Active [Othaia Frontier] Rescue Kevin's Friend

Aimi

4CuY5Juw_o.png

Aimi stared curiously as the smoke soon became a monkey. ‘Summoning,’ they called it. Something the strange bird bard would try on his own. She calmly walk backwards a few steps to join Aiko, addressing her for the first time in a while. "Is this ‘summoning ritual’ common in this world…?" she murmured, too quiet to hear for any but Aiko and the auditorily-gifted.

After Kevin’s mostly expected reaction, Aimi specified, "It means to… move them into a place where you have an advantage. Thankfully, these cliffs should prove useful. I’ll simply fire down at them from the top, and our close-range fighters can cut off any gentle slopes that could allow them to approach."

Wandering off, Aimi eventually took her position on a nearby cliff, lifting the glass cannon and carefully aiming the barrel towards something. Orcs and ogres were often very similar in fiction, so it was hard to place which was which at such a large distance. Once everyone seemed to be in position, and reasonably ready, she fired.

…sorta.

The shot was loud, but the large glass marble barely left the cannon, instead dropping straight down like she’d accidentally shoved an especially shiny rock off the edge.

"Hm. That’s considerably less range than expected. There appears to be some sort of error with the device…"

Velvet went silent when she saw Desmond's reaction at what she and Kevin did and looked back the bloody legs with the leeches still on it. His reaction was a very normal one, she was a bit careless here because Kevin was good enough to offer her some, but this kind of reaction was why the reason she usually didn't do her meal in front of other people. Even she realizes that the longer she's living as vampire the more desensitized she become towards blood and gore in general. She bowed to Desmond apologetically and collected her leeches.

Kevin reported that he spotted three enemy. She could see that they're guarding the ruin's entrance. The casters and gunners could probably deal with them from the distance, but there's also a chance that they might retreat into the ruins and warned the others instead.

"I'm going to try getting a drop on them." Velvet announced before she put on her hood to cover her head and ran alongside the cliff, trying to find a way to place herself right on the cliff above the entrance.

"I don't know about THIS place, but it's a thing in worlds like these! We are sorta doing the same with our weapons, you know." Aiko replied a tad too excitedly as Aimi inquired about more details regarding this summoning. Of course, her own knowledge was limited to what is, or maybe was, fiction.

"Killzone...?" She then added, tilting her head slightly as everybody prepared to lure the enemy into a trap. Not that she completely disagreed with that but... "Didn't we agree on trying diplomacy one more time, sort of?" She asked towards the group, yet everyone except maybe the Monkey Witch seemed to have made up their mind. "At least we could TRY to ask..." Aiko murmured, moving right to the entrance.

Without a visible weapon and huge lack of expertise, the young hero made the perfect bait?!

"A... monkey..." Helena stated the obvious as it climbed up onto her shoulder. She turned and met eyes with it before setting her sights forward, "I'm sure I can find some use for him."

Desmond began his own conjuring ritual and Aimi asked a question.

"Well, it is my major. Still... still working on mastering it, though."

Given the way that Kevin was talking about the "gnomies", Helena was convinced that trying to talk to them would've been a waste of time. So, instead, she figured she'd help with getting the enemy into a "killzone". If nothing else, a monkey could climb and a monkey could shout. So...

"Monkey." she turned her attention back to the primate on her shoulder, "Climb up the ruins opposite that one-"

She pointed towards Velvet.

"-and start making noise when you get close to them. Should help distract them long enough Velvet to get in."

Actions (1/3)
1). Order the monkey to climb up the ruins opposite Velvet, then start shouting to draw the attention of the guards.

Desmond's preliminary investigation using his reptilian senses would reveal that the three guards stationed just below the group were in fact two orcs and a particularly chunky looking ogre. It was obvious the trio hadn't noticed the group yet. His little eyes would be able to make out a spear, a crossbow and a pair of shields as their armaments respectively. After that was the mystical ritual utilizing his prehistoric tome. A puff of smoke would circle the spot in front of Desmond before taking a vague bipedal shape. Sitting on the ground and doing its best to orient itself was some kind of prehistoric reptile. The creature was roughly Kevin sized but far more bestial compared to whatever Kevin was. Approaching Desmond with its tail swaying from side to side. Rows of pointed teeth could be seen inside of its mouth once it playfully licked Desmonds face. Luckily the little raptors song about wanting a sharp toothed carnivore seemed to have paid off.

