--Horobi||Jin--

  • Location: Zero-One's Universe; Daybreak Town, Japan.

Within the boundaries of the sunken city, right outside of Metsuboujinrai.net's hideout, Jin is sitting on the balcony, piling small chunks of debris atop of each other, forming a small mound before taking out what seems to be a red key card of sorts, placing it amongst the pile before covering it with a few more rocks. Satisfied with this, he began to clean off the remaining rocks, leaving two piles.

"...What are you doing?" The blunt question came from Jin's own robot father, Horobi, who had just come outside to their balcony, checking on Jin.

"I'm making a grave for Mr. Assasin and Ikazuchi..." Jin says as he cleaned off the graves, soon picking up a pair of yellow flowers for the two of them.

"Did you look that up?" Horobi asked, deadpanned. Almost as if he didn't really care about such things.

"Yup." Jin nodded with a smile, bringing up the flowers to his face. "I'll make sure to avenge them." He says, as he placed the flower onto the mound with the key hidden inside. It feels as if Jin really cared for the two that got destroyed in their encounters with Kamen Rider Zero-One and Kamen Rider Vulcan--he even considers them as more than friends. They're like a family, even. Despite so, Horobi swiftly knocks over the mound of rocks.

"Stop acting human." Horobi spat, crouching down and taking the red keycard that Jin had burried, "Those two had already fulfilled their roles in our plans." He said, gripping the red key as he turned towards the lake that their hideout looms in its center, a certain area glowing red.

    Screen_Shot_2020-04-15_at_8.14.59_AM.png

"Yeah..." Jin sadly nods, forcing "I guess you're right."

"All per the will of the Ark." Horobi walked close to the balcony's edge, staring off into the distance. Jin followed closely behind, standing beside him.

"...Do you think we'll be ready for this, Horobi?" Jin asked, "They did take down most of my friends..." He said, glancing back at the small piles of rocks.

"Rest assured, everything is going as the Ark wills it." Horobi says, nodding. "Obeying it will be the right course of action...For the destruction of humanity and for the sake of the Humagears itself." He says, having prepared his will for the grand battle that the Ark predicted would occur. The two returned to their hideout, in order to fully prepare themselves for the upcoming fight against AIMS.

However, there is one thing that neither the Ark nor Metsuboujinrai themselves had taken into account.

Suddenly, a hole tore open above, causing a lot of things to get sucked into it, but mostly him, and Jin. Panicking, Jin tried to hold onto a bunch of things, but only managed to retrieve 3 Zetsumerisers, 2 Zetsumerise Keys, and their Attache weapons. Their room left in a disarray as the portal seemingly closed for good.

Giffany-Torikago

"You poor girl!" Yamane Suzu thumbed tears off Giffany's eyes.

"My dear, you mustn't perform when you're going through things!" Kawasaki Hikaru, the one who "abducted" Giffany, wrapped a blanket around the sobbing pinkette's shoulders.

"Whatever are you saying!" Spat Takeshita Koji. "One must be willing to take to the stage, no matter what!"

"Oh, Koji-san, you are so insensitive." Kawahara Michiko rolled her eyes. "Even if she did follow that belief, she is quite clearly wet behind the ears."

"I only just arrived..." Giffany sniveled. "I didn't even mean to upstage you girls."

"No harm done." Little Tashiro Miyako sat against a corner, sewing something together. "At least you waited until Kawahara finished.
Unlike a certain other girl."

"You just seem so confused." Uyeno Masayoshi patted her head. "But you still tried, and that's quite impressive for someone who just walked on a stage for the first time."

"But I haven't..." Giffany answered sheepishly. "I've walked onto the stage of Hoo-Ha's Pizzamatronic Jamboree lots of times, to help fix the animatronics."

"'Hoo-Ha's'?!" The six idols screeched, grimacing.

"What's wrong?"

"You poor thing, you must have been programmed by some immature high schoolers!" Cried Takeshita. "No wonder you have that stained maid's outfit!"

"Oh!" With a sharp blush, Giffany struggled to cover the pizza stains. "This was my fault. It's just pizza."

"An idol must be treated with more respect than that!" Takeshita poked her finger in the air. "You must have run away from your old, abusive master. Come! We must get you fitted for a proper outfit."

Tashiro stood up, a noticable gleam of excitement in her eye.

When the transport finally came to a halt, it didn't look at first like it had arrived anywhere meaningful, as a glance towards any direction only revealed more lush jungle and wildlife. Their true destination would only reveal itself only once they exited the vehicle. That's when a perfect square patch of grass began rumbling softly before emerging from its surroundings, lifting up plantlife, ground and then shiny steel above the ground level until it sloped into the form of a bunker's entrance. Right in its center, a staircase invited them in a long, well-lit descent into the continent's entrails.

At the other end of the tunnel, our interdimensional heroes were met with an explosion of technology, be it from the automated mechanisms opening the doors, the dashing look of the furniture and architecture or the dozens of flat screens hanging from some of the walls. Those displayed a multitude of locations and angles of the forest they just came from, often following one or more specific monsters with visual overlays informing their heartbeat rate and temperature. The base's residents also matched its aesthetic: Many of them wore labcoats and glasses, discussing complex biological terms with one another as they stared at the flat screens or paced through the corridors. Not much after they arrived, a white-haired man holding a clipboard walked up to them and said:

"Welcome back! Any luck with the beast?"
"Not yet." Cassie admitted with a scowl. "We'll resupply and head on out again later. But I did find some new faces along the way." She added on a lighter tone.
"That I see." The man said. "Pleased to meet you, visitors. I'm Dr. Hartman, head of staff here at Genesis Labs. Care for a little tour? We are always excited about showing our work to the world." He added with a smirk and a nod.
"Go on ahead." Encouraged Cassie. "Rest and gear up as much as you need. Once you're ready, we'll be waiting on you here to head on out for our first mission."

