I'm currently interacting with Emerald, sort of, but since he isn't currently not on is it allowed that you disengage from them for the time being or is that role play no no?

It's a no-no unless the character you're roleplaying as would do something like that. Considering Ysira's character, I'd find it unlikely, unless she's incredibly uncomfortable with the situation and wants to disengage immediately.
