Hey bright what are you doing up?

And my thoughts exactly especially right now with those ribs.
we made a deal right now he is only allowed to ride it with one of us right there to spot him and make sure he doesn’t fall and hurt himself.

Good deal, although I still can't help but be nervous since those things are so easy to fall off of and hard to control.

I just suddenly woke up. And went check my phone.

At the same time. Kid needs some freedom to do stuff and have fun. But since he's still hurt I think that's a good deal for the time being.

Yeah I was not the happiest person with my husband when he brought that home today.
But what was I gonna do say no you cant have it? After my husband bought it for him and he unwrapped it?
Besides we have a deal that unless it is like life or death type situation we don't disagree and argue in front of Liam.

Your right and to be honest if he wasn't still healing from his trip down the stairs right now... well I still wouldn't have loved it cause I dont want Liam to get hurt but I wouldn't have had an active problem with it and would have just been super worried about it.

But I guess I need to get used to it cause Liam is really getting into stuff like skateboarding and what not so I have a feeling once he is better me worrying is gonna become a regular thing.

I'm protective and worry a lot but I'm not keep him from pursing things he is interested in protective. Ill worry like hell and wont necessarily like it but I will let him do it and support him how I can.
I am only against it while he is actively healing from an injury

Yea you're right. I'd just give a death stare to my partner haha.

And that's good, it good to be raised in a house hold where you know for a fact your parents love each other very much. My parents rarely argued in front of us when we were young (and they just barely argued with each other in general, lol).

While I'm all for boys being boys and getting hurt a little (it builds character and all that! lol), given the incident with the stairs and the current vulnerable state Liam's ribs are in healing, I can understand why you are a bit hesitant about the hover board, lol.

Also oh boy, we have a future skateboarder on our hands? My cousin was super into skate boarding. A looootta broken arms with that boy haha. I don't say that to scare you tho, and to be fair, he does try a lot of risky and unnecessary tricks.

Just make sure he's got all the pads and helmet. And that he promises to always use them.

I get it this stuff is scary. You dont want him to get hurt but you dont want to stifle his fun either. Falls, cuts and scrapes will happenm. Just kind of a thing but that's not a bad thing.
There is a reason in the RP I had Nathan learn to bail, how to fall safer first.

Let him enjoy these things while he's still a kid. :)

Again you're allowed to be scared and be there for him especially when he's still learning. Your his dad thsts natural.

I think he is just going to be like all over the entire like extreme sports category.

Like skateboarding, motocross, rock climbing, Bmx, like all of that stuff he is just constantly fascinated by that stuff and wants to try it all.

Lord if you are up there please help me lol.

oh yeah trust me their will be all the safety gear lol

Yeah I have no plans to stop him from doing that stuff if its what he wants to do.

But that doesn't mean I have to love the fact that he is doing them. Ill still support his interests regardless of how nervous it makes me.
Me being nervous is my problem not his.

I know he will get hurt and that its just going to happen and its completely normal but yeah I still dont want it to happen lol
But I also know cause of how he has been through all the things life has thrown his way that if he likes it he's always going to find a way to get back up and keep doing it no matter how many times he gets hurt or nocked down.

I mean heck the boy has cracked ribs and was just like let me hop on this hoverboard real quick he is unstoppable its kinda admirable

Honestly that kind of tenacity sounds kinda familiar.. (smirk)

But it is hella impressive and admirable. Just getting back up and keep going.

Extreme sports junkie though... Well I get it. There is a lot to be facinated by. :) I certainly find /found a lot of it really cool but I never got to do a lot of this stuff myself.
But I get your anxiety,, ill be honest ever time I hear he's fallen I get nervous to know if Liams okay. As his Dad you must be 20, 100x more worried.

oh yeah junkie is definitely the right word for it lol.

yeah I just I don't like anyone getting hurt or seeing anyone in pain and that is just like 10x worse when it comes to Liam so yeah I know I will always be nervous but it is what it is.

It is impressive, but the future parent in me can't help but worry, so I understand Kai's worries here. It's all outta love.

Personally ive never been very athletic. As a kid I never really had much chance to get into this stuff. And I got quite sick in my teens with chest issues and lost all my stamina which ive never been able to win back.

I always loved wanting the extreme sports stuff. :)

But yeah your just being protective as a parent should.

As a kid I was never really athletic, but I did do baseball for a year in fourth grade, tennis one year, and track and field my second year of high school.

If I had gotten into hockey a bit earlier, surely I would be begging my parents to get me skating lessons and to let me play hockey. Now I satisfy those desires by playing street hockey with a group of some of my old high school friends when we all come home from break during the college semester.

Obviously I did do some rollerblading in my teens. I know a lot about it for a reason. Though I never got that good. Like you Edric if I got into it as a kid I mightve gotten a lot better.

Yea, I wasn't too athletic. I grew up as a scrawny skinny kid who just wanted to play Super Mario, and who didn't care at all about sports. Well, now that certainly isn't true haha.
