Overview & Main Roleplay

Mizuki would then point. "I. Pick."She said, adding the one condition she knew Ferris probably wouldn't like. "I know if I let you choose, you'll probably reject over a million of them....and kill the number that actually might be my type. Matter of fact, you might kill them all anyway. I know I would."Mizuki said, putting on her travelling gear. Mizuki was surprised Ferris was taking this well, but she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. She would then lean behind the counter, and pull out something: Her modified repeater rifle. Only the Ishikawa Clan ever mastered it's designed. Humans never could understand it, and the Mazoku didn't try out of respect.

Mizuki's modified variant was lightweight, it was of a stronger material, it was obviously master-craft work, and the crystals lasted longer. She would look towards Ferris, before grinning, and tossing it to her. "It's a killing virgin....I think I'll let you have the first go."She said, a wicked grin on her face. She knew her sister would likely have a blast with that thing. "Bet you I can get more kills without it, though. "She said, that competitive glint in her eye, as she'd raise that claw hook in her hand, and a couple of bottles of pink liquid.

Natha would be walking with Maeve/Kalamiitat, keeping his head low in the bushes, as they'd come across Fort Typhon. By all intents and purposes, this Fort should be abandoned.....But it was clear now that it was not. All three would be able to easily see how the Demon forces managed to keep hidden: Instead of building up, they dug down, creating a haven out of the eye of the mortal races, and using the myths about sea monsters as a smoke screen. Honestly, it was a rather clever tactic. Natha was pissed. "They've been right under the noses of these people....and no-one has noticed. Valar Marutka!" He cursed in his native tongue.

However, Natha's face would go pale at the sight that would greet them.

Marching out of the tunnels was an army......No, two armies, both carrying a different flag. Kalamitat would recognize them as the Mazoku clan and Ishikawa clan banners, the two largest clans to ever serve the Demon King. Both should've been decimated in the raids, yet here they stood. The forces in the army were Raider demons, those who fought and survived the raids, and Raider-trained demons, those who made it here afterwards, and joined the clans as conscripts. The situation went from bad, to worse, to nightmarish.

One Demon was a problem, they could destroy whole towns.

A Raider demon could destroy an entire city by themselves.

But such a force like this had not been seen since the failed demon raids......This could only mean one thing: They were getting ready for war. If this force made it to the capitol, and linked up with Yaro's army, the unaware Northern Monarchy wouldn't stand a chance. It would be a massacre!

Yaro would walk over towards Syniad, and shake his hand. "You are a good man, Syniad. You know, like I do, that we have to do what it takes to ensure our kingdoms prosper......Make no mistake, The Order of the Raven has my full support. Should you ever need my aid, do not hesitate to ask: I know you'd do the same." He said, before bowing to the man, and walking out. The Wilting Rose deserters that followed Yaro trusted his leadership. If he told them to listen to Syniad, they would do so without question.

Yaro, right now, had his thoughts on his loving soon-to-be Queen. Yaro had decided to do something that he knew would bring Prudence's spirits up. Opening the door to the Bath, though staying far enough away to preserve her modesty, Yaro would sit down at a chair, before speaking. "I've decided something, Prudence.....Blood-lines don't matter. That child, which 'we'- "He emphasized the 'we' part. " shall raise, will bear my last name. I am naming the boy my heir. When I die, the kingdom will go to him...."He said, before leaning back, closing his eyes.

"I will also be taking you as my wife....You deserve a better life than what you've received in the Rose Kingdom, Prudence. I will not let the love of my life suffer again. No matter what, I will ensure that you and 'our' child life safely and comfortably...."He said, before opening his eyes. He knew, in a few days, that he'd be marching with the rest of his forces to meet the Northern Yunakai in open battle. Therefore, he didn't want to leave his next words unsaid. He would make sure he had no regrets.

"I love you, Prudence. I always will."

As Yaro and Prudence departed, Klaus remained where he was. His eyes were not so mad, anymore. They gleamed with happiness; anticipation. So badly he desired to possess the Gray Truth; not just for his comrades' sakes, but also his own. It felt like.. the weapon was meant to be used by him. A sword that fed off of good and evil, a legendary engine of destruction against demons, angels, and anything that dared to allow their hearts any black or white tendency.

But as he looked around.. the thought did occur to him. Prudence, being a Mother, and Yaro, being a King.. they would be too busy to help him.. wouldn't they? At this thought, he let out a heavy sigh, and slumped onto the couch. He hadn't exerted himself at all, today, and yet he felt so drained...

When Yaro returned, Klaus followed. He had made up his mind on when he wanted to go.. but he felt that he needed to make sure Pru and Yaro had nothing else planned.. or to make sure there would be no interruptions. Unlike Yaro, Klaus stayed outside the bath, leaning against the wall, waiting for their voices to fall silent.

"Daybreak tomorrow, when you are rested up from your endeavors of today. Does that sound like a good time to depart?" Eagerly, the doctor awaited an answer.

Oromis

Oromis didn't remove his hood, nor do anything but stare for a few seconds. He hissed orders to his guards, who would have the army set up in case of attack. Only then, did he cast off his hood. "Princess you say?" He was handed her items, and he looked over them. "Traveling alone? Or on your broom...strange, almost unreal. Tell me "princess", do you think I'm stupid, or are you out of ideas" He stepped closer, "because I don't think anyone would buy this princess routine." He turned around,  not facing her. "I don't like rebels. They make me sick,  thinking they are scoring victories...no...they will all burn in the end. "

He paused, the guards had formed a ring around them now,  while the rest of the army was in a battle formation. "Go on girl,  we are all waiting to hear this one. "

Yunakai

Edwin let out an aggrated sigh, "that dumbass", he groaned to Lanister while shaking his head.

Augusto was also agitated by Cecile's wreckless flight, "that servant of yours is going to get himself killed, admiral", he warned Lance. The bat was hopping about his shoulders.

The group was of course ready to react to Cecile's stunt, and just as soon as she'd flown off they were on their way to the Yunakai army.

Meanwhile, Cecile was just being greeted by the king, who to her dismay wasn't willing to believe her about her status. Her eyes grew as wide as saucers as she came to this conclusion-- that she'd made a big mistake in barging onto the Yunakai army. King Oromis was staring down at her with a cold look not unlike that of the queen he replaced, and it was enough to shatter the princess's nerves. He was practically dangling her items in front of her.

