OOC OOC

I've only checked out the rules page (most of it) then some of the character sheets. I'm thinking some sort of sorcerer. That's as far as I can think of as character type since the rest is jusg personality I think
Go ahead and get an image or other source material for the sorcerer and we can give you character build advice for filling out the character sheet :3

I wanna go with this and do an antihero sort of archetype. Do good but works in the gray area and ready to work beyond the lines and stuff

Didn't really think of what type of magic I was going for. But black lightning does sound awesome. Not sure how speedy works with a sorcerer. I was thinking of just putting a few points in int then just go with skills

Could. Best practice is to think8ng of spells/abilities you want for your sorc first. We can then pick the skills he needs.
The skills we take tell us the stats he needs and the equipment required.

This needs a bit of brain power. My vanilla mind just thought of going with shadows at first but black lighting is cooler, so let's stick with that. Stuff I'd want it to do aside from typical lighting stuff would be versatile stuff.

But lighting creating constructs or healing or casting illusions feels forced. Maybe instead of black lighting, I'll just go with master of the element sort of thing. Then find a way to explain how he can go with elements that can be versatile. flames that can burn stuff that isn't burnable usually or just heal. lighting that can work like binding chains. I gotta think of more stuff

that's the beauty of it. Ih is anime inspired. its all bs. things don't need to make sense. its fantasy.

black lightning that heals, fire that freezes, water that explodes.....its all 'flavor text' to dress up the mechanics you get when you grab skills.

so the base would be:

stats
Intelligence E (7pts)

skills
magic F (7pts)
affinity element (lightning) (7pts)

equipment
catalyst f (7pts)

from there you can conjure and manipulate the lightning you produce, making it black or whatever color and zapping things.

From there, you can pick up other skills to increase the effect or change the things you can do with lightning

That gives me toon force vibes. That sounds cool and all but what limits the spell's capability. Feels like it's just your creativity and imagination but that feels overpowered. Like a lighting bolt that could burn, slice, and blind you from 50 feet away.

effects. your spells/abilities can only do what the skills tell you can do. shooting 50ft away? takes a skill like spell range E (14pts) and magic D and catalyst D

you'll note growing costs as you try to do more. This slows your roll and give syou something to strive for as you rp and gain power (and more points)

Senseless worrying by me. I kinda understand it now and that's kinda cool. Feels like a good and balanced system.

I'll probsbly take some range, aoe, aura, and targets. What skills do I need to use the lighting to hypercharge yourself to move speedily? Just the fast skill with the magic skill and catalyst?

Fast skill as you stated would do it :3

105 points felt like a lot but I capped out right away. Fast to move fast, aura for lighting aura, tangle to bind targets, targets for multi targets, range for long distance spells, aoe for big or long distance big spells, selective to minimize collateral damage. With these skills I can pull of these spells?

Int d
Speed e
Magic e
Element lighting f
Aura f
Tangle f
Targets f
Range f
Aoe f
Selective f
Fast f
Catalyst e

sounds right so far. now to copy the character sheet and post it into the character thread. you can then fill it out witht this stuff and other things.

went with the simple template. Was easier to fill up then dropped speed since it didn't make sense and just went full magic with exp boost

He looks good. I can tell you've been helped out by somebody most likely. The sheet being simple which means little error's.

I didn't really see any errors when I looked. The only minor thing I think I'd spotted is that the lightning from "Chains of Ragnorok" wouldn't be indestructible. There is also a "discount" you qualify for being a Fae with magic. You can pick one secondary skill and pick it up for a 7 point discount. (Born for this) This is optional however. Funny character by the way.

Nova is head of this forum and maker of Isekai Hell as you likely know. So whenever he grants you a "great scene" reaction then you'll be good. I'd be surprised if this doesn't get approved pretty soon.

Thanks. Not much to fill up. The existing sheets are well made too. Copying is my forte. I'm trying to do more with the code but I keep messing up.

good catch. Thats supposed to say breakable.

Really? If its costs 7 points it'll be free?

Found him funny to make too. I'm making his backstory too and will edit that in

I like using code and my aesthetics but it isn't necessary. Especially on CSes tbf.

Yep. It'll be free as a secondary. If you want a refefence, it's this post specifically under the race trees.

Mundane
  1. Must have:
    • Fae title
    • 1 magic skill
    • 1 secondary skill
  2. Perk: Born For This - get 7pt discount on a skill you chose for your Mundane requirements.

It works as this part here says. Have all that is liated and you get born for this (which grants a discount on these).

You already have magic skills. So you can nab a secondary. Mention that you're using the discount on it as well.

I look forward to seeing him around!

I'll keep practicing with code and eventually pretty up my sheet. Some of the sheets are really pretty. Hope to make mine more visually appealing

The link doesn't open up for me. But if I can get a skill, could I go for the Profession skill and go with philosopher? I feel no other skill covers that. Do I just add it to my sheet then put a discount tag on it?

Hope to see your girl with the magical sword. Gives me Bandai vibes. Might grab one once I earn more points

Up to you ultimately.

Oop. I fixed it. I copied the link but it had more text should work for now. For profession skill, that one actually costs 14 pts. So its outside your budget for now. Maybe #Academia OR you can just use it later. (And in general yes. It's preferred to put a discount tag on whatever you use it on. This discount is the "born for this" discount. )

Sure! Shouldn't be too hard. That one tends to go wherever so she can and would show up in almost any location. Tends to stick to fighting monsters and bandits but is more prone to stay out of wars/conflicts between countries if given choice.

Didn't notice the price. Academia and Arcana might be useful but visual arts could be too

Is the OOC usually this quiet? Are majority of the players on discord?

Mhm. Among all that, you can get what fits your character. I can think of situations where they're all useful.

The OOC is indeed usually this quiet. Most players are on the discord. Some communicate in RPN via DMs to certain people or use the OOC (there are some people who RP by extension who I've never even talked to here LOL.)

Just about most actual RP happens on the forum.

I might just save it for intimidation.

I'll give discord an other shot then.

Also a viable choice imo and there is no rush. Indeed sometimes it good to try an RP and then acquire skills that seem useful.

And the discord link is in the OP of this thread. While not needed, its very useful and honestly the fastest way to set up RPs.

Though we have never met Aya, I have read some of your posts and was inspired many times before ^^ may the creative juices keep flowing

Faynorae Think I did that tag right
