The signups were a boring job, but someone had to do it. Today, that someone was Eugene The Significant, Two Time World Dancing Federation Champion and all around big man on campus. Even a boring job could be perked up by the right attitude, and Eugene's voice was splitting nearby ears talking about the power of positivity. It was, after all, how he'd gotten through life, and he was convinced it'd work for anyone.

It was at that moment that he spied two odd looking folks, definitely not human, hand in hand with a large hellhound sort of thing following. Delightful! He loved new entrants, even if these were to be the last of the day! So, with his usual aplomb and flair, he called out to them to welcome them to the school. "AWWWWWW NEW STUDENTS! WELCOME TO ORIENS!" he did boldly declare. "COME AND GET YOUR SIGNUP SHEETS, YOUR EMERGENCY CONTACT FORMS, AND YOUR PAMPHLET FOR THE SCHOOL DANCE HAPPENING THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!"

His dancing leotard for today was a particularly offensive combination of blacks, reds and yellows and his World Dancing Federation Championship Belt was secure around his considerable girth. Even though it was days until the dance, he had to make sure he was prepared!
Kammie Soseki Noticing the very loud and vibrant teacher Kammie let go of Marcus's hand and held it to her mouth trying not to giggle. "Glad to be back for another year. Do you happen to have the forms for pet information?" Holding Snap in both hands she pet him as he looked at the teacher with his head tipped to the side.

Aww. Come on Kammie. You couldn't have let me hold your hand a little longer." Marcus said, while pouting his lip.

Regio wasn't particularly concerned about the snakegirl's health. One had a way to become fairly familiar with snakes when living in the human camps over at South America, so he was used to seeing similar things, and she went right back to talking anyway so she was probably fine. No one ever went back to talking normally if they weren't fine. He hadn't, however, seen a human-like jaw do that before, and was fairly impressed. "Whoa girly, that was pretty cool" he rattled off as she said something about statements and sticking around after the lesson. "Write that the uniform sucks and makes everyone look like an elf's hired help and they should get rid of it".

"AWWWW SON, DON'T YOU DAAARE BE SOUR!" Eugene bellowed to the depressed looking white haired kid. Really, there was no reason to be grumpy when a girl let go of your hand! They got their own lives! Speaking of girl's own lives, Eugene scrambled about on the signup table, looking for the paperwork for the... oh there it is!

"HERE YOU GO, LITTLE LADY!" roared the big boisterous man as he handed over a thirty page form for ownership of a pet on academy grounds. It wasn't quite a doorstopper but it was close! "YOU JUST FILL IN THOSE FORMS AND YOUR LITTLE BABY WILL BE ALL GOOD! OH!" Eugene had forgotten something! With difficulty considering his immense size, he leaned forward and pulled out a pair of huge textbooks from underneath, placing them down on the table carefully. One must always go to great pains to save the tables, especially considering the propensity for wanton destruction many students bore towards sweet, innocent furniture. "I HAVE HERE YOUR PET CARE MANUALS, REQUIRED READING FOR OWNING A PET ON SCHOOL GROUNDS! A FUN, POSITIVE READ!"

"Kammie I will carry these for you." I say as I get a little uncomfortable with the big man talking so loud, because it was hurting my head because of my heightened hearing.

Kammie Soseki "Thanks for the offer Marcus, I've got it though." Setting Snap on the ground beside her she took the papers and manuals and started walking toward the dorms stopping suddenly. "Oh might not want to forget the other two things but I'd also like a sign up form for the disciplinary committee and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need my dorm key to get into my dorm." Smiling Kammie placed the papers and manuals on the edge of the sign up desk.

Eugene's expression dropped from ecstatic to befuddled. Sign up form for the disciplinary committee? "I DON'T THINK YOU KNOW HOW THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE WORKS, LITTLE LADY!" he boomed, clearly intending to explain to the poor girl just how a sign-up worked. It was a complicated situation, full of nuance and diplomacy, and one did not just 'fill out forms'. "YOU NEED TO BE VOUCHED FOR, BY A TEACHER AND A CURRENT MEMBER!" he explained, "AND YOU SAY YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN HERE! THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! ARE YOU REAPPLYING FOR A REASON?!" His befuddlement grew with every question. Man, non-dance work was hard!

