Forevermore
Still wishing on dandelions.
The weather was nice and balmy on that late September afternoon. Manhattan was, as it always is, crowded and bustling. Traffic honking, people talking, it was a horde of sights and sounds.
The Manhattan School of Music stood proudly on 130 Claremont Avenue, a staple of dreams in NYC, and waiting in front of the school was a young woman, smiling excitedly and welcoming people with instrument cases and drumsticks inside. She was dressed in a pretty blouse and skirt, her cheeks rosy, thoroughly thrilled to see so many people showing up. This woman was none other than one of the instructors at the distinguished school, Miss Juno Tsao-Lee. She wasn't there to teach however, no, as classes had been dismissed for the day and the sun was beginning to set. She had stayed after hours, not to teach, but to examine.
Peyton was trying to not lose his footing as he walked towards the school. He had been attending the MSOM for a little over a week now, after abruptly leaving his home of Maryland, all for this day, for this opportunity. He had so much to offer, and he didn't want to let Miss Tsao-Lee down, especially since it had been her who had offered him this chance to become something great. His mouth dried as he saw Juno welcoming others, but he chanced a nervous grin and wave. Juno saw him, winked, and mouthed 'Good luck'. The weight in Peyton's stomach lifted slightly.
