[OOC] Out of Context Problem Thread [Inside the Great Maker]

Sounds like an interesting way of doing it, actually. I am of course looking at this at least partly from the point of view of my character, and Crystal Chameleon has a fairly normal three pre-Form Charms.

Being able to take 'em all would be fun, because Flashing Passage is a really cool Charm.

Are you thinking of Crystal Chameleon then?
Oh, definitely, it's perfect for the guy. He's starting with at least one Charm from it, the one that increases move distances, and I see no reason not to pursue it all the way. Good thing I decided to buy Glories...

Morkais' character is very similar to the one I had in mind  So rather than cause an overlap, I'm thinking of adding some Soulsteel to our security team.

Oops. :( Sure you don't mind?

And just a quick heads-up: Gulup's also going Soulsteel. That doesn't mean they'll overlap, of course, I'm just pointing it out so you know.

Reading the past few posts it looks like the concensus is that it is too overpowering to let an unlimited number of Charms get switched for MA. So, up to the form charm you can switch them out, after that you have to spend BP/xp to get it.

And what book is this Crystal Chamelion style in? I don't recognize it.

Crystal Chameleon Style is in Glories of the Most High: Maidens. It's built around flash-stepping, stealth via kaleidoscopic distracting light shows, and surprise attacks. It's pretty hardcore.

What Chaka said. Do you mind me using it? I'm pretty sure it's mechanically solid, but I'll do something else if you don't want to allow Charms you haven't read.

EDIT: One important point that you should know about. Crystal Chameleon Style allows a character to be invisible even when their anima's flaring- the anima is still there, so people know roughly where you are, but they can't actually see you, so they get penalties on attack rolls and you can pull unexpected attacks on them. I thought it was worth pointing that out now, 'cause it's the sort of thing that, appearing unexpectedly in the middle of the game, could throw well-laid plans into disarray.

EDIT EDIT: Just to check I've understood you correctly. With Charm-swapping, could I drop three of the Charms I've added using background points for the three pre-Form Crystal Chameleon Charms, then use 6BPs to add the Form on top?

Go ahead and use the technique, and yes, you can do that with the MA Charms.

Cool! I'll post a short description of each Crystal Chameleon Charm, just so everyone knows what I'm capable of.

I dont know of any rule that says you can't buy subroutines with background points, so go ahead.

Well, the thing is that there's no listed bp cost, only various xp. So is it something like 1bp = #xp, or 1bp = 1 Submodule...

I'm in a giving mood; the cost of the submodules in BP is just one point.

Lets get some characters posted up in our hero's and villians board so I can start to torment- I mean, run the game.

I will give it a green stamp, considering that now your opponents will have these weapons themselves, on some occation.

I'm kind of curious... is Craft a SINGLE ability or a cluster of abilities? ala Craft Water, Craft Wood and so on...

Which is to say, the Craft augmentation covers all possible craft abilities simultaneously.

I should point out that the Character Sheets board is down as a "Rooster". Why are we keeping all that information in a chicken?
