Realistic or Modern one x one - teen roleplay

Sky took a little longer to leave her house than usual, it wasn’t like her to be late getting ready or anything so it was a little out of the ordinary, but nothing to cause concern. She finally managed to leave the house, grinning at him as she saw him in his car. She got in the passenger seat and looked at him whilst putting on her seatbelt. “You look handsome, who are you trying to impress?” She asked cheekily. Sky wore high waisted black jeans with a black, strappy vest (not too sure what you call them lmao) and a dark red loose, chunky cardigan over the top. She had her usual jewellery on, but today tied her hair up in a fashionably messy ponytail with parts of her hair still out at the front. She leant over and gave him a quick, shy kiss on the cheek as she awaited his answer.

(Do you want to do the dinner now? Or wait awhile?)

Zim smiled at her comment, "Oh definitely for Ms. Grimshaw at school." He joked, referring to the very very old math teacher. Turning his attention to Skylar's clothing he reached out and ran her necklace through his hand, slightly touching her collarbone that lay underneath. He pulled away, "you look beautiful." He breathed, before turning the ignition on and starting off towards school.

(Honestly whenever is fine with me, i don’t mind either way! Up to you)

Sky blushed, “Thank you.” She relaxed in her seat and looked at their surroundings as he drove to school. “You know you don’t have to drive me every morning, it’s a 20 minute walk.”

( It's hard to decided because I feel like we wanted to go the dinner and then that lead to the big fight... Then they would "break-up" for the summer lol
What do you think the fight will be about? I was kind of thinking that Zim crosses the line with what he says to her parents because he can tell they don't approve of him and Skylar gets angry? )

"I know..." Zim started, leaning back and only leaving one hand on the bottom of the wheel. With the other he reached over and grabbed her hand and squeezed it, "but I want to." He also didn't want any of the other guys to honk and whistle as they drove by her in the morning, but he decided to leave that part out. Zim felt lighter with her around, not like his usual brooding self. He wanted to do something special for her but he wasn't sure what yet. "Hey after school i'm going to the store to pick up some things to re-do that office in Aunt April's house.. Wanna change it into a room/writing space." He declared. He had already attempted to put his aunts guest room back to normal and didn't want to mess with it anymore. "Do you wanna come? I wasn't sure if you had work."

(Oo yes I love that idea! It ties in really well with her not wanting to disappoint them, and her feeling like she owes them! I think maybe it could be in a couple weeks time, maybe give them a few more weeks of happiness together before they break it off for the summer, that way it’ll hurt more? Sounds sinister, lol)

Sky grinned at him, “That’s a lovely idea, I’d love to come.” She responded happily, looking at him with eyes full of admiration and squeezing his hand gently in return. “Do you wanna have lunch together today?” She asked him hopefully, it was always her favourite part of the day when they could have lunch together.

( Yess, great idea mwuahahha ;D )

Zim sighed and thought about it, "yes as long as your friends don't ask me a million questions", he spoke half-joking but half not. He liked when it was just him and Sky but some of her friends were nosy. He pulled into the schools parking lot and choose an empty spot.

She chuckled, “I’ll tell them to back off a little, I promise my love.” She smiled at him. When they got school she got out of the car and waited for him with a big smile, holding her hand out for him to hold.

Zim smiled, hopeful in her promise but her friends seemed relentless sometimes. He held his hand out and clasped it around Skylars, while leading them both towards the school. He didn't really mind Riverton High, especially not since meeting Sky. But sometimes he felt like this was a dream.. He wouldn't be doing this forever, he wouldn't live in this town forever, would Skylar ever come with him? They really just had started dating, only meeting about 3 months ago but he wondered about the future sometimes, and if she'd be in it. When they got up to the front foyer and stopped and went in for a hug before backing away and kissing her on the cheek. "I'll see you at lunch Sky." He spoke before turning and walking away to get to 1st period.