"BUT, EUGENE THE SIGNIFICANT IS NOT AN UNKIND MAN!
" Back under his beloved table Eugene went, scurrying around for something (as well as a three hundred pound pile of muscle could anyway) and reemerged with a dorm key. "KEY 121. DON'T LOSE IT!"

I started to get really irritated from the man replying with such a loud voice, not trying to lower it just a little. "Sorry excuse me Mr. Eugene is it. Could you please try to use a quieter voice. You are starting to give me a headache." I say in the most non irritated voice I could manage." I then pick up my application form. "Oh and could I have my room key if it is not to hard of a action. I mean I can come around there and get it, because it seems like you are knocking a lot of things over?"

Kammie Soseki "Oh no I know how the disciplinary committee works, I'm sure they changed how to apply this year but I'm sure that's part of the process." Taking the key Kammie put it in her pocket and picked up the papers and manuals.

Eugene was puzzled. Did this man have a hearing problem? Was Eugene, in fact, not being sensitive? This would not do! He adjusted the nametag on his leotard and roundly stated, "I'M SORRY YOUNG MAN, I'LL TRY AND KEEP IT DOWN FROM NOW ON," in the quietest voice he could muster. All in all, it was a rather subdued statement from the larger than larger than life man.

But he had important business to tend to. "NOW I SAID DON'T YOU DAAAAARE BE SOUR," he explained again, fiddling around on the table and once again knocking everything everywhere. He found the room key, associated with the name of someone called I, and handed it over. "ROOM 7,821. AND REMEMBER, FEEL THE POWER OF POSITIVITY!" The puzzled mood didn't last long. He was straight back to his big, jolly self.

Marcus grabbed the key, and was more than pissed. "Well Mr. Eugene you have a great day too." As I walk to my room I let out a low growl, and bare my canine teeth a little. "Good job Marcus you held out. Good job." I mumble to myself reassuring that I handled it well.

"It's fine, it's fine! I was just surprised. I'm a constrictor-type, so, you know, it just kinda happens sometimes. Don't worry about it."

She reached into her bag and retrieved a pen and legal pad.

"...like an elf's hired help and they should get rid of it-", she leaned back, "Can I get a name to go with that, by any chance?"

Kylier

Location: Dining Hall

With: Rose

"Hmm..."

Kylier smiled at Rose. She gave expected answers, after all who would come to here for Mel on good terms...

"So you are saying that not even her parents would come for her, if they are still around... A shame, but I understand your point. What instead of on good, friendly terms, someone, or others came here on bad terms for Mel, here for her because of what she had done? Would that be so strange? They could even sign up here as a student, or faculty to that end, and may be in this lunchroom now perhaps."

Kylier looked around, bemused by her train of thought before returning to Rose with a smile that fits her quite well

"Quite a hypothetical situation that would make I believe, that could be real... In fact... Was that not Bunny who did such?"

"Call me

, Regio Riestra. That's R-E-G-I-O, it's portuguese. So, what's all this about? I thought we were here to have class, not answer to the papers. I don't mind but I was expecting things to be different, you know?". Capoeira is a playful martial art, and there was plenty of singing and dancing and merryment to be found in the escola, but the De Luta style took its training very seriously and classes were held with the utmost respect for the professores and the mestre or mestres and paying undivided attention.
It was a strange but well-balanced contrast between the classes and the joy of the roda. The roda was the circular formation where practitioners sang and played instruments as others took to the center, given free reign to showcase their skills either in a sparring match or as a game of rhythm, positioning and guile; all things which play a very important role in a real fight. It was surprising for Reynaldo, therefore, that a class in the supposedly most prestigious school in the world would be so...haphazard.

Naomi eventually managed to get a sort of decipherable series of directions from the punkish boy, and made her way to her room.

She toggled the key into the door, and swung it open, adjusting her bag on her shoulder. Good Impressions, she thought as she entered the room. "Ms. Marner? My apologies for being late, I got completely los-" she clicked on the light, and stopped, taking in the current state of the room.

