I suppose I haven't asked - are there any limitations to our stands' capabilities?

I’m not running the roleplay so take this with a grain of salt but pretty sure it’s basically don’t straight up rip off characters and don’t make stand abilities that are insanely OP. That’s basically the guidelines for your characterI suppose I haven't asked - are there any limitations to our stands' capabilities?
Yep, we just got the first posts up too. So just make a character, you kept the sheet basic but you can see that people like to add a BBCode flair.Yo, is this still open? I'm interested in joining.
For now, we are kinda letting you assume what the spirit of Jojo is. Some crazy restrictions with fun powers. I would honestly allow you to just have a similar power to an existing stand in the Jojo world if it is easier for you to come up with. I had thought of restricting stand stats, but my co-GM already approved many without a stat limitation so I guess I'll allow anything that still describes and shows enough "balance".I suppose I haven't asked - are there any limitations to our stands' capabilities?
Alright, cool. Is there a Discord server or is this the main chat?Yep, we just got the first posts up too. So just make a character, you kept the sheet basic but you can see that people like to add a BBCode flair.
We have a link above this thread to the Main Chat. Also a link for making a character should be there too. If you have any questions feel no fear in asking them out here.Alright, cool. Is there a Discord server or is this the main chat?
No, no, I meant like the place where everyone talks to one another, but I guess that still answers the question, one way or another. I'll get my sheet up soon.We have a link above this thread to the Main Chat. Also a link for making a character should be there too. If you have any questions feel no fear in asking them out here.
Uh well to answer your question more clearly, no we don’t have a discord server. No, no, I meant like the place where everyone talks to one another, but I guess that still answers the question, one way or another. I'll get my sheet up soon.
Don't get shot.I don’t know why but every time I see the title I keep thinking about
“THE ROLEPLAY TOKYO TOMARE”
OofDon't get shot.
Your character got this though He is a detective-ish, right? Let's see he can solve before getting shot.
Is Tetsuya like an NPC or something kind of? I don’t see a CS for the characterYour character got this though He is a detective-ish, right? Let's see he can solve before getting shot.
Yeah NPC, as Co-GM I'll drop NPCs here and there. ATM, I have made those three essentially you all's antagonists while in that apartment buildingIs Tetsuya like an NPC or something kind of? I don’t see a CS for the character
Alright, hopefully the others post so we can see the rest of them.Yeah NPC, as Co-GM I'll drop NPCs here and there. ATM, I have made those three essentially you all's antagonists while in that apartment building
That sounds really interesting, using an enemy’s abilities against them.Alright, I got an idea for a stand, if you guys would like to hear...
It's split up into 4 acts, um..
Act 1's generally weak, it doesn't have a "physical" form as of yet though.. it's just a cloud, basically. Act 1's not designed for combat, and its only ability is the ability to grant the standless the ability to see stands.
Act 2's a bit fast and could probably hold its own in a fight, but is still not really combat-centered. It looks like a mass of flesh, tentacles, eyes, and mouths, reminiscent of a shoggoth in that regard. This stand's power is a bit more exciting than act 1's - it can actually unlock the potential of other stands, increasing two of their stats by one rank at the cost of one rank of developmental potential. This number could be adjusted so as to not be too over/underpowered.
Act 3 is only accessible if act 2 has an A in developmental potential, meaning act 2 can't use its ability on itself or it's stuck as... that thing, y'know? Act 3 holds a more organized form, reminiscent of a red/pink squid. It's not capable of effectively fighting, however, not in this form at least. This stand act can steal other stand abilities after latching onto its victims face for at least 30 seconds.
Act 4 is humanoid with a hat like a chess bishop's, following a red/white color scheme overall. It can transform into other stands for as long as the target stand remains summoned. Paired with this ability is the fact that act 4 can also use the target stands' abilities. It won't disappear when its user is killed. The biggest flaw with this stand is that whenever a curse word is uttered within earshot of it, it immediately flies into an uncontrollable rage and will do anything to kill whomever cursed.
If you want, I could draw each act
Stand Name: Acid Hues
Appearance:
Namesake: Acid Hues by Off the Hook (from Splatoon 2)
Stand Stats:
Power: B
Speed: D
Range: C
Durability: B
Precision: A
Development: C
Stand Ability: Acid Hues can add a color to anything it's touching. This addition happens gradually, but can be sped up or slowed down. Along with that, the color will gradually flow from the point of impact to anything physically attached to the touched object.
On Acid Hues's back are three differently-colored tanks, referred as the "red", "green", and "blue" tanks. As Acid Hues adds a color to an object, the tanks on it's back are drained. While the tanks regenerate slowly, Acid Hues can also "drain" colors from objects to refill them.
Objects that have been drained lose their "favorable" qualities; steel becomes brittle, wood rots, foods become tasteless and airy... they lose their "color". Living entities have considerable amounts of color, and can't be totally drained as easily as, say, a pebble. However, as an entity is drained, it ages, and becomes sickly. A totally drained entity will soon die of miscellaneous causes.
Okay, but what about that added color? Colors added to objects by Acid Hues add acidic properties to them, based on the color.
Red acts as ionized hydrogen, essentially an incredibly low pH.
Blue acts as ionized hydroxide, essentially an incredibly high pH.
Green acts as water, with a pH of 7.
(The green tank is much larger than the red and blue tanks, and Acid Hues mixes green with either red or blue to achieve other pH levels)
So if you gave a stand the color red it gains acidic properties to it’s physical attacks or does it essentially self destruct because of the acid? The closest I have to the draft is the Stand, from several sessions ago. Since then I've changed around the wording to make it more cohesive and concise. But for the sake of sharing, this is Erica's Acid Hues:
