My Marionettes

Hello there. Thank you for taking the time to read my search thread. I look forward to chatting and creating wonderful stories with you.
The name is Marionette, or any name of character we create moving forward.
I’m in my early 30’s so I do prefer those of age when writing, out of respect and comfort for myself and my partner.
My writing style includes paragraphs anywhere from 3-8 depending upon the scene, my partners comfortability and the flow of the story. I will say that I tend to average out between 3-4 paragraphs on a normal response though I can do more so long as there is enough to work with.
I am PST time zone and I’m most active on my days off from work so you could see at least one to two posts a day, depending upon my current load of stories at any given moment. I will prioritize stories I’m enjoying more than others though. Sorry, not sorry.
I do enjoy ooc chatter and highly recommend it prior to and especially during our writing process. I enjoy being able to bounce ideas off my partner, check in to ensure we are both still enjoying it and if not, make the changes necessary to ensure we get back on track. If that story is dead in the water I’m always happy to create something new, so don’t be afraid to ask. And yes, we can have multiple stories going at the same time. If we like each other's writing styles.
When creating our stories, I do prefer PM’s. I don’t like writing in threads as I tend to lose track of them far easier than I do with PM’s so there’s that.
I am open to writing in google docs though if that’s your preference.
I haven’t used discord in years so I do prefer to keep everything on site (save for google docs). I might be convinced to use Discord IF we get along well and you’re able to convince me of the perks we don’t have on site.
Now, I often create characters for each new story I create, but I will occasionally use older characters I’ve created over the years or those who come with a set plot.
I do like writing basic character sheets but I’m willing to make them more in depth if my partner prefers it. I just really like being able to explore the character through the story, allowing for plenty of room to grow and develop.
When it comes to doubling, I’m not opposed to it, but I don’t prefer it. I don’t have enough experience when it comes to playing two primary characters at all times. I will include side characters throughout the story to ensure it’s engaging and makes the world more realistic and full.
Writing Preference do’s and don’ts
I don’t like writing premade characters from books, shows, movies, ect. If we do use any of those worlds, and I’m good with doing so, I will be using an OC. That is not up for debate.
I heavily prefer creating plots, so if you like anything that stands out below, feel free to PM me directly and we can get this show on the road.
I do prefer to have romance in each story, it just keeps me more interested in the story. But it won't be the primary focus of the story. There has to be more substance than that. Angst, action, drama whatever.
I will not reply to comments on this thread UNLESS you are not able to PM me directly.
What I’m looking for:
I’d like my partner to be 18+
Capable of writing a minimum of 3 paragraphs. (One liners will be ignored. You’ve been warned.)
Open to OOC prior and during the RP.
Willing to help push the story forward.
Open to changing the direction of the story if things aren’t going well or we think of something more interesting/likely to happen.
Word Bank (Not an exhaustive list)
Enemies to Lovers, Soulmates, princess, prince, arranged marriage, mafia, knights, fantasy, slice of life, forbidden love, werewolf, fae, dragons ect.
Underlined is MC preference. If none is underlined, I’m open to either role.
Muse A is a normal human girl who happens to be at the right place at the wrong time and ends up seeing one of the sons of the local mafia killing someone. She’s seen but manages to escape but things aren’t looking so good for her.
For this plot I’m open to exploring all options from the detectives she works with after reporting the crime, to being caught by the mafia prince and held against her will. Why doesn’t he just kill her? Or maybe an opposing higher up mafia individual. She can be on the run and encounter someone completely outside of it all who decides to help her. Honestly open to any ideas you have.
Muse A awoke to glass being broken, her husband told her to hide, and she fled to the closet, pushing herself as far back behind the clothes as humanly possible. It didn’t take long before she heard the sounds of flesh hitting flesh and bones breaking. Her husband appeared on the floor at the end of their bed, hands up as he tried to protect himself from the intruders. Two male figures she didn’t recognize continued to hit and kick him and only when he was unable to fight back, did they stop. They demanded to know where it was, however they never clarified what it was. Her husband seemed to know though and remained silent. The men grew frustrated after a while, finding that their methods weren’t working. One of the men, a little too eager and happy to inflict injury, ended up pulling out a knife, stabbing him repeatedly until he released his last breath.
Then the two men tore apart the house searching for whatever it was they were looking for. Sirens could be heard in the middle of their ransacking alerting them to the situation, so grabbing whatever paperwork they could from her husband's desk, they climbed out the fire escape and disappeared into the night.