Finally, the princess's eyes welled up and she began her tearful stuttering of an answer,  "I.. I.. I am the princess! You have to believe me". At this point she was melting down, crying like the baby she was. She was terrified of the possibility of being taken prisoner, but had lost hope that he would listen. The stupidly naive girl could only fumble for words now as she hoped Lance and Lanister would get there soon.

"I'm.. with the King of Bathelon... we're traveling south and I'm in disguise", she said between sniffling. "I am princess Cecile Rose", she pleaded. Surely the men could see her inexperience.

By this time the group was nearing Oromis's army, and soon they would be accompanied by the Bathelon King and the Wilting Rose leader.

Oromis

He stared at her with one eyebrow raised,  fighting the urge to laugh. The guards around also exchanged confused or amused expressions, but the mood changed when the King looked up quickly. "Thorn" he growled,  and stalked past the princess towards those who started coming closer to his army. At his word,  the guards grabbed Cecile and put a dagger against her throat. They dragged her forward behind Oromis. "Well Met. I'll make this quick " he barked, "this girl here claims to be a princess. Obviously you have something to do with her,  so who is she. " with a flick of his wrist,  and the guards revealed the girl,  dagger to throat. "Do it fast, their daggers are...slippery" @Enuky K

South Yunakai

Pruence turned to see Yaro as he entered the bath, sitting a fair distance away from her. She appreciated how respectful he was of her; she felt self conscious there after all. Prudence was still nursing her young one, but she listened as Yaro spoke to her in a tone she found especially comforting. What he said came as a shock to Prudence.

""My baby is an Azarus", she said aloud with a tone of disbelief. All of her fears were lifted in that moment. She liflifted her son to get a good look at him... his tiny head was covered in a thin layer of black fuzz, and his blue eyes... They could still turn green..., she thought to herself; she was proud to see that he appeared to resemble her.

The baby boy was taking in his new environment with wide eyes, and Prudence hugged him close. The news of her son being a prince left her elated and energized, but when Yaro then began speaking of marriage a whirlwind of new emotion spiraled into her heart. She couldn't believe what she was hearing, and it made her beating heart quicken. She went from death to having everything she had ever dreamed of. She would be queen, and at long last she would live the life that the vile monarchies were enjoying as they ripped her world away years ago.

Prudence was fixated on her son while deeply fantasizing about their future and what a dutiful wife she would be when an unexpected voice spoke out. She jumped, startled and alarmed until realizing that it was only Klaus. She was comfortable with the doctors presence there, of course. She then let out a small sigh and tried to push her daydreams away. She rose and headed towards the stairs and stepped out of the bath. She went to the bench and gently dried Alfio off before bundling him into several linen towels. She was careful to keep him warm, and the baby was fighting his sleep now that he was full. Soon, sleep would win.

Prudence then slipped on a white linen gown that she had lying out and approached the doctor where he was standing at the edge of the bath, baby in arms. It felt good to be cleaned of the horrors of the day, and she was beginning to suspect that she was actually still dead but in heaven. Alas, the doctor at least confirmed that she was alive by reminding her of the debt she was to repay.

"Yes, we may go at daybreak. That is, of course, if the king does not object", she said, glancing to Yaro. The Gray Truth could prove crucial to gaining an advantage over the approaching monarchy, but little did they realize by daybreak their neighbors could have arrived.

Lance nodded, satisfied with Lanister's story. It was good to know exactly what had kick started the rebellion, other than a vaguely mentioned revenge plan. When Thornton had gone into mourning, Lance knee Kuvira was dead, and that she had been murdered, but not how or why. It was all clear now.

"We should meet up with the Yunakaian royal forces, then, as they could help us lift Cecile's curse mark-" Lance began, but Cecile had already sped off. The king didn't know why, but just then he realized that probably wasn't a good idea.

"Cecile!" he called, but the princess had made it too far to hear. Lance turned and jumped onto his horse, speeding after her. Even then, it would be a long while until he reached her.

When he finally made it, the army seemed much smaller than Augusto had made it seem. Reaching up and grabbing the bat as gently as he could--if it was still there--he sat it on the saddle after he climbed off. "Stay here," he whispered, hoping nobody would see it. Having a familiar would be shifty, since most people didn't completely know Katha existed in the first place, outside of Bathelon. Lance was sure the noble-turned-king had only bothered to study Bathelon's merchant system, not its politics or who lived there.

Dismounting, Lance strode confidently towards the ring of soldiers, calmly pushing his way through until he reached the center with King Oromis and Cecile.

"I would suggest you not act rashly--Oromis, wasn't it?--unless you want a war with the Rose Kingdom. Cecile's brother is grieving and aggravated and I doubt he would hesitate to attack you," Lance warned with a cool voice, purposely forgoing the Yunakaian's title. He had not yet earned Lance's respect, and his threatening Cecile only made things worse.

Syniad nodded in response. "I won't forget that, King Yaro. I will send the summons to the Order and they will be here soon." The man watched as Yaro left, lingering a moment before leaving as well, to his room. He closed and locked the door, to keep out distractions, and took a simple bowl to fill with water. Once that was done, he set it on his desk and casted a scrying spell. The water rippled to reveal the inside of a mansion.

Shaz turned to face a grand mirror as its reflection warped into Syniad's face and the roof of what must have been his room. "Sir," she greeted with a bow, her tone still cool with smoldering anger.

"Preparations here in Yunakai are nearly complete. Gather the others and prepare for the teleportation spell," Syniad ordered, and Shaz nodded.

"It will be done."

"I will begin in one hour. Those who aren't ready will be left behind." With that, the mirror's reflection returned. On the Yunakaian side, Syniad stood and walked to his bed, laying down to take a nap and have all of his energy and focus for the large, exhausting spell he was going to have to cast. On the Bathelonian side, Shaz turned to the man who had happened to be nearby, probably having wandered into the room at the sound of voices. "Vistrel Cahogh, gather your demon hunters. I know you don't enjoy magic, but speed is paramount here. You heard the Raven; we have an hour."

