Percabeth

"You know I love you right. No matter what happens in the next few days or weeks. I always will." Percy whispered.

"I know." Annabeth then looked him in the eye, fingertips resting under his chin. "I love you too; no matter what."

Percy closes his eyes and swallows harshly. He had to say this before it was too late. He opened his mouth but nothing came out.

Annabeth looked at him, smile disappearing. "What?" She whispered, stormy grey eyes losing their spark, going dull with worry.

"W-What?" Annabeth stammered slightly, nervousness wracking her brain, leaving her motor skills slightly depreciated.

Percy swallowed. "If....If I don't make it. you need to promise me that you will go to New Rome and stay there. Safe. Promise me Wise Girl. I need you to." He stammered out.

Annabeth closed her eyes as pain hit her at the thought. She breathed in deep. "Neither of us are going. When we do, we're going together." She whispered.

Percy shook his head. "No. Annabeth. You have to promise me. Please!" He begged her, grabbing her hands tightly.

Annabeth Clenched her jaw. "I won't promise. I will try as hard as possible to get there, but I am not promising. I won't ever forgive myself if I break it."

Percy sighed. He supposed that was the best he would get out of her. "Even if I...Even if I cant be there." He added, slipping one hand into his pocket.

He sighed and sagged against her. "I love you. Lets go inside. I have something I want to give to you." He whispered, stepping away from her.

Percy nodded, smiling sadly as he picked her up. He carried her below and carefully sat her on the bed.

He just ran his fingers down her face before turning and pulling a box from under his clothes in his drawer. He hid it behind him and turned back to her.

He grinned before bringing the little blue box in front of him and kneeling in front of her. He opened the box.

"This is a promise. okay. I'm not proposing because your mom would kill me!" He joked, looking up to see her reaction.

Annabeth's eyes widened and her hands went to her mouth much in the fashion that girls did. She couldn't help an ecstatic smile and she looked up at him. "Are you promising to propose once this is all over?" She asked softly, teasing, but she really did want it, no matter how young they were.

Annabeth felt her mouth drop slightly. "Really?" She whispered, and held out her right hand, since it wasn't a wedding or engagement ring. (Promise rings go on the right, correct?)
