Fandom [OOC] Titans Chat

Randomfella Randomfella Sorry it took a little longer than I promised. I confused myself on the geography at first. Not a lot of people even play in Thindol; it's kinda an expansion pack type area. Luckily, I found a map. :D

I'm really not sure what to have Alex do next. I'm trying to avoid him having to kill but that doesn't seem like an option, and I figured he'd have to kill at some point but just not this early in the game.

I mean, sometimes you've got to be a little creative. Kill or KO if you can. I would say to be as real to yourself and your characters as you can.

Are you doing minor reactions like getting knocked out or executive decisions? For example, if Rebecca were to choke one of them out and leave it open ended for Alex, that's fine. But doing something like I did where the guard called out Jayce, probably not since enough has been established about them.

Becky is shit at covert ops. Like, due to her outburst, both of those women now have some pretty solid idea she's not from Virimater. If that spreads alongside her physical description (keep in mind, at least four sailors have eyed her down closely), then she will have some insane difficulties remaining undercover. And, don't you worry, both of those women would definitely rat her out.

Hey, no Becky isn't shit at covert ops.
She just...
She works better in the dark.

Can I change it, or is it set in stone now?

Oh that is cold. :P To be more fair, this is the first time Alex has actually had to do this. The most he's had to fool were dumb gangsters and people on the street.

But I was never expecting this to go well for them. :P

Also, putting two characters with tempers in the same mission where they're both going to get insulted may not have been the best idea, lol XD

I was expecting this to go slightly better than it's going now but oh the freakin well

He ousted their position before she did.

Lemme clarify what I meant. Prior to her outburst, the two Virimater women were under the impression that Jayce (or whoever) was betraying the pirates because he wanted Rebecca for himself and she was just stupid enough to go with it since she's a new model.

Her outburst, if you follow the dialogue, make it pretty clear she isn't 'one of them'; so, just imagine the manhunt that would cause.

Alex fucked up; Becky made it worse.

Actually, it's kind'a the point. Have a little faith. There's a ton you don't know yet. Each subplot I run is literally based on a series I enjoy. Look at VIRI. It's damn-near a whole new RP.

Can I change it, or is it set in stone now?

If you want to Retcon it, it's fine since there's no other posts.

IMMA RETCON
RETCON AWAY

and that, ladies and gents, is how you fix a monumental screw up. Tune in next time to see how you reverse a natural disaster!

It also doesn't help that we were originally meant to have a third person.

Alex screwed the pooch on this one, mostly because I actually did forget that Jayce was supposed to be an idiot, though I also underestimated just how much of an idiot he was. I mean seriously, who doesn't have any kind of respect?

I mean, Alex could have technically waited until they reached the city to free her, but I can see that working out about as well as it is now.

That wouldn't change your current situation. lol

Alex screwed the pooch on this one,

Failure has been expected. Not just by me.

That would likely just be more dangerous than what you're doing now.

I play for the story, but at the same time, this specific part of the story is meant directly to give your characters a taste of how... consequences work. You won't be able to just do anything and get away with it. Moral dilemmas are real. You're going to learn really quick that 90% of the time, killing everyone is the easy way out and in choosing to not do it, you complicate next to everything. It's also going to focus on self-control. Rebecca in particular has almost always just done whatever she wanted behind a mask, but that's not how this will work and outside of her home city, it won't be either. Alex is new to all of this and he's already learned a real quick lesson in failure might come from an unexpected place.

This isn't just conditioning the characters. It's conditioning you guys. Every lesson learned will come back later, and in doing so the world will be that much more immersive.

I figured, which is why I am glad I didn't do it. This is at least somewhat manageable.

I was expecting the lessons, not sure where or when but I was expecting them :P It is fun, Usually some concessions are made for characters. I haven't had this much failure and fun in a long time. Also, I really enjoyed having Alex lose it too.

So, in short, you're setting us up to fail? Wonderful.

I need a bit more failure in my life, thanks for that.

It isn't that Becky has done whatever she wanted behind the mask (although that is true to an extent), she also has morals that are going to get pushed. She, as someone who was raised by people whose foundational rules were "Not Judge, Jury, or Executioner" and literally wants to save every life she can. She wants to fix things. Stop wars without even laying a finger on a knife or a gun. Death by her hands isn't an option for her, ever. I'm interested in how this will help mold her character.

Setting you up for failure? No.

Putting you in a situation that--if ran like a simulator--would be a challenge with several twists and turns for the OG Bat family? Yeah.

However, there are various, various reasons that no one really wanted to "take" this mission, so you'll just have to play this out...

What I don't doubt is that Rebecca will definitely be questioning her morals after a few revelations.