Ferris shrugged sheepishly. "Fine, alright, whatever you say--" she mumbled, but when Mizuki tossed the repeater rifle to her the demon quieted. "Ohohoho, you're letting me use this? It's practically the peak of your craftmanship, and it's so flawless," Ferris rambled, studying the deadly weapon with an excited gleam in her eye. "Sis, I could paint cities much bloodier than you.. but it's more fun with you anyways, so the game is on," she said in response to Mizuki's challenge. Hiding it underneath her cloak, Ferris turned towards the door. "If you're ready, we should go. Chalondra and Lexus are probably waiting on us," she prompted.

Maeve led Natha dutifully to Fort Typhon, and while it seemed uninhabited there were small clues everywhere that told it really wasn't--other than the two armies outside--along with Kalamitat's uncomfortable mental squirming. Maeve wasn't sure whether it was due to the two banners she didn't recognize flying in the midst of the groups or because of the man who had saved them.

"The armies are huge.. We need to find some way to disrupt them, Natha," Maeve said, looking towards him and noticing his stricken expression. "There's a seal I learned once that causes a massive explosion; that and a smoke screen set to go off during said explosion would probably be enough to crumble the fort and cause a distraction." She knelt and drew in the dirt as she planned, occasionally wiping the strategy away once she found a large hiccup and starting anew. After a while, she growled in frustration. "There's too many things that could go wrong, dammit.."

Oromis

Oromis strode to Lance, and stood tall to face him. "If I was slightly more impulsive,  you would have been responsible for your princess's death." The men around them had fiercly amused expressions. "Any smart man could see this, as I simply asked a question...what do you do? You walk through my men right up to me, a king,  and gave me a threat. Normally I'd give you the benifit of the doubt and assume you didn't know who I was because of my wear; but obviously you do know me,  which means you blatantly disrespected me, a man who simply asked a question, to you, a man-and I use that lightly- who foolishly risked the life of his princess by threatening me and my people. "

The guards began to snicker at this, and Oromis gave a mocking grin. "Don't worry yourself though! I would never tale advantage over the mentally challenged,  so I'll talk with you instead of killing you both!" He took a step back,  small enough to look casual, but large enough to be away from him in case the whelp decided to pull something.  "You say this is the princess." He jabbed a finger at her.  "Yet she travels with a broom...and in peasant clothes. And -Forgive me, who are you? I feel like I should know." That was meant to be disrespectful. If this person wouldn't respect him, he'd give none back. "Explain this, or give me proof. If you're true to your word, she'll be released with a full apology, as well as permission to travel with us to wherever you must go."

The guards and him were ready for a fight if one broke out.  "If you lie,  you'll find yourself an ex member of the being alive club. Both of you. "

"I would suggest....you hold your tongue, whelp. You may be King, but you act as fool-hardy as a common footsoldier"

The ring of soldiers there would feel a crossbow to their back, or a blade to their throat. The black ring of Wilting Rose Assassins held each close with practiced ease. Stepping into the ring, Lanister would simply nod to Lance. "My lord..."He said, before walking towards the two holding Cecile, with the dagger to her throat. Reaching his hand in his cloak, Lanister would speak calmly. "I would suggest you put my princess down.....No?....Very well. "He said before, instead of extending the blade, he'd use the handle to strike the guards arm, removing the dagger from Cecile's throat, before taking the metal edge and striking him there, causing him to fall to the ground from the air being knocked out.

Lanister would turn towards the other guard, who would simply let go, before he would reach his hand down, and help Cecile up. "Forgive me for not arriving sooner, My lady. "He said, before the male would turn towards Aizen. "Aizen! Stay next to Cecile at all times." He said, hoping his apprentice would listen. Finally, Lanister would take his attention to the 'King' of Yunakai, Oromis. He had heard a lot about this man....

So far, he wasn't impressed.

"The lady you held is Lady Cecile, Princess of the Rose Kingdom, and next in line for the throne after King Thornton."Lanister said, walking straight up to Oromis. Lanister's order never had to respect any authority outside of their own, or the Monarchy in the Rose Kingdom. Now was no exception. "Now child, you have a choice: You may shut up and listen, so we can talk like civilized individuals, or I can have my men rain blood on this ground now. Make no mistake: You will not walk away unharmed. "He said.

"I am here, to aid you in dealing with Yaro Azar, the Southern Yunakai Rebellion Leader. Before you go spouting anymore threats and insults, or whatever nonsense you can dredge up, No-one can you give you any more information into that boys mind than I can, King Oromis." Lanister said, before scoffing.

"After all, I taught that boy everything he knows."Lanister said. This was Yaro's Master!

Oromis

Though he was taken aback by the swiftness and efficiency of what they did, he remained completely calm,  looking as if he still had control of the situation. He glanced around, silent. "Well played. I'll have to work on that." He growled before turning to the newcommer. "May I correct your speech? You seem to think I was...what was the word? Sputtering...I'm insulted,  I think my speechcraft deserves a bit more recognition then that. Usually when I insult someone in the manner you have,  they were outraged or freaking out. I was calm and composed the whole time." He walked toward this man... "insults insults...your only redemption being you addressed me as my status. Think though,  what would you have done in my position? Let this random girl come into the army and start giving her information? I have done nothing to deserve your threats. For a master you seem to be much less wise then you should be,  because here your pupil was in the wrong. You could have done without the violence, and just told me who she was. You can never be too cautions when you're in my position." He was close now.  "I was going to talk,  until you attacked, making your talk foolish. In fact,  I'm not threatened by you in any manner,  but your men here,  who certainly are adept at their craft. I will need to get better at defending from these attacks." He thought back..had he done something wrong,  or said something he shouldn't have? He couldn't think of anything...he had no intention of killing the girl...who turned out to be the princess. "However. " he turned and strode to the princess, and knelt.  "Princess,  I have wronged you, you must understand my position allows little room for trust. However,  I was blinded by this,  I pray you will forgive my trespassing." He placed her items at her feet, but did not rise. @Enuky K @Andraus @Trombone Geek @Robyn Banks

GWithin the circle of the Wilting Rose.. having spoken nary a word; there he was. Invisible amongst his taller colleagues, was Aizen Bafpar. The stress of his training to utilize magic left him looking slightly older than before, but behind his mask and hood, it would be difficult to tell.