She bit back a guffaw, all semblance of formality evaporating as she took in her surroundings. "What happened in here?" She said with a short laugh to the person tied to the chair. "And who the hell are you- cuz I'm pretty sure you're not my roommate." She covered her mouth with one hand, failing to conceal her wide grin.

Azure

Location: Room 453

With: Vize and Naomi

"... eh?"

Azure looked up not expecting anyone to come so soon. He was sure this must of been the roommate Adrian brought over here to get him out of the room awesome.

"Well uh... ya I'm not your roommate... your roommate probably tied me up and brought me here while I was sleeping!"

Azure looked away with an embarrassed grin, seeing her trying to hide a grin of her own.

"Since you're here... can I please ask you to do me a favor and help me out here. I'd rather get out of here while she's still asleep... I don't know why she keeps doing this... but, I kinda just want to get out now..."

Vize was just lazily sleeping on the bed, enjoying her slumber, sprawled out on the bed

Christine had not, in fact, entered the classroom yet. Instead, she stood at the doorway, pointing people inside to assist them in not walking facefirst into the wall due to the large quantity of fake doors along the hallway. The presence of the vile snake of a student newspaper reporter in the classroom may also have played into her decision.

After she'd pointed a few students into the classroom, she'd hatched a plan to put the busybody in her place. Her body shifted and reformed, and when she entered the classroom it was not Christine that was seen but Maxine. Her baton had been shifted into Maxine's bat, and it was pointed straight at that treacherous snake. "Hey, you, the lesser lizard! Stop harassing those students or I'll give you a detention you'll wish you could forget!"

"Oh! Oh thank goodness." Antonio placed a hand on his chest. "I'm getting up there in years; don't scare me like that."

As he walked back to his desk, a dragon had pranced in, demanding that the snake stop asking for the opinions of others about school lunches or whatever it was. The priest's eye twitched involuntarily. It was so normal for a dragon to force itself upon others with threats of violence. Out of all the monsters Redgrave had faced, they were perhaps the most suited to acts of tyranny.

His eyes narrowing, he exhaled slowly, and deeply, a single finger brushing across the crucifix at his hip.

"That's quite unnecessary, Miss Dragon. Class has not begun, so something so simple as socializing is far less disruptive than bringing a baseball bat into my classroom. But... no harm has been done, yet, so I'll afford you a second chance. Put the weapon away, and you'll be spared your own week in detention. Now, would you please be so kind as to sit down, all of you? It is time for class to start, and there's quite a bit for us to cover."

With that, he ducked down under the desk, and began to shuffle around inside some drawers, sifting through a number of dusty old tomes.

(very sorry for the hold up earlier guys, will have Corbins post up within 24 hours.)

Adrian

Location: English Classroom.

With: English Class, Julian

Adrian entered the English classroom with as much stealth as he could muster, he didn't have a watch yet so there was no way for the shapeshifter to know whether he would be arriving early, on time, or late but he knew that his mission to find 'the mysterious roommate'--now known to actually have been Naomi--had taken longer than originally planned and left him with very little time to grab his books as well as a quick snack from a local vending machine. He surveyed the room, looking for a place to sit while simultaneously noticing several distinguished students including two that sported serpent lower half's, and the teacher himself who's gaze Adrian was doing his best to aviod before finally settling down in an empty seat next to a primly, organized person with orange hair and stacking his books on the desk. Hmm, doesn't look like everyone's quite settled in. Maybe I'm not actually late yet? He scratched absentmindedly at one of the various patches of spiky red, purple and yellow scales that had started to form upon his entry while Zeditha promptly slid off of her customary perch on the shapeshifters shoulder and onto the desk, curiously peering at their new neighbour.

Adrian leaned over, his voice a little lower than usual; "hey, would happen to know what time it is?"

Julien Moreau

Location: English Class

With: English Class, Adrian

Julien watched as a new student entered the classroom and sat down next to him.

