OOC (Rebirth of Brilliance)

@WlfSamurai I increased the number of demons Kvau has summed by a substantial amount, although nothing I don't think could't be approximated by paying a large number of mortal servants (as that's the role most of them play). Take a look and let me know what you think.

Also, writing up my intro post now, hope to have it up soon.

So I think Kvau is going to be one of those guys who lives by the philosophy of "Speak softly, and carry a big stick."  :D

I don't think we should wait on anyone intentionally, it slows games down and damages the flow of things. I'd prefer to keep things moving.

Agreed. I was just thinking about that on lunch this afternoon. @Blackadder, if you want to toss yourself in there, that would be good. Otherwise, I'll push it forward.

Do I know who Githa is, or is this a "Build an NPC" moment you mentioned?

EDIT: @Blackadder I like how your character's appearance parallels mine, but much more opulence. Was that intentional, given how we decided they would be allies?  ;)

No, no, I'd already put up the character picture - even though now it's all wonky due to the forum - and I was translating the image into words. But yes, it is a fitting parallel.

I guess "build an NPC" moment. Don't actually build the NPC, though. Just a rough idea or thought of who she is.

That's what I meant, yeah.

Anyway, Githa is one of the nobles who Kvau advises. Much like Callas she chafes under the rule of the Dragon-Blooded, especially since her house has been all but devastated thanks to their excesses. She still has some small clout with the elite, and is willing to lend what support she can.

That's awesome. Thanks!

Question. You hail from which city again? Or where do you advise her from?

This is the part where you guys create, in whatever large or small way you wish, parts of the world.

So, name a person or group that is a roadblock or threat to the plans being made in-play. You can do it in-character or here.

I have no dog in this race. It really could be anything. But sense the tone. We're still in a very pedestrian space. Whatever you bring in, make it fit the "feel" and we can all work to fit it in together. Like a puzzle.

@WlfSamurai would you be willing to give us a general outline of Kamthehar's power structure among it's ruling elite? It'd be useful to have some idea of where to plug our NPCs.

@ everyone else: One idea I had is that it might be fun to build a "rival" NPC that currently stands in your way somehow, and have them be apart of the above mentioned power structure. The rival character should have skills or abilities that parallel your own, but amplified several times over thanks to being backed by a Dragon-Blooded dynasty.

For example:

Kvau's rival would be Crystal Sigh, a centuries year old Air Aspect Sorcerer and currently the last remaining Sorcerer in Kamthehar other than Kvau. Sigh is arrogant in his power but committed to his research such that he rarely leaves his Manse-fortress, usually dealing with others via Elemental servant proxies. Sigh has been a thron in Kvau's side for years as the Air Aspect has the lawful right to seize any sorcerous related paraphernalia he deems worthy of his time, with the justification being that no "petty mortal sorcerer" could ever hope to comprehend their secrets. Kvau has had no less than three relics appropriated by Sigh and would dearly love to put the old man in his place, six feet under, but cannot as Sigh is both paranoid enough to make assassination infeasible and backed by the Dragon-Blooded hierarchy, making a formal challenge political suicide and far too public a display for Kvau's taste.