Upon Lanister's orders, Aizen nodded, sliding with nary a sound to Cecile's position. All she would hear was the soft patter of his tiny feet, as he stood near her, wary and on guard.

As Oromis approached, Aizen's eyes narrowed. A hand of his warily gripped the handle of his shortsword. Aizen assumed hostility from just about anyone that wasn't Lanister.. not a very trusting Hobbit. He was ready for any tricks. Nice and slow, King.. he thought to himself. Any sudden movements and he'd be short some fingers.

Yunakai

Cecile could only watch on in horror when at last her heroes arrived... only to be left hanging there longer as the men began their egotism match... This left the princess at bay longer; the 'slippery' daggers were still being held at her throat. Cecile wanted to cry out and tell Lance not to argue with him, and to do whatever it was the king said. However, she couldnt make more of a fool of herself than she already had, and so the Princess remained silent and frozen still. Indeed, she was too frightened to even cry now.

It was then Lanister who had her freed, and Cecile could do nothing but cower away to where her companions were standing. The delicate girl was left shaken by the incident, but that was all. In total, the entire ordeal only lasted for about half an hour.

Aizen joining her side and standing with Lance and Lanister left her feeling slightly more secure, but in truth one incident was enough for the princess. Her mind was racing with thoughts about... going home. She could see that she was simply too soft for a mission as risky as this one...

All of her confidence was draining away when Oromis approached, making her back away with uncertainty and Aizen ready himself for attack. She was very clearly still frightened of the man, but was surprised by his next actions.

The king showed his genelemanly side and knelt before her, offering a sincere apology for his actions... it really made Cecile feel no different, but it helped her remember the urgency in this mission. If she ever wanted to lift her curse, she couldn't run away as soon as things got tough. The unmarried princess still had much to learn, and the events of the day would have to be taken as another lesson. Oromis was another victim of the resistance, despite his nasty personality. He, too, was in danger of attack by the resistance.

Cecile stared down at Oromis, who appeared to be waiting for her response before he would rise again. She really did not wish to accept his apology, but in that moment she knew as well shShe had much power. After a lengthy pause, Cecile responded with a surprising air of confidence.

"I accept your apology, King...on one condition." She breathed and continued, "One of the resistance leaders has laid a dreadful curse upon me. That is why we are here... if you assist us in apprehending this witch, I will accept your apologies..."

She paused and glanced over his armies, "however, as you can see by the way I'm dressed, we would like to keep this mission low key, and are planning a surprise infiltration of the south's capital. We cannot do this with these armies", she explained. "You will have to travel alone with us". With less people along, the group could better remain hidden. Also, it would give them a chance to survey the state of resistance tterritories without raising any alarm.

Cecile waiting to see his response, and somehow managing to conceal how terrified she was. Perhaps viewing her as a princess he would notice how beautiful she was.

Oromis

As Oromis listened, he kept a calm stature, face blank. However,  inside be was face palming,  as he certainly didn't want to go helping some random girl lift some unknown curse...but, they were allies against the rebels...and he knew well that he needed all the help he could get...of course, he hated the rebels, and figured this would be a good time to show good intentions. "Whoever dared place a curse on my ally is a personal enemy of mine. I will aid you to do whatever you must do to lift this curse." At that he rose,  not wanting to stay down any longer. "I'd agree,  but what about these" he gestured to the assassins. They seem to bring the numbers of this little fellowship up. @Enuky K

Lanister would place his blade-hilt away, before signalling for his men to lower their weapons. "I was on my way to speak to Yaro myself, which is how I linked up with the Princess."He said, pulling his hood back, and removing his silver mask, revealing the man underneath. His turquoise hues would stare at the man, before he would let out a sigh. "-and as much as I hate to say.....you have a point, Oromis. In your position, I would act in the exact same manner, For that, I ask you forgive me. My order has been under a lot of stress, between two rebellions and a civil war, myself included. "He said, signalling for his men to step away. He would then look towards Aizen, and nod, before walking forward. " I ask that you allow me to speak to Yaro, so that a Peace Summit may be called. Yaro is a lot of Things, King Oromis, but a fool he is not. Your march down south, with the agents he managed to sway under his view, will not have gone unnoticed: He will take action."He informed him, before holding up his hand. "However, Yaro and I have a close bond, I trained him and Lady Troy Conners, who was murdered by Kuvira, personally. If I ask him to stand down to allow calmer action to prevail, he will concede.....whether or not peace can be achieved is up to your skills as a diplomat, all I can do is set the stage. "

Lanister would walk over towards Lance, before speaking. "My order has not, and never has, intentionally delved into the politics of other nations, unless they involve the Rose Kingdom proper. Whether Yunakai rises or falls has never been our concern, unless you bear hostilities to us. However, Yaro's actions have been disavowed by the rest of the council as Extremist, born from the idiocy of your predecessor.....an idiocy I hope you do not possess. "He said, stating that he knew next to nothing about Oromis, and that he expected a lot out of the new King. "I have been sent here by Grandmaster Clementina to convince Yaro to step down, so that we can evade his execution ....No doubt Thornton would like for us to kill him for the actions against Kuvira, but frankly, after all that has happened, I could care less what he wants. His younger, inexperienced sister has more sense than he does. "Lanister said. "Yaro may be misguided, but his skills are useful, and his Loyalty to his land is unquestioned. He is of no use dead or in a cell somewhere, and I owe it to my former student to try and save him from himself."

"What I am saying is, show him you have Yunakai's best interest at heart, That you are here for the people, and it will aid you immensely. Yaro is, to a fault, a patriot....and sometimes an idiot."Lanister concluded, Giving Oromis as much valuable information as possible, and obviously waiting for him to ask anymore questions, for anything Oromis might need to know.

Natha would reach his hand over, and stop her. "Just a moment.....i know you wish to avoid unnecessary slaughter, but you are vastly underestimating these Demons. Ask your possessor if you do not believe me, but I've seen a single Ishikawa Demon run through an army, fire and smoke everywhere, and complain that it wasn't covered in enough blood. If we attack them now, they'll scatter.....but they'll likely destroy whatever information or plans they've stored here." Natha said. He had been searching for their main base for years, and was not about to let this opportunity slip through.