Aimi's attempt to fire off her glass cannon at the three guards resulted in the spherical projectile slowly rolling down the cliff face. Hitting a napping snake on the head and making an audible splash in the water below. The crossbow orc looked over, tightening his grip on the weapon in his arms. He just heard a loud noise. Approaching the spot where the orb was floating in the water. He found it shining in the morning sun, curiosity coloring his eyes. Looking up at where the orb may have come from. The orc held out his hand as if checking for glass orb rain. Squinting at the sun before returning to his post. It was clear that Aimi's failed attack hadn't yet revealed their presence.

1734686853148.png

Velvet and the Helena Monkey both began their individual parkour infiltrations around the same time. Velvet efforts got her pretty close to the area just above the entrance. However it seemed like any attempt to move closer may have been pushing it. Helena's Monkey somehow noticed this and scurried atop the spot opposite where the vampire was currently spectating. Picking up a few rocks with his neckerchief. The Monkey lobbed a rock at the ogre, hitting the brute in the back of the head. Once the big guy turned to see what was up. He would only find a monkey playing up how excited it was at tossing rocks. The ogre said something to the Monkey while shaking his fist at the little creature doing its best to act as a distraction. All of a sudden, something whizzed past the Monkey's head. A small trickle of blood stained its cheek red. Velvet would be able to spot the Crossbow Orc having shot at the Monkey with his crossbow.

This would be the first time she would be the one on the side that initiates an attack. Before, Velvet had always been on the defending side, trying to protect someone else from an incoming danger. Were they doing the right thing? She wasn't sure actually. She would be lying if she said she didn't think Kevin as morally and intellectually questionable, but... wasn't that exactly what she wanted to do? Helping people who had no one else to rely on? But Kevin had Wizard, but Wizard for some reason didn't want to help any further. Why?

After all that preaching she did before about comparing their case with pet kidnapping and its terrible implication, she was the one who chickened out on the last second. Her resolve was pathetic. She mentally scolded herself.

The sound of crossbow bolt whizzing through the air jolted her back to reality. Seeing the blood trickled down the monkey's head stimulated her adrenaline. If she didn't do anything fast, the monkey would get shot again. Time for her to act. Looking at the crossbow guard below, Velvet exhaled her breath before she leapt off the cliff towards the direction of the guard with her elbow pointing downward as if she's a wrestler performing a diving attack. If it connects she would follow by yanking the crossbow from the guard.

Summon In Affect:
"Tobaspino"

With a poof of smoke and surging mana, Desmond shielded his eyes before seeing the creature which stood before him. His eyes widened with glee, more than ecstatic to see the first creature he'd summoned since passing his exams. "LOOKY LOOKY!" Desmond cried excitedly, "DESMOND MADE NEW FREND, YEZ! YEZ!" What he saw was a cute little saurian-esque creature, roughly the size of Kevin, sporting a sail-backed theropod body with puppy-like eyes. Why it reminded Desmond of the great Spinosaurians, with their croc-like muzzles, long claws, and of course sporting all various sizes of their name-shake... their sails. Of course, this creature was much smaller and retained its overall primal senses. "Desmond wonders what new creature diz is..." the bard asked himself. He quickly began rummaging through his compendium to see if he could properly identify it, perhaps seeing if this really came from the compendium or if it was a hodgepodge of various elements seen in the creatures within this book.

But before he could solve it, his summon would attack Desmond with a furry of hugs and licks from its goofy stature. "OOPFFTFT H-HEYYYEE EAZY BOY! EAZY! DESMOND IS MASTER, NOT FOOD!" cried the raptor as he struggled against this ferocious atrocity of innocent love and loyal affection. Once he finally got the creature off, Desmond quickly brushed himself off before dusting his robe and preening any feathers sticking messily out of him. "Phewie, daz was close-" the raptor sighed before continuing to look up what exactly he summoned. And indeed, he would find something as the pages magically turned and presented him with a name.

"Hmmmz, Toba... spino?" Desmond pondered before looking back at his summoned friend, "Veeeeery interesting... But long! Too long! MASTER Desmond shall instead call you Toby! Does Toby like that name? Yez? Good!". While admittedly he expected something larger to assist him, this little guy certainly seemed to ooze with potential. His sail was also abnormally sharp for a spinosaurid-like creature.Though just as he finished, he realized the battle had already begun!