- 1 hour later -

It was certainly no easy trip to arrive here - the jungle was rugged and filled with dangerous, curious eyes stalking each figure that passed by, ready to lunge at the first sign of weakness. But surely enough, the flora and fauna eventually gave in way to a large, barren dirt clearing that spawned kilometers wide and long. In its core, a fortress of wooden stakes stood defiantly at the wilderness that surrounded it, a wooden signpost with the words "Welcome to Laurelia, land of the strong!" carved into it hanging out proudly. The denizens there would all make Cassie and her men's gears look like civlillian outfits in comparison: spiked chestplates, fur capes and oversized gauntlets were the norm here, often highlighting the muscled builds of their bearers. They spared not a glance at the adventurers as they arrived - the fortress' gate laid right open for those who dared step into it.

Inside, the fortress seemed slgihtly more technological that it would appear at first; some of the buildings sported flat screens to their sides and the notice board right by the entrance definitely had some electrical components to it. The road further ahead split into four paths. The middle one led to a massive stone arena, built much like an oversized version of the famous roman colosseum. Not far from it, the second path led to a large, dome-like building adorned with mammoth tusks and hides, the only place protected by guards. The final two paths led around and behind those two main buildings, one heading uphill into a bundle of opulent, shiny homes, the other delving into the shadow and the dirt to lead into a large pool of slums that hid under the shadow of the arena.

It hadn't been one minute since their arrival when the first noteworthy event took place. A generic-looking warrior was minding his own business as he took a stroll around the main plaza when a golden blur came crashing from the sky and slammed into the ground in front of him, shaking the floor around and sending dirt into the air around the landing crater. Some of the passerbies seemed startled by the scene, some pumped, and some were merely relieved that they weren't in the place of the poor man near the landing zone, as he was now facing an absolute monster of a man clad in golden barbarian armor. And said barbarian looked pissed out of his mind.

"YOU!" He roared, making the warrior flinch. "YOU DARE TAKE V1K1NG'S PREY WHILE HE WASN'T LOOKING? THE V1K1NG CHALLENGES YOU TO A DUEL. RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. FOR YOUR HONOR!"

Suddenly, the screens on the buildings all lit up. They read:

A DUEL HAS BEEN CALLED. PROCEED TO THE ARENA AND PLACE YOUR BETS!

Sarika Drora

Sarika.jpg

From the moment they set foot in the labs, Sarika's jaw dropped and did not seem to show any signs of returning to its place. What was this place? How did this magic work? Why is everyone dressed like that? Questions overwhelmed her busy mind as she made an effort to keep up with the group's pace and all the new information. She watched curiously as the two exchanged information, but uttered not a word until the doctor had fully introduced himself and offered the tour, her expression softening in response to his offer. Even still, her first reaction was to turn back to the others - Robert especially, being the most lasting friend of them - and said:
"...Should we follow him? Should anyone be hurt or tired, we ought to rest a bit first..."

Right in its center, a staircase invited them in a long, well-lit descent into the continent's entrails.
Gretel would glance around as the transport would cease one hour after she and few others had set foot onto it - and as she glanced around, she would be taken aback with what she 'did' see. "Ooh... Look at this..." She said in quiet fascination as she beheld it all - she liked the look of this place right away! Inviting, well-kept, and that's without the other contents she is there for. Curious to see what else there is, she would be about to head down the tunnel, until someone appeared shortly. "OK, good, I was getting worried there was literally no other signs of intelligent life in here." Gretel said honestly and bluntly, then shrugging to those who glanced at her after she spoke those words.
"Go on ahead." Encouraged Cassie. "Rest and gear up as much as you need. Once you're ready, we'll be waiting on you here to head on out for our first mission."
It is in that moment Gretel stopped and thought - this place, if she is to be here for a while, is checking all the boxes 'and' she can take the doctor (at least a 'kind' of doctor) up on that tour offer to get to see what there is? This is all too perfect, a grin gracing the girl's face. "Now isn't that a treat... I've been looking to learn as much as I can as it is, so this works out very, very nicely." She said to him, nodding as if to accept his tour offer. "I'd be glad to see what is gathered here - no less learn about it for myself... If able to do so, of course." She added, trying to remain as passive as possible while still trying to show her interest in the topic at hand.

  • Hazor's eyes brighten when you say that you will assist and he is quick to let you know how exactly you can help him. "Excellent, I will not forget your kindness." he beams. "There are actually a couple ways you can help out. First is with the upcoming leader's meeting for Polaria which is happening tomorrow, and having witnesses who saw what happened to the boiler first hand would no doubt be appreciated to have supporting me." he explains to the group. Junkyard Jack looks as if he's about to say something about that suggestion but he ultimately stays quiet. "Alternatively... if you don't want to involve yourselves in our politics there is something else you can do to assist. If you could get the Neonian Bureau of Investigation to help us we might be able to track down this saboteur once and for all. The NBI are headed by a man named Alucard, you should be able to find them at their headquarters in New Earth." Hazor continues on before turning to Samus. "And as for you I don't think we've seen anyone with your kind of armour before, but you should go with Jack here. If he can't find someone to help repair it, at the very least he should be able to find some adequate replacement parts for you. He might have an update for how your ship repairs are going too" he sniffles for a bit before turning back to the group. "With whatever you decide to do I do hope you enjoy the rest of your time here in Polaria. If you go to guest lodging I'll arrange for you all to have rooms free of charge if you'd like. And here, since you managed to help get things back to normal so swiftly please accept this bonus reward too" he says, handing you all another 50 000 on top of what you were already rewarded.
Tani saw the credits just paid out to her and the others, another 50 thousand each (incredibly generous), and she listened to the options. Tani opted to go for option 2 - attending with the NBI, but for now, she wanted to go and relax. She heard what Hazor said and nodded, showing a thumbs up. "Geez, too kind! Heck, what to use all this on..." She said to herself and opted to go around exploring for a bit, treading around and taking her time carefully. She doesn't head straight to the lodgings, and instead decided to see what this place, Polaria, had to offer.