"However....If we let this army pass, and sneak in with their numbers largely cut down, not only will we find out what they're planning, but we'll also learn about other strongholds they have. One lost battle, but we will win the war. "Natha said. He knew it was a lot to ask, asking Maeve to abandon an army that was planning on aiding in the deaths of many of her people, but he hoped that the sheer magnitude of the situation would be enough to convince her that attacking them right now was not only suicide, but they would gain nothing from it.

Yaro would nod. "Of course, Klaus. I told you I would do whatever was in my power to aid you. Even if the situation came up, where I myself could not go directly by yourside, I would give you whatever I have in my hands to make sure the Grey Truth lands right in the hands of it's true wielder: Heinrich Klaus, Royal Physician of the Yunakai Monarchy." Yaro said, giving Klaus a hand-shake. "Make no mistake, I keep my promises."

Mizuki would just give Ferris a grin. "Please, sister! I'll have you know that I have likely killed more people with a couple of flowers petals, quicker than you have with that.....thing you call a weapon, how do you wield that any?! It's handle is huge!"Mizuki said, rubbing her head at the weapon. It was always so confusing, all the weapons that Ferris used! Her weapons may be advanced, but they were simple!

Taking the method, and route, Ferris travelled, Mizuki and her elder sister would arrive only within a few hours. Cracking her neck, Mizuki would just yawn. "God, I am so booooored, sister! Isn't there anything for me to do?.....Does this place at least have cute guys?"She asked. Mizuki was acting like your typical little sister: Always looking for excitement wherever she could find it. She would then finally enter the palace

Chalondra, who had been waiting there, would walk over to Mizuki, and hug the little girl. "I am so glad to see you again, Mizu. Ferris hasn't been the same without you.....I think she missed you. 'Chalondra would say, teasing Ferris. She would then look towards Ferris. "There has been news.....The 'Silver Lord' has been spotted in the area. He tried to engage my brother, but Lexus is still alive. They caught the prisoner, however. "Chalondra said, having received the message from a carrier raven. "Good news is, his forces should arrive either tomorrow or in a day."

Mizuki would hug the older woman, before walking into the center of the grand all. She would then yell for anyone to hear. "IS ANYBODY HOME?!"

Yaro would just jump at this, looking in the direction of the room. "What in the.....Uh, Klaus, could you go check that out?"He asked, more concerned with helping Prudence and her sleeping infant.

Klaus beamed proudly upon the young king, shaking his hand firmly as he offered.

"I hope you rest well, my Liege," he whispered to Yaro. "If you could, arrange a ferry with coordinates to our destination by next morning. Remember: island between the borders of Yunakai and Bathelon."

As the voice boomed out, Klaus looked in the direction it came from, utterly perplexed. As Yaro requested he go and investigate, he nodded, bowing as he departed without a word. Into the grand hall he ventured, curious as to what he would find. Upon seeing Mizuki, Klaus scratched his head, heading downstairs to confront her.

"Have you permissions to be here? This is a private home, you know." Klaus, as a Cleric, could tell straight away the demonic presence within this girl.. but he did not seem concerned in the least. After all, hostile demons melted like butter before his holy spells...

"I'm not really looking into more bodies for dissection tonight, either.. important things to do tomorrow. So please, save Klaus some time and politely state your business."

As Lanister nodded to him, Aizen nodded, easing his hand away from his blade. Their enemy was clear: the Rebellion further South, no doubt lead by Yaro, the Witch and that Lunatic. Deep down though, Aizen had doubts. Was this King worth aiding? If Lanister spoke as he did.. it felt as though an alliance, or at least a truce was imminent.

Yunakai--

Cecile didn't speak much more following her proposition to Oromis; inside she was still terribly frightened of him, but she wanted this fact concealed. However, if anyone was left unforgiving of the new king it was Sir Edwin. As it was his responsibility to keep the princess out of harm's way, the Rose Knight had nearly been struck with a heart attack seeing the princess so close to an untimely death... he would be in so much trouble if he returned to the Rose Kingdom after failing to protect her. In fact, he wouldn't even return to the Rose Kingdom if he failed his kingdom's princess in such a way, he reflected.

Cecile was standing just in front of Edwin, and the irritated man looked down upon Cecile with eyes of utter contempt. Of course, Cecile had no knowledge of this. In his opinion, her broomstick needed be confiscated at once-- but he knew Lance would likely throw a fit if he tried to limit the stupid girl. You need to be put back into your little bird cage, he thought bitterly.  He was still trying to get a grip of his nerves; his blood pressure spiked. Sighing in attempt to do away with these shameful thoughts, his glare shifted to Oromis; perhaps his anger was better directed at this man. This was the man, after all, who would have killed Cecile! He knew Cecile couldn't have shown any signs of aggression to this surrounding army.

In the next instant, Edwin noticed he hadn't heard anything the men were conversing about. He'd been too absorbed in his thoughts. Narrowing his eyes, he began to focus more, deciding to speak when it seemed Lanister was finished.

"The Wilting Rose leader is right", he began in agreement with Lanister. "Soon we will be in Southern Territory, and armies would only draw immediate attention to us. We wouldn't even make it to the sea without igniting a war", he said. The Emerald Thorn Knight was well experienced with times of tension between kingdoms. Bringing armies south would guarantee a war declaration, and this should be avoided... at least until after the princess was cured. The trip south would benefit Oromis as well; it would give him the opportunity to see the state of the south and develop a strategic plan for securing the southern peninsulas.

Not only that, but if they are fortunate enough to reach the southern capitol without attack, it could give them the opportunity to seize resistance leaders... thus crippling the resistance. Indeed, Edwin knew that investigating what they were getting into could prove vital to the success of this mission. Once they learn the intentions of the resistance leaders now that a new king had been identified they could consider whether to attack later.

"For now, I believe your armies are best suited defending the Yunakai borders. Lanister's men", he said gesturing over the less than twenty Wilting Rose agents, "will not be accompanying us to the capitol", he said. Lanister's men would likely be investigating other areas or assisting at the Yunakai border. Only Aizen and Lanister would join them on their march to the sea.