Julien was focused on organizing his notes, but was acutely aware of the presence next to him. Julien's cold and calculated nature doesn't stop for a second when studying a new face. He seemed reptilian, but Julien would be able to notice someone of the Bahal kingdom in an instant. No, this was something else. Julien didn't know what, yet. Perhaps a demon? He had a lizard, as well. Seemed ironic that a reptilian race of any kind would keep a pet lizard... Very curious.

Before Julien knew it, the new face was asking for the time.

Julien rolled up the sleeve on his uniform and looked down at his watch.

He looked back up at the student next to him. He could see slight anxiety in his face. Perhaps he's worried he came in the middle of class.

Julien cracked a sly grin.

"Well, if you're worried that you're late, no fear. You're practically right on time, class is just about to begin. Though may I recommend coming a couple of minutes earlier, next time?" Julien said slightly under his breath.

Julien carefully eyed the person sitting next to him, before extending a hand.

His Francophone accent flowed out in a whisper. "My name is Julien. And yours?"

"Oh, um.. no. I don't even know who you are! Maybe you attacked Vize and she tied you up to defend herself! Maybe those ropes are the only thing keeping me safe from you!" She mocked, not bothering to hide her wicked grin now. She walked over to him, inspecting the ropes.

"I'm Naomi."
She said, tugging at the ropes. "And be honest- why would my roommmate have tied you up like this?" She looked at Vize in her position on the bed. "And when- if she's asleep now, you must have been here a while..." She wasn't going to untie him just yet. Where would the fun be in that? She hadn't actually tied him up, and that made her innocent enough. Anything else she did now was a crime of opportunity, and technically Vize's fault, right?

"Huh?? But... I'm the one who needs to be kept safe from her!"

Azure cringed and looked worried when he saw that grin of hers... he knows that grin, the kind that Kylier would wear when she plans on torturing him... the one that beat meekness into him...

"Ugh... I'm... Azure"

He held his head low as he coughed out his name as she strained his ropes a bit. He hated this situation that harpy girl put him in. Maybe this Naomi girl wasn't completely evil and had a heart somewhere, and trying to appeal to that might make her more merciful?

"..... Because... she says I've been bad... because she thinks I know her... but I'm positive I never met her before ever... and is punishing me over the truth..."

Azure spoke in a defeated and light tone, still looking down, not resisting much at all, trying to see how she reacts when he makes it easy for her.

"Better a lesser lizard than a walking slug, I guess.", Cassandra shot back with a shrug, "-and besides, we don't do self-introductions or anything. How is anyone going to know anyone if the paper doesn't keep tabs on the student body?"

After all-, she thought, -You morons can't even do basic background checks.

"All the same, shouldn't you be disciplining your comrade out in the hall? She'll be late if she doesn't show up soon, and those special privlieges of yours only go so far.", she turned to face the teacher, "I'm sorry about this, Mr. Redgrave. The student council are natural enemies of the truth- it's only natural that they harass me for my journalism work. I'll take full responsibility for the disruption."

"Take responsibility? Ha! That would be a first." Maxine turned to Mr. Redgrave, a sneer on her lips. "You know those reporter types. They're slimier than I am, and I'm an unholy cross between a beetle and a slug! She's a nasty one, all right, and you'd do best to save that detention for her. Quotes have a tendency to show up in her childish excuse for a paper embellished and twisted to fit with her agenda, resulting in fights breaking out constantly. I'm just stopping the problem at the source, is all."

Maxine turned back to face Cassandra. "Now, you and I both know Christine has done absolutely nothing wrong. She's out there directing students into the right classroom door, which is much more than you do to help people get through this god-forsaken labyrinth of a school. I'm gonna go commend her on a job well done, then get off to whatever the hell other things I need to do today. You will be sure not to harass the student body, or you'll have both myself and Christine at your throat, and you don't want that, you overgrown slinky. Capische?"

Without waiting for an answer, Maxine walked out the door and took a few steps down the hall. Her body shifted once more, returning to Christine's smaller, cuter form, and the bat returned to its baton form. Christine spun on her heel, took a breath, and reentered the classroom as herself. "That seems to be everyone that's coming, Teach. Shall we begin?"
