"At least you did not have to be with a father that hated you."

 

[The Librarian]

...Aaaand now I felt like a whiny little jerk. I just couldn't win with this girl! "I, uhm...well, at least he can't push you around anymore.", I tried.

 

[Stormflame]

"Well when we get him back he would push me around," Amanda said quietly,"You will see." 
"At least you have not seen the scars he placed on my body," Amanda said,"Then you will understand." 
"So be thankful."

 

[The Librarian]

I blinked and said, very calmly, "Oh.". Then I grinned and laughed a bit, saying, "Well, you're just a font of new experiences. I've never felt this level of extreme bloodlust before.".


Giving her an easy smile, I asked serenely, "What did you say your dad's address was again? I wanna...show him a magic trick.". My fingers twitched, itching to wrap around the spiteful little worm's neck.

 

[Stormflame]

"Remember he was captured by a monster." 
"So that is almost impossible to do the 'magic trick'."

 

[The Librarian]

I put on a sad look and apologized, "Oh, sorry. I forgot. Well, I'm sure he wouldn't mind waiting while we take care of this quest. Which monster was it again?".

 

[Stormflame]

"I dont really know or care."

 

[The Librarian]

"Oh darn. Guess he's stuck there then...", I said, putting on a dismayed look. Then I looked up and spotted a leaf fluttering through the air. "Ooh, leaf...", I muttered.

 

[Stormflame]

"Whats wrong?" 
"When do you think we should stop for the night?"

 

[The Librarian]

"Hm? Oh, nothing. It's just that these leaves are really pretty.", I said with a smile, gesturing to the fall-colored leaves surrounding u- "Wait a minute.". I stopped, glaring around suspiciously at the yellows and browns, "It's the end of summer. Not even September yet. Why are the leaves these colors already?".

 

[Stormflame]

"Because of Gaea."

 

[The Librarian]

"Hrm.", I grumbled, resuming walking, "So either Persephone is hiding in the Underworld and Demeter is grieving, which is stupid because in the Underworld they're literally surrounded by Gaea, or Gaea is just overpowering Demeter's power.".


I sighed and admitted, "Neither thought is comforting.".

 

[Stormflame]

"Or Gaea is preparing to attack," I said,"I dont want to be here when she does. Even though Camb Half-Blood is my only home, I would rather survive than fight for my home. Maybe I should take Gaea's offer on being in her army full time, after all I am already helping her part time."

 

[The Librarian]

"I'm sorry, you're what the who now?!", I spluttered in shock. She was...she was helping...oh, di immortales, I needed to sit down...

 

[Stormflame]

"She said she would give my dad back... And just to let you know, Athena is not my real mother."

 

[The Librarian]

I stared at her oddly for a moment, then found my voice.


"Let me get this straight. You're helping the enemy we just set out to stop because she said she'd get your dad back, who you hate, oh and by the way you're a child of Athena but Athena isn't your mom.", I stated flatly, "That about right?".

 

[Stormflame]

"I am blessed by Athena so Chiron thought that it would be a good way to cover up who my mother really is. It helps if you know what to do," Amanda said as two earthborn monsters appeared in front of her.

 

[The Librarian]

"So if you're apparently helping Gaea, why is she sending monsters to attack you?", I asked her incredulously, stomping my foot. Spikes of ice shot up from the ground and impaled one of the monsters.

 

[Stormflame]

"I am calling the monsters," I growled and put my dagger's sharp point where my heart was,"Cant you see that she is forcing me to help her because she is my mother? You dont know that she is the one that caused me so much misery and pain. The one to cause my whole freaking existence. You would not get it. Why dont I just take myself out of it all. Dont you think that would be useful?" 
"At least you do not have a monster as a mom."

 

[The Librarian]

I deftly turned the obviously-delusional girl's dagger into a bouquet of flowers and gathered the residual energy from the first Earthborn, channeling it to my feet to fling myself at the second. "Well cut it out!", I shouted, plunging a conjured sword into its forehead and backflipping off its falling form, "It's annoying!".


Huffing as I let the weapon disintegrate, I walked over to the girl and flicked her on the nose. "First off, of course she caused your existance. That's sorta the entire point of mothers. Second, no I don't think that'd be the most useful thing you could do. It'd just be one less demigod to fight her. Third, don't you think she'd like it if you offed yourself?".


"Fourth, if you died, you'd only go to the Underworld, which is, if I may remind you, right in the middle of the person you're trying to avoid.", I informed her in a 'duh' tone. I turned and resumed walking, throwing casually over my shoulder, "Also, she's technically a Titan, not a monster.".

 

[Stormflame]

"You dont know her like I do," Amanda said madly. 
"She would not like it. You dont know me! You dont know what I have done!" 
"You dont even care. Im not sure if you even love me!" Amanda yelled,"Cant you see this is my curse? That I can never love anyone without them getting hurt?"

 

[The Librarian]

"We literally just met an hour ago.", I deadpanned.

 

[Stormflame]

"You dont know me well enough."

 

[The Librarian]

"Well, either I don't know you at all, or you're not sure if I even love you. Pick a side and stick to it, Princess.", I said coolly, crossing my arms and gazing expectantly at her.

 

[Stormflame]

"Why should I choose a side? When my side has been chosen before I was born?" 
"I cant pick a side."