South Yunakai--

Prudence held her baby close and followed everyone's gaze to the door and the source of the sound. There was something so different about being a mother; she was left distrusting of everything. She looked to Yaro with a worried expression, and no sooner than she did was Klaus asked to go investigate.

The uncertain mother shuffled over to where Yaro was seated on another stone bench. The female sat next to him, holding Alfio across her lap. She couldn't take her eyes off of the infant for long.

Finally, her green eyes lifted until meeting with Yaro's. It was settled. In the morning they would begin the quest for the blade... a blade that would ready them for expeditions into Alethea.

Prudence lifted her sleeping Alfio and gently handed him to Yaro. She glanced towards the empty doorway, and upon seeing that Klaus was out of earshot she peered deeply into Yaro's eyes; there was something she knew she needed to tell him.

The small female knelt at the king's feet upon the stone floor. She hesitated another moment while staring into the man's face. Finally, she spoke:

"King Yaro Azarus, I promise to dutifully serve you once I am your queen. Together, we will rule this land", she said to him. "I am yours."

The witch rose to her feet and gently pulled at Yaro's arm to rise. It was time to prepare for the morning's journey... and perhaps see who their visitors were with the doctor.

Lance was about to respond to Oromis's insults and tell him who they were and why they were here when he felt and saw Lanister's assassins hold each and every soldier and crossbow- or knife-point. Lanister himself walked forwards--playing hero, of course, and for some reason that irritated Lance, but the king kept quiet and watched the scene with his always-cool attitude. He shifted slightly as if to subconsciously shield Cecile from the target of her fear, but when the Yunakaian king showed a more gentlemanly side he let the princess step around him. Inwardly, Lance was proud of how she handled herself, and maybe he was just a bit in awe of how amazing she looked right then.

Just leftovers of that dumb spell. Doesn't matter how long ago it was, that stuff takes root in your mind, he told himself stubbornly, even though nobody was privy to his thoughts and it really didn't matter. He watched Oromis with slight suspicion, feeling like the Yunakaian was lying just a bit about how he felt about aiding them, but aid was aid and Lance wasn't about to reject it just because he felt cheated. He remained quiet as Lanister stated his intentions, not willing to say that if Yaro was hanging around the witch who had cursed Cecile, who knew what would happen?

Edwin's planning surprised Lance somewhat; he'd been somewhat aware that the Emerald Thorn had to have some sort of brilliant mind--he played with magic, after all--but didn't know he was a good strategist.

Shaz crossed her arms. "Sorry, let me rephrase that: Syniad is going to teleport us to the outskirts of Amberjack in less than an hour; you're wasting time by arguing. I happened to intercept the message, and I was simply telling you what he required you do. Please do that," she replied, a bit too polite and almost sarcastic. Without waiting for a response from Vistrel, she turned away and walked towards the door into the hallway. "I'm going to find the other Order superiors and have them get ready, too; they are aware that I sometimes act as messenger." And she was gone, searching for the other members, mostly the mages. They would need to draw a rune circle in the ballroom--the only place big enough--to crowd the troops within and complete the spell.

Half an hour later, the deed was done; now all that remained was for the Order's soldiers to show up. Most already had; some hadn't. "Perhaps some of the Wilting Rose agents could come with us--only a few, and not with our party per se, but moving ahead and looking for danger. Just one or two, unless Aizen or Lanister would rather take that job. It would make our journey a bit easier," he proposed.

"This thing," Ferris replied, jerking a thumb at her sword with a grin, "is a blade specially made for me. I just.. use it? I'm not sure how to explain it. It sure does get the job done, though! I'm sure Meteors would prefer your repeater rifle, though.. Plenty of explosions for the guy," she said. Back at it again with the weird 'references' or whatever. Who was possibly named Meteors? That was just.. the weirdest nickname, title, name--whatever--ever. "Surprising explosions!" the demon added, cackling loudly. (:3 @Surprise Meteors I thought of you and decided, sure, why not? :D)

"Dunno your definition of 'cute,' kiddo," Ferris said once they arrived, answering Mizuki's question. Chalondra appeared, teasing as she always did, and Ferris shuffled her feet discreetly while rolling her eyes. "Puh-lease. Human emotions are not my thing." Chalondra's next words sent a shiver up Ferris's spine, a mixture of fear, hate, and disgust, contradicting her previous words. "Please tell me you'll let me go and take him out," she growled, aware he was the cause of the death of many powerful demons.

///

Maeve frowned, staring at Natha for a moment while she considered. "..Fine.. Fine, I will do as you ask. But know that if this causes too much trouble for Yunakai--who is already split by civil war--that I won't be keen on forgiving you," she growled. But she sat back, biding her time anyways, pulling up clumps of grass in frustration.

:Fidgeting won't do any good, Maeve. At least clear your mind. Maybe I can find something for us, but you just have to calm down. I can't move my spirit unless you loosen the chains,: Kalamitat insisted.

Last time I let you past my defenses--

:I saved your life,: Kalamitat retorted. :At least let me be useful! It's not like I'm going to betray you or anything!:

Maeve, for some reason, felt like that was some sort of lie, although it didn't seem like an imminent problem so she crossed her legs, breathed deeply, and cleared her mind like Kalamitat instructed. The thrashing waters of her mind calmed into a smooth mirror of a lake, and she felt a sudden weakness as Kalamitat's ethereal form traveled from her body. She'd only done this once before, and it had been by accident. She didn't realize how much she relied on the demon; she felt much older, as if all the months of not aging, as meager as they might of been, were crashing down on her at once. She'd found the main entrance into the tunnels and had perfect timing to see a changing of guard shifts before the exhaustion forced her to draw her demon back into her soul.

Once that was finished, the assassin flopped over on her side, panting. That was the worst thing I've ever done, she thought. Kalamitat was eerily silent, but Maeve just assumed the demon had withdrawn from the same fatigue that plagued her.

Yunakai--

It seemed then that the group was in agreement, reflected Cecile. The men began to make haste preparing for the journey ahead, and within no time the king was ready. On horseback the group made their way further south and into South Yunakai. The terrain was becoming increasingly warmer, and soon the texture of the soil became more sand like. Palm trees were scattered about, but still they were north enough to see some deciduous trees.