Well... Kind of.

Aimi had fired the first shot from her glass cannon... though the marble-like object which emerged merely tumbled off the cliff-face and splashed into the water below. Miraculously they hadn't been spotted or caused an alarming stir by the ogre below. The raptor was more than confused, though Aimi claimed that her gun was faulty. "Desmond recommends you get gun checked." the raptor suggested innocently. Velvet and Helena's Monkey summon would sneak around the walls, parkouring from one platform to the other. WIth them taking the flanks, it was time for Desmond to make a move with his newfound summon.

Them monkey would begin chucking rocks at the folks below, before a crossbow bolt fired from one of the ogres scraped by his cheek. How dare he! Desmond was going to let Toby knock out crossbow ogre for his transgression against- nevermind, Velvet got the drop on it first before he could raise a finger. Right, it was now officially go time.

"Toby!" Desmond barked as he pointed his clawed hand at the big ogre with the two shields, "Big smelly ogre is distracted! Desmond orders you drop down and attack it while its distracted! Aim for its head! Desmond shall help distract them from otherside, yez!"

With his orders relayed, Desmond saw to Toby's departure as he leapt down to a lower platform overlooking the main gate. He then began to caw mockingly at the three with several high-pitched shrills and hisses. "SHREEEEEK! SHREEEEEEK! SMELLY DINGUSES STINK! GO TAKE BATHS YA SMELLIES!" mocked the bard, raising his feathered wings up and down to have them pay their attention to the weird and rude bird calling them names.

Maybe it would help Toby get a good hit on the big guy without him knowing... only then shall Desmond engage further.

Actions:
  1. Orders "Toby" to attack the big Ogre from ledge above.
  2. Drop down to the far right platform.
  3. Attempts to get all three guards' attention by insulting them (hopefully allowing Toby to get a more successful hit).

The battle proper had yet to begin.

The monkey had advanced onto a ruin ledge to distract the front guards. Velvet was moving in to launch the first strike. Desmond had sent in a dinosaur of his own to aid in the assault, then leapt down off of the ledge and started shouting to draw the attention of the guards. Helena was woefully aware of her lack of both combat skills and experience. So, she followed Desmond to the ledge with the intention of jumping down with him-

-but decided to remain up top where she wouldn't get in the way of the warriors.

"Keep throwing those rocks!"

She, too, would shout in the general direction of the enemies. If it didn't draw their attention, then at least it would keep her familiar on the aggressive; offering the others support.

Actions (2/3)
1) Move near the ledge over Desmond.
2) Order the monkey to keep attacking.

Aimi

4CuY5Juw_o.png

Aimi glanced up from her gun at Desmond as he echoed her own sentiment. She appeared ever-so-subtly irked, but was too polite, or principled depending on how one looked at it, to snark back. "That is a good suggestion…" was all she said, though she gave the terrifying raptor a long, suspicious look.

And so, for the next several moments, that’s exactly what Aimi did. Measuring humidity, temperature, average air pressure, and every other metric she could think to. "This worked in the tests…" she insisted, starting to grow frustrated.

"Forget the cannon, I’ll just use th—" She was about to whip something out form her pocket, when she noticed it: Aiko just casually walking up to them? Right to the entrance? How perfect! If the rest of them were slow or incompetent enough, those guards might just finish the pest off for her.

"Ah, wait, I understand what went wrong," she lied, loosening a screw… then tightening the screw… then fiddling with the trigger… then polishing the top of the cannon, and so on…

Aiko

4rGdlNR.png

It seemed like the various distractions worked well enough that Aiko was able to get closer and closer without being noticed. Despite being in alleged sight range of each other, the monkey seemed charming enough that they didn't pay any attention to her small frame.

Aiko sighed, did they skip the conversation part? Maybe she should have been more aggressive! Feeling slightly irritated, she slotted a gemstone into her gauntlet and sang a single hymn. "Wee quel gagis swantes." Steadfast but annoyed at a multitude of things, a blade of energy formed around her gauntlet before she rushed forward, aiming a horizontal slice at the (reloading?) crossbow wielder if none of the other two would get in her way.

