Yeah with my guy it is more a connection to his people, because his main deal is he is the descendant of an ancient subhuman tribe of sorts that have a deep connection to animals, nature and voice of all things with the latter playing a role in their relationship to the environment and whatnot.

I would have him posted already but I've been working on revamping the original character sheet because I wasn't really satisfied with it and that character was also made for a RP that was pretty much right at the beginning of the adventure so he was very much underdeveloped in a lot of aspects.

That is to say that our characters likely shouldn't step on each others toes, as of the start of the RP I intend to have my characters connection to the voice be suppressed somewhat as I was intending on making it more of a relevant thing to his character later on and most of my ideas for how it was going to be used involved more stuff to do with communicating with animals and maybe even certain plantlife maybe

He might actually be a pretty interest subject for September since his being and origins could kinda tie into her goal/dream of learning the truth about the "song of the sea" and whatnot

Looks are often deceiving, and Tabemono is no exception. A wild child adorned in elegant robes and flowers. The man exudes a mystical energy that gives the impression of something not quite human, but something far more ancient and primal - yet somehow also familiar. He has the look of nobility about him that stands in stark contrast to his primitive and at times even feral nature that is a byproduct of his unusual upbringing on Kappakashi island. He has spent his life surrounding by beasts both mundane and strange, large and small. His behavior in normal society heavily reflects this, as he considers even the most casual of human customs as something completely foreign and exotic. His isolated upbringing means that he knows very little about the world outside or the many complexities that exist throughout the many different societies. That is not to say he knows absolutely nothing, but whatever he has learned or claims to know comes from the word and knowledge passed down to him by a giant (and ancient) turtle island...So take that for what you will.

The most important aspect to understanding Tabemono is understanding his bond with animals, which is easily shown through his relationship with Goncho. A strange wolf-like creature of equally mysterious origins, and a matching mystical aura to Tabemono. The two have been together since infancy, and their connection goes deeper than what can be verbally or physically expressed...Tabemono shares this connection with all living creatures he meets, all with the exception of one: humans (or really, humanoids in this case).

He has a good understanding of creatures, the way they feel and is better at communicating with animals than he is other people. Otherwise he expresses himself physically more than he does verbally, not to say he isn't capable of speech it is just the form of communication he defaults to. His words are usually used sparingly, and with purpose. All in all, he has A LOT to learn about the world and is generally ignorant on a majority of subjects.

(might extend this to include the fact he has a hard time remembering his past, partially because he is actually a bit older than he looks, because he was still basically a child, and because his memory is suppressed as a sort of trauma reaction. He's basically living in denial and the trauma of his past caused him to forget where he had come from. I could also maybe suggest his memory suppression having something to do with his severed connection to the Voice of All Things, with his memory being suppressed alongside that connection he has/had.)

Character Quirks
- Has a habit of audibly growling whenever in thought (or he's pissed off)
- Likes to sniff things that are new to him before anything else
- He will eat pretty much anything that appears even slightly edible and is far from being a picky eater
- He pees with one leg up (LMAO idk if I should add this one just thought it was funny)
- He is a terrible liar, but that will not stop him from making attempts if it means he can get something he wants out of it

Extra Background Lore

The Fabled Island, Fera Spiritus
Fera Spiritus (Wild Spirit in latin), a fabled island hidden from the rest of the world. The existence of this island is rumored throughout the seas, but not many have ever actually been there. Only a select few of the world's free spirits. The island is home to the Rugitus Spiritus Clan, a tribe of primal subhumans who don't take kindly to strangers. The Rugitus Spiritus, go farther back in time than can be documented and have become a legendary warrior clan. They are largely in tune with nature and wild life, rarely killing animals and working with them to survive. The Rugitus Spiritus are headed by what their tribe calls a Spiritus Annorum: the Old Spirit, who is a wise, caring leader unafraid to make the hard choices. Nobody knows exactly how long the Old Spirit has been around, only that it is through him that the people thrive, it is also by the Old Spirits blessing that the Rugitus Spiritus Clan are capable of communicating with and through the Voice of All Things. He also values the use of books as teaching tools and documenting their current era for the next generation. The Rugitus Spiritus are skilled in all trades including but not limited to blacksmith, carpentry, construction, remedy making, and much more.