Emperor Gargan
Newerth, Neon Haven

Gargan stood behind for a few seconds as he watched Thomas walk away. For that time, he stood there with a confused face before groaning in annoyance and following Thomas. He still doesn't believe this "magic" stuff is real. Thomas is probably just saying that to impress the more primitive creatures also following him without confusing them. The Noizoid Emperor figured that all the magic he spoke so highly about was really just done with science. The question is, will the technology here be advanced enough to help treat his condition? His kind would be able to remove the excess lava trapped in his body, but he has no way of contacting them at the moment. He isn't even sure if they're still okay...

He glanced down at the little robot as he trailed behind Thomas with a mildly irritated face. "I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I'm afraid to inform you that this 'magic' he speaks of does not exist. At least, not the kind with wizards and witches. What does exist is science and reason! Ignore him, he's likely exaggerating." The Emperor scoffed before continuing. "You're a robot, so you were made with technology. Embrace it. What is your name, little one?" This entire conversation was audible to Thomas as well as anyone else in the group. Gargan left a trail of lava droplets as he moved about.

Mao Mao-Tropic
After what felt like months of just flying straight through the tropics, Mao Mao had finally brought himself and Yang to an enormous wooden fortress. "I admire the resourcefulness." The cat mused, taking the Aero-Cycle in for a smooth landing. Getting to stretch his legs felt amazing, like he had just emerged from a chrysalis. His joints cracked and popped with every move they made. "Now, we'd better see what the deal is around here."

No sooner had he stepped inside did Mao Mao witness a duel being called in the most barbaric way possible, with some golden-clad man almost crushing him like a meteorite. "He reminds me of my dad. Mostly because of the armor." He whispered to Yang. "I don't know about you, but I'm willing to see what a good old fashioned duel looks like around here! Let's find that arena!"

CHRISTIAN BRUTAL SNIPER
Christian Brutal Sniper.PNG
Where the hell are we going? There's nothing but trees and grass everywhere. I spent my time sharpening my weapons and throwing knives into trees to keep myself from dying from boredom. It took me some time to notice that people were leaving the vehicle and I planted one last knife into a tree before hopping off myself. I stood on top of the square looking everywhere with my hands on my hips, trying to find the reason why we stopped. I felt the ground beneath me shiver as I looked down to witness it. I scrambled to get away from the square pulling my blades out in the process only to see it to be just an entrance.

I hope to God nobody saw how frightened I was.
---
I looked around in pure awe, look at this place! We don't get technology like this back in 2Fort, there were even scientists talking about some dumb nerd shit. Wow, I don't know what they're talking about but I feel informed and intelligent just by listening to them. Enough about them though, let's introduce myself to this head of staff as he calls himself.

I doffed my hat to him with a smile.

"The name's Christian Brutal Sniper! Just say 'Christian' or 'Sniper' for short." I politely introduced myself. "A tour won't be needed, I'll get a feel to the place myself."

Lelouch was getting his bag ready to head out and continue his plans for destroying the empire of, Britannia! he checked his bag one more time, his zero outfit was in there with all of the pieces, a simple pistol was there just in case he ran into trouble along the way that needed more handling then with what he could do (a safety countermeasure). With all that settled, he picked up his bag, and approached the door, thinking this would all go as it usually would, meeting Rolo, changing into his outfit, and then heading out to be zero. Although it seems fate had a different sort of plan for him, as of opening the door, there was a strange portal that opened up and sucked him in, the only thing he had time for was a shocked reaction until he was completely gone. Upon landing in the ruins, he quickly looked around to gather himself, what was the cause of this? was this the same situation with the island? no, at least that had some similar things and he wasn't sent too far off from where the battle was taking place, these city ruins didn't look familiar at all from anything he remembered. He would step outside of the building and looked around, taking note of the entirety of the ruins, the seemingly fine looking tower, although nothing else seemed to give way. "Well well, it looks like I'm completely lost, with no one around to ask to try and figure out where I am" most would probably start to worry about the weight of the situation, but a slight smirk would make it's way on his face "Well then, whether someone caused this on purpose or it was on accident, it will most certainly be fun to solve" and with that in mind, he would begin to make his way carefully to the tower, keeping a steady walking pace but also keeping wary of what was around him, it was just him now without his companions to help him...

Looking around the room it really reminded him of the sort of technology that was in chaldea...huh and the man seemed to be offering a tour, while Cassie was talking about for them to rest and gear up for a mission? Well then that should be its own sort of fun when it comes around, and then Sarika herself seemed to be completely in awe at the technology here, that is right, she would most likely not know anything like this from where she came from. To respond to Sarika, he gave a nod "I am not that hurt or tired from the battling, so I wouldn't at all mind a tour of this place, I appreciate the offer as well" and seeing as there most likely won't be a battle in here, he would focus and the spear in his hand, his noble phantasm would fade away.

The young man seemed to space out for a few seconds, his finger tapping thin air like a keyboard with blinding speed. Then, he looked back at the group, sniffled, and said: "I've notified him that you’ll be joining him shortly. He’s a tall man in a trenchcoat. Hard to miss, if you ask me. I… Should get going for Pioneer before they call me. I wish you best of luck."