"You just sit right there and get a bolt in your head you damn dirty ap- HURGHHH" said the crossbow orc as a random vampire dropped from the sky and elbowed him in the neck. Stumbling around with only a single arm propping up his crossbow. The weapon ended up shooting off at random rather than its intended target of the monkey. Velvet had succeeded in attacking the crossbow orc but had just missed grabbing his weapon away from him. As this was happening, Aiko would find herself perfectly positioned to strike at the crossbow orc herself. Her energy blade struck true and sliced at the crossbow orcs stomach, eliciting a groan of pain as a thin stream of blood began trickling out of his abdomen. "H-help me!" cried the orc crossbowman, who was in the process of trying to regain his footing so he could once again start firing off his crossbow. Unfortunately his comrades seemed to have their attention on something far more loud and obnoxious that drew them away from assisting the orc crossbowman for now.

Toby the Tobaspino heeded Desmonds order and leapt off the cliff. Tucking his body in on itself and spinning as he began his descent. The rapidly approaching dinosaur appeared like some kind of saurian sawblade. Unfortunately for Desmonds brilliant plan, Toby himself wasn't quite strong enough to break through the hardy defense of the shield ogre. Landing in front of the hulking brute after his attack practically whiffed. He was saved when Desmond began jeering and insulting the trio of guards for their personal hygiene. Helena's order for her monkey to keep throwing rocks shocked the little simian out of the daze it had been in after receiving its light but still alarming head-wound. Hopping up and down in response. The monkey scooped up the nearest rock and flung it full force at the ogre since it had noticed Toby's attack fail. Although he did his best to aim at the ogres face to get it riled up. Instead the rock knocked down a crossbow bolt that had been fired from the crossbow orcs weapon. Luckily too since said bolt seemed to have been soaring towards the taunting Desmond.

"KEVIN!" yelled the trash lizard, leaping off of the cliffside where Aimi was fixing up her weapon. Landing on the steps leading up to the area in front of the door. Smacking his potlid and rusty machete together. Kevin breathed a gout of flame at the orc spearman. "What the hell? WHY ARE YOU HERE?! DO WE REALLY GOTTA BEAT YOUR SCALY ASS AGAIN?" stated the exasperated looking orc spearman. Kevin HAD stated that the orcs had beat him up during his last attempt to rescue his friend. "GIVE BACK KEVIN FRIEND, STUPID ORC AND OGRE!" screamed Kevin while waving his scaled arms around like a madman. It may not have been the most glorious or well executed of ambush plans. Yet it could be argued that the group had taken these guards completely by surprise.

Having managed to attack the crossbowman, Velvet raised her head to look for another target. Kevin was holding the attention of the spearman so it left the big shielder unoccupied. The adrenaline rushing through her bloodstream made her lose some of her judgement as she focused on downing as many enemies as possible.

As Desmond jumped down to see the fruits of Toby's success, he'd find that his efforts were unfortunately in vain. The raptor winced as the summon bounced off the ogre's shield before landing right in front of the hulking brute. This alone was enough for him to jeer and taunt the ogre's attention towards him, allowing the lil' spino to survive being squashed into a spiny pancake. "DIRTY!!! STINKY!!! SMELLIESSSSS!" Desmond yapped obnoxiously in the act. The ogre with the crossbow seemed to snarl in irritation as he aimed his weapon at Desmond. He was just about to shoot a round into him when Helena's monkey summon incredibly plucked the bolt just as it left the crossbow, saving Desmond from becoming a plucked "turkey".

"WOAGH!" Desmond gasped as he saw the little monkey friend and nodded gratefully, "THANKS LIL BUDDY!"

Refocusing on the action at hand, he studied the current situation at hand. Seeing as the crossbowman was being assaulted by Velvet and Aiko, some of them should focus on the other warriors nearby. Seeing Kevin go after the spearman, Desmond would once again bark an order at Toby. "TOBY! GO HELP KEVIN WITH SPEARZ GUY!" the raptor called out, "DESMOND COMIN OVER TO HELP!"