According to the Old Spirit, Fera Spiritus was once a sky island and their people once lived and roamed among the heavens until the great flooding. When the seas were officially formed and the Red Line established, Fera Spiritus descended down from the skies and landed down onto the ocean somewhere in Paradise. The island remains illusive to almost all travelers who seek it out. The island does not emit any magnetic force, and cannot be located via any typical Log Pose used to navigate the Grand Line. It is said that the reason the island is so difficult to find is due to the Voice of All Things protecting the island and its inhabitants from invaders. Only those with a connection to the voice are capable of finding Fera Spiritus.

(May add to this description once I go into his background more and elaborate on the whole island destruction or whatever it is that happens as the result of Tabemono's foolish actions)

His first bounty will come from a series of events that took place over the span of a few months, and ultimately lead to Tabemono joining up with the current crew. These events will likely include Sharktooth Finn as his temporary ally and partially go into why they decided to go their separate ways...Especially since Finn made a promise to Kappakashi that he would look over Tabemono in his stead.

Goncho (Okami Wolf)
A creature native to the island of Fera Spiritus, this white beast is from a particular species of Okami that have become an integral part of the Rugitus Spiritus peoples day to day lives. So much so that it is said for every newborn member of the tribe, is a newborn guardian canine tied. The wolf and the man are bound to each other and connected on a deep, spiritual level. Each one is born with unique tribal markings imprinted on their fur. What seperates this species from your typical wolf or okami, is their variable size. From birth they have the innate ability to decrease or increase their physical size (their physical attributes decreasing or increasing accordingly as well).

"Goncho" as Tabemono calls him, is a rather large Okami creature of mysterious origin. Being larger than your typical Okami he is depicted to be at least four times the normal size with past battle scars on several parts of his body. Goncho is patterned with red tribal markings across his entire body; perhaps hinting towards the origin of it's being. Goncho is very loyal to Tabemono and his friends and is never seen away from Tabemono's side. (He stands 8,5" tall and is approx 13-15ft long)

Mental Strengths
Tabemono has no formal education, and is ignorant on most subjects involving the outside world; its people and its history. What he lacks in academic knowledge and social etiquette offset only slightly by his affinity toward all forms of wildlife. For one reason or another, Tabemono appears to have an understanding with animals that exceeds the average ability of one to tame a creature - he communicates with them. Claiming that by listening to the 'voice which unifies all things', he is able to have conversations with animals without any need for physical gestures or speech.

He is a natural friend to all creatures, even those that would usually pose lethal danger to the average person. (With the exception of whatever GM declares as an exception lol)

This is kinda an extension of the last two, and really all of his physical strengths can be attributed to this right now. Tabemono's entire physiology is far different from the average human in spite of having identical appearances, and the direct descendant of the Old Spirit, he is considered to be unique even among his own people. Aging at a much slower pace than the average human, he a natural lifespan of possibly a thousand years. He has an impeccable immune system and high tolerance and resistance toward all forms of toxic and poisonous substances.

Tabemono possesses an innate ability to learn the minds of all kinds of animals/creatures that tread the scattered landmasses across the world of One Piece. He has a instinctual and innate affinity towards all wildlife and nature as a whole.

(Currently Severed) Connection to the Voice of All Things
Tabemono has the hidden, and innate ability to listen and use the Voice of All Things to communicate with nature and wildlife. He does not know why he has this ability while others do not, in fact before encountering other people Tabemono had always assumed it something everyone could do. Implying that the ability is something that comes very naturally to Tabemono, rather than something he was taught or could teach others.

Fighting Style
Wild, rabid and feral. He does not fight like any normal person, using a stance that takes him onto all fours with movements and attack patterns similar to that of an ambush predator.