Muse A had a lot of explaining to do, but the more the detectives questioned her, the more they seemed to be investigating her and not the men she’d seen. Trying to pin the murder on her, she packed a bag and fled in the darkness of the night. On the run and with nowhere to go, she hitched a ride on the first train out of the state. She didn’t know where she was going or what would happen, all she knew was she had to get away.
Several days later she finally settled down in a small town of Livingston Montana. Here she began to carve a life out for herself.
Muse B can be a detective either on her side or against her, a local, or whoever else strikes your fancy.
In a kingdom where human and werewolf bloodlines meet, Muse A finds herself torn between duty and desire. Muse B secretly bears the curse of transforming into a wolf at every full moon. As romantic tension simmers beneath their duties, dark forces threaten to unleash chaos. Together they must navigate a love that could be the key to uniting their worlds or torn apart by feral battles waged in shadowy forests under the haunting moonlight.
In a quaint coastal town, Muse A discovers an ancient diary hidden within the walls of their late grandmother’s home. The journal reveals the love story of a spirited mermaid named Seraphine and a ship captain from centuries past. As Muse A begins to experience vivid dreams of the pair's tragic romance, they uncover an unfinished curse binding their souls. With the help of Muse B, a mysterious local with a connection to the sea, Muse A must piece together their intertwined fates and decide whether to risk it all for a love that transcends time – or fade into oceanic obscurity forever.
In a charming town, Muse A falls for Muse B, their best friend's older brother and a key player in the family's successful business. Their undeniable chemistry ignites a hidden romance that must unfold away from prying eyes. As ethical dilemmas surface and loyalties are tested, Muse A grapples with betrayal when their friendship threatens to unravel after discovering their secret love affair. With love on the line and choice plaguing them both, they must confront the question: is passion worth risking everything they've ever known?
Muse A finds herself trapped in an arranged marriage with the enigmatic heir of a notorious mafia family. As tensions run high between their families, she discovers her fiancé, Muse B, is not just a ruthless enforcer but also harboring dreams of leaving the criminal underworld behind. Together, they navigate the dangerous waters of loyalty and love, forging an unexpected bond that could either unite them or lead to undoing everything they've ever known. Will their hearts prevail against family feuds and dark secrets lurking in the shadows?
When Muse A crosses paths with Muse B, a hauntingly handsome heir to a notorious mafia dynasty, sparks ignite against their better judgment. As tension simmers beneath their growing attraction, tangled loyalties and dark family secrets threaten to pull them apart. With rival factions eyeing her every move, she must decide whether to embrace the dangerous love that promises passion or protect her freedom and life by resisting his allure, leading her into a whirlwind of betrayal, risk, and eventually, an unexpected bond forged in fire.
In a world where everyone's soulmates are revealed on their 25th birthday through an ethereal tattoo, Muse A wakes up to a fading mark that vanishes moments after it appears. Desperate for answers, she uncovers an underground society of “tattoo-less souls.” As she navigates this hidden realm, she meets Muse B, whose time-worn fate intertwines with hers. Together, they challenge destiny’s design and explore what it truly means to love beyond the constraints of a singular soulmate. Can they forge their own path or will the universe rip them apart for defying its plan?
In a thriving city, detective Alex Lane is tasked with solving the murder of a high-profile lawyer entangled in illegal deals. As Alex investigates the case, he discovers an unexpected connection to Mia, the victim’s secret love—a café owner hiding her own secrets. As their forbidden passion ignites amidst shadows of deceit and danger, they must navigate their burgeoning romance while unmasking a killer lurking in the backdrop. Torn between duty and desire, Alex faces questions about loyalty, integrity, and what it truly means to love someone deeply caught in a web of crime.
Private detective Elena Grey is hired to investigate the suspicious death of a renowned heart surgeon on the night of his wedding. As she unravels the secrets buried within his seemingly perfect existence, she finds herself drawn to the grieving widow, whose elegance conceals a haunting past. With each clue Elena uncovers, passion and danger intertwine, ultimately leading her to confront familial ties that bind them both. In a race against time, she must decide between uncovering the truth and protecting the woman who holds the key to her own feelings—before love becomes fatal.
In a small military town, elite operative Jake Mason is tasked with guarding the daughter of the powerful mayor, whose political ambitions could uncover a sinister plot involving illegal arms deals. As Jake protects her from hidden threats, his feelings transform from duty to passion. When they stumble upon evidence that connects her father to the dangerous underground ring, loyalty is tested—will he choose love or follow orders? Complicated emotions rise and shadows close in, leading them into a deadly game where trust becomes their most valuable weapon.
