the surface, before stopping to point at Yang, Mao Mao and V1K1NG. The figure sneakily scurried away into a dark alley, a faint sound of radio gear popping up soon after.
“This is Godslayer committee base, over.” The radio spoke. The minute figure replied, with a high-pitched voice and a mouth stuffed full of corn dogs:
“Uhm spmmth hm mf th pmmpl mf intmhph.”
“What?”
A long swallowing sound ensued.
“I’ve spotted one of the people of interest!”
“The hostess will be pleased. Make sure they don’t get into trouble.”
A giggle was the only reply.
“What was that about?” The radio asked.
“No promises! Bye.”
Genesis Labs

After proper greetings were had, Dr. Hartman turned towards a long corridor that led from the hall and began walking, but not without first passing through the settlement’s very own notice board. Inside the hallway, the walls were instersped with large grass panels that showed the side rooms, the vast majority of them composed of cramped laboratories, libraries and meeting rooms. He began speaking:
“Genesis labs is, without shadow of a doubt, one of the most important facilities in this planet. This is where all the biological products of the world come from - most notably, food and rideable animals. This planet used to house a completely different species, you see, and quite the advanced one at that; we’re just beginning to uncover the facilities and technology they left behind here, but it’s clear that they could shape and craft genetic codes of living creatures however they wished it.”
“We’re still leagues away from doing that, but we’ve managed to track down and isolate some of the creatures they created from it. We call those ‘biological agents’, or bioagents for short. Just over here, you’ll find the shop. I suggest you give it a check, we have a bit for everyone!”
“Of course, we couldn’t possibly keep the creatures underground, so we keep them under control through supervising stations that are scattered across the region and connected through the tunnels. And if you pay attention here, you’ll have the deeper levels of the research labs. Unfortunately, however, I can’t take you there, since it is where we house the micro-organisms. Quite deadly if you’re not correctly sanitized and trained, but also the biggest potential in this entire laboratory. Perso-”
Dr. Hartman stopped all of a sudden, staring vaguely at nowhere for a moment with a surprised expression. Then, he blinked twice and returned his attention to the others:
“My deepest apologies, it seems that a pressing matter is calling for me. The main hall you came in through should be at the end of the corridor, and the housing cells, beyond that. I hope that you understand that the housing here is quite limited, so non-essential personnel are usually only allowed to stay for a few days at a time. Please enjoy your time here!”

Sarika would stop and stare at scientists and creatures, often times taking several seconds before realizing she was being left behind and pacing after them. She swallowed hard when Dr. Hartman mentioned the microscopic agents, since despite being woefully unaware of what they were, the Doctor’s warning of them provided enough information to warrant keeping a safe distance from that door. When he excused himself, the young lady nodded and replied:
“Thank you very much for your tour, Doctor! I wish you best of luck with your task.”
Suddenly, Sarika snapped out of her tranquil state, staring at the wall with a dead expression for a few moments before wincing and teaching for her temple with one of her hands. Then, two two blinks and a deep breath. Everything seemed back to normal. Acting as if nothing had happened, the young lady turned back to the others and patiently awaited to hear out their next move.
