Hey I remember reading about olive branch but i can't find it rn

whose lore is that?
That's lore I'm going to write sometime - it's background for Moscur Del, and basically all about harmonising the boundary between human and AI so that they can both enhance each other. The 'perfection' comes when both human and AI become one person, with one personality that works in harmony. Talking to the human you'd have no idea there was an AI in there, basically.

Oh cool! What do you think the difference between that and Aether would be? Also how'd you come up with the name Olive Branch?

Isn’t that a sign of peace or something

(i won’t tell you I’ve misread that as Orange Branch at first)

You'll have to remind me what Aether does I'm afraid. I've been kind of out of the loop for a few days regarding lore stuff!

I really expected to spend a long time thinking about the name for this project, but the phrase 'extend the olive branch' popped into my head. I know there's not exactly a rift between humans and robots/cyborbs/androids/AI in particular, but in terms of physicality and possibilities regarding sentience and experiences, I thought it would be a good name. The chosen human essentially extends their 'olive branch' of a body that may be able to experience thoughts and emotions in a very different way to AI, and AI extends their 'olive branch' bringing a large pool of capabilities and digitisation.

TLDR: synth human created by Clairvoyance Cataclysm in the Aether project. The goal of the Aether project is to implant AIs into lab-grown bodies and make them as indistinguishable from any regular human or other species as possible.

bit from honey's lore:
Honey was born in the second generation of CC’s synthetics called Aether ii. Despite the fact that smarter AI technology existed during the developments of the Aether iis, the CC engineers were unable to get them to accept the synthetic bodies, thus the Aether ii line possessed less advanced AIs. These AIs still lacked many traits that allowed others to be able to attain legal citizenship and thus were put on the market as soft and fleshy versions of the metallic counterparts. Aiis were advertised to make great entertainers, public servants, even soldiers, and more. Things that required simple, straightforward, or single purposes. An Aii idol may be no different than a natural idol to an audience. They have personalities, ideas, and self-interest, however amongst the traits they lacked was a very good ability to understand various complex actions, emotions, and intents of actual humans and other species. It wasn’t long before the Aether model went on recall and got completely taken off the market, due to… some very covered up… malfunctions.

Ahhh yes! I remember. Well, given the description, the Aether project creates synths, as you say, from scratch, integrating tech and biology into one body before and then developing them as one. The Olive Branch Project does the opposite, combining a developed human and a developed AI into one person. The results are definitely very different, but that's probably why it's worth having two separate projects up.
That's actually very interesting that the Clairvoyance Cataclysm has projects that cover both bases...

probably separate head scientists
they are super competitive projects
Aether project is a little more competitive and keeps turning their shit into products and put them into the market before they're thoroughly field tested

Did Snout just knock down the closed metal hallway door?
Nooo he's not that strong. He pounded his fist on it, and yelled through it. He's pretty much useless right now since he's on, in his mind, the 'wrong' side of the door. He did not knock it down though. He is large boy with big muscles but, he's no supercow.

Just regular space cow.

He's not ox-hulk, he's stronk moo moo

From the post Verena Verena put up, I'm having a very strong mental image of Keiran suddenly looking a little hopeful if the doors open, only to be very disappointed when he sees an unarmed, unarmoured berserk space cow and a little, weedy young man standing there. We really do need Aurum.
