Realistic or Modern Organized Crime

"Don't tell me, I don't want anyone to disrespect my girl." He laughs, "I really wouldn't want to sink that low."

She nodded. "All that matters now, is that I don't have to forgive and forget anymore. The next time he steps out of line, I'm leavin' the office. Nothing is gonna be Jake anymore."

"You tell it sista!" He says loudly, "You'll probably go farther than he ever will."

After a bit of indulging the scenery, Antonio pulls up to her house and lets her go, "A lovely evening as always, my love."

He smiled from ear to ear then kissed her again and wraped his arms around her waist, "You sure you wanna sleep here by yourself? I have plenty of room at my house." He says with a little grin.

She blushed, biting her lip as she looked up at him. "I think I need a few more dates before I let you have me all to yourself in that house, hon..."

"Thats fair." He says giving her lips a tender kiss, "I just had to offer since its a cold night." He jokes and lets her go but takes her hand and takes her to the front door, "Goodnight Lynn." He smiles at her, "Your bright future starts tomorrow!"

"Goodnight, Toni..." She smiled. She paused for a second. "I'd like you to talk to my father before we get even further... He means a lot to me, and I want his approval, you know? He likes you; thinks you're a stand-up guy. He just wants to talk to you about stuff."

"Alright. I'll make sure I stop by tomorrow." He gives her one more kiss then turns to head to car, giving her a wink as he got into his car.

As he drove away he began to wonder if the Russian had even given him the right address and information. His mind began to race all about the stollen shipment, he has to get Lynn her money so she can move out and let her live for herself again. He shook his head, Focus...the shipment may be a trap. Maybe he knows who he is already and that thats why he wants to meet. God dammit...

She went in and went to bed. This man was definitely a keeper. She slept soundly for a while, then woke and got ready to go shopping for dinner again. She was going to make something real nice for this! She made a mental note to get stuff for a cake and stuff to make lemonade.

Again, another terrible healdine in the paper said that another body found in the lake, this time it seemed to be a suicide but some officers were thinking it's a murder. Followed by another article going on about how another Speakeasy joint was brought down by police officers.

She sighed at the paper. "I hope the Phoenix always stays open... Such a nice joint." She got the groceries, her brother helping her carry them. "So I'm finally gonna meet that sheik of yours. An Italian, right?"

"Yup!" She chirped. "He's a real cute guy."

As they walked home they would come across a terrible scene a car was turned over with three tarps covering bodies. Police were trying to keep people away from the scene. From what could be seen, it was riddled with bullets.

People began to mumble most of it was about a shootout between gangs, although no one knew which one it was.

She tossed the groceries to her brother and took off. She knew she was being crazy. He wouldn't be in any danger! But what if he'd gotten hit in the crossfire? What if he'd gotten hurt somehow? She ignored her brother calling her back and did not pause until she was at his house.

When she got to Antonio's house he was just leaving. He wore the suit she saw him in the first time they met and he was holding a bag. Seeing her run to his house, he stopped in his tracks, "Lynn? Whats going on? What happened?"

She was breathless and her eyes were tearing up. "I-I know it's stupid... but there was a car... and three bodies and I couldn't see who they were and I just... I had to see you. I couldn't wait until dinner. I had to make sure you weren't caught in the crossfire or somethin'!" She sniffled. "I couldn't lose anyone else like that... not ever again..."

He held her close and kissed her head, "Shh shh shh, its okay...I'm here. Im fine. No one is hurt." That was a lie. He was in that shoot out and took a bullet to his left side. Although the bullet did go through it still hurt like hell, but he didnt care so long as it was for her.

She clung to his suit jacket like it was the only thing holding her to earth. "I know I shouldn't have been scared... but I still could only think about you,.. and how I could never lose you. Not ever!" She buried her face in his chest, trying to calm herself.
