The weather was nice and balmy on that late September afternoon. Manhattan was, as it always is, crowded and bustling. Traffic honking, people talking, it was a horde of sights and sounds.
The Manhattan School of Music stood proudly on 130 Claremont Avenue, a staple of dreams in NYC, and waiting in front of the school was a young woman, smiling excitedly and welcoming people with instrument cases and drumsticks inside. She was dressed in a pretty blouse and skirt, her cheeks rosy, thoroughly thrilled to see so many people showing up. This woman was none other than one of the instructors at the distinguished school, Miss Juno Tsao-Lee. She wasn't there to teach however, no, as classes had been dismissed for the day and the sun was beginning to set. She had stayed after hours, not to teach, but to examine.

Peyton was trying to not lose his footing as he walked towards the school. He had been attending the MSOM for a little over a week now, after abruptly leaving his home of Maryland, all for this day, for this opportunity. He had so much to offer, and he didn't want to let Miss Tsao-Lee down, especially since it had been her who had offered him this chance to become something great. His mouth dried as he saw Juno welcoming others, but he chanced a nervous grin and wave. Juno saw him, winked, and mouthed 'Good luck'. The weight in Peyton's stomach lifted slightly.

"Coming in hot!" Exclaimed a baritone voice from behind Peyton. If one were to look in the direction of the exclamation, they would see a man with black hair striding up to the school entrance with a cheapish looking keyboard piano hiked under his arm. He was definitely not "coming in hot", as some would say, him actually walking nonchalant and lax up to the building. He smile matched his walk, and when he passed Ms. Tsao-Lee he gave her a finger gun before making a clicking sound with his mouth.

This was Jordan Long. He was known to be a little weird with his jokes, loving the latest memes that flooded the internet. He was also a very relaxed individual, never seeming to stress over what he thought were the little things. Ms. Tsao-Lee probably didn't really like him much considering he didn't take much seriously, but he never asked what she thought of him.

As Jordan passes Peyton, he gives him a finger gun and a click, too.

Juno raised a brow, but her grin didn't waver. She was often a favorite of the students, as she wasn't as strict and no-nonsense as some of her fellow staff members were. "Welcome." she greeted smoothly, replying with a finger gun of her own.

Peyton looked around wildly, clutching his trumpet case close to him, expecting some random burst of movement or energy. Much to his dismay (not to mention embarrassment), his reaction was all for nothing. His cheeks glowed red as he settled his case to his side. "You weren't coming in hot...that was the opposite of coming in hot..." he muttered. He eyed the keyboard that the boy had under his arm. It reminded him of the ones you could buy at toy stores.

Arthur says. . . .

Arthur stared at the clock all day. Her last class seemed to be going by so slow. She even tried to finish her script, but couldn't help, imagining her fingers picking the delicate strings of her Violin. Once the teacher dismissed the class she quickly gathered her things, her Violin case being by her side while she walked.

The slight breeze tickled her skin as she only hear the song that was blading through her ear drums. Arthur wouldn't admit that she got lost, but she would be lying if she said she hadn't passed by the same tree about 4 times. She hasn't been to the school since last year and now she has to learn everything like it was day one.

Her light brown eyes had spotted 2 boys, one with an instrument case and one with a keyboard. She figured they were going to the same place. After walking in behind them she gave a small nod to Ms. Tsao-Lee to acknowledge that she saw her. "Hello.." she lightly said before trying to look for a seat to sit and all who attended so far.

"Hello yourself." Juno replied. She beckoned stragglers to hurry along, as the time was coming to start the auditions. More people turned up than she expected, but she wasn't complaining- having options would be nice.

Peyton continued down the large halls of the school, his eyes scanning for the door to Miss Tsao-Lee's classroom. At last, he had found it, but it wasn't that hard to find- streamers were decorating the door, which was wide open, and was the only door that people were entering. The sound of instruments being tuned flooded the hall. He shuffled his way inside, trying not to bump into anyone or anything, and sat down in an empty spot. He opened up his case and began assembling his precious trumpet.

Jordan has already gotten comfortable in the classroom, as assumed by how he was laying on his stomach on the floor next to the many chairs that he could have obviously taken. With a small smile and his cheap toy store keyboard placed in front of him, he starts to play a little diddy on the thing. He seems to be in his own little world as the sound of a hollow piano mixes in with the current testing sound of everything else in the room. He decided to play Chopsticks because obviously. He's playing with two fingers, one from each hand, and kicking his feet around behind him like a gossiping schoolgirl on her bed.

Peyton finished assembling his trumpet, and began to tune it, adding to the chaotic noises of Juno's instruction hall. He scanned the crowd- he had a good vantage point from where he sat- and saw a myriad of different instruments. From flutes to clarinets to trombones to xylophones, he was certainly reminded oof his old band back in high school. Smiling to himself, he busied himself with continuing to tune his instrument.

Juno continued to usher students inside, looking at her watch- it was almost time to begin. She hurried a few stragglers along, vaguely astounded at how many people showed up. She didn't think her plea for musicians would reach this many ears.
