She gave a chuckle at Summer’s declaration of putting them in line. If only it were that easy, whoever they had left as their secret keepers had done a marvelous job. It was pretty obvious thanks to the letters they received that even if they had never managed to send even one themselves that her uncle was still getting messages from them somehow. Realistically the implications that Uncle Theodore had someone stalking them again should worry her but her Uncle was always the overprotective type, besides the only way Uncle Claude could have got Uncle Theo to leave is through the complete promise that he’d still miss nothing in Hunter’s life.
“You know, if you do manage to track them down let me know. I’ve tried but any time I get close to guessing where they might have gone they’ve already up and left the country again.”
Summer decided to call out to Xander to finance a round of drinks and when Xander asked for clarification she hopped in immediately. She didn’t figure that Summer was poor, after all she was one of the best gambling fiends she knew, but it wasn’t fair to her to buy for a whole town of people she barely knew just to cheer her and Emily up.
“Xander! I got everyone here. Let Summer take those late arrivals.”
She turned back to Emily and Summer with a sheepish smile that wilted a bit as she remembered her latest letter from her Uncles. She was at least glad Hunter got them a bit more frequently but she missed her Uncles almost as much.
“I didn’t want to let Hunter know and get his hopes up but in one of the letters Uncle Theodore sent me he said that they already bought one of the houses down on Forest road.”
She let out a sigh as she got irritated over the letter. She herself had gotten her hopes up but it’d been months since then. She supposed that of all people she should know how difficult it is to move in. Bon Marche took a year to set up before she could move in. Still they bought a house not a business. Why did they even buy the house, why did her uncle let her know.
“You know I kinda assumed that meant they’d be moving back soon. Uncle Theo said they would but well it’s been what four months since then? I would shout at him if I knew where he was! I miss my swordsmanship lessons with him. Dad’s great too but he’s all about the aesthetics and defense with swords. Uncle Theo and I could brawl till the first drop!”