The princess did her best not to disturb the others, knowing she'd caused quite a bit of trouble for them earlier. She remained on horseback with Lance, and trailing directly behind them was Aizen and Edwin who were also mounted atop horses. She sighed to herself; Aizen would never leave her alone now that he'd been instructed to keep an eye on her. Edwin, too, would think twice before looking away as well. Cecile was bored, and even worse there was nothing she could do about it.

Evening was approaching and the group came to pass through a small town located towards the center of the main southern peninsula. The city was unusual; it still bore the traditional Yunakai royal flag. Naturally, the group was then inclined to stop and investigate. It would soon be nightfall, and perhaps this would be a safe place to take a break. Amberjack was only hours away at this  point, and this area could potentially have more allies.

Cecile shifted from the horse's back to see some of the buildings. There was a military fortress nearby, and it could be seen standing in the distance. "Look there!" Cecile said to Lance and Oromis, pointing. Whether the base was inhabited was a mystery to them, but it was still adorned by the Yunakai Royal Forces.

Mizuki would smile as her yell had gotten the perceived effect, and she would bow towards the apparent doctor. "Forgive me, I didn't know someone of your distinction was a resident of this estate! I am Mizuki Ishikawa, Doctor, Herbalist, Inventor, Scientist, and Expert of all various methods of Torture. "She said, before raising her head. "It is nice to meet another soul, who enjoys the finer things in life of science and Anatomy! "She said, smiling up to him. Finding another soul who enjoyed dissection was always a treat! "I was called here out of retirement in Bathelon, to aid your friends here."

Chalondra would look towards Ferris. "You know we can't openly hunt him here, Ferris. It either has to be in a secluded area, or he has to attack us first. You know I don't like this as much as you do, but we have our orders. "Chalondra said, grumbling, before she saw how.....normal-ish Mizuki acted towards the doctor with the forced smile scar. Chalondra would then look towards Ferris. "By the Seven, what have we done...."

Yaro would hold Alfo close, staring at the young boy, holding him as gentle as possible in his armored arms. "What a beautiful child....He will grow into a fine Prince one day. The trials we face today, ensure that this child will grow to inherit a prosperous and peaceful Kingdom....."He said, toying with the child's nose, before watching Prudence's action. Yaro would take Prudence's face, before leaning down to kiss her. "As I am yours, My Queen.....We shall rule together, and create a Kingdom, where no-one shall challenge us."He said, holding both close to him.

Natha would signal for Maeve to follow them, as he started moving into the building. "I don't care if you're happy with it or not, this is the right thing to do. You may lose a few lives, but many generations will be saved.....This isn't a fairytale, Maeve. Sometimes, the good guys don't always win."Natha would say, as he would begin searching inside the building for anything. It was clear that the Demons have had a long time to settle, and the place was well-fortified. They were expecting something, but what it was, was not clear at the time.

Heinrich listened to Mizuki's words, glanced over her once, twice, and then took a deep breath, gently running a finger over his mouth scars. By Saint Cuthbert he was already charmed.. but no need to let her know that. With a welcoming smile, he descended the stairs, keeping a personal space bubble unpopped.

"Torture... we share in common. Sooner or later I would love to hear of your methods, maybe even..." he paused, licking his lips. "Give them a test drive. Myself, I study Sentient Anatomy, Human History, Languages from all reels of life, and of course, efficient practices in the medical field." He gave a few steps of approach to Mizuki, deciding to test Klydebern's infamy amongst demons.

"Tell me.. are you familiar with the legend of Klydebern, and the Gray Truth? I bring this up simply because the odor of Demonkind emanates from you; and it smells... Prideful." deep down, Klaus wondered if this demon could tell from a glance that he, like Klydebern, was a Cleric; a breed of holy warriors second only to Paladins in their ability to destroy Demonkind. Or, even yet.. could this demon tell he was the descendant of Klydebern?

"If you are present for the sake of our aid, I certainly know some ways you could shine your talents.."

@Andraus

Ferris sighed and nodded in response to Chalondra's words, but perked up suddenly when she heard Mizuki and the doctor guy chatting. Her eyebrows rose and she grinned a bit.

"Ohoho, take a look at that," she remarked, her grin widening even more as Chalondra questioned what they had done. Ferris seemed to be oddly at ease, considering who the doctor was--the light emanating from the man along with a twist of cruelty was painfully obvious--but it was because the woman trusted her sister to handle herself. "C'mon, Chally, let's leave those two to their thing," she said, taking the Mazoku demon's arm and pulling her down the hallway and away.

Once the two demons had gained a good distance, Ferris leaned against the wall and glared at the opposite wall as if doing so could cause the Silver Lord to burst into flames. "So, you mean if we draw him into a secluded area, we'd basically have permission to take him out?" she asked, glancing at Chalondra through the corners of her eyes.

///

"I'm well aware of that," she snapped back at Natha, rising to her feet to follow him. During his search, she used her senses to keep aware of her surroundings, not quite sure what she would be looking for anyways. They had made it a good distance through the fort before Maeve froze.

"Someone's nearby," she whispered, resting a hand on her side-sword and reaching another into a pocket to grab two silver needles, most effective against demons. The darkness wreathed around them like a cloak as Maeve used her illusions to pull it around them protectively. "Where's a demon's weakest place?" she asked, catching sight of a glint of something.

Before Natha or Kalamitat could answer, it flew at them with talons clawing and teeth biting, screeching all the while to raise the alarm. "Natha, we've got to go!" At the mention of the Silver Lord's name, the screeching became louder, higher pitched, more insistent, and Maeve winced at the sound. "You might be powerful against them, but you're nothing against a whole keep," she added, kicking the demon away and throwing each needle into its eyes, blinding it for a while until it regenerated. During that pause in attack, Maeve grabbed Natha's hand and pulled him down the pathway they'd taken in, suddenly diverting her trail elsewhere to take a less-used entrance. She didn't know if Natha had known about the secret tunnel, but she'd kept it hidden so he wouldn't insist on taking its route into the keep. You had to have some sort of escape route, and Maeve wasn't familiar with how well the demon killer listened to reason yet.

