One Piece: The New Age {Sign-Up}

It’s been ten years since the straw-hat pirates were last seen or heard from. Rumours have spread that they finally landed on Raftel, but no-one knows for sure, meaning the mysterious treasure known as One Piece is still up for grabs as far as far as the world knows.


Our tale begins at Smuggler’s Cove, wherein thousands of pirates, new and old, have gathered to form a crew to help them on their journey across the Grand Line. The Grand Line, for those who don’t know, is an ocean that runs around the globe. Within it, there are hundreds of islands, the last of which goes by the name Raftel, and is supposedly the home of the One Piece.


But during your journey, there will be marines constantly on your trail, so make any slip-ups and you’ll end up at Impel Down, the notorious prison, and while your crewmates could come and rescue you; chances are they’ll get captured in the process. Marines are cool like that.


There are also special fruits called Devil Fruits that can be found and eaten during, or before, your journey. These fruits give you special powers. For example, the Gum Gum Fruit (Gomu Gomu no Mi) gives you a body made of rubber. No UBER MEGA POWER, got it? Anything too eccentric and you'll be asked to edit your sheet.

History: Not much is known about her, hell she doesn't even know her own past. All that's really known is she can get in to anything with ease. Her most common place to raid is any local Marine base just to toy with the marines and rank up her bounty.

History: Scram was a odopted child her real father died in a ship fight(or what ever they are caled). Her adotive father is a Navigator for the SS Hog. Scram ran away from her step father to see the real, not military world. scram grew up in the lodge of thives in the scatered island, she sailed to Smuggelers cove in a pirate ship and ship quickly went up ranks to Navigator. When she got to the cove she quit that ship in order to find another one. When she finds on she will sail with them to find One peice.

Which means his body actually has the substance of oil although he appears to be a normal human at will.


He is able to produce oil out of his hands like jet streams that are able to cut through wood, his range is limited though. He is also able to produce an oil-sword which has the density of normal steel. He always carries a pack of dynamite sticks with him in case he needs to blow things up without his cannon.


Personality: Always in for a good laugh, kind-hearted man but realizes it's a " kill or be killed " - world so he sets his emotions aside during battles. He takes his friends close to heart and his cannons even closer.


History: Gin was raised as a pirate, his father was a cannoneer and so was his grandfather. In fact, the male lineage of his name goes to cannoneers as far as he can tell. He has a steady hand and a good eye and instinct. He also knows how ships operate and thus knows where to aim. He left his father's crew at age 25 and has been sailing with the Yato Crew for almost 2 years now, in search of glory and fame.

Personality:


Is a very mysterious person. At one time he may be serious, dreadful and calm. While another time he may be carefree, funny and easy going. Sometimes he just keeps to himself other times he likes help. He takes everything he does seriously. And he takes the respect of his crew seriously as well.


History:


Kaito is a man of many talents. As long as he can remember since after his mother passed away of an illness. He has helped people do anything they need. Repairs, cooking, hunting. Because of all the years of different jobs he really is about the Jack of all Trades. He will try anything once, and he continues to do everything he possibly can for others.


He always goes on his gut feeling, even though sometimes it is wrong. He will not take a life unless absolutely necessary. For being a pirate, he is almost too nice.

Devil Fruit: Inu Inu no mai - Model: Hyena! With this fruit Eva can change at will into a hyena. As a hyena she has several mentalities, such as her laughter is rather high pitched and obnoxious. Because a hyena is a carnivore, Eva must eat raw meat to be able to supplement her carnivorous side. Of course she doesn't have to all the time; but it's fun to freak people out. Her jaw is incredibly strong even when in human form. In full hyena form, she can break bones and tear off flesh. Even in her human form she can inflict damage through her sharp teeth and bruise bone from her jaw's strength.


Appearance: She wears a dog collar around her neck. Her clothes are different from the picture. Usually just ripped jeans, a simple t-shirt and possibly a heavy jacket sometimes. Other than that she's pretty much the same, except her hair is cut a bit more jagged and uneven.


Personality: She's grown up to steal what she needs, take anything she can and never give it back. She thinks about herself first, others never and won't hesitate to leave you in the dust if betraying you furthers her survival. Often Eva is in conflict with her hyena side, because her primal instincts demand she find a "Clan". While her distrustful human side cries for her to be isolated and wary of others.


History: Eva lived on the Island of Jaya all her life. Her parents were pirates and they abandoned her when she was five. About that time she ate her devil fruit and

Personality: Goes far to impress (mainly the women). Tries to play the ladies man and can be excrutiatingly flirtacious. Often jokes around and plays pranks. Deep down he desires to settle down; and to truly be accepted by others.


History: Myko'itac, which is actually a name he made up for himself (real name unknown thus far), grew up in a fairly unusual life. He was labelled a pirate the day he was born; his father was a pirate and they were always on the move. Myko never really knew his mother because after he was born, his father decided to take Myko and abandon the woman who gave birth to his child. Myko was trained as a swordsmen everyday of his life. Myko's father worked him very hard, until he got violent on his son. His father got violent on him because he accidentally fed him a devil fruit - which was fed to him is unknown. After that Myko's father rejecting him and left his son to live on his own. Myko's father didn't make it that long though, as he ended up drowning after deciding to still continue sailing the sea. Myko is now older and seeks adventure to make up for his dreary past.

History: Was born on a pirate ship, and then traded to another crew for their freedom. She grew up there, and eventually left them to become a pirate on her own. She joined the Yato Crew when she was 20.

History: Because of his Devil Fruit powers, women have been throwing themselves at him his whole life. He has grown to hate them for this. He decided he’d much rather settle down with a level-headed male. He joined the marines because there weren’t many women there, and he liked the idea of bringing justice to the world.