With a deep breath, Desmond leapt off the ledge with an impressive leap [Jumping E] as he spread both his wings and tail to help maneuver himself in the air. His landing point was meant to be the crossbowman, but he wouldn't attack him. Instead he'd attempt to land on his head and then leap off him towards his the spearman nearby. "KRYAAAAAAAAH!" screamed Desmond like a banshee as his arms and claws splayed forth to pounce on the spearman's head and deliver a fury of scratches and bites at his face.

The shield ogre was taken aback at how quickly Velvet had closed the distance between them, raising his shields to tank her attacks. Unfortunately for him, her strike wasn't aimed at his abdomen. Instead Velvets razor sharp claws cleaved through the back of his leg, drawing a stream of crimson blood. Forced onto his knee and with a stinging pain shooting up his leg. The shield ogre did his best to keep his guard up so as not to be taken by surprise. All of a sudden a rock came flying at his head, smacking against his temple with a heavy THWACK. Helena's monkey had once again made its presence known to the trio of guards with a very loud display of chest beating now that things seemed to be going its way. Looking over at Helena who was still overlooking the group next to Aimi. The monkey continued to pound its furry chest to show its master the sheer confidence it was feeling at that moment. The shield ogre tried to focus its attention on the monkey, only to be blindsided by Desmond using his head as a platform to leap off of to engage the spear orc to the side of him.

As for Kevin and Desmond who were currently engaged with the spear orc. The spear orc had managed to avoid the worst of Kevin's flames at the last second, save for a few fresh burns covering one of his arms. Screeching at the pair with murderous intent in his eyes. He attempted to thrust his weapon into Kevins stomach. Kevin received the attack and blocked it with his potlid shield. This move allowed Desmond to spring off of the ground to attack the spear orc with a flurry of claw swipes and biting. Attempting the shake Desmond off while howling in pain from the raptors furious attacks. Kevin took the chance to try hitting the spear orc in the leg with his scrap machete. Bringing the weapon down on the orcs leg. The attack missed entirely, Kevin nearly losing his footing in the process. "AH YOU FUCKERS!!! IM GONNA KILL YOU ONCE I GET THIS STUPID GECKO OFF OF ME!" yelled the spear orc, who STILL hadn't managed to remove Desmond from his face.

The crossbow orc had managed to recover somewhat from his dazed state. Taking aim at the nearby Aiko, he let loose a bolt from his crossbow. Luckily for Aiko, the projectile missed anything vital. Unfortunately it still managed to embed itself in her arm, causing blood to start soaking through her sleeve. The crossbow orc couldn't see Aiko's expression throw her bangs but he hoped it was one of fear and anguish. So far the battle was going in favor of the party, although it was obvious that victory wasn't going to come easily given the sturdiness of their opponents. Kevin had pointed at these guys were farm grown bodyguards for the gnomes, they weren't going to go down easily. Yet the groups actions so far had proved these things COULD be hurt. If they could be hurt, they could be killed.

This was going perfectly! Aiko wounded, maybe soon to be dead, and victory within reach on their end. With any luck, she’d be the one and only casualty! Too bad that dolt of an orc missed all the important componen— or uhh… organs. Right, yes, they had those now.

Aimi pretended to try firing the cannon again, despite knowing it wouldn’t work. It didn’t work (shocker). She simply dropped it onto the ground. "Well, that’s unfortunate," Aimi was a terrible actress. "I suppose I have one other thing to help ensure our victory."

Revealing a freshly-made lens with a faint golden glow to it, Aimi jumped down from her perch, ran forward, and approached the shield orc boldly. With a flourish, she tossed the lens into the sky, and threw her fist forward. Flesh turned to light, and light to lightning, crackling against the giant shield.

Actions
  1. Run for the Shield Orc.
  2. Use Lightning Lens.

Seeing the crossbow orc stood back up and even managed to wound one of the party, Velvet immediately changed her focus and rushed towards the crossbow orc. Unlike her sneakier approach against the shield ogre, this time her attack was obvious. She simply ran towards the crossbow and launched a mean left hook to their face, before following soon with an uppercut to their stomach.

Action:
1) Move toward the crossbow orc
2) Use Power Hook - Fighting Style Natural Weapon E, Athletics F - Launch a mean hook towards the target - 1 action - E Grade - 1 post cooldown

Desmond was holding on for dear life onto the orc's head, continuing to kick and scratch at its face with reckless abandon. "GRAAAAAAH!!!" he screeched wildly as if bringing about to his wild, primal nature, "FEEL THE WRATH OF THE GREAT AND MIGHTY DESMOND!" Aside from his teeth and claws, his infamous toe claw would also be put to work. Already it seems to be flinging dangerously close towards the spear orc's eye, whether that was on purpose or my coincidental "accident". Hopefully Kevin and Toby would be able to finish the job sooner than later.