With a forced smirk and a nod, Hazor departed from the main group and was headed for the train station when a sudden influx nearly knocked him over to his feet. It was a fully-geared television crew, recently arrived and already inquiring the locals all about the recent crisis. It didn’t take long until fingers were pointed at the main group of visitors and, following the lead, the team set up shop right next to them, wasting not a second before going live.

(If you’re in any of Neon Haven’s settlements, all nearby screens will show the following sequence)

No matter what the screens were showing - be it a tv show, an ad or even an announcement - they were cut short as the TV flashed pitch black. From the sudden silence, an upbeat and tense jingle erupted and a logo jumped on screen, two slanted red “N”s sliding along a dash from opposite sides of the screen until meeting at the middle. They stayed in place for a brief moment as a stern voice announced:

“This is NN, interrupted your scheduled programming to bring breaking news.”

Following the announcement, the two letters retreated into their sides, each bringing alongside them half of the black screen and revealing a cliché news anchor counter over a blue background. Sitting behind it, a young man and woman wearing light white and black armor awaited for the cue, then slanted their chin up ever so slightly to catch sight of something behind the camera. They began speaking, alternating with each line:

“The residents of Polaria faced through a frightening situation just now, this afternoon.”

“A sudden shut-down of the A/C system caused the temperature inside the underground base to drop well below zero, with cases of frostbite and hype-o… Hypot… a-hem, very cold people being reported by the dozens!”

“Thankfully, our sources just confirmed that the situation has been solved. And by a group of foreigners, no less! Our reporter N3xtman is on the site with more news.”

The transmission cut to a thinly built, black-haired boy holding a microphone next to a clear shot of the group that was just talking to Hazor. With a hand over his ear, he nodded and then began speaking:
1587233703851.png

"Thank you, Bob.This is N3xtman reporting directly from Polaria's base. It's chilling cold here, but it’s already getting warm again thanks to the quick work of these brave few good samaritans.”
With a glance and a quick step, he moved in closer to the Evelynn, who was closest to him, and resumed speaking:
“I'm standing right here with this young lady for more information. Would you mind sharing your name with us?"
1587235792699.png
"I am Evelyn lucina the fourth of the golden branch!" The young lady looked at the cameras confusedly, wondering why they’re pointing them at her.
"...Gotcha. Well, miss Eve, I can see that you're not a resident of Neon Haven. Can you tell us what inspired you to risk yourself over the lives of Polaria's residents?"
"Well, I simply just wish to be able to do what I can to assist wherever I go! and although ending up here was strange, I will still be as heroic as I can!"
"Textbook response! Now, on to the big question... You've been there, you've fixed the problem. Just between you and me, do you have any idea what could have caused it?”
"Well I believe someone may have snuck in through the door seeming to lead outside, whoever they are I hope to be helping the people who also attempt to find the evil doer!"
N3xtman gasped, then said:
"You think a person did this? This is shocking news! How come?"
"Well there appeared to be footprints leading into the room from the door! So it would be safe to assume someone must have done it" The reporter stared at the screen for a moment to add:
"You've heard it from here first, folks, we have a saboteur on the loose!” He looked back at the lady clad in armor one last time to say: “Thank you very much for your participation, miss Eve. Do you have anything else to add?"
"Well if anyone ever needs help with some manner of beast or another problem like this arises, I'll be happy to assist anyway I can!"
"I feel safer already! This has been N3xtman, back to you Bob and May."
Back at anchors’ counter, Bob and May were both staring at each other, hoping for a cue on how to proceed. Bob shrugged and then returned their attention to the screen. This time, there’d be no prompt to read up on.

“It’s a relief to see there are still good people out there. Our skills and passives are with the people of Polaria in these difficult times.”

“We’ll be providing more news in our main channel as the situation progresses. Thank you for tuning in to NN!”

(End transmission.)

Polaria - Cindy

PolikShadowbliss PolikShadowbliss

The hangar is the most spacious chamber in Polaria, with a tall ceiling and spaceships of all kinds littered across the smooth concrete floor, ranging from small and elegant to massive and sturdy. It was a busy place, teeming with pilots and crew fighting through the cold winds of the arctic to perform maintenance and loading/unloading of the ships. Those ready to leave were equipped with a special belt-like structure and then brought over to the launch site.

The map pointed to one of the darkest, coldest corners of the hangar. It was basically a shipwreck junkyard filled with rust-laden hunks of metal, to useless for anyone to even bother checking. The map further described a specific design for the ship, “Red, cone-shaped with blue ailerons”, which only one ship happened to match.

Before Cindy could progress, though, a loud noise of a fist banging against a table came from the room she just left, followed by hurried footsteps heading towards the door. Someone had figured out the note had been stolen, and they didn’t seem one bit happy about it.

Polaria - Hot Springs

BoltBeam BoltBeam

As Tani arrived at the hot springs, she was greeted with smooth, shiny rocks making up the walls, wooden planks for the floor and a wide space to walk around. To the left, there was a bar counter with the sharply dressed brown-haired young man know as Tequilla trying to rearrange a wall of drinks with those that hadn’t fell and broken during the scramble. To the right, she could find the hot springs itself, surrounded by a couple of screens for changing; its water was just beginning to reclaim a nice and warm temperature. There were towels, robes and swimsuits scattered around the place as well as as large sign by the water that read "NO NUDITY ALLOWED! PLEASE DON'T INSIST".
FJsykwP4WxVNCUDb99M4Gmxjh5prAEMWwHem8rxNw7ZjwLHED7nltMYCX8D19zHFP7hfWDBivjieqfrTQYPH9mVvb3XPGMtpk2eTdI-48NMuOsQHURojJ78yPwsyqn3Ps71o69Ko

“Oh, a visitor already!” Tequilla greeted. He searched under the counter a bit, then produced a diminute glass and a handkerchief. Folding the handkerchief, he crafted a fun-sized mat over the counter and placed the glass in front of it. “Please, take a seat. The least I could do to thank you is offer you a drink to warm the spirit, free of charge. What would you like?”

