OOC

@The Fabulous Emerald

That should be fine.

Obviously the Death ray, Petrification Ray, Disintegration Ray, and Paralyzing ray are a little...op. But if you don't really use them then you can keep them for threats lol.

Obviously if you're going to kill someones character you need their acception of it, but that is pretty obvious considering its a rule in, like, all RP's. lol.

Also, that thing looks disgusting.

I would argue there is a lot more wrong there, but whatever

one way of doing it.

hides behind nearby rock

anyhoo, i shall make my character in the forums, and then ill probably be off.

whats up, @Idea?

Well, the powers there come in three categories.

- the ones that kill you instantly

-the ones that make you helpless

-the ones that control your character

get hit by any of this, game over.

This is true.

Maybe make a nerf @The Fabulous Emerald

Like he can't really use them unless ___________

Instead he uses ______ weapon or whatever power that isn't so.... much?

Or just change.

when you can't get out your response quick enough ;-;

hmm... how about a high ranking githyanki soldier (who have developed telekinesis and i think mind frays, could be wrong (ill check)?

also, they have special swords that can do stuff, but its nowt OP (in my opinion)

while it´s not true in every case, most times that you directly affect your opponent that´s a mistake or an OP ability. As a rule of thumb, you should strive towards abilities that affect something exterior to both characters or (in smaller measures) your own character only.

So, if the mind fray is what I think it may be, that would be a no go. But the telekenisis is fine, if kept in proper scale

turns out they don't have mind fray, i was thinking of the mind flayers (back story stuff). the sword has no other effect in the normal earth realm other than it is sentient, and is pretty intelligent, and feeds info to the wielder. also, dont steal it or bad things happen.

As one could guess from my name, I enjoy mind afflicting abilities to an extent. However, unless a dice system is implemented, or something akin to it, then mind affecting abilities have to be implemented carefully. Like time control they are a set if abilities with a VERY low threshold for hitting OP status. Outright mind control is rightfully a no-no. The best medium I've found is using the mental attacks as a distraction, in order to capitalize with other abilities. While outright mind control is a bad move to allow in ANY capacity.

Airship maybe?  My last post in Dorison myght give you some ideas there.  I took the idea from Rolemaster's Shadow World.

BOB!!!  (The Beholder) ... Favorite character of mine.  Had a pet displacer beast named Mittens (had white paws).  The one thing I did was alter the eyebeams for that character ... the favorite being the beam of light... (Mittens kept attacking him like a chew toy ... so that light beam came in handy ....)

@nfounder

You could also pay a mage or a witch to do it :D

I probably should have asked you but for some reason I really wanted Stephan to be in the sky city.

Like, really.

LOL, hey ... I'm making rounds .... LOL .. gonna be fun trying to get Bornite to Skyborne City.

Hammer Stone

Sverfneblin and back out.

Askantalopal

Skyborne City

For some reason when I read Banica I keep thinking of that scene in Dragonheart where the town was starving, looked at the dragon and started chanting "MEAT!"

You know, I saw the stuff earlier about the Githyanki.  You don't HAVE to use the race attributes.  Make the race original.  IE nerf the OP stuf to make it more of a player race.  Dragonlance did that with the minotaur, a classically evil race.  A faction of the race worshiped a god that supported Honor and courage.  I took that and ran with it, making them a vegetarian bovine race, with heroic attributes, culture, and an advanced civilization, especially in civil engineering.

LOL, you guys would love an old group I had ... called the Monster Squad.  Based partly off the concept of the original Tron movie where the guy got zapped into the game.  In this case 5 UCLA students (and two pets) made characters for a VR game and got zapped and turned into their characters which were customized monsters.  Sound familiar?  We had:

Robert (Bob) a drama / theatrical arts student who became a Beholder

Paul a Pre-Engineering student who became a minotaur

Jennifer a Pre-Med student who became a medusa (using the Boris Valejo B&W sketch as a template)  (She wore sunglasses to protect people

Kevin a Marine ROTC student ... Githyanki (they later stole a githyanki warship)

Steve a Psych Major ... Illithid (Mind Flayer)

The pets?

Mittens a black cat with white paws - Displacer Beast

Spot the beagle who became an intellect Devourer

They later picked up a rust monster and named it Rusty.