Aiko clenched her teeth as the bolt pierced her arm. She had experienced the emotion of pain before, but it was different with all those fleshy bits involved. Yet the girl knew better than to get too distracted in a life-death situation. As the battle had dissolved into a simple brawl, she had to finish the enemy in front of her off.

Groaning in pain, she used the opening her ally provided to rush forward again and put all her body weight into a simple stab attack with her arm, right in the stomach.

Action:
Weapon Attack against Crossbow Orc

You know what? Her parents were right. No amount of school could prepare someone for this. And while her common sense was telling her to stay put...

...her desire to complete the quest told her that her best course of action was to assist her companions before one of them died. She took a deep breath then yelled at the top of her lungs.

"MONKEY! HELP DESMOND. CAVE THAT SPEARMAN'S SKULL IN WITH A ROCK!"
Then she leapt down and ran, fast as she could, up to the spearman; a feat that might've astonished anyone who'd worn high-heels before. As soon as she got to him, she'd deliver a swift kick to groin. Was it potent? Of course it wasn't. Not even remotely. But maybe, if that Orc was left trying to contend with a dinosaur a rock-wielding monkey and redhead trying to crack open his testicles all at once, something lethal would slip through his defenses between the three of them and put him down.

Actions (3/3):
1) Order her monkey familiar to jump on the spearman and bash his skull in with a rock.
2) Use

3) Kick him in his balls, granting Desmond a +1 combo in his attempt to eat the orc's face.

The Spear Orc was having a hard time of it considering that THREE people were gunning for him. Attempting to once again shake Desmond from attacking his face. He would receive an unpleasant surprise in the form of Desmond toe claw slicing through his eyelid. "OW! YOU STUPID FUCKING CHICKEN!" cried the Spear Orc whilst trying his best to swat at Desmond before his actual eyeball was next on the chopping block. Unfortunately it was at that time that Kevin brought his red hot sword down on the wooden shaft of the Spear Orcs spear. Slicing through the shaft entirely and getting his weapon stuck in the ground for a bit. Kevin began hissing in triumph as if he did something amazing despite now being less of a threat. Momentarily taken aback by the splitting of his weapon. The spear orc was unable to dodge the rock that hit him in the back of the head, causing his body to stagger a little. Said stagger was only made MUCH worse when Helena proceeded to kick him right in the genitals in high heels. Overwhelmed by the sheer pain of it all. The spear orc collapsed onto the the ground, unconscious.

Meanwhile Aiko was doing her best to fight through the pain caused by the Crossbow Orc's lucky shot. The Crossbow Orc's attention was focused on Aiko, his crossbow raised. Such a focus on the wannabe heroine caused the Crossbow Orc to completely miss Velvet coming up and slugging him in the face with her vampire fist. The follow up uppercut caused him to audibly wheeze in pain while struggling to hold onto his weapon. Aiko's surprise hand strike to the SAME SPOT as Velvet caused him to immediately vomit up the contents of his gut. Faceplanting into a puddle of his own puke. The crossbow orc could only twitch and gargle in the sick. Luckily his crossbow wasn't dropped into the puddle, allowing either Aiko or Velvet to pick it up. It didn't have any bolts nearby which meant a better inspection may have been in order after the battle was over.

Aimi's flourish at the beginning of her attack caught the Shield Ogre's attention. The lightning lens attack she successfully pulled off caused the large hulking brute to begin shaking as he was electrified. Shaken and disoriented. Aimi's surprise tactics had resulted in the Shield Ogre getting VERY mad at her. Although his loadout would suggest he was primarily a tank for the other two. His muscular frame indicated that he was no less formidable. Using his two round shields. He slammed them together in front of Aimi's face to try and inflict an equally disorienting experience for HER and she did to him.