"That isn't good!"

Cindy smirks a bit though, thinking that there's no way the man could suspect a tiny person of taking his precious plans but nevertheless, she should hide. But where? Being tiny as she was, there were plenty of hiding places to choose from, but one thing was certian, she needed to act and fast. Almost without thinking, she flew further up into the ceiling and dived down onto one of the ships, slipping in through the engines.

Ruby extended her hand towards Amanda, facilitating a handshake should she take it. However, the bug-girl she was speaking with shied away from her attempts to socialize with her. She knew what was going on, and did not want to leave her hanging.

Especially since Ruby had gone through the same things as her when she, too, was teleported.

[div class=rText]"...What's wrong?"[/div]

Suddenly, as coincidence would have it, someone had landed right behind her and grabbed her attention. With chills speeding throughout her spine, her silver pupils dilated as the friendly expressions disappeared, anxiety and terror re-entering Ruby's head afterwards. Immediately, she gasped, then quickly got up from her seat, turning towards them.

Not "them", her own splitting image.

...

[div class=rText]Wait.

She looks familiar. Really familiar. I--I don't know why, but I can't help but think I see a lot of me in her, and to think she just popped up from outta nowhere just...who is she?

Okay, so she looks a lot like me, and...and what can I say? She has the same haircut, the same cape, the same combat skirt--holy cow, even the same face...just different colors, really. But there is no way that thing's not me! What if she went to the same Beacon as me, but different? What if she had the same Team RWBY, but different? There's so many possibilities that I haven't even begun the surface!

You know what, that girl is almost certainly me! If that's not my splitting image, I don't know what else is! I gotta make friends with her![/div]

...

[div class=rText]"...Wait a minute. Are you..."[/div]

Ruby began, squinting as she pointed part towards her, her finger arched downwards as she continued to examine her clone's visual traits. She did not say anything as thoughts barraged her head and left her wondering about her counterpart. Then, her eyes widened, breathing in a large amount of air as a smile formed on her mouth.

[div class=rText]"...ME? Oh my God, it's like looking through a mirror!"[/div]

Ruby suddenly burst into pure excitement, boosting up right to her face as she haphazardly pointed at the blue streaks on her hair and the stark colors of blue on her cape.

[div class=rText]"Y-Y-Y--You're blue, just like I'm red! And since roses are red and violets are blue, it's 'Ruby' and 'Violet' between me and you!"[/div]

Ruby pointed at her cape and combat skirt, this time pointing back at her own while she proceeded to create quick-and-dirty comparisons between the two Rubies.

[div class=rText]"You have a cape, just like me! And you have a combat skirt, too! And...and..!"[/div]

She squealed as soon as she realized that "Violet"'s hair had cowlicks on the sides, color that intensified as the strands extended towards their ends, and a side longer than the other, just like her own.

[div class=rText]"...We even have the same hair!"[/div]

That wasn't all; as soon as she took another look at "Violet" to make sure she waas making the right comparisons, she spotted what appeared to be a shotgin with a bayonet on her back. She wasted no time boosting right behind her and then pointing at it.

[div class=rText]"Oh-my-gosh-you even have a classic shotgun with a bayonet! Not many people appreciate the classics these days, but you and Jaune do!"[/div]

Finally, her voice squeaked in joy as she finished, fists raised to her cheeks and squeezing against them.

It went on.

Yang and Mao Mao drove through vast troves of the forest, sprawling across the two's journey to civilization. Untold stories of fallen warriors who fought vigilantly against the imps were countless, waiting to eventually be traced and told once and for all. Dark, red eyes stared at our heroes as what seemed like hours went on.

For Yang, she's been there. Well, kinda.

The times she's driven her motorcycle back on Patch, she ventured on paths with functionally the same forests on its sides, sometimes with Ruby. Back there, she would see the occasional red eyes staring back, much like here. Yet, this was different; there were much more hostiles watching in the shadows than in Patch. There was a longer-lingering feeling of forever that was moreso present here on the desolate world of Neon Haven.

Yang and Mao Mao did all they could to pass the time; talking about each other's worlds, humoring each other... Everything. But alas, there was only so much they could do while they drove down to Laurelia. And as they did, Yang thought about Ruby.

...

[div class=yText]It was obvious why I exploded when I thought those imps killed my little sis; I picked up the pieces for her when she was very young, her mom disappeared, and dad just shut down. Not one part of me wants to see that go to waste in mere moments.

Why?

It's like I'm the only one who realizes how much Ruby needs someone who can care for, and I was the only one who could do that. I never got to grew up like Ruby, but thanks to me, she grew up just like every other kid on the block. And there's moments like her geeking out about weapons, that make me glad all I did to care for her paid off ultimately in the end.

I can only imagine how different she would've been had I not been there for her.

...

After what seemed like an eternity, Yang and Mao Mao arrived at Laurelia's gates.

[div class=yText]"God, finally."[/div]

It was an interesting sight for sure; the gates were made of wood, hinting towards a tribalistic, rather "prehistoric" society that the two were about to enter. The "kingdom"'s citizens reminded her somewhat of Team CRDL, whom one of its members bore a similarly punk-ish, armored style. That alone was enough to elicit uneasy thoughts about the place and, by proxy, its society.

The "land of the strong" tagline did not help either.

[div class=yText]'Is this what I think it is?'[/div]

As Yang and Mao Mao entered the fortress, the Huntress-in-Training observed the place for what it was. There was some technology spread across the buildings, but for the most part they were still rather primitive by heart. Out in the distance was a massive stone colosseum, reminiscent of a much more primitive Vytal Colosseum from the past, of which she had seen drawings and pictures before. Maybe that was where the tagline came from.