Sky nodded to him, “See you then!” She replied happily, before heading to class. Her whole morning revolved around the excitement she had about seeing him for lunch. She’d doodle them together on her paper in class, counting down the minutes. After her last class before lunch she went outside to wait for him, followed by her friends. “Don’t interrogate or annoy him.” She stated in a serious, yet not hurtful tone. “Please.” She added. Of course her friends would be curious about him but she didn’t want them to drive him away.

(Sorry for the slow/shitty replies yesterday. I went out and mayyyy have been just a liiiitle bit drunk aha, but I’m free and sober all of today so I should be able to reply more (: )

( Ahah xD Niceeee... No worries, I was feeling a bit slow yesterday as well)

Zim had had an uneventful day so far as he strolled to meet Skylar. Some idiots in his stats class took up the whole time by arguing with the teacher and causing a scene so not a lot of learning had occurred. He brushed passed the last of the lunch crowd and saw Skylar standing by her friends, he grumbled to himself something about wanting to be alone but he knew that it meant something to Skylar if he made an effort. "Hey." He started, approaching the group. "What's on the menu today?"

Sky smiled at him, with almost apologetic eyes. It did mean a lot to her that he made an effort, but she knew he preferred for them to be alone. She gently held his hand, playing with his fingers absentmindedly. “I’m not sure, we could go get a sandwich or something?” She suggested, only really talking to him.

"I'm down for that..." He began, feeling her touch on his fingers. "Sound good to you all?" He asked, motioning toward her friends. He had never felt close to someone like this before, it almost scared him how much he liked her. It was even crazier that he had found someone in this rink dink town especially after all the bad news he had gotten in the past few months. He shifted his weight from one foot to another and waited for Skylar to take the lead to the deli.

Her friends nodded but were caught up in their own relationships, so much so they were absent from the conversation. Sky gave Zim a kind smile and held his hand properly, starting to walk to the deli. It was only five minutes away, sot hey would have plenty of time to eat before lunch ended. She walked a little faster than her friends, looking up at him as they got further ahead. "I'm sorry it's not just the two of us, but it will be after school." She hugged his arm as they walked; she was never much of a touchy-feely person, but something about Zim just made her want to hug him constantly.

( Wanna time skip to after school? )

Zim glanced back at her friends while they were walking ahead, "It's alright, I don't mind" he smiled. He enjoyed the warmth next to him from her body, summer was approaching but it was still chilly somedays. When they reached the deli Zim opened the door and let everyone in the group pass through before he let go and followed in suit behind everyone. He saw Skylar was in the front and walked up to hand her some money, "i'll just have whatever you get" he stated, feeling that anything he had would be good from this place.

(Yeah, I'll do it now!)

After school Sky stood outside, waiting for Zim to come out of school. She was really excited to see him and to spend some more time with him, her favourite thing to do was anything they would do together. Even going to the store was an adventure for her when she was with Zim, in all honesty she wasn't sure what she would even look forward to before she met him.

Zim walked out of the front door, his leather jacket flung over his right shoulder. "Sky!" He called, getting her attention since her back was turned to him. He was ready to get out of there and look for furniture to put in his new space. Since his moms passing he inherited a small sum of money and decided to use some of it to redecorate, he couldnt stand to look at wintergreen wallpaper another day. When he reached her he flung an arm over her, kind of in a possessive way. He liked to know she was his, even though they hadn't talked about labels yet. He was grateful that Skylar hadn't brought that subject up. "Ready to go? I'm thinking of checking out that antique furniture store to see if they have a desk I can restore."

Sky nodded gleefully, leaning up and kissing his cheek. His possessive arm around her made her happy, she loved being his, and she really enjoyed other people knowing that she is his. Sky was indifferent about labelling their relationship, either way she knew how she felt about him and didn't need a label to secure it. Though it would be nice to call him her boyfriend. But she knew he'd bring it up in his own time, when he was ready, and she was in no rush for it.
"This is so exciting, I love this sort of stuff." She said as they got into the car. "That antique furniture store is a goldmine, sometimes. Some of the things in there are incredible, especially if they need a little fixing up, because then it's fun." She grins at him.