As they burst from the tunnel, Maeve struck the exit's walls with a earth-manipulating spell that caused the stone and dirt to crumble and block any way in or out. After that was done, Maeve continued well into the forest.

///

At twenty minutes to the hour, Syniad reached the outskirts of Amberjack, as far away from any farms or homes as he could be with a summoning circle drawn in the dirt. He finished making preparations at about ten minutes til. On the other side, the whole of the Order that was accompanying the Resistance--a large amount compared to its size a few months ago--finally gathered inside the room.

When the hour struck, the mages in the ballroom and Syniad began chanting, and a faint purple line appeared in the ground, stretching across the diameter of the circle. As the spell went on, the line spread into a hole, although nobody would fall in. Looking down would reveal nothingness, and it unnerved Shaz. As time went on, the circle slowly filled until it was all blotted out.

That was when people fell into the hole. A few of the Order members unaccustomed to teleportation shouted in surprise, a few curled in on themselves as if afraid of heights, but it didn't last long. The speed at which they fell gradually slowed until the world materialized around them and the ground seemed to always have been there. Anyone who hadn't stayed on their feet were on the ground.

Shaking the disorienting remnants of the spell off, the Order reorganized itself and began to make its way towards the barracks, where they would find quarters to rest. Anyone considered 'important'-- Syniad, his bodyguard (Shaz), Vistrel, and a few other higher-ups--would make their way to the castle instead and wait until the next day, where they would start to move towards their positions.

Lance remained quiet most of the ride, inwardly despairing at the crippling heat and humidity. He felt like jumping into every single puddle he saw--which there really weren't any, but that didn't matter. The king swore he would never curse cold weather again. At least then he could have fur to keep him warm and not want to rip his skin off instead. This even made him consider cutting off his hair, which he happened to be rather proud of. It was a bit of a pain to braid it before a battle to keep it out of the way, but he didn't really enjoy having short hair; he felt bare without it.

Maybe all werewolves are supposed to have long hair, to provide them with something to make fur out of, he thought with amusement, before being put off by the joke. Shifting uncomfortably for multiple reasons, Lance sighed. Maybe the heat was getting to his head and driving him mad. Maybe Cecile was too much of an influence. He didn't know, but it was just plain weird.

South Yunakai--

The group of nobles came to a stop once they reached a desolate little town. The breeze was heavier here, and dark storm clouds were beginning to form from above. It was Edwin who acknowledged Cecile. She was still eagerly pointing toward what looked like a small military fortress. Edwin shook his head, "how can we be sure these men can be trusted?" he asked. The Emerald Thorn felt that approaching the fortress could be disastrous...

Cecile, however; began to whine. Perhaps the girl reached her limits for the day; she didn't have much patience or stamina, after all. "But it's hot, and I'm tired", she complained. Cecile was uncomfortably hot as well from sitting so close to Lance, and she was itching to be on her feet again.

Edwin appeared visibly irritated by Cecile. His brow furrowed and his eyes narrowed. He resisted a strong urge to snap at the girl, but like usual the presence of King Lance was enough of a deterrent. Instead, he faced the other men present with a questioning stare, "should we go there?" he asked them. As much as he hated Lance, he'd accepted him and Lanister as the most level headed there. He was more inclined to listen to those men over the princess any day.

As Edwin was talking, Augusto woke up. The bat crawled out from where he'd been resting in a pouch hooked to the horse's saddle. He slowly climbed back up Lance's arm until reaching his shoulder. He blinked and sat quietly for a moment; it was taking him some time to wake up, but soon he would be energized by the approaching nighttime. Augusto wasn't aware of anything going on, and rambled off topic. "it's about to rain", he grumbled to Lance. It seemed all eyes were on Lance then, waiting for him to choose their course of action.

. . .

Prudence was left soothed by Yaro's sweet words. He leaned forward and kissed her before reaching an arm down and gently pulling her closer to him. Prudence reached for Alfio and once he was settled she nestled closely against Yaro's chest. The two were plopped onto Yaro's lap, and soon Prudence was resting there with closed eyes. She felt that she and her child were safe in his arms. The bathroom air was steamy and warm, and she wished the moment wouldn't end. Security was a privilege she'd never known before then and she wanted to take in as much as she could.

Finally, Prudence released a small sigh and opened her eyes again. Although the idea of sleep was tempting, Prudence wanted to make sure that all was in place for the morning. She shifted and whispered to Yaro, "will you prepare everything we need?" The witch hadn't even clothing for her Alfio. She wanted to rest easily for the evening; she was safe in the protection of the king. The possibility of there being enemies nearby was completely escaped from her mind.

"Shouldn't we go check on the doctor as well?" she added, noticing that he never returned. She was looking up into Yaro's face, wondering how he would like to spend the remainder of the evening.

He had been bored the whole way down there, and had typically kept his cloak up. He didn't like these people, allies they may be. He couldn't afford to trust anyone, and God knows he didn't have the time to be off on a literal witch hunt. The only reason he was staying sane was the fact he could rate the princess on her leadership and combat skills, which so far, he believed she lacked. She was obviously afraid of him, and while he didn't purposely try to scare her, he didn't try to make any kind of amends, nor speak much on this trip.

Finally, they arrived at a Southern military base. He was glad he was near his own troops now, he felt scattered and broken with his nation, he did care for it, under all his power hunger. The others seemed to be nervous and wondering if it was safe or not...which amused him. He decided to let them stir, for fun of course, while he slid away to meet whoever was in charge. He wasn't too stealthy, but he figured he could make it out of there and into the base. He slid off at night, in his cloak, then swiftly ran into the camp, where he looked for the first figure of authority. @Enuky K @Robyn Banks @Trombone Geek

South Yunakai--

Edwin peered in the direction of King Oromis as he ventured away from the group. Of course, the group wwould quickly notice the absence of the Yunakai king. Oromis was walking confidently in strides towards the base, which made Edwin shrug his shoulders.

"If King Oromis perceives the base to be safe, perhaps it is", he murmured. He wasn't sure why the king would simply leave the group without word, but Edwin began to follow, motioning for the rest to do the same.

Thunder was beginning to roll in, and Inside the base most of the soldiers were still drunk.