And then V1K1NG happened. All she did was to watch him explode on a random passerby. Apparently, he stepped over the line where it wasn't...ideal to say the least.

[div class=yText]'...Yes, it is.'[/div]

Just then, Mao Mao compared the barbaric warrior to his own father. Whatever he said did not bode well with her,

[div class=yText]'Isn't it right in front of us?'[/div]

Then, she had an idea. A devilish little smile, straight from Hell, formed suddenly on her face.

[div class=yText]"Yeah, I'll bite."[/div]

Without warning, she hopped off Mao Mao's Aero-cycle and walked up towards V1K1NG. She was going to prove just how strong this "land of the strong" really was.

[div class=yText]"Sounds like someone needs to knock a peg down a little."[/div]

(Admittedly short) Equatorial GM Post
"...you have to be kidding me."
Max just put a palm over his face as he watched Nanome run for it. The XCOM commander had dealt with shellshocked veterans before, but this was just ridiculous.
"Well, guess that's one person out of this little ship recovery thing. I'd rather not employ mind control, because I save that for hostiles. Uhhhh, hrmmmm..."
"Be back, officer. We'll talk later."

"...oh boy."
And with that, the beret-wearing detective sped off to go chase Nanome down before she did something stupid, failing to notice Anna and Bob while on the move. Jim, being a Ghost and unable to really give chase, just gave a disappointed shake of the head. It would seem this search for Fighter-07 would be put on hold.
Nanome would find a junkyard, but the place only had scrap metal and the odd component.

Assault Unit 1787, designation Smokestack
Status: Slightly Distressed
Actions: Attempting to contact NC HQ
1587256135063.png
To anyone observant or watching Smokestack, one thing that would immediately be made clear is that Smokestack was quiet the entire time.
Oh, he was moving, alright. But he wasn't talking nor extolling the virtues of his homeland. This was very un-Smokestack like seeing as he was laughing while condemning many Imps to a fiery death.
The truth is, Smokestack may be patriotic and boisterous but he was no fool. Smokestack was indeed talking, just not to the party.
He was talking to his homeland via an encrypted transmission, which would be silent to the ears.
"Smokestack here, comrades. Testing, is this transmission coming through?"
"We're experiencing heavy disruptions, comrade, but we're starting to resolve this. Hold fast, as of only now can our communications technology can be reliably used to contact you. We are preparing to find a way to, ah, manipulate the rift to send reinforcements. Send status report, over."

"Our brothers and sisters in the research department have their work cut out for them. Encountered unidentified multiple hostile organics, all terminated. Also encountered humans who surprisingly didn't try to kill me, leading me to suspect that whatever this rift is, its scope is much bigger than our scientists' initial theories. I am currently enlisted in some foolish human's army as a cover-they'll make a good distraction once our forces touch down."
"Affirmative, comrade. Maintain your cover. We are experiencing technical difficulties in preparing invasion forces for transport through the rift. Hold fast."
"Understood."

Smokestack shook his head, a yellow light coming back through his visor.
"Take a break, mission later. Can't be that hard."

Violet was effectively stunned by her imposter’s blind joy and overall friendliness! For a moment, she saw terror and uncertainty in “Ruby’s” eyes and felt a slight glorification in instilling that reaction in the imposters mind, but then that terror turned to unrepentant joy and she could only just stand there as Ruby literally zoomed around inspecting every inch of her as if she were a doll!

“Ummm” was all she could manage as Ruby started to list the similarities off but then she mentioned Jaune and her fist clenched.

Jaune that elitist asshole. Always bragging about his stupid skills and superior training. It didn’t help that he could enhance his own aura to severe magnitudes. Making himself invincible. He even beat the musket girl. Though to be fair, anyone can beat the musket girl, she wasn’t very tough. But it still hurt to watch.

Memories in general hurt. Which was why she didn’t like revisiting them.

The stunned silence lasted for a bit as Violet progressed her counterpart‘s erratic behavior.

Then.

“Um, yeah, fun. Heh.” Her golden eyes meets her counterparts silver ones, her kind friendly eyes. Crap she couldn’t be her snappish self around this .... thing.

“You’re right on target. I’m a member of the esteemed Beacon Academy. Also leader of Team VCW....Y.”

Yin. Violet had thought that she had died during her insane episode, but she turned up in Beacon Academy completely healthy and very much alive. And though some sense of complete irony, ended up on HER team! She had thought that maybe just maybe they would reconcile. And they did. Sort of. Yin still has her episodes though and without Violet there to calm her down, who knows what may happen.

Violet, Chernyy, White, and Yin. Her team.

She closed her eyes. Remembering the portal. It’s been weeks. No doubt the damn fools were still searching for her. She was their leader. Or they would have given up. They weren’t exactly close, not even her own sister.

Samus-Polar Cap
Samus watched the broadcast with misty eyes. She was a hero, as usual. She was being held with gratitude, as usual.

But her friends didn't know where she was. They would never see her being congratulated after she helped save an entire colony. The reason it never felt so lonely was that she knew she would always come back to her friends. Without them...What now? All she had left was her leader, who was disfigured to the point where they struggled to comprehend each other. She had no magic, she wasn't an expert on brain damage or physical disfigurement. She couldn't help Mario. Only protect him.

Right now, she was leaning against a window, her tired eyelids fluttering. She didn't see Galeem or Dharkon in the sky. She couldn't see any spirits floating around, either. This must've been the one world untouched by those two. But that meant it was also the one world nobody from home would send a rescue party to. "If anyone's still capable of sending a rescue party, anyway..."