Actions:
1: Cut through Spear Shaft = Fighting Style F (Sword) + Blight F (Flame)
2: Get sword stuck in ground

"Good Job!" Aiko gave Velvet a strong nod as the crossbow wielding enemy collapsed under its own weight, taking two quick steps away. "And thank you..." She added. Staring at the dropped crossbow for just a moment and... ignoring it, for now anyway.

There were more important matters at hand. With some strain, Aiko removed the gem by pulling it out - subsequently 'sheathing' her weapon - and instead replacing it with a small, green, emerald. A few neon lines garnished her arm as she pointed with open palm towards the dual wielding shield ogre. Under her bangs, the soon-to-be-heroine closed her eyes for just a moment. "Darkened mines, the crushing of air, stifled breath — ZEPHYRNOTE!" With that, Aiko aimed to suffocate the ogre by taking away the very air around his head region!

Action:
Using Consumable: Mémoire — Zephyrnote
Formula: Magic F, Wind Affinity F, Accurate F
Description: Compresses the air around the target to fold into itself, an attack quick enough to warrant increased accuracy.

Velvet nodded back at Aiko and gave her a thumb up, happy that no further harm was done to her. Now that two of the guards were out, they can focus their attacks all on one target.

"Let's finish this!" Velvet launched herself towards the shield ogre and, like a glitch in reality, suddenly blinked 10 feet forward and attempted to tackle the ogre in the chest to help with Aiko's suffocation technique by knocking the air out from the ogre's lungs.

Action:
1) Move toward the shield ogre
2-3) Use Flickering Power Tackle - Fighting Style Natural Weapon F, Knockback F, Teleport F, Athletics F - Teleport 10 ft away and crash into a target to knock the air out of them - 2 action - F Grade - 1 post cooldown

"Tobaspino"

As soon as he felt the spear orc go down, Desmond proceeded to leap off to inspect what was left of their victim. And well, he was still generally in one piece.... though it was evidently clear that he had enough and had succumbed to his torment. His face was sliced up and his groin straight-up busted. "YIPPIE! YIPPIE!" the little raptor cawed to the heavens before eying Kevin, Toby, Helena and her monkey familiar respectively, "Good workz guyz! Desmond is proud of yahs, yez!" He then glanced over to see Aiko and Velvet take care of the crossbow orc in short order... leaving only the shield orc left for them to worry about.

"Onez more to go!" Desmond cried as he watched Aiiko and Velvet commit to their finishing blows. He looks over at Tobaspino and nods before pointing at their foe, "Toby! Desmond commands you help friends out! Redeem yerself and strike at his legs! Knock orcy-pig downz, yez!"

With the order set, the young raptor watched hopefully as the climatic finish was in their grasp.

After the spear orc fell, Helena turned her attention towards the final foe that remained standing on the field. The shield orc who'd been fighting Aimi. She heard Desmond order his familiar to attack their final foe, and followed in suit with her own.

"Monkey! Take out that last orc!"

Hopefully, between the efforts of the monkey, the dinosaur, Kevin, the living AI, the vampire and Aimi, herself, they could put this battle to a swift end.

Actions (1/3)
1) Order her familiar to attack the final orc.

Aimi

Aimi felt a satisfying jolt as the electricity arced into the shield orc, hoping that it’d finish him off. Instead, it staggered and banged a pair of shield symbols right in front her ears.

"Oww!" Aimi exclaimed, covering her— wait no, that was her nose… ah, there they were —her ears. This… ‘pain’ thing. She very didn’t like it. That wasn’t surprising, as biological organisms all reacted quite negatively to it. Oh, how she’d fallen. To let something as altogether meaningless as pain influence her actions to such inefficiency.

On the other hand, she also had nothing. Quite literally nothing. No weapon, no magic, and since their language didn’t seem to be a part of her database, not even conventional psychological tactics were available.

This was a small comfort. After all, it wasn’t an inefficient action taken by cause of pain, no. It was the most efficient action she could have taken, to reduce the incoming damage to her eardrums, while making the best use of the resources she had available: ie, allies.

And so, Aimi merely stepped back, giving way to a flurry of attacks coming in from all angles. A monkey, a dinosaur, a vampire, and an irritant. Best not stand too close to that.

"Good work, everyone," she commented calmly, hoping no one had noticed any form of weakness she might have displayed, and thereby eroding that vision of absolute perfection lesser beings ought to have of her. "My plan worked out perfectly, as I calculated."
