Because the balance is off. They are winning because Cora is not balanced therefore they have an advantage. You see, even Faust has an opposite in Lightwood somewhere. Like Soryn and Bowyn.

But if the real Moralee is dead, who's Saralyn's balance? It can't be the current Moralee.

True. But she's already got a potential health hazard who could be in her room right now.

Killing her would only agiate Lightwood and the princes unnecessarily. She can trade the girl for parts of Lightwood, or something similar to that.

True about the balance thing, i just thought it of a shift in the balance. It threw things off because it adjusted to Moralee as Saralyn's opposite. The Balance is always shifting. Fae are dying or being born all the time. Like how Soryn is older than Bowyn. It has to adjust. 


I also like to think the Faust's balance is a lightwood Fae hiding out in Darkhold..

If he is dead then the balance is off. Its not huge since Faust isnt as powerful as Cora but its still has an effect.

He is Dark, So it would have darkhold an advantage, Yes his balances child could shift to be his balance. so that works.

Nope, he doesn't need to be traitor to lightwood... Faust left Darkhold because he believes that Darkhold's victory will seriously F up the balance. He left Darkhold due to a extremely rare gift known as 'logic'. Lightwood has decent intentions though. : P


also, note in the CS that when dealing with serious subjects, he won't try to sloth through it. And he isn't PLOTTING to kill Moralee. He'll try anything he can so that Darkhold won't conquer Lightwood though. Including killing Moralee. But he'll only do that when presented with a chance and only if the situation is THAT desperate