Giffany-Torikago
Giffany was sat on a stool by the idols, as they held measuring tapes and fabrics of numerous colors in front of her eyes. The whole time, she twiddled and twitched.

"My dear, you've got to stay still!" Kawasaki gently held Giffany's shoulders.

"Oh! Sorry, girls..." Giffany muttered. "Look, this is super nice, and I appreciate this, but I've got to go home to Mitsur-"

"Not if she dresses you like this!" Kawahara objected.

"You're going to like this dress a lot better." Tashiro remarked softly, sketching a headpiece.

"I really don't need another dress." Giffany answered humbly. "My clothes are in fine shape."

"You shouldn't be seen dead in this maid's clothing!" Takeshita retorted, removing Giffany's apron. "I suppose the gown color does complement your hair, but there must be more to you than a maid!"

"Not much else complements, though."

"I can fix that!"
Giffany beamed, concentrating fiercely. Her hair turned a pretty minty green, making the idols' eyes sparkle! One by one, they expressed their awe.

"Wow, I wish I could do that!"

"How amazing! Why would you ever hide such an ability!"

"My, you could even change it to suit your mood, couldn't you?" Uyeno held her cheeks in her palms, staring at Giffany with intense interest.

"Sure can!" Giffany pretended to become sad, and her hair turned a dark gray.

"Amazing!"

"Isn't it? I was never sure if it was sloppy programming, or having octopus genes."

"...Ew."
The six wrinkled their noses.

Looking to return to my place of origin, but my traveling buddy and I have been riding up to this town for hours, and we are both just about raring to go!" He glanced around, chuckling. LOCATION: NEON HAVEN; POLAR CAP (Bar Area)

News travelled fast here as it did back home, and likewise, the press never let a good crisis go to waste. As the crew and cameras set up around them, and the broadcast and interview began, Takemi just stood completely still. As nice as it was to get even more recognition for what they’d done, given the fact that the perpetrator was still out there, she figured it was best if her face wasn’t plastered all over the region. Although, despite the focus being on Evelyn’s testimony, Takemi being on the news was unavoidable, purely because of her being in the area to begin with. Damn. At least the whole section was mercifully short, so she could get back to the task at hand. The only problem: Hazor hadn’t told them how to get to New Earth.

Based on what he said, it didn’t sound like it would be a long trip, even by train. Well, there was no point in worrying about it, especially since she could always just ask someone what to do. She knew just the person too.

She retraced her path down to the bar area where Tequilla was already setting up shop again, and Tani sat waiting for a drink. Takemi walked up to them, and retrieved her abandoned shoes that had somehow made it through untrampled and unstolen.

“Hello again,” she said, “sorry, but I can’t stay and chat; I told Hazor-san that I’d go to New Earth and talk to the NBI about what happened here for him, which uh, speaking of,” she tried to laugh it off, “can you tell me how to get there. I figure that transit’s gonna be pretty different from back home.” Please don’t let it be crowded, please don’t let it be crowded.

Tani Sako
  • "Alright, I figure Alucard could use all the help he can get." Hazor told the main group.

Tani would nod in listening - a tall man in a trenchcoat, yeah shouldn't be too hard to miss at all! Tani would then suddenly notice the crowd that gathered near the others she had just left, and not wanting to be caught in the eyes of 'the world' (almost), Tani promptly picked up the pace and ran for it. Only problem, her exposure to it as an event was still imminent, courtesy of nearby screens, yet she wandered while indirectly listening to all of it - yet the doll opted to just deny it all for the time being.

Tani sighed and thought about it aloud. "Hypothermia was spun in like crazy as a result of what happened in there, and the culprit is anonymous and on the loose..." She said, trying to think on it but unfortunately getting far until she looked up and had found herself at... hot springs? Tani beamed immediately and looked around - there was even a bar, that's a bonus! "Ooh, lookie!" Tani promptly went up to approach - she had found something to keep her busy for a while, though how this will go is anyone's guess, but it 'is' a good start.

Per the offer, Tani laughed and climbed up onto a vacant seat and shrugged. "I dunno, to be honest. If I could drink to begin with in this thing, I probably would though." She admitted, hoping she didn't hurt the guy right away - at least in some form. "Though I can't say I'm opposing the look, if... that's still OK?" Tani said nervously, and it is in that moment she would hear Takemi enter and question to he who is now attending to them both, Tani going quite while she spoke. It is in that moment she noticed the sign and couldn't help but manage a stifled laugh - it's that bad here, apparently? 'As if a sign is going to work.' Tani thought to herself callously.

Rein PNG.png
Rein Lyren
Location: Pryden Airport
[Open to Interaction]
Rein’s face was sullen. His eyes hung low and dared not meet the gazes of his friends. He was to be granted a warrior’s sendoff and to be “buried” with his arms and armor. Rarely is a man alive to see his own funeral, but here he was—a man just moments away from being dead to the ones he fought beside days earlier. A hot, muggy warmth hung over the hall the procession had gathered in and the dance of raindrops colliding with the cathedral roof above them provided the only reprieve from an unbreakable silence. Rein didn’t blame his friends. He couldn’t. The words he had thought he wanted to share slipped from his thoughts and all he could muster was a pained smirk that pulled aside, if only briefly—the dark haze of uneasiness that had settled over the group, yet he felt their heavy gaze continue digging into his downcast frame.

Flanked on either side by several mages and them by priests a low hum and song filled the hall. Each word seemed to stretch and bend across the large expanse of the cathedral while still managing to plant themselves firmly in the heart of every listener and the serenity of what had begun finally gripped Rein; he was about to venture to a place from which there was no return. His motivations pounded at the anvil of his brain and with each strike of the hammer they strengthened the blade of his will into something more formidable than moments before.
He was a threat. This was the best choice for everyone.

There was a loud shout this time from one of the mages and they began a solemn chant as the previously drawn magical circle on the ground came to life with a pale, blue glow. Perhaps just to avoid reality, Rein’s head craned upward for the first time today and he came eye-to-eye with his former companions. Each of them respectfully watching his final moments. His heart shrunk for a moment and for seconds after that nothing followed. If not for a slow, heavy beat the boy would have thought himself dead as his heart shrieked in anxiety and this emotion pried Rein’s lips apart. “I will be going now. Thank you. Really...The glow of the circle beneath began to intensify to a blinding amount yet none could pry their eyes away from the final moments of a hero “… and I am sorry.” Rein hadn’t thought about what kind of impression that’d leave his companions with. What kind of questions would they have after that? What kind of answers could they receive from a dead man? Rein only said what was on his mind as the light numbed his body and his eyes fell shut.

What happened next felt like an eternity: Serenity, Peace, and moments free from the mountainous baggage of life. The loving caress of nothingness followed as it whispered into his ear “
No responsibilities. No worries. Nobody to protect.” Words he had wanted to hear all his life but had turned away from. Then, a wash of warm air and the shuffle of footsteps rocked his moment of clarity. His eyes glazed in artificial light, but he fought the urge to open them. What is this? This wasn’t the void he was promised. Rein’s heart thumping like a drummer against his chest he begged for some omnipotent force to tell him that this was some joke, but as he finally caved and opened his eyes a strange complex laid before him brimming with people carrying bags and frantically running to and fro. His blood ran cold as an icy feeling swept through his veins and shot into his mind. Everything was slow. He couldn’t believe it. Rein had opted to be banished so he wouldn’t be able to hurt anyone but instead he ended up somewhere with more people and no friends. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? The hero lashed out at someone who wasn't listening or didn't care. His hand seemed pale and his mind clouded. What kind of joke is this…? Rein saw what appeared to be a row of seats next to him and he promptly made his way toward them which in this state required a staggering amount of effort. What kind of joke is this…? His legs finally gave out and he fell into one of the seats—an ocean of despair washing over his face.

Ruby eagerly leaned in towards Violet, hands clenched together below her waist, as she awaited what her doppelganger had to say. It took a while, but then she finally responded, sharing her sentiment concerning fun, however muted it may be.

And she was right about her name; if she were wrong, it would've been rather surprising.

[div class=rText]"Yup!"
Ruby said, standing upright again and giving Violet a prompt thumbs up, [div class=rText]"Fun indeed!"[/div]

After Violet stated what team she led -- something she had expected, really -- she proceeded to bring up her own.

[div class=rText]"And I'm the leader of Team RWBY!"[/div]

As she continued talking with her after the splitting image's sudden appearance, the way she acted had Ruby thinking.

- - - - -

[div class=rText]I can't help but to think that maybe she can be a bit like Uncle Qrow..?

I mean, she's got that aura around her that spells out "cool" and "badass", just like my uncle, who trained me to use a scythe. She's also got this...how do I describe it, "look" she has, I believe, and I think that plays into how she looks cool, just like Uncle Qrow![/div]

- - - - -

[div class=rText]"You, uh...remind me a bit of our uncle Qrow, y'know?"[/div]

Ruby was caught up just thinking about how Violet also resembled Qrow in terms of how she behaved and how her demeanor translated into her own appearance.

[div class=rText]"Yang and I have this mysterious, awesome uncle, who comes in swinging his scythe--"[/div]

Suddenly, Ruby remembered; nobody she was familiar with was here for her. Yang, Taiyang, Uncle Qrow, all the people she grew up with was gone. Weiss, Blake, Jaune, Pyrrha, Penny, all of her friends had suddenly vanished, with no sign of their whereabouts.

Without them, she was vulnerable.

[div class=rText]"...Just like me."[/div]

In a matter of seconds between then and now, her demeanor had changed all of a sudden. Gone was the bubbly, sweet personality that had contrasted Violet's stoicism. Ruby's head bowed, as she began to remiscine about her sister, Jaune, and everyone else she had made friends with.

She was on the verge of tears, and her voice was quivering.

As soon as Yang realized Mao Mao wanted in on the action, her pride only grew. V1K1NG was one, and that "one" alone could take on her, but she and Mao Mao were two. With the cunning strength of her Semblance and Mao Mao's vallant-ness, there was little way the two could easily lose to such a warrior.

The devilish smile remained, only this time, she also cracked her knuckles.

[div class=yText]"You better hope you have someone like him."[/div]

And then, she had a terrible realization.

- - - - -

[div class=yText]If Ruby is still alive by the time I find her, there's no way I'm not gonna have her walk off far from me again.

Ever since our family broke down, I cared for Ruby as if she was the only thing of any value left; and she was. Dad was still down from losing Summer and couldn't be here for us, because he was busy teaching at school. Raven...I didn't, and still don't even know where she went. Qrow, too, was busy teaching, and here I was, the only person who could stay for her.

So I made sure my baby sister was always close. Only after a long while did I start allowing her to go on her own, but even then, I made sure she was alright.

But at the same time, what am I even doing? Why am I even here, dealing with someone who shouldn't even be my worry when Ruby's life is on the line?

Why? Can't I just pull out now?

Well, it's too late for that now. Either I fight him now and lose track of what I have to do, or I leave now and get branded a "coward", when I'm not even one! And I'm the one who started this, when Mao Mao and I should be away, looking for her!

Oh, hell. Might as well dig deeper into whatever I put myself into.[/div]

- - - - -

The devilish smile dropped. Now, she only stared into V1K1NG's eyes as the irises on her eyes turned red. Whatever tone her voice carried was now nothing but a rolling, silent rage.