History: He began is training as a wetboy at the age of 10. He was a bit slow and a bad shot but over time he got better, much better. He was very talented with a guitar at the time too, and it would be come his calling card playing a guitar at a bar where his target would be then taking them out as soon he was done with the song and left the stage. He has everything he owns in his guitar case. With different guns that are held in a false bottom.

Once in the air, the afro grenades have 5 seconds before it splits into mini afro tentacles to bind the opponent (and no, they don't explode).


Appearance: A 6'4, 150lb black male with a decently long afro; wears a simple white T-shirt with cargo pants


Personality: Loves to fight strong opponents whenever he can; a calm fellow until you ruin or even touch his afro...then all hell will break loose!!


History: After working for an organization dedicated to stealing songs from across the Seven Seas, Najibe decided to set his sights higher...he quickly became a sellsword, working for anyone that would give him a lot of money. So far, with his thieving/afro enhanced killing skills, he seems to be doing well for himself. However, Najibe still searches for something or someone that will bolster his adventurous spirit.

Personality: Kayla is very patient and kind. She is accepting of most everyone, knowing how it feels to be labeled an outcast. She is extremely loyal to her friends and will do anything to protect them. Despite the fact that she is a doctor, she can be deadly with her daggers so it's best not to test the level of her tolerance too much.


History: Kayla grew up in a gypsy camp and has always been an outcast to society so a pirates life is nothing new to her. She learned most of the ways of her family before their camp was attacked by marines under the impression they had been the source behind a large increase of crimes in a neighboring town. Her parents were both arrested and she was left alone to fend for herself. She was taken in by a kind woman who was a physician and treated various conditions and ailments and learned the practice of her new "mother". When the woman fell ill with an untreatable disease and died, she made it her goal to find a cure. She now seeks for various healing techniques and methods in hopes that one day she will succeed.

Appearance: Lillith has mid-length deep red hair, and honey yellow eyes. Has a tall, lean, and well toned.


Personality: Silent, proud, and determined. If she's mad, she'll most likely hit you rather than yell at you. Rarely says a word. Some people think she's mute. But she's not, occasionally muttering a word when needed.


History: Lillith grew up on a small island in west blue. Her father being the marine captain there. One day, when she was five, her father went out on patrol. He never came back. From then on, she grew up with her uncles, Eli and Elliot, the local gun smithies. Eventually joined the marines, and eventually was kicked out for disobedience and law-breaking. Turned to piracy. Mainly for the reason as she was pretty much labeled a criminal when she was kicked out of the marines.

The Doku Doki Devil Fruit allows someone to have eye sight better than that of a hawk in exchange for being very sensative to light and from time to time bleeding blood like tears as a way to clear out blood from the over popping of blood vessels.

Personality: A mix between being serious and being a joker. A bit level headed and easily annoyed. Spaces out a lot and likes to sleep. Doesn't like people screwing with her kitchen.


History: Vero doesn't remember exactly when she was recruited, or even much from when she was little besides a little white cottage looking over water and a lady with a nice smile. Though her memory is a bit fuzzy, she could tell you she remembers a grey period. A time when the smile disappeared before she had found the devil fruit which changed her in many ways. She was around 12 when she had found the fruit and taken a bit out of it. After that, her world changed drastically. A year later she was out wondering on her own till she had been hired in a bar as a dishwasher in exchange for room and board. As she grew older she got more skilled in cooking, soon becoming the head cook of the bar till she realized she was unhappy and saw what she really wanted was to just be away from all of this. To be able to soar away from things bothering her. Though Vero couldn't fly, she found the closest thing to it, pirates.

History: He was a nobleman's child at birth, but his father was killed over some "incident" while he was still very young. He bounced from relative to relative, but none of them wanted the "problem child" so he stole away one night. He met up with a ragtag bunch of street kids, and ate, stole, and lived with them before they managed to steal a Devil's fruit from under the noses of the Marines. That got his entire group killed, but Gerrof narrowly managed to escape by consuming the fruit, and slipping away. He now wants to find One Piece, just to spite the Marines which he has come to dislike and distrust.

- He is able to change the size of himself and anything he touches, Slade power can also be time-based. Meaning he is able to touch an item which only expands or decreases in size after several seconds. The duration of the effect can last from a second to a minute, never more and never less. The duration is applied at will.


Weapons:


He relies heavily on his powers and it shows in the choice of weapons he carries with him.


Slade wears a bunch of throwing knives on him and is nearly always seen sporting a handheld (whalebone-)spearcannon over his left shoulder.


He also has twin stilletos tucked under his belt.

Personality: Slade's all about fun and games, he loves teasing people and enjoying life. He takes his work not that serious, although he won't disobey orders he usually won't go all-out unless there's a reason. He's a governement dog and doesn't deny it, he couldn't care less who orders him around as long as they don't push it and they make sure his paycheck's there every month.


History: Slade's always been the rebellious type but once he crossed the line. He ate the Devil Fruit some pirates had brought with them to his small island settlement. He was strictly forbidden to even look at it by both the local population and the pirates, but that just instigated his curiousity and rebellious side more. He stole it from the, at the time drunk, pirates and took a bite. After which it became apparent what the powers were since he couldn't yet control them and his limbs grew or shrunk at random. After some time he was able to control it however and started selling his newfound power to the highest bidder, doing mercenary jobs and all kinds of immoral acts. The Marines took notice of him and offered him a position, he gladly accepted since now he didn't have to keep searching for jobs or try to make a name for himself since he was offered a great and steady position.