Zim chuckled at her enthusiasm, grateful that he would have a someone with him. He walked with her over to the car and then separated himself so he could get into the front seat, he hesitated at the opening though. "Hey.." He began, looking at her. "You wanna drive?" He had never seen her drive, and though he was a little bit scared of how'd she'd be, he was curious. It was a stick shift car, and ZIm had been driving on them since he learned how to.

"Me drive? Why, your hands stopped working?" She asked him, followed by a soft chuckle. She knew she was fully capable of driving this car, she was just curious as to why he asked her to, why he wanted her to. She shifted into the drivers seat and smiled, "Need a ride, pretty boy?" She teased, looking up at him.

He smiled sheepishly, "well I think I want to kick back and relax and have you drive me around." ZIm teased, getting into the passenger seat and putting his hands behind his head in a relaxed fashion. "You ever drive stick before?" He wondered aloud. He usually liked to be the one driving but figured he'd let her take a shot.

“I have.” She smiled, “Don’t look so worried.” She teased, starting the car. “Put your seatbelt on.” Beginning to drive, she kept her smile. Sky loved driving, she thought it was fun, even more so since she met Zim. She was good at driving, she had lots of practise, and took any opportunity to drive her parents or brother anywhere. “Told you.” She whispered.

Zim lifted both brows and nodded his head, "alright alright you surprised me." He spoke, impressed. As they drove to the antique store Zim thought about doing something special for Skylar, perhaps a nice date? Fine dining? Don't girls like that shit?

When they arrived Zim hopped out of the car and started to head towards the place.

---

He ended up getting a desk that he was going to refurbish and some vintage prints to put up on the wall. Zim drove on the way home, he thought about how he would re-paint the desk and sand it when it arrived tomorrow, he paid someone extra to bring it to her aunts house because they didn't have to means to transport a desk. He grabbed the art and ushered Skylar inside with him and up to the new office space he was going to fix up. Zim looked around for a moment, it was a little messy because he was using it already for a writing space. Crap I forget to put away what I was working on, he thought seeing it sprawled out on his desk. One of them wrote, unfinished-

If it had not been you to have believed in me on days that I had given up on myself
if it had not been you-

As soon as Sky walked in she had a look of admiration in her eyes and glee on her face, her mouth upturned into a joyful grin. Her eyes gazed around the room, the little mess not registering in her mind as it was overwhelmed by the curiosity of what he'd been writing in here. "This room is already so cool, I can't wait to see what it turns out like." She spoke as she took a few steps around the room.

How could this guy get anymore perfect? She asked herself, the smile not fading from her face. As she got closer to the desk, her eyes scanned over the writing. As she read the unfinished work, her heart felt warm and fuzzy, in a good way of course. As she looked around, the words kept replaying in her head.

If it had not been you to have believed in me on days that I had given up on myself

Lovingly looking at him, she reached her hand out and grabbed his, pulling him closer to lean up and kiss his cheek.

Zim wasn't sure what the sudden rush of affection was about but he welcomed it gratefully. He pulsed her hand twice then returned the kiss with one on her forehead. "Lets get to work." He smiled, pulling away. Zim started by cleaning up the room and moving any unwanted furniture out, then bringing in an old mattress and bed frame his aunt was keeping in her basement. He was grateful for Skylars help, he knew she would be great at hanging all the prints up in an attractive way. Okay now all thats' left is painting and fixing up the desk.

As the work was dwindling down and Zim was emptying out a wardrobe in the room he came across a bottle of whiskey and some glasses. I could go for a drink.....
Him and his friends would have a drink a home sometimes so he didn't think anything of it. He held up the bottle in the air, motioning at Skylar. "Want a drink?"
